1Research progress on silicon/carbon composite anode materials for lithium-ion battery显示文摘Silicon(Si) has been considered as one of the most promising anode material for the next generation lithium-ion batteries(LIBs) with high energy densities, due to its high theoretical capacity, abundant availability and environmental friendliness. However, silicon materials with low intrinsic electric and ionic conductivity suffer from huge volume variation during lithiation/delithiation processes leading to the pulverization of Si and subsequently resulting in severe capacity fading of the electrodes. Coupling of Si with carbon(C) realizes a favorable combination of the two materials properties, such as high lithiation capacity of Si and excellent mechanical and conductive properties of C, making silicon/carbon composite(Si/C) ideal candidates for LIBs anodes. In this review, recent progresses of Si/C materials utilized in LIBs are summarized in terms of structural design principles, material synthesis methods, morphological characteristics and electrochemical performances by highlighting the material structures. The mechanisms behind the performance enhancement are also discussed. Moreover, other factors that affect the performance of Si/C anodes, such as prelithiation, electrolyte additives, and binders, are also discussed. 2Notch signaling mediated by TGF-β/Smad pathway in concanavalin A-induced liver fibrosis in rats显示文摘AIM To explore the exact interaction between Notch and transforming growth factor(TGF)-β signaling in liver fibrosis. METHODS We established a rat model of liver fibrosis induced by concanavalin A. Peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMCs) were isolated from the modeled rats, and cultured with γ-secretase inhibitor DAPT and TGF-β inhibitor for 24 h. The m RNA levels of Notch and TGF-β signaling were detected by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction. Expression of Notch and TGF-β proteins was analyzed by western blotting.RESULTS Compared to control rats, Notch and TGF-β signaling was activated in PBMCs of model rats. Administration of DAPT and TGF-β inhibitor suppressed Notch and TGF-β signal transducer in PBMCs of model rats. DAPT reduced m RNA and protein expression of TGF-β signaling, such as TGF-β1 and Smad3. TGF-β inhibitor also downregulated Notch1, Hes1 and Hes5, and m RNA and protein expression of the Notch signaling pathway.CONCLUSION Notch and TGF-β signaling play a role in liver fibrosis. 5Whole-Genome Resequencing of a Worldwide Collection of Rapeseed Accessions Reveals the Genetic Basis of Ecotype Divergence显示文摘Rapeseed (Brassica napus),an important oilseed crop,has adapted to diverse climate zones and latitudes by forming three main ecotype groups,namely winter,semiwinter,and spring types. However,genetic variations underlying the divergence of these ecotypes are largely unknown. Here,we report the global pattern of genetic polymorphisms in rapeseed determined by resequencing a worldwide collection of 991 germplasm accessions.A total of 5.56 and 5.53 million singlenucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs)as Well as 1.86 and 1.92 million InDels were identified by mapping reads to the reference genomes of 'Darmor-bzh'and 'Tapidor,'respectively.We generated a map of allelic drift paths that shows splits and mixtures of the main populations,and revealed an asymmetric evolution of the two subgenomes of B.napus by calculating the genetic diversity and linkage disequilibrium parameters.Selective-sweep analysis revealed genetic changes in genes orthologous to those regulating various aspects of plant development and response to stresses.A genome-wide association study identified SNPs in the promoter regions of FLOWERING LOCUS T and FLOWERING LOCUS C orthologs that corresponded to the different rapeseed ecotype groups. 6Xa7, a new executor R gene that confers durable and broad-spectrum resistance to bacterial blight disease in rice显示文摘Bacterial blight(BB)is a globally devastating rice disease caused by Xanthomonas oryzae pv.oryzae(Xoo).The use of disease resistance(R)genes in rice breeding is an effective and economical strategy for the control of this disease.Nevertheless,a majority of R genes lack durable resistance for long-term use under global warming conditions.Here,we report the isolation of a novel executor R gene,Xa7,that confers extremely durable,broad-spectrum,and heat-tolerant resistance to Xoo.The expression of Xa7 was induced by incompatible Xoo strains that secreted the transcription activator-like effector(TALE)AvrXa7 or PthXo3,which recognized effector binding elements(EBEs)in the Xa7 promoter.Furthermore,Xa7 induction was faster and stronger under high temperatures.Overexpression of Xa7 or co-transformation of Xa7 with avrXa7 triggered a hypersensitive response in plants.Constitutive expression of Xa7 activated a defense response in the absence of Xoo but inhibited the growth of transgenic rice plants.In addition,analysis of over 3000 rice varieties showed that the Xa7 locuswas found primarily in the indica and aus subgroups.A variation consisting of an 11-bp insertion and a base substitution(G to T)was found in EBEAvrXa7 in the tested varieties,resulting in a loss of Xa7 BB resistance.Through a decade of effort,we have identified an important BB resistance gene and characterized its distinctive interaction with Xoo strains;these findings will greatly facilitate research on the molecular mechanism of Xa7-mediated resistance and promote the use of this valuable gene in breeding.Xifeng Chen Pengcheng Liu Le Mei Xiaoling He Long Chen Hui Liu Shurong Shen Zhandong Ji Xixi Zheng Yuchen Zhang Zhenyu Gao Dali Zeng Qian Qian Bojun Ma 2021Plant Communications2021,2,3:9

10Ni nanoparticles supported on carbon as efficient catalysts for steam reforming of toluene(model tar)显示文摘This paper investigated the influences of surface properties of carbon support and nickel precursors(nickel nitrate, nickel chloride and nickel acetate) on Ni nanoparticle sizes and catalytic performances for steam reforming of toluene. Treatment with nitric acid helped to increase the amount of functional groups on the surface and hydrophilic nature of carbon support, leading to a homogeneous distribution of Ni nanoparticles. The thermal decomposition products of nickel precursor also played an important role, Ni nanoparticles supported on carbon treated with acid using nickel nitrate as the precursor exhibited the smallest mean diameter of 4.5 nm. With the loading amount increased from 6 wt% to 18 wt%, the mean particle size of Ni nanoparticles varied from4.5 nm to 9.1 nm. The as-prepared catalyst showed a high catalytic activity and a good stability for toluene steam reforming: 98.1% conversion of toluene was obtained with the Ni content of 12 wt% and the S/C ratio of3, and the conversion only decreased to 92.0% after 700 min. 12Downregulation of KCTD12 contributes to melanoma stemness by modulating CD271显示文摘Objective: Cancer metastasis remains the primary cause of cancer-related death worldwide.In a previous study, we found that levels of BTB/POZ domain-containing protein KCTD12 are lower in metastatic melanoma cells than in parental melanoma cells.The purpose of this study was to identify the roles of KCTD12 in cancer metastasis.Methods: The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA) datasets were used to evaluate the relationship between KCTD12 and skin cutaneous melanoma(SKCM) prognosis.The effects of endogenous KCTD12 on biological behaviors were examined using the MTT assay.The impacts of KCTD12 on melanoma stemness were explored using spheroid formation assay.KCTD12 knockout A375 cells were generated to confirm the inhibitory effect of KCTD12 on CD271, and a mouse metastatic model was used to determine the impact of KCTD12 on melanoma metastasis in vivo.Results: KCTD12 levels were lower in lung metastatic cells than in paired parental melanoma cells, and low KCTD12 expression indicated a poor prognosis in SKCM.Cancer metastasis-related capacities were higher in lung metastatic cells than in parental melanoma cells.Moreover, KCTD12 knockdown enhanced tumor growth and metastasis both in vitro and in vivo.Mechanistically, the interaction between KCTD12 and CD271 might be responsible for the stemness transformation after KCTD12 knockdown.Conclusions: This study identifies for the first time the role of the interaction between KCTD12 and CD271 in inducing melanoma cell stemness transformation.Moreover, KCTD12 repression enhances melanoma cell growth, adhesion, migration and invasion.Weiyu Shen Yumei Li Bifei Li Liping Zheng Xiaodong Xie Jingqing Le Yusheng Lu Tao Li Fan Chen Lee Jia 2019Cancer Biology & Medicine2019,16,3:4
13Comparison of yield performance between direct-seeded and transplanted double-season rice using ultrashort-duration varieties in central China显示文摘Labor scarcity requires double-season rice to be planted by direct seeding as an alternative to transplanting. Only ultrashort-duration varieties can be used in direct-seeded, double-season rice(DSD) in central China where thermal time is limited. Whether ultrashort-duration varieties grown in DSD can be as productive and efficient in nitrogen(N) use as transplanted double-season rice(TPD) remains unclear. Field experiments were conducted in Hubei province, central China with two establishment methods(DSD,TPD) and three N rates in the early and late seasons of 2017 and 2018. Nitrogen treatments included zero-N control(N0), total N rate of 60 kg N ha;with equal splits at basal, midtillering, and panicle initiation(N1), and weekly N application at 15 kg ha;from seeding/transplanting to heading(N2). Both early-and late-season rice under DSD matured within 95 days, on average 9 days shorter than rice under TPD. The grain yield of DSD was comparable to or higher than that of TDP in both seasons, although the daily yield was significantly higher under DSD than under TDP. Before heading, DSD had higher leaf area,stem number, intercepted radiation, and radiation use efficiency than TPD, which compensated for the negative effect of short growth duration on biomass production. Total dry weight and harvest index under DSD were comparable to or higher than those under TDP. In general, the recovery efficiency of fertilizer-N under DSD was higher than that under TPD, but the reverse was true for physiological N use efficiency. Thus, there was no significant difference in agronomic N use efficiency between DSD and TPD. 18Evaluation of Risk Factors for Arytenoid Dislocation after Endotracheal Intubation: a Retrospective Case-control Study显示文摘Objective To investigate the risk factors for postoperative arytenoid dislocation. Methods From September 2003 to August 2013, the records of 16 patients with a history of postoperative arytenoid dislocation were reviewed. Patients matched in terms of date and type of procedures were chosen as the controls(n=16). Recorded data for all patients were demographics, smoking status, alcoholic status, preoperative physical status, airway evaluation, intubation procedures, preoperative laboratory test results, anesthetic consumption and intensive care unit stay. For arytenoid dislocation cases, we further analyzed the incidences of the left and right arytenoid dislocation, and the outcomes of surgical repair and conservative treatment. Categorical variables were presented as frequencies and percentages, and were compared using the chi-squared test. Continuous variables were expressed as means±SD and compared using the Student's unpaired t-test. To determine the predictors of arytenoid dislocation, a logistic regression model was used for multivariate analysis. Results Sixteen patients with postoperative arytenoid dislocation were enrolled, with a median age of 52 years. Most postoperative arytenoid dislocation patients(15/16, 93.75%) received surgical repair, except one patient who recovered after conservative treatment. None of the postoperative arytenoid dislocation patients were smokers. Red blood cell(P=0.044) and hemoglobin(P=0.031) levels were significantly lower among arytenoid dislocation cases compared with the controls. Conclusions Non-smoking and anemic patients may be susceptible to postoperative arytenoid dislocation. 19Characteristics and Microstructure of a Hypereutectic Al-Si Alloy Powder by Ultrasonic Gas Atomization Process显示文摘A hypereutectic Al-Si alloy powder was prepared by ultrasonic gas atomization process. The morphologies, microstructure and phase constituent of the alloy powder were studied.
