1A fundamental theorem for eco-environmental surface modelling and its applications显示文摘We propose a fundamental theorem for eco-environmental surface modelling(FTEEM) in order to apply it into the fields of ecology and environmental science more easily after the fundamental theorem for Earth’s surface system modeling(FTESM). The Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei(BTH) region is taken as a case area to conduct empirical studies of algorithms for spatial upscaling, spatial downscaling, spatial interpolation, data fusion and model-data assimilation, which are based on high accuracy surface modelling(HASM), corresponding with corollaries of FTEEM. The case studies demonstrate how eco-environmental surface modelling is substantially improved when both extrinsic and intrinsic information are used along with an appropriate method of HASM. Compared with classic algorithms, the HASM-based algorithm for spatial upscaling reduced the root-meansquare error of the BTH elevation surface by 9 m. The HASM-based algorithm for spatial downscaling reduced the relative error of future scenarios of annual mean temperature by 16%. The HASM-based algorithm for spatial interpolation reduced the relative error of change trend of annual mean precipitation by 0.2%. The HASM-based algorithm for data fusion reduced the relative error of change trend of annual mean temperature by 70%. The HASM-based algorithm for model-data assimilation reduced the relative error of carbon stocks by 40%. 4Bridging the structure gap between pellets in artificial dissolution media and in gastro-intestinal tract in rats显示文摘Changes in structure of oral solid dosage forms(OSDF) elementally determine the drug release and its therapeutic effects.In this research,synchrotron radiation X-ray micro-computed tomography was utilized to visualize the 3 D structure of enteric coated pellets recovered from the gastrointestinal tract of rats.The structures of pellets in solid state and in vitro compendium media were measured.Pellets in vivo underwent morphological and structural changes which differed significantly from those in vitro compendium media.Thus,optimizations of the dissolution media were performed to mimic the appropriate in vivo conditions by introducing pepsin and glass microspheres in media.The sphericity,pellet volume,pore volume and porosity of the in vivo esomeprazole magnesium pellets in stomach for2 h were recorded 0.47,1.55 × 10^(8)μm^(3),0.44 × 10^(8)μm^(3)and 27.6%,respectively.After adding pepsin and glass microspheres,the above parameters in vitro reached to 0.44,1.64 × 10^(8)μm^(3)0.38 × 10^(8)μm^(3)and 23.0%,respectively.Omeprazole magnesium pellets behaved similarly.The structural features of pellets between in vitro media and in vivo condition were bridged successfully in terms of 3 D structures to ensure better design,characterization and quality control of advanced OSDF.Hongyu Sun Siyu He Li Wu Zeying Cao Xian Sun Mingwei Xu Shan Lu Mingdi Xu Baoming Ning Huimin Sun Tiqiao Xiao Peter York Xu Xu Xianzhen Yin Jiwen Zhang 2022Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,1:1
5A pH-responsive mesoporous silica nanoparticles-based drug delivery system with controlled release of andrographolide for OA treatment显示文摘Andrographolide(AG)has favorable anti-inflammatory and antioxidative capacity.However,it has low bioavailability due to high lipophilicity and can be easily cleared by the synovial fluid after intra-articular injection,leading to low therapeutic efficiency in osteoarthritis(OA).Herein,we designed a nano-sized pH-responsive drug delivery system(DDS)for OA treatment by using modified mesoporous silica nanoparticles(MSNs)with pH-responsive polyacrylic acid(PAA)for loading of AG to form AG@MSNs-PAA nanoplatform.The nanoparticles have uniform size(120 nm),high drug loading efficiency(22.3860.71%)and pH-responsive properties,beneficial to sustained release in OA environment.Compared with AG,AG@MSNs-PAA showed enhanced antiarthritic efficacy and chondro-protective capacity based on IL-1b-stimulated chondrocytes and anterior cruciate ligament transection-induced rat OA model,as demonstrated by lower expression of inflammatory factors and better prevention of proteoglycan loss.Therefore,the AG@MSNs-PAA nanoplatform may be developed as a promising OA-specific and on-demand DDS.Mingwei He Zainen Qin Xiaonan Liang Xixi He Bikang Zhu Zhenhui Lu Qingjun Wei Li Zheng 2021Regenerative Biomaterials2021,8,4:1
6Analyzing Antarctic ice sheet snowmelt with dynamic Big Earth Data显示文摘Big Earth Data—big data associated with Earth sciences—can potentially revolutionize research on climate change,sustainable development,and other issues of global concern.For example,analyzing massive amounts of satellite imagery of polar environments,which are sensitive to the effects of climate change,provides insights into global climate trends.This study proposes a method to use Big Earth Data to explore changes in snowmelt over the Antarctic ice sheet from 1979 to 2016.The method uses Zernike moments to observe melt area in Antarctica and uses the Mann-Kendall test to detect temporal changes and abnormal information about the continent’s melt area.The melting trend in the time-series data matched the changes in temperature and seasonal transitions.The results do not demonstrate significant change in the area of surface melt;however,abrupt changes in melt conditions linked to temperature changes over the Antarctic ice sheet were observed within the time series.The experiment results demonstrate that the proposed method is robust,adaptive,and capable of extracting the core features of melting snow.Dong Liang Huadong Guo Lu Zhang Mingwei Wang Lizhe Wang Lei Liang Zeeshan Shirazi 2021International Journal of Digital Earth2021,14,1:1
7LncRNA HIF1A-AS2 accelerates malignant phenotypes of renal carcinoma by modulating miR-30a-5p/SOX4 axis as a ceRNA显示文摘Objective:Several reports have proposed that lnc RNAs,as potential biomarkers,participate in the progression and growth of malignant tumors.HIF1 A-AS2 is a novel lnc RNA and potential biomarker,involved in the genesis and development of carcinomas.However,the molecular mechanism of HIF1 A-AS2 in renal carcinoma is unclear.Methods:The relative expression levels of HIF1 A-AS2 and miR-30 a-5 p were detected using RT-qPCR in renal carcinoma tissues and cell lines.Using loss-of-function and overexpression,the biological effects of HIF1 A-AS2 and miR-30 a-5 p in kidney carcinoma progression were characterized.Dual luciferase reporter gene analysis and Western blot were used to detect the potential mechanism of HIF1 A-AS2 in renal carcinomas.Results:HIF1 A-AS2 was upregulated in kidney carcinoma tissues when compared with para-carcinoma tissues(P<0.05).In addition,tumor size,tumor node mestastasis stage and differentiation were identified as being closely associated with HIF1 A-AS2 expression(P<0.05).Knockdown or overexpression of HIF1 A-AS2 either restrained or promoted the malignant phenotype and WNT/β-catenin signaling in renal carcinoma cells(P<0.05).Mi R-30 a-5 p was downregulated in renal cancers and partially reversed HIF1 A-AS2 functions in malignant renal tumor cells.HIF1 A-AS2 acted as a micro RNA sponge that actively regulated the relative expression of SOX4 in sponging miR-30 a-5 p and subsequently increased the malignant phenotypes of renal carcinomas.HIF1 A-AS2 showed a carcinogenic effect and miR-30 a-5 p acted as an antagonist of the anti-oncogene effects in the pathogenesis of renal carcinomas.Conclusions:The HIF1 A-AS2-miR-30 a-5 p-SOX4 axis was associated with the malignant progression and development of renal carcinoma.The relative expression of HIF1 A-AS2 was negatively correlated with the expression of miR-30 a-5 p,and was closely correlated with SOX4 mRNA levels in renal cancers.Mingwei Chen Xuedong Wei Xiu Shi Le Lu Guangbo Zhang Yuhua Huang Jianquan Hou 2021Cancer Biology & Medicine2021,18,2:1
8Ultra-high strength yet superplasticity in a hetero-grain-sized nanocrystalline Au nanowire显示文摘Nanocrystalline metals often display a high strength up to the gigapascal level,yet they suffer from poor plasticity.Previous studies have shown that the development of hetero-sized grains can efficiently overcome the strength-ductility trade-off of nanocrystalline metals.However,whether this strategy can lead to the fabrication of nanocrystalline nanowires exhibiting both high strength and superplasticity is unclear,similar to the atomistic deformation mechanism.In this paper,we show that ultra-small nanocrystalline Au nanowires comprising grains in both the Hall–Petch and inverse Hall–Petch grain-size regions can exhibit extremely high uniform elongation(236%)and high strength(2.34 gigapascals)at room temperature.In situ atomic-scale observations revealed that the plastic deformation underwent two stages.In the first stage,the super-elongation ability originated from the intergrain plasticity of small grains via mechanisms such as grain boundary migration and grain rotation.This intergrain plasticity caused the grains in the heterogeneous-structured nanowires to grow very large.In the second stage,the superelongation ability originated from intragrain plasticity accompanied by the diffusion of surface atoms.Our results show that the hetero-grain-sized nanocrystalline nanowires,comprising grains with sizes both in the strongest Hall–Petch effect region and the inverse Hall–Petch effect region,were simultaneously ultrastrong and ductile.They displayed neither a strength-ductility trade-off nor plastic instability.Libo Fu Deli Kong Chengpeng Yang Jiao Teng Yan Lu Yizhong Guo Guo Yang Xin Yan Pan Liu Mingwei Chen Ze Zhang Lihua Wang Xiaodong Han 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,6:1

11A micromachined electrochemical angular accelerometer with highly integrated sensitive microelectrodes显示文摘This paper presents a micromachined electrochemical angular accelerometer with highly integrated sensitive microelectrodes.Theoretical analyses and numerical simulations were conducted to model the angular accelerometer with key geometrical parameters(e.g.,electrode spacing,via spacing and via size)optimized.Highly integrated sensitive microelectrodes were manufactured based on microfabrication and assembled to form MEMS-based electrochemical angular accelerometers.Device characterization was conducted,locating a sensitivity of 80 V/(rad/s^(2)),a bandwidth of 0.01–18 Hz and a noise level of 3.98×10^(−8)(rad/s^(2))/√Hz.In comparison to a previously reported electrochemical angular microaccelerometer,a significant improvement in sensitivity(80 V/(rad/s^(2))vs.10 V/(rad/s^(2)))was achieved due to the new structure of sensitive microelectrodes.These results indicated the potential of the developed MEMS-based electrochemical angular accelerometer in seismology,including natural disaster monitoring and resource exploration.Tian Liang Bowen Liu Mingwei Chen Yulan Lu Jian Chen Deyong Chen Junbo Wang 2022Microsystems & Nanoengineering2022,8,5:0

13A new electrochemical angular microaccelerometer with integrated sensitive electrodes perpendicular to flow channels显示文摘A new electrochemical angular microaccelerometer with integrated sensitive electrodes perpendicular to flow channels was developed in this paper.Based on a liquid inertial mass,an incoming angular acceleration was translated into varied concentrations of reactive ions around sensitive microelectrodes,generating a detection current.Key structural parameters of the sensitive microelectrodes were designed and compared based on theoretical analysis and numerical simulations.An angular microaccelerometer incorporating sensitive microelectrodes was then fabricated,assembled and characterized,producing a sensitivity of 338 V/(rad/s^(2)),a-3 dB bandwidth of 0.01-10 Hz and a noise level of 4.67×10^(-8)(rad/s^(2))/Hz^(1/2)@1 Hz.These performances were better than their commercial counterparts based on traditional electrodes and previously reported microaccelerometers based on microsensitive electrodes in parallel with flow channels,which can be applied to measure rotational accelerations in earthquakes and buildings.Bowen Liu Tian Liang Wenje Qi Anxiang Zhong Mingwei Chen Yulan Lu Jian Chen Deyong Chen Junbo Wang 2022Microsystems & Nanoengineering2022,8,4:0

15Endoplasmic reticulum stress-induced NLRP3 inflammasome activation as a novel mechanism of polystyrene microplastics (PS-MPs)-induced pulmonary inflammation in chickens显示文摘Microplastics(MPs)have attracted growing attention worldwide as an increasingly prevalent environmental pollutant.In addition,chicken meat is currently the most widely consumed kind of poultry in the global market.Consumer demand for chicken is on the rise both at home and abroad.As a result,the safety of chicken raising has also received significant attention.The lungs play an essential role in the physiological activities of chickens,and they are also the most vulnerable organs.Lung injury is difficult to repair after the accumulation of contaminants,and the mortality rate is high,which brings huge economic losses to farmers.The research on the toxicity of MPs has mainly focused on the marine ecosystem,while the mechanisms of toxicity and lung damage in chickens have been poorly studied.Thus,this study explored the effects of exposure to polystyrene microplastics(PS-MPs)at various concentrations for 42 d on chicken lungs.PS-MPs could cause lung pathologies and ultrastructural abnormalities,such as endoplasmic reticulum(ER)swelling,inflammatory cell infiltration,chromatin agglutination,and plasma membrane rupture.Simultaneously,PS-MPs increased the expression of genes related to the heat shock protein family(Hsp60,Hsp70,and Hsp90),ER stress signaling(activating) transcription factor 6(ATF0),ATF4,protein kinase RNA-like ER kinase(PERK),and eukaryotic translation initiation factor 2 subunitα(eIF2a),pyroptosis-related genes(NOD)-,LRR-and pyrin domain-containing protein 3(NLRP3),apoptosis-associated speck-like protein containing a caspase recruitment domain(ASC),interleukin-1β(IL-1β),cysteinyl aspartate-specific proteinase 1(Caspasel),and gasdermin-D(GSDMD),and the inflammatory signaling pathway(nuclear factor-kB(NF-kB),inducible nitric oxide synthase(iNOS),and cyclooxygenase-2(COX-2).The above results showed that PS-MP exposure could result in lung stress,ER stress,pyroptosis,and inflammation in broilers.Our findings provide new scientific clues for further research on the mechanisms of physical health and toxicology regardingMPs.Hongmin LU Tiantian GUO Yue ZHANG Dewang LIU Lulu HOU Chengxue MA Mingwei XING 2024Journal of Zhejiang University-Science B(Biomedicine & Biotechnology)2024,25,3:0
