1The formation and evolution of Chepaizi-Mosuowan paleo-uplift and its control on the distributions of sedimentary facies in the Junggar Basin显示文摘The Chepaizi-Mosuowan paleo-uplift is a large-scale uplift stretching across the Junggar Basin formed during the Yanshanian. It has experienced four evolutionary stages: the initial forming stage (J1), the intense development stage (J2+3), the waning and burial stage (K-E), and the tilting and extinction stage (N-Q). The most intense period of activities is the Middle Jurassic. Dur-ing the Early Jurassic, the Chepaizi-Mosuowan paleo-structure was a low amplitude uplift. Because of the subsequent strong uplifting during Middle-Late Jurassic, the Middle and Upper Jurassic were eroded. With the evolution of the Chepaizi-Mosuowan paleo-uplift, the sedimentary pattern of the basin changed, and the paleo-uplift separated the northern depositional systems from those in the south side. As a result, the basin tectonics controlled the distribution and evolution of the depositional systems. During Early Jurassic, while the paleo-uplift was low, its controlling effect on depositional systems was limited and sediments coming from the northwest could reach the central and southern parts of the basin. With the strong uplifting of the Chepaizi-Mosuowan paleo-structure during Middle-Late Jurassic, sediments from the northwest provenance could only deposit in the northern graben of the paleo-uplift. The intense erosion of the Middle-Upper Jurassic also changed the former sedimentary center of the basin into a source area, supplying sediments for grabens on both sides of the paleo-uplift. In the Cretaceous, regional subsidence caused the paleo-uplift to be buried again and subsequently sediments accumulated on top of it. The depositional facies are dominated by fluvial in the Early Cretaceous and shallow lacustrine to deltaic in the Late Cretaceous. 2Counteraction of ABA-Mediated Inhibition of Seed Germination and Seedling Establishment by ABA Signaling Terminator in Arabidopsis显示文摘Seed germination and seedling establishment are important for the reproductive success of plants,but seeds and seedlings typically encounter constantly changing environmental conditions.By inhibiting seed germination and post-germinative growth through the PYR1/PYL/RCAR ABA receptors and PP2C co-receptors,the phytohormone abscisic acid(ABA)prevents premature germination and seedling growth under unfavorable conditions.However,little is known about how the ABA-mediated inhibition of seed germination and seedling establishment is thwarted.Here,we report that ABA Signaling Terminator(ABT),a WD40 protein,efficiently switches off ABA signaling and is critical for seed germination and seedling establishment.ABT is induced by ABA in a PYR1/PYL/RCAR-PP2C-dependent manner.Overexpression of ABT promotes seed germination and seedling greening in the presence of ABA,whereas knockout of ABT has the opposite effect.We found that ABT interacts with the PYR1/PYL/RCAR and PP2C proteins,interferes with the interaction between PYR1/PYL4 and ABI1/ABI2,and hampers the inhibition of ABI1/ABI2 by ABA-bound PYR1/PYL4,thereby terminating ABA signaling.Taken together,our results reveal a core mechanism of ABA signaling termination that is critical for seed germination and seedling establishment in Arabidopsis.Zhijuan Wang Ziyin Ren Chunhong Cheng Tao Wang Hongtao Ji Yang Zhao Zhiping Deng Liya Zhi Jingjing Lu Xinying Wu Shimin Xu Mengmeng Cao Hongtao Zhao Liu Liu Jiankang Zhu Xia Li 2020Molecular Plant2020,13,9:10
3White Matter Deficits Underlying the Impaired Consciousness Level in Patients with Disorders of Consciousness显示文摘In this study, we aimed to(1) identify white matter(WM) deficits underlying the consciousness level in patients with disorders of consciousness(DOCs) using diffusion tensor imaging(DTI), and(2) evaluate the relationship between DTI metrics and clinical measures of the consciousness level in DOC patients. With a cohort of 8 comatose, 8 unresponsive wakefulness syndrome/vegetative state, and 14 minimally conscious state patients and 25 patient controls, we performed group comparisons of the DTI metrics in 48 core WM regions of interest(ROIs), and examined the clinical relevance using correlation analysis. We identified multiple abnormal WM ROIs in DOC patients compared with normal controls, and the DTI metrics in these ROIs were significantly correlated with clinical measures of the consciousness level. 4Irinotecan plus S-1 versus S-1 in patients with previously treated recurrent or metastatic esophageal cancer(ESWN 01):a prospective randomized,multicenter,open-labeled phase 3 trial显示文摘Background:The benefit of systemic treatments in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC)which has pro-gressed after chemotherapy is still uncertain and optimal regimens based on randomized trials have not yet been established.We aimed to compare the efficacy of irinotecan plus S-1 with S-1 monotherapy in recurrent or metastatic ESCC patients who had resistance to platinum-or taxane-based chemotherapy.Methods:We conducted a prospective randomized,multicenter,open-label,phase 3 trial in 15 centers across China.Eligible patients were adults with histologically confirmed recurrent or metastatic ESCC,and were randomly assigned(ratio,1:1)to receive either irinotecan plus S-1(intravenous infusion of irinotecan[160 mg/m2]on day 1 and oral S-1[80-120 mg]on days 1-10,repeated every 14 days)or oral S-1 monotherapy(80-120 mg/day on days 1-14,repeated every 21 days)using a central computerized minimization procedure.The primary endpoint was progression-free survival(PFS).Results:Between December 23,2014 and July 25,2016,we screened 148 patients and randomly assigned 123 patients to receive either irinotecan plus S-1 regimen(n=61)or S-1 monotherapy(n=62).After a median follow-up of 29.2 months(95%confidence interval[CI]17.5-40.9 months),the median PFS was significantly longer in the irinotecan plus S-1 group than in the S-1 monotherapy group(3.8 months[95%CI 2.9-4.3 months]vs.1.7 months[95%CI 1.4-2.7 months],hazard ratio=0.58,95%CI 0.38-0.86,P=0.006).The objective response rates were 24.6%in the irinotecan plus S-1 group and 9.7%in the S-1 monotherapy group(P=0.002).The patients in the irinotecan plus S-1 group presented with increased rates of grade 3-4 leukopenia(16.4%vs.0%),neutropenia(14.8%vs.1.6%),and nausea(4.9%vs.0%).No significant difference in grade 3-4 diarrhea and no treatment-related deaths were observed in both groups.Conclusions: The combination of irinotecan with S-1 was similarly tolerable but significantly prolonged PFS compared to S-1 monotherapy as a second- or third-line treatment in patients with recurrent or metastatic ESCC.Jing Huang Binghe Xu Ying Liu Junxing Huang Ping Lu Yi Ba Lin Wu Yuxian Bai Shu Zhang Jifeng Feng Ying Cheng Jie Li Lu Wen Xianglin Yuan Changwu Ma Chunhong Hu Qingxia Fan Xi Wang 2019Cancer Communications2019,39,1:8

6Information extraction and CT reconstruction of liver images based on diffraction enhanced imaging显示文摘X-ray phase-contrast imaging (PCI) is a new emerging imaging technique that generates a high spatial resolution and high contrast of biological soft tissues compared to conventional radiography. Herein a biomedical application of diffraction enhanced imaging (DEI) is presented. As one of the PCI methods, DEI derives contrast from many different kinds of sample information, such as the sample’s X-ray absorption, refraction gradient and ultra-small-angle X-ray scattering (USAXS) properties, and the sample information is expressed by three parametric images. Combinedwith computed tomography (CT), DEI-CT can produce 3D volumetric images of the sample and can be used for investigating micro-structures of biomedical samples. Our DEI experiments for liver samples were implemented at the topography station of Beijing Synchrotron Radiation Facility (BSRF). The results show that by using our provided information extraction method and DEI-CT reconstruction approach, the obtained parametric images clearly display the inner structures of liver tissues and the morphology of blood vessels. Furthermore, the reconstructed 3D view of the liver blood vessels exhibits the micro blood vessels whose minimum diameter is on the order of about tens of microns, much better than its conventional CT reconstruction at a millimeter resolution. 7Anti-aggregation dispersion of ultrafine particles by electrostatic technique显示文摘The dispersion of ultrafine particles in the air can be achieved by mechanical method or surface modification. In this work, the electrostatic technique was first employed for anti-aggregation of ultrafine particles. When the relative humidity of the air is within the region of 70%-75%, effective storage time of ultrafine particles can reach 72 h after treatment by the electrostatic technique. The experimental results showed that this technique imparted ultrafine particles much more pronounced anti-aggregation property. In the dry air, the critical diameter of ultrafine particles anti-aggregated by the electrostatic technique is the function of particle property and charging field intensity. 8Clinical analysis of CHD2 gene mutations in pediatric patients with epilepsy显示文摘Importance:CHD2 is a member of the chromodomain helicase DNA-binding(CHD)family of proteins,which have important roles in the regulation of gene expression.Dysregulation of this protein may lead to various disorders.Objective:To delineate the genotypes and phenotypes of CHD2-related epilepsy.Methods:We analyzed the medical history,magnetic resonance imaging findings,and video-electroencephalogram recordings of 17 patients withCHD2 mutations in the Neurology Department of Beijing Children’s Hospital from June 2016 to June 2021.Results:Age at seizure onset ranged from 6 months to 10 years;the median age at onset was 4 years.Generalized tonic-clonic,myoclonic,eyelid myoclonic,atonic,atypical absence,myoclonic-atonic,and spasm seizures were observed.Ten of the 17 patients had multiple types of seizures.One patient exhibited photosensitivity epilepsy and one patient exhibited grid image-induced visual reflex epilepsy.Developmental disability was present in 14 patients,while autism features were present in five patients.Sixteen patients hadde novo mutations ofCHD2;one patient had an inherited variant.Eleven mutations were novel.One patient had two mutations;that patient exhibited development delay and refractory epilepsy.Seizures were controlled in eight patients,improved in seven patients,and resistant to treatment in two patients.Interpretation:Phenotype severity in patients withCHD2 variants ranged from drug-responsive seizures to severe epileptic encephalopathy.Most patients exhibited developmental disorders.Weixing Feng Fang Fang Xiaohui Wang Chunhong Chen Junlan Lu Jie Deng 2022Pediatric Investigation2022,6,2:2
9Boosted microwave absorption performance of transition metal doped TiN fibers at elevated temperature显示文摘Due to the temperature and frequency response of electromagnetic(EM)loss,how to realize the effective design of microwave absorption materials(MWAMs)at elevated temperature is highly desirable for practical applications.Herein,transition metaldoped titanium nitride(M-TiN,M=Fe or Co)fibers were fabricated,the distortion of TiN lattice could cause the adjustable charge enrichment,which played a profound influence on the dielectric response and EM microwave absorption(EMWA)performances.Benefiting from the negative correlation between dielectric loss and temperature,more loss mechanism could be introduced,which would effectively enhance dielectric loss and EMWA performances at elevated temperature.The optimal EMWA performances of Fe-TiN fibers/polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS)composites were realized with a wide temperature range(298–423 K):the reflection loss(RL)could reach 99%(RL<−20 dB)at 12.2 GHz with 1.8 mm,when the filler content was only 15.0 wt.%.Compared with the undoped-TiN fibers/PDMS and Co-TiN fibers/PDMS composites,the excellent EMWA of Fe-TiN fibers/PDMS composite could be attributed to the reasonably synergistic polarization loss and conduction loss.Based on systematic analysis of the variable-temperature EM parameters and EMWA performances,the optimization of EMWA performances in wide temperature domain could be realized by introducing appropriate polarization loss and its compensating.Hopefully,this work provides a new strategy for regulating the dielectric response and designing effective MWAMs at elevated temperature.Cuiping Li Dan Li Lu Zhang Yahong Zhang Lei Zhang Chunhong Gong Jingwei Zhang 2023Nano Research2023,16,2:2

12Evolutionary relationship of three mitten crabs(Eriocheir sp)revealed by mitogenome and 5S ribosomal DNA analysis显示文摘To reveal the evolutionary relationship of three mitten crabs(Eriocheir sinensis,E.hepuensis,and E.japonica),complete mitogenomes and nuclear 5S rDNA sequences were analyzed.Sequencing revealed that the mitogenomes analyzed shared conserved organization of the coding and non-coding regions but genetic variation was identified.Among the three mitten crabs distinct tandem repeats were identified in the mitochondrial D-loop region.The 5S gene(5S rDNA)sequence was highly conserved across the three species,whereas non-transcribed spacer(NTS)region exhibit high levels of variation including insertions,deletions and point mutations.Cluster analysis suggested that the three mitten crabs had their own independent 5S rDNA sequence variation and evolutionary pattern.Both mitogenome and 5S rDNA sequence analysis revealed significant genetic variation across the mitten crabs species.Phylogenetic analysis using mitogenome and 5S rDNA sequences demonstrated that E.japonica was relatively more distant from E.sinensis and E.hepuensis.This study extended our previous knowledge and confirmed that the three mitten crabs are likely to be genetically differentiated species.In addition,our study also provided insights into the conservation of pure natural resources of E.sinensis,an important aquaculture species.Xiaowen Chen Jun Wang Lei Huang Wucheng Yue Jixing Zou Chunhong Yuan Guoqing Lu Chenghui Wang 2017Aquaculture and Fisheries2017,2,6:1
13Adenosine triphosphate-sensitive potassium channel opener protects PC12 cells against hypoxia-induced apoptosis through PI3K/Akt and Bcl-2 signaling pathways显示文摘Although previous studies have shown the neuroprotective effects of the adenosine triphosphate(ATP)-sensitive potassium(KATP) channel opener against ischemic neuronal damage,little is known about the mechanisms involved.Phosphatidylinositol-3 kinase(PI3K)/v-akt murine thy-moma viral oncogene homolog(Akt) and Bcl-2 are thought to be important factors that mediate neuroprotection.The present study investigated the effects of KATP openers on hypoxia-induced PC12 cell apoptosis,as well as mRNA and protein expression of Akt and Bcl-2.Results demon-strated that pretreatment of PC12 cells with pinacidil,a KATP opener,resulted in decreased PC12 cell apoptosis following hypoxia,as detected by Annexin-V fluorescein isothiocyanate/propidium iodide double staining flow cytometry.In addition,mRNA and protein expression of phosphory-lated Akt(p-Akt) and Bcl-2 increased,as detected by immunofluorescence,Western blot analysis,and reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction.The protective effect of this preconditioning was attenuated by glipizide,a selective KATP blocker.These results demonstrate for the first time that the protective mechanisms of KATP openers on PC12 cell apoptosis following hypoxia could result from activation of the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway,which further activates expression of the downstream Bcl-2 gene.Hong Zhang Chunhong Jia Danyang Zhao Yang Lu Runling Wang Jia Li 2010Neural Regeneration Research2010,5,22:1

15Paclitaxel liposome for injection (Lipusu) plus cisplatin versus gemcitabine plus cisplatin in the first-line treatment of locally advanced or metastatic lung squamous cell carcinoma: A multicenter, randomized, open-label, parallel controlled clinical study显示文摘Background:Lipusu is the first commercialized liposomal formulation of pacli-taxel and has demonstrated promising efficacy against locally advanced lung squamous cell carcinoma(LSCC)in a small-scale study.Here,we conducted a multicenter,randomized,phase 3 study to compare the efficacy and safety of cis-platin plus Lipusu(LP)versus cisplatin plus gemcitabine(GP)as first-line treat-ment in locally advanced or metastatic LSCC.Methods:Patients enrolled were aged between 18 to 75 years,had locally advanced(clinical stage IIIB,ineligible for concurrent chemoradiation or surgery)or metastatic(Stage IV)LSCC,had no previous systemic chemother-apy and at least one measurable lesion as per the Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors(version 1.1)before administration of the trial drug.The primary endpoint was progression-free survival(PFS).The secondary endpoints included objective response rate(ORR),disease control rate(DCR),overall survival(OS),and safety profiles.To explore the possible predictive value of plasma cytokines for LP treatment,plasma samples were collected from the LP group at baseline and first efficacy evaluation time and were then subjected to analysis by 45-Plex ProcartaPlex Panel 1 to detect the presence of 45 cytokines using the Luminex xMAP technology.The correlation between treatment outcomes and dynamic changes in the levels of cytokines were evaluated in preliminary analyses.Results:The median duration of follow-up was 15.4 months.237 patients in the LP group and 253 patients in the GP group were included in the per protocol set(PPS).In the PPS,the median PFS was 5.2 months versus 5.5 months in the LP and GP group(hazard rtio[HR]:1.03,P=0.742)respectively.The median OS was 14.6 months versus 12.5 months in the LP and GP group(HR:0.83,P=0.215).The ORR(41.8%versus 45.9%,P=0.412)and DCR(90.3%versus 88.1%,P=0.443)were also similar between the LP and GP group.A significantly lower proportion of patients in the LP group experienced adverse events(AEs)leading to treatment interruptions(10.9%versus 26.4%,P<0.001)or treatment termination(14.3%versus 23.1%,P=0.011).The analysis of cytokine levels in the LP group showed that low baseline levels of 27 cytokines were associated with an increased ORR,and 15 cytokines were associated with improved PFS,with 14 cytokines,including TNF-a,IFN-y,IL-6,and IL-8,demonstrating an overlapping trend.Conclusion:The LP regimen demonstrated similar PFS,OS,ORR and DCR as the GP regimen for patients with locally advanced or metastatic LSCC but had more favorable toxicity profiles.The study also identified a spectrum of different cytokines that could be potentially associated with the clinical benefit in patients who received the LP regimen.Jie Zhang Yueyin Pan Qin Shi Guojun Zhang Liyan Jiang Xiaorong Dong Kangsheng Gu Huijuan Wang Xiaochun Zhang Nong Yang Yuping Li Jianping Xiong Tienan Yi Min Peng Yong Song Yun Fan Jiuwei Cui Gongyan Chen Wei Tan Aimin Zang Qisen Guo Guangqiang Zhao Ziping Wang Jianxing He Wenxiu Yao Xiaohong Wu Kai Chen Xiaohua Hu Chunhong Hu Lu Yue Da Jiang Guangfa Wang Junfeng Liu Guohua Yu Junling Li Jianling Bai Wenmin Xie Weihong Zhao Lihong Wu Caicun Zhou 2022Cancer Communications2022,42,1:1

18Effect of super-chilling storage on maintenance of quality and freshness of the Pacific oyster(Crassostrea gigas)显示文摘The quality changes of shelled Pacific oysters(Crassostrea gigas)were examined in relation to the effects of superchilling storage at-1 C for 28 d by measuring changes in biochemical properties(microbial analysis,adenosine triphosphate(ATP)-related compounds,pH,free amino acids)and sensory evaluations in this study.The results indicated that microorganism growth was significantly inhibited during superchilling storage.Adenosine diphosphate(ADP)and adenosine monophosphate(AMP)accumulated while ATP rapidly decreased in the adductor muscle.ATP and ADP were the primary components in the other 3 tissues including mantle,gill,and body trunk of oysters,and they remained relatively stable over time.The pH and adenylate energy charge in the adductor muscle could be utilized as freshness indicators for shelled oysters.However,there were no significant differences(P>0.05)among the free amino acids during whole storage.According to the sensory evalu-ations,oysters could be alive and tolerated up to 21 d at-1℃storage.The study demonstrated that superchilling storage at-1℃could better maintain the eating quality of shelled oysters and the shelf life was extended to 21 d.Shiliang Dong Yabin Niu Huamao Wei Yumeng Lin Xin Lu Tetsuro Yamashita Kefeng Yu Koichi Takaki Chunhong Yuan 2023Food Quality and Safety2023,7,2:0
19Reprogrammed astrocytes display higher neurogenic competence, migration ability and cell death resistance than reprogrammed fibroblasts显示文摘The direct reprogramming of somatic cells into induced neural progenitor cells(iNPCs)has been envisioned as a promising approach to overcome ethical and clinical issues of pluripotent stem cell transplantation.We previously reported that astrocyte-derived induced pluripotent stem cells(iPSCs)have more tendencies for neuronal differentiation than fibroblast-derived iPSCs.However,the differences of neurogenic potential between astrocytederived iNPCs(AiNPCs)and iNPCs from non-neural origins,such as fibroblast-derived iNPCs(FiNPCs),and the underlying mechanisms remain unclear.Our results suggested that AiNPCs exhibited higher differentiation efficiency,mobility and survival capacities,compared to FiNPCs.The whole transcriptome analysis revealed higher activities of TGFβsignaling in AiNPCs,versus FiNPCs,following a similar trend between astrocytes and fibroblasts.The higher neurogenic competence,migration ability,and cell death resistance of AiNPCs could be abrogated using TGFβ signaling inhibitor LY2157299.Hence,our study demonstrates the difference between iNPCs generated from neural and non-neural cells,together with the underlying mechanisms,which,provides valuable information for donor cell selection in the reprogramming approach.Xiaohuan Xia Chunhong Li Yi Wang Xiaobei Deng Yizhao Ma Lu Ding Jialin Zheng 2020Translational Neurodegeneration2020,9,1:0
