1Key residues of the receptor binding motif in the spike protein of SARS-CoV-2 that interact with ACE2 and neutralizing antibodies显示文摘Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19),caused by the novel human coronavirus SARS-CoV-2,is currently a major threat to public health worldwide.The viral spike protein binds the host receptor angiotensin-converting enzyme 2(ACE2)via the receptor-binding domain(RBD),and thus is believed to be a major target to block viral entry.Both SARS-CoV-2 and SARS-CoV share this mechanism.Here we functionally analyzed the key amino acid residues located within receptor binding motif of RBD that may interact with human ACE2 and available neutralizing antibodies.The in vivo experiments showed that immunization with either the SARS-CoV RBD or SARS-CoV-2 RBD was able to induce strong clade-specific neutralizing antibodies in mice;however,the cross-neutralizing activity was much weaker,indicating that there are distinct antigenic features in the RBDs of the two viruses.This finding was confirmed with the available neutralizing monoclonal antibodies against SARS-CoV or SARS-CoV-2.It is worth noting that a newly developed SARS-CoV-2 human antibody,HA001,was able to neutralize SARS-CoV-2,but failed to recognize SARS-CoV.Moreover,the potential epitope residues of HA001 were identified as A475 and F486 in the SARS-CoV-2 RBD,representing new binding sites for neutralizing antibodies.Overall,our study has revealed the presence of different key epitopes between SARS-CoV and SARSCoV-2,which indicates the necessity to develop new prophylactic vaccine and antibody drugs for specific control of the COVID-19 pandemic although the available agents obtained from the SARS-CoV study are unneglectable.Chunyan Yi Xiaoyu Sun Jing Ye Longfei Ding Meiqin Liu Zhuo Yang Xiao Lu Yaguang Zhang Liyang Ma Wangpeng Gu Aidong Qu Jianqing Xu Zhengli Shi Zhiyang Ling Bing Sun 2020Cellular & Molecular Immunology2020,17,6:13
2Humoral immune response to circulating SARS-CoV-2 variants elicited by inactivated and RBD-subunit vaccines显示文摘SARS-CoV-2 variants could induce immune escape by mutations on the receptor-binding domain(RBD)and N-terminal domain(NTD).Here we report the humoral immune response to circulating SARS-CoV-2 variants,such as 501Y.V2(B.1.351),of the plasma and neutralizing antibodies(NAbs)elicited by CoronaVac(inactivated vaccine),ZF2001(RBD-subunit vaccine)and natural infection.Among 86 potent NAbs identified by high-throughput single-cell VDJ sequencing of peripheral blood mononuclear cells from vaccinees and convalescents,near half anti-RBD NAbs showed major neutralization reductions against the K417N/E484K/N501Y mutation combination,with E484K being the dominant cause.VH3-53/VH3-66 recurrent antibodies respond differently to RBD variants,and K417N compromises the majority of neutralizing activity through reduced polar contacts with complementarity determining regions.In contrast,the 242–244 deletion(242–244Δ)would abolish most neutralization activity of anti-NTD NAbs by interrupting the conformation of NTD antigenic supersite,indicating a much less diversity of anti-NTD NAbs than anti-RBD NAbs.Plasma of convalescents and CoronaVac vaccinees displayed comparable neutralization reductions against pseudo-and authentic 501Y.V2 variants,mainly caused by E484K/N501Y and 242–244Δ,with the effects being additive.Importantly,RBD-subunit vaccinees exhibit markedly higher tolerance to 501Y.V2 than convalescents,since the elicited anti-RBD NAbs display a high diversity and are unaffected by NTD mutations.Moreover,an extended gap between the third and second doses of ZF2001 leads to better neutralizing activity and tolerance to 501Y.V2 than the standard three-dose administration.Together,these results suggest that the deployment of RBD-vaccines,through a third-dose boost,may be ideal for combating SARS-CoV-2 variants when necessary,especially for those carrying mutations that disrupt the NTD supersite.Yunlong Cao Ayijiang Yisimayi Yali Bai Weijin Huang Xiaofeng Li Zhiying Zhang Tianjiao Yuan Ran An Jing Wang Tianhe Xiao Shuo Du Wenping Ma Liyang Song Yongzheng Li Xiang Li Weiliang Song Jiajing Wu Shuo Liu Xuemei Li Yonghong Zhang Bin Su Xianghua Guo Yangyang Wei Chuanping Gao Nana Zhang Yifei Zhang Yang Dou Xiaoyu Xu Rui Shi Bai Lu Ronghua Jin Yingmin Ma Chengfeng Qin Youchun Wang Yingmei Feng Junyu Xiao Xiaoliang Sunney Xie 2021Cell Research2021,31,7:12

4Progress of Jinping Underground laboratory for Nuclear Astrophysics(JUNA)显示文摘Jinping Underground laboratory for Nuclear Astrophysics(JUNA) will take the advantage of the ultra-low background of CJPL lab and high current accelerator based on an ECR source and a highly sensitive detector to directly study for the first time a number of crucial reactions occurring at their relevant stellar energies during the evolution of hydrostatic stars. In its first phase, JUNA aims at the direct measurements of^(25)Mg(p,γ)^(26)Al,^(19)F(p,α)^(16)O,^(13)C(α,n)^(16)O and ^(12)C(α,γ)^(16)O reactions. The experimental setup,which includes an accelerator system with high stability and high intensity, a detector system, and a shielding material with low background, will be established during the above research. 5Total ionizing radiation effects of 2-T SONOS for 130 nm/4 Mb NOR flash memory technology显示文摘In this paper,we have studied the total ionizing dose(TID)radiation response up to 2 Mrad(Si)of silicon-oxide-nitride-oxide-silicon(SONOS)memory cells and memory circuits,fabricated in a 130 nm complimentary metal-oxide-semiconductor(CMOS)SONOS technology.We explored the threshold voltage(VT)degradation mechanism and found that the VT shifts of SONOS cells depend on the charge state;simply programming the cell to a higher VT cannot compensate for the radiation induced VT loss.The off-state current(Ioff)increase in the SONOS cell is also studied in this paper.Both VT and Ioffdegradation would affect the memory system.Read data failures are mainly caused by VT shifts under irradiation,and program and erase failures are mainly caused by increased Ioff,which overloads the charge pumping circuit.By varying the reference current,our 4 Mb NOR flash chip has the potential to survive a radiation dose of 1 Mrad(Si)in read mode.QIAO FengYing PAN LiYang YU Xiao MA HaoZhi WU Dong XU Jun 2014Science China(Information Sciences)2014,57,6:3
6Dietary calcium requirements of broilers fed a conventional corn-soybean meal diet from 1 to 21 days of age显示文摘Background:The current calcium(Ca)recommendation for broilers is primarily based on studies conducted more than 30 years ago with birds of markedly different productive potentials from those which exist today.And the response indicators in these studies are mainly growth performance and bone ash percentage.Therefore,the present study was carried out to investigate the effect of dietary Ca level on growth performance,serum parameters,bone characteristics and Ca metabolism-related gene expressions,so as to estimate dietary Ca requirements of broilers fed a conventional corn-soybean meal diet from 1 to 21 days of age.Methods:A total of 4201-day-old Arbor Acres male broilers were randomly assigned to 1 of 7 treatments with 6 replicates(10 birds per cage)and fed the corn-soybean meal diets containing 0.60%,0.70%,0.80%,0.90%,1.00%,1.10%or 1.20%Ca for 21 days.Each diet contained the constant non-phytate phosphorus content of about 0.39%.Results:The average daily gain decreased linearly(P<0.001)as dietary Ca level increased.The serum and tibia alkaline phosphatase(ALP)activities,tibia bone mineral density(BMD),middle toe BMD,tibia ash percentage,tibia breaking strength,and tibia ALP protein expression level were affected(P<0.05)by dietary Ca level,and showed significant quadratic responses(P<0.02)to dietary Ca levels.The estimates of dietary Ca requirements were 0.80 to 1.00%based on the best fitted broken-line or quadratic models(P<0.03)of the above serum and bone parameters,respectively.Conclusions:The results from the present study indicate that the Ca requirements would be about 0.60%to obtain the best growth rate,and 1.00%to meet all of the Ca metabolisms and bone development of broilers fed a conventional corn-soybean meal diet from 1 to 21 days of age.Shiping Bai Yunfeng Yang Xuelian Ma Xiudong Liao Runlian Wang Liyang Zhang Sufen Li Xugang Luo Lin Lu 2022Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2022,13,4:2
7Analysis and comparison of failure causes of minimally invasive surgical closure of ventricular septal defects in children显示文摘Objectives The aims of the present study were to explore the causes of minimally invasive surgical ventricular septal defect(VSD)closure failure under transesophageal echocardiography guidance and thus to improve the success rate of surgical VSD closure.Methods From January 2015 to December 2019,522 children with VSD underwent minimally invasive surgical closure.Nineteen procedures(3.64%)were unsuccessful.The failure causes,VSD locations and surgical incision approaches were retrospectively analyzed.Results Among the 19 patients(3.64%)with unsuccessful outcomes,18 were switched to cardiopulmonary bypass(CPB)surgery,and 1 was closed successfully using an occlusion device a year later.The causes of failure included occlusion device shedding or shifting(n=6),failure of the guidewire(or the sheath)to pass through a small defect(n=5),device-related valve regurgitation(n=4),significant residual shunt(n=2),ventricular fibrillation(n=1),and continuous sharp blood pressure decreases(n=1).Patients with high VSD had a slightly higher failure rate than those with perimembranous VSD(p=0.049),and its key reason is the high proportion of occlusion device shedding or shifting(p=0.005).No significant difference in the failure rate was found between patients with different surgical incision approaches.Conclusions Minimally invasive surgery has a high success rate for perimembranous VSDs.Occlusion device shedding or shifting is the most common cause of failure.The shedding or shifting risk of eccentric occlusion devices being used only for high VSDs is much greater than that of concentric occlusion devices being used for perimembranous VSDs,which increases the risk of conversion to CPB surgery for high VSDs.Jin Yu Zhuo Shi Jingjing Qian Lianglong Ma Baofu Zhang Liyang Ying Qiang Shu 2023World Journal of Pediatric Surgery2023,6,1:0

9Neuroprotective effects of ProBeptigen/CMI-168 on aging-induced cognitive decline and neuroinflammation in mice:a comparison with essence of chicken显示文摘Neuroinflammation and cognitive decline are the key pathological features in aging that bring detrimental impacts upon quality of life.However,there is no effective anti-aging pharmacological therapy thus far.Dietary supplements in particular essence of chicken(EC)has been found to be an effective remedy for alleviating mental stress and improving memory.In addition,a novel hydrolyzed chicken extract,ProBeptigen/CMI-168(PB),showed beneficial effects on cognitive ability.However,the antiaging effect and possible mechanism of PB and EC are still unknown.Here,we investigated the antiaging effects of PB and EC on hippocampus-related cognitive decline and neuroinflammation in aged mice.PB and EC were administered for 16 weeks in 10-month-old mice.Both PB and EC treatments ameliorated age-related deterioration of learning and memory,and attenuated oxidative stress and inflammation in the hippocampus.These results were associated with decreased inflammatory cytokine levels and increased neurotransmitter levels in the hippocampus.The overall effects of improving aging-induced cognitive decline were more robust in PB-treated mice,while EC was effective in decreasing oxidative stress and inflammation.Moreover,alterations in the diversity and composition of the gut microbiota in aged mice were also regulated by both PB and EC,which induced distinguished features in the gut microbiota and their related functions.This study showed that PB exerts neuroprotective effects in aged mice,the mechanism of which might be different from that of EC.Therefore,PB has a potential as dietary supplement for ameliorating cognitive dysfunction and neuroinflammation in elderly individuals.Yinhua Ni Liyang Ni Lingyan Ma Zhe Wang Yufeng Zhao Luting Hu Liujie Zheng Zhengwei Fu 2021Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2021,53,4:0
10Quantitative Analysis of Kruppel‑Like Factor 5‑Related Messenger RNA Transcripts in Ischemic Myocardium for Discrimination of Death Causes显示文摘Background:Accumulated studies have demonstrated that Kruppel‑like factor 5(KLF5),a transcription factor,plays an important role in regulating cell proliferation and tissue remodeling through the expression of its downstream genes.KLF5‑related factors are expected to be involved in the healing process after myocardial injury or myocardial ischemic changes,especially for the forensic diagnosis of myocardial ischemic physiopathology.Aim and Objectives:This study aimed to explore the discrimination ability and applicability of KLF5-related factors in SCD caused by MI compared with other causes of death to provide further insights into the forensic diagnosis of myocardial ischemic pathology.Materials and Methods:The relative quantification of F‑Box and WD Repeat Domain Containing 7(FBW7),KLF5,factor‑binding protein(FGFBP)1,and FGFBP2 messenger RNAs(mRNAs)in myocardial tissue samples was performed using real‑time fluorescence quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction.KLF5 and FGFBP1/2 protein levels were examined using immunohistochemistry(IHC).The forensic autopsy cases(27 in total,autopsy within 72 h postmortem)included seven cases of acute myocardial infarction and 10 cases of acute myocardial ischemia.There were 10 cases in the control group,including four cases of traffic injury one case of injury by fall from height,one case of electric death,and four cases of blunt force injury.Results:Characteristic results were found in myocardial samples from three groups of deaths:KLF5 and FGFBP1 mRNA levels were significantly elevated in the infarction and ischemia groups,while FBW7 mRNA levels were significantly decreased.FBW7 is an important ubiquitin ligase that can mediate the degradation of KLF5 protein.In addition,FBW7 and FGFBP2 mRNA levels were decreased in the infarction group compared with the ischemia group.The IHC results were consistent with the observed mRNA expression patterns.Conclusions:Quantitative detection of FBW7,KLF5,FGFBP1,and FGFBP2 mRNA transcripts in myocardial tissues supports the pathophysiological study of myocardial ischemic diseases and provides molecular pathological evidence for forensic discrimination of death causes.Xingyu Ma Yeming Li Ya Xi Liyang Su Yuxing Tong Chun Wang Tianshui Yu Dong Zhao 2022Journal of Forensic Science and Medicine2022,8,4:0

12High threshold voltage enhancement-mode GaN p-FET with Sirich LPCVD SiN_(x) gate insulator for high hole mobility显示文摘In this work,the GaN p-MISFET with LPCVD-SiN_(x) is studied as a gate dielectric to improve device performance.By changing the Si/N stoichiometry of SiN_(x),it is found that the channel hole mobility can be effectively enhanced with Si-rich SiN_(x) gate dielectric,which leads to a respectably improved drive current of GaN p-FET.The record high channel mobility of 19.4 cm2/(V∙s)was achieved in the device featuring an Enhancement-mode channel.Benefiting from the significantly improved channel mobility,the fabricated E-mode GaN p-MISFET is capable of delivering a decent-high current of 1.6 mA/mm,while simultaneously featuring a negative threshold-voltage(VTH)of–2.3 V(defining at a stringent criteria of 10μA/mm).The device also exhibits a well pinch-off at 0 V with low leakage current of 1 nA/mm.This suggests that a decent E-mode operation of the fabricated p-FET is obtained.In addition,the VTH shows excellent stability,while the threshold-voltage hysteresisΔVTH is as small as 0.1 V for a gate voltage swing up to–10 V,which is among the best results reported in the literature.The results indicate that optimizing the Si/N stoichiometry of LPCVD-SiN_(x) is a promising approach to improve the device performance of GaN p-MISFET.Liyang Zhu Kuangli Chen Ying Ma Yong Cai Chunhua Zhou Zhaoji Li Bo Zhang Qi Zhou 2023Journal of Semiconductors2023,44,8:0

14Polarization insensitive metamaterial absorber based on E-shaped all-dielectric structure显示文摘In this paper,we designed a metamaterial absorber performed in microwave frequency band.This absorber is composed of E-shaped dielectrics which are arranged along different directions.The E-shaped all-dielectric structure is made of microwave ceramics with high permittivity and low loss.Within about 1 GHz frequency band,more than 86%absorption efficiency was observed for this metamaterial absorber.This absorber is polarization insensitive and is stable for incident angles.It is figured out that the polarization insensitive absorption is caused by the nearly located varied resonant modes which are excited by the E-shaped all-dielectric resonators with the same size but in the different direction.The E-shaped dielectric absorber contains intensive resonant points.Our research work paves a way for designing all-dielectric absorber.Liyang Li Jun Wang Hua Ma Jiafu Wang Hongliang Du Shaobo Qu 2015Journal of Advanced Dielectrics2015,5,1:0
15Metabolic utilization of intravenously injected iron from different iron sources in target tissues of broiler chickens显示文摘No information is available regarding the utilization of iron (Fe) from different Fe sources at a targettissue level. To detect differences in Fe metabolic utilization among Fe sources, the effect of intravenouslyinjected Fe on growth performance, hematological indices, tissue Fe concentrations and Fe-containingenzyme activities and gene expressions of Fe-containing enzymes or protein in broilers was investigated.On d 22 post-hatching, a total of 432 male chickens were randomly allotted to 1 of 9 treatments ina completely randomized design. Chickens were injected with either a 0.9% (wt/vol) NaCl solution(control) or a 0.9% NaCl solution supplemented with Fe sulphate or 1 of 3 organic Fe sources. The 3organic Fe sources were Fe chelates with weak (Fe-MetW), moderate (Fe-ProtM) or extremely strong (Fe-ProtES) chelation strength. The 2 Fe dosages were calculated according to the Fe absorbabilities of 10%and 20% every 2 d for a duration of 20 d. Iron injection did not affect (P > 0.05) ADFI, ADG or FCR duringeither 1 to 10 d or 11 to 20 d after injections. Hematocrit and Fe concentrations in the liver and kidney ond 10 after Fe injections, and Fe concentrations in the liver or pancreas and ferritin heavy-chain (FTH1)protein expression level in the liver or spleen on d 20 after Fe injections increased (P≤0.05) as injectedFe dosages increased. When the injected Fe level was high at 20% Fe absorbability, the chickens injectedwith Fe-ProtES had lower (P < 0.001) liver or kidney Fe concentrations and spleen FTH1 protein levelsthan those injected with Fe-MetW or Fe-ProtM on d 20 after injections. And they had lower (P < 0.05)liver cytochrome C oxidase mRNA levels on d 20 after injections than those injected with Fe-MetW or Fesulphate. 16All-dielectric metamaterial frequency selective surface显示文摘Frequency selective surface(FSS)has been extensively studied due to its potential applications in radomes,antenna reflectors,high-impedance surfaces and absorbers.Recently,a new principle of designing FSS has been proposed and mainly studied in two levels.In the level of materials,dielectric materials instead of metallic patterns are capable of achieving more functional performance in FSS design.Moreover,FSSs made of dielectric materials can be used in different extreme environments,depending on their electrical,thermal or mechanical properties.In the level of design principle,the theory of metamaterial can be used to design FSS in a convenient and concise way.In this review paper,we provide a brief summary about the recent progress in all-dielectric metamaterial frequency selective surface(ADM-FSS).The basic principle of designing ADM-FSS is summarized.As significant tools,Mie theory and dielectric resonator(DR)theory are given which illustrate clearly how they are used in the FSS design.Then,several design cases including dielectric particle-based ADM-FSS and dielectric network-based ADM-FSS are introduced and reviewed.After a discussion of these two types of ADM-FSSs,we reviewed the existing fabrication techniques that are used in building the experiment samples.Finally,issues and challenges regarding the rapid fabrication techniques and further development aspects are discussed.Jun Wang Shaobo Qu Liyang Li Jiafu Wang Mingde Feng Hua Ma Hongliang Du Zhuo Xu 2017Journal of Advanced Dielectrics2017,7,5:0

In this paper, a least significant bit(LSB) page refresh based retention recovery scheme is proposed to improve the retention reliability of highly scaled MLC NAND Flash. As in the scheme, LSB page refresh operation induces floating gate electron re-injection to compensate charge leakage during long retention time, and realizes retention error rate reduction. Experiment result on 2x-nm MLC NAND Flash exhibits more than 78% retention error rate reduction.
