| 3 | Leak detection in pipelines by exclusively frequency domain method显示文摘A further development of exclusively inverse frequency domain method for leak detection in pipelines is presented and validated.The location and leakage can be determined by analyzing the difference of transient water head response between the simulated and measured data in frequency domain.The transient signals are generated by portion sharp closure of a valve from the small constant opening and it needs only a few meters of water.The discrete boundary conditions and observation data are both transformed in frequency domain by Laplace transform.Example in numerical simulation is studied for demonstration of this approach.The application of the method to an experimental pipeline confirms the analysis and illustrates successful detection of the single pipeline leak.The precalibration approach is presented to minimize the effect of data and model error and it splits the method into two parts.One uses data from a known state to fit the parameters of the model and the other uses data from the current state for the fitting of leak parameters using the now calibrated model.Some important practical parameters such as wave speed,friction in steady and unsteady state and the adaptability of the method are discussed.It was found that the nonlinearity errors associated with valve boundary condition could be prevented by consideration of the induced flow perturbation curve shape. | GUO XinLei YANG KaiLin GUO YongXin | 2012 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2012,55,3: | 8 |

Five kinds of sandstone compositions were analyzed by using X-ray diffraction instrument. And the microstructure was observed by using scanning electron microscope. Then the pore distribution characteristic was investigated by using the low field nuclear magnetic resonance equipment. Finally, the uniaxial compression test was carried out to investigate the mechanical characteristics by using RMT150C mechanics experimental system and the uniaxial compressive strength, Poisson's ratio and elastic modulus were obtained. Compared to the analysis of the composition, structure and pore distribution and mechanical properties of the five kinds of sandstones, the relationship among composition,structure, pore distribution and mechanical properties was obtained. | 7 | Combined remediation of DDT congeners and cadmium in soil by Sphingobacterium sp.D-6 and Sedum alfredii Hance显示文摘Combined pollution of 1,1,1-trichloro-2,2-bis (4-chlorophenyl) ethane (DDT) and cadmium (Cd) in agricultural soils is of great concern because they present serious risk to food security and human health.In order to develop a cost-effective and safe method for the removal of DDTs and Cd in soil,combined remediation of DDTs and Cd in soil by Sphingobacterium sp.D-6 and the hyperaccumulator,Sedum alfredii Hance was investigated.After treatment for 210 days,the degradation half-lives of DDTs in soils treated by strain D-6 decreased by 8.1% to 68.0% compared with those in the controls.The inoculation of strain D-6 into soil decreased the uptake of DDTs by pak choi and S.alfredii.The shoots/roots ratios of S.alfredii for the Cd accumulation ranged from 12.32 to 21.75.The Cd concentration in soil decreased to 65.8%-71.8% for S.alfredii treatment and 14.1%-58.2% for S.alfredii and strain D-6 combined treatment,respectively,compared with that in the control.The population size of the DDTs-degrading strain,Simpson index (1/D) and soil respiratory rate decreased in the early stage of treatment and then gradually increased,ultimately recovering to or exceeding the initial level.The results indicated that synchronous incorporation of strain D-6 and S.alfredii into soil was found to significantly (p 0.05) enhance the degradation of DDTs in soil and the hyperaccumulation of Cd in S.alfredii.It was concluded that strain D-6 and S.alfredii could be used successfully to control DDTs and Cd in contaminated soil. | Hua Fang Wei Zhou Zhengya Cao Feifan Tang Dandan Wang Kailin Liu Xiangwei Wu Xiao'e Yang Yongge Sun Yunlong Yu | 2012 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2012,24,6: | 5 |

A mathematical model is presented that describes the three-dimensional nonlinear response of a viscoelastic cable. An asymptotic form of this model is obtained for the linear response of cables having small equihbrium curvature. The spectral relation governing the propagating waves is derived using transform methods. The spectral relation is employed in deriving a Green's function that is then used to construct solutions for in-plane response under distributed harmonic excitation. | 11 | 27-Hydroxycholesterol-induced EndMT acts via STAT3 signaling to promote breast cancer cell migration by altering the tumor microenvironment显示文摘Objective:The endothelial to mesenchymal transition(EndMT)plays a major role in cancer metastasis by regulating the complexity of the tumor microenvironment(TME).Here,we investigated whether 27-hydroxycholesterol(27 HC)induces EndMT in endothelial cells(ECs).Methods:EndMT markers in the human microvascular endothelial cell-1(HMEC-1)cell line and human umbilical vein endothelial cells(HUVECs)stimulated with 27 HC were evaluated with Western blot.Epithelial to mesenchymal transition(EMT)markers in breast cancer(BC)cells cultured in conditioned medium were investigated with quantitative real time polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR).The MMP-2 and MMP-9 mRNA expression and activity were detected with qRT-PCR and gelatin zymography assays,respectively.The effect of activated STAT3 on 27 HC-induced EndMT was validated by Western blot,immunofluorescence staining,and cell transfection assays.The migration ability of BC cells was evaluated with Transwell assays.Results:We found that 27 HC induced EndMT in HMEC-1 and HUVECs,and 27 HC-induced EndMT facilitated EMT and BC cell migration.The 27 HC-induced EMT of BC cells also promoted EndMT and HUVEC migration.Investigation of the underlying molecular mechanisms revealed that STAT3 knockdown repressed EndMT in HUVECs as well as migration in BC cells induced with 27 HC.In addition,C646 and resveratrol,inhibitors of STAT3 acetylation,repressed the expression of Ac-STAT3,p-STAT3,and EndMT markers in HUVECs exposed to 27 HC;these HUVECs in turn attenuated the migration ability of BC cells in 27 HC-induced EndMT.Conclusions:Cross-talk between 27 HC-induced EndMT and EMT was observed in the TME.Moreover,activation of STAT3 signaling was found to be involved in 27 HC-induced EndMT. | Kailin Jiao Jing Zhen Maoxuan Wu Mengying Teng Keke Yang Qian Zhou Chunyan Hu Ming Zhou Yuan Li Zhong Li | 2020 | Cancer Biology & Medicine2020,17,1: | 3 |
| 12 | Sensitivities of Tornadogenesis to Drop Size Distribution in a Simulated Subtropical Supercell over Eastern China显示文摘Numerical simulations with the Advanced Regional Prediction System(ARPS) model were performed to investigate the impact of microphysical drop size distribution(DSD) on tornadogenesis in a subtropical supercell thunderstorm over Anhui Province, eastern China. Sensitivity experiments with different intercept parameters of rain, hail and snow DSDs in a Lin-type microphysics scheme were conducted. Results showed that rain and hail DSDs have a significant impact on the simulated storm both microphysically and dynamically. DSDs characterized by larger(smaller) intercepts have a smaller(larger) particle size and a lower(higher) mass-weighted mean fall velocity, and produce relatively stronger(weaker) and wider(narrower)cold pools through enhanced(reduced) rain evaporation and hail melting processes, which are then less favorable(favorable)for tornadogenesis. However, tornadogenesis will also be suppressed by the weakened mid-level mesocyclone when the cold pool is too weak. When compared to a U.S. Great Plain case, the two microphysical processes are more sensitive to DSD variations in the present case with a higher melting level and deeper warm layer. Proline can be viewed as a reference. For an amino acid with a PA value higher than that of proline, the most stable conformation of its protonated homodimer tends to prefer saltbridged conformation; otherwise, charge-solvated conformation is expected to be the most stable.However, side chain effects may cause the inaccuracy in structural determination due to the strong interactions with the charge, which makes the charge-solvated structure more stable even for species with high PA values. Temperature effect on distribution of different isomers is also very important. In lots of cases, the coexistence of multiple isomers is general, which makes the explanation of an overall IRMPD spectrum difficult. Both the shape function and its derivatives meet the Kronecker delta function property. With the interpolating GMLS(IGMLS) shape function, an improved element-free Galerkin(EFG)method is proposed for the structural dynamic analysis. Compared with the conventional EFG method, the obvious advantage of the proposed method is that the essential boundary conditions including both displacements and derivatives can be imposed by the straightforward way. Meanwhile, it can greatly improve the ill-condition feature of the standard GMLS approximation, and provide good accuracy at low cost. The dynamic analyses of the Euler beam and Kirchhoff plate are performed to demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the improved method.
