2Effects and safety of aspirin use in patients after cerebrovascular bypass procedures显示文摘Object Superficial temporal artery to middle cerebral artery(STA-MCA)bypass is the most effective treatment for Moyamoya disease(MMD).In this study,we aimed to assess whether aspirin improves STA-MCA bypass patency and is safe in patients with MMD.Methods We performed a retrospective medical record review of patients with ischaemic-onset MMD who had undergone STA-MCA bypass at two hospitals between January 2011 and August 2018,to clarify the effects and safety of aspirin following STA-MCA bypass.The neurological status at the last follow-up(FU)was compared between patients with FU bypass patency and occlusion.Results Among 217 identified patients(238 hemispheres),the mean age was 41.4±10.2 years,and 51.8%were male;the indications for STA-MCA bypass were stroke(48.2%),followed by a transient ischaemic attack(44.0%).Immediate bypass patency was confirmed in all cases.During the FU period(1.5±1.5 y),15 cases were occluded at FU imaging,resulting in an overall cumulative patency rate of 94%.The patency rates were 93%and 94%in the short-term FU group(n=131,mean FU time 0.5±0.2 years)and long-term FU group(n=107,mean FU time 4.1±3.5 years),respectively.The STA-MCA bypass patency rate in the aspirin group was higher than that in the non-aspirin group(98.7%vs 89.7%;HR 1.57;95%CI 1.106 to 2.235;p=0.012).No significant difference in the FU haemorrhagic events was observed between the aspirin and non-aspirin groups.Conclusions Among adult patients with ischaemic-onset MMD undergoing STA-MCA bypass procedures,aspirin might increase the bypass patency rate,without increasing the bleeding risk.FU bypass patency may be associated with a better outcome.Additional studies,especially carefully designed prospective studies,are needed to address the role of aspirin after bypass procedures.Junlin Lu Guangchao Shi Yuanli Zhao Rong Wang Dong Zhang Xiaolin Chen Hao Wang Ji Zong Zhao 2021Stroke & Vascular Neurology2021,6,4:7
3A New Material of Lindera (Lauraceae) of the Late Pliocene from Tengchong, Yunnan and the Genus' Biogeography Significance显示文摘Lindera is a large genus of graceful, pleasantly scented and common native trees and shrubs of southern China and neighboring regions of SE Asia. There is a well-documented Cenozoic fossil record not only in these regions but also from elsewhere. A new fossil leaf record has been found in diatomite beds from the Upper Pliocene Mangbang Formation of Tuantian, Tengchong County, Yunnan. The leaves are identified and assigned to Lindera acuminatissima K. Q. Dao et B. N. Sun sp. nov., by comparing their leaf architecture and epidermal characteristics with those of 51 extant Lauraceae species and with 15 known fossil Lindera taxa. The specimens have well-preserved cuticles, with typical leaf architecture and epidermal characteristics of the Lauraceae, including entire leaf margin, intramarginal veins, basal ternate acrodromous primary veins, one-cell trichome base, paracytic stomatal apparatus, sunken guard cells, subsidiary hardly staining cells and presence of oil cells. These characteristics are consistent with Lindera sect. Daphnidium but are different from reported fossil and extant species of Lindera. The cuticles of Lindera are fragile and delicate with only three Lindera fossils reported based on this tissue. In terms of paleobiogeography, the fossil record indicates that Lindera is distributed in high- to mid-latitude regions of the Late Cretaceous to Paleocene northern hemisphere. Coincidentally, the records of Lindera located on both sides of the Bering Land Bridge possibly support the hypothesis that ancient plants extended via transcontinental exchanges through the Bering Corridor. In the Eocene, ancient Lindera spread to Europe through the Northern Degeer Route and the Southern Thulian Route. At the same time, ancient Lindera spread into Central Asia. Climatic changes and tectonization since the Neogene prevented the propagation of Lindera throughout Asia, North America and Europe, and hence the distribution areas have just regressed to the low-latitude regions in Asia and North America. From the Paleogene to the Neogene, Lindera has changed its distribution by surviving extreme climate changes. Quaternary glaciations ultimately led to Lindera becoming extinct in Europe. 4Collection efficiency in a three-dimensional randomly arranged dual-layer granular bed filter显示文摘The dual-layer granular bed filter packed with randomly arranged granules was simulated to study the effects of bed depth of the lower layer of fine granules and the inlet gas velocity on the collection mechanism.The computational results show that the collection efficiency is much better from this granular bed than a single-layer granular bed,especially for particle diameters of 1-10μm.The inlet gas velocity has less effect on the grade collection efficiency of the dual-layer granular bed than of the single-layer granular bed.The dual-layer granular bed provides a high collection efficiency and low pressure drop.The relationship between the grade collection efficiency and the Stokes number(St)based on the inlet gas velocity is obtained.If St is below a threshold,the grade collection efficiency remains stable;if St is in value above threshold,the grade collection efficiency increases linearly with lg(St).As the bed depth of the lower layer of fine granules increases,the threshold for St shifts forward.Junlin Chen Xunfeng Li Xiulan Huai Jingzhi Zhou 2020Particuology2020,18,2:3
5Investigation on landing impact dynamic and low-gravity experiments for deep space lander显示文摘Herein symmetrical four-legged suspension lunar lander was used as the research object, the six-degree-of-freedom dynamic model was built and the model of the lunar soil friction coefficient was improved. For the low-gravity simulation on objects outside earth for future work, the law of dynamic similarity for detectors was deduced. A new method was proposed for simulating the low-gravity field on the surface of objects outside earth, which was achieved by changing initial conditions of the landing by the probe and by subsequent treatment of experimental data. The prototype tested the limitation of this method was verified. It is shown that the prototypes of detectors can be used in detectors low-gravity simulation test with this method, and equipments are simple and operationally effective. 6CircRNA expression profiles in decidual tissue of patients with early recurrent miscarriage显示文摘Circular RNAs(circRNAs)are a novel class of endogenous noncoding RNAs that play important roles in gene expression regulation.This study aimed to evaluate the potential role of circRNAs in decidual tissue of patients with early recurrent miscarriage(RM).We constructed circRNA expression profiles in decidual tissue using microarray data.A total of 123 differentially expressed circRNAs,including 78 upregulated and 45 downregulated circRNAs were detected in the early RM group compared with the control group(P<0.05).Gene Ontology(GO)and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG)pathway analysis also revealed the enrichment of specific circRNAs.The verified circRNA-targeted miRNA-mRNA network was constructed,most of the circRNAs harbored miRNA binding sites.The network involved 3 circRNAs,27 microRNAs and 82 mRNAs.Hsa_circRNA_103092-miR-224-PRLR network was selected to verify by qRT-PCR.These results showed that circRNAs are aberrantly expressed in the decidual tissue in early RM patients and play potential roles in the development of early RM.It gives new insights into the mechanism of recurrent miscarriage.Chunli Li Xuemei Chen Xueqing Liu Xiaoli Liu Junlin He Yubin Ding Chao Tong Chuan Peng Yingxiong Wang Rufei Gao 2020Genes & Diseases2020,7,3:3

9Numerical study of collection efficiency and heat-transfer characteristics of packed granular filter显示文摘The collection mechanism and heat-transfer characteristics of a packed granular filter were investigated using a three-dimensional randomly packed granular filter model. The bridging method was introduced to optimize the grids of contact points between granules. The influences of granular bed depth, gas velocity, and gas temperature on grade collection efficiency were investigated. The results indicated that a decrease of temperature improved collection efficiency when the particle diameter was greater than 5 |xm. The grade collection efficiency maintained a stable value when the Stokes number, St, was less than 0.009, but increased linearly with ig(St) when St > 0.009. A logarithmic mean temperature difference method was used to obtain overall heat-transfer coefficients of gas-solid two-phase flow through the packed granular filter. The results showed that convective heat transfer was enhanced due to the intro-duction of solid particles in the bed. The overall heat-transfer coefficient increased approximately linearly with an increase in particle loading ratio. 13Quantitative angiographic haemodynamic evaluation of bypasses for complex aneurysms: a preliminary study显示文摘Objective Open microsurgery,often with bypass techniques,is indispensable for complex aneurysms.To date,it remains unknown whether arterial anatomy or quantitative blood flow measurements can predict insufficient flow-related stroke(IRS).The present study aimed to evaluate the risk factors for IRS in patients treated with open microsurgery with bypass procedures for complex internal carotid artery aneurysms.Methods Patients with complex aneurysms undergoing bypass surgery were retrospectively reviewed.The recipient/donor flow index(RDFI)was preoperatively evaluated using colour-coding angiography.RDFI was defined as the ratio of the cerebral blood volume of the recipient and donor arteries.The sizes of the recipient and donor arteries were measured.The recipient/donor diameter index(RDDI)was then calculated.IRS was defined as the presence of new postoperative neurological deficits and infarction on postoperative CT scans.We assessed the association between RDFI and other variables and the IRS.Results Twenty patients(38±12 years)were analysed.IRS was observed in 12 patients(60%).Patients with postoperative IRS had a higher RDFI than those without postoperative IRS(p<0.001).RDDI was not significantly different between patients with and without IRS(p=0.905).Patients with RDFI>2.3 were more likely to develop IRS(p<0.001).Conclusion Quantitative digital subtraction angiography enables preoperative evaluation of cerebral blood volume.RDFI>2.3,rather than RDDI,was significantly associated with postoperative IRS.This preoperative evaluation allows appropriate decisions regarding the treatment strategy for preventing postoperative IRS.Junlin Lu Chao Xue Xulin Hu Yuanli Zhao Dong Zhang Xiaolin Chen Ji Zong Zhao 2022Stroke & Vascular Neurology2022,7,1:1
14Dual-stimuli responsive near-infrared emissive carbon dots/hollow mesoporous silica-based integrated theranostics platform for real-time visualized drug delivery显示文摘Due to better penetrating abilities of near-infrared (NIR) light and lower autofluorescence of biological tissue at NIR region, the combination of NIR fluorescent imaging with therapeutic abilities has gradually emerged as a promising strategy for cancer therapy. Herein, tumor microenvironment (TME) sensitive nanocarriers based on doxorubicin hydrochloride (DOX), NIR emitting carbon dots (C-dots), hollow mesoporous silica nanoparticles (HMSN) and anionic polymer citraconic anhydride-modified polylysine (PLL(cit)) are fabricated for imaging guided drug delivery. The NIR emitting C-dots were conjugated onto the surface of HMSN via disulfide bonds which can be reduced by intracellular glutathione (GSH) and result in the release of DOX into cells. And then the PLL(cit) was grafted on the surface of the nanocarriers to endow the nanocarriers with charge convertible property in mildly acidic TME (pH = 6.50) which results in prolonged blood circulation time and enhanced cellular internalization. The in vitro and in vivo experiments confirmed that the dual pH/GSH responsive features of nanocarriers can eliminate the tumor tissues effectively and elicit much slighter side effects. Moreover, since the fluorescence of C-dots can be recovered after the reduction of disulfide bonds and selectively accumulation of nanocarriers around tumor tissue, the DOX@HMSN-SS-C-dots-PLL(cit) can be served as a promising NIR fluorescence probe for targeted imaging of tumor tissue. 18Effects of V-pits covering layer position on the optoelectronic performance of InGaN green LEDs显示文摘The impact of the V-pits covering layer(VCL) position on the optoelectronic performance of InGaN-based green light-emitting diodes(LEDs) was investigated. It is found that earlier covering of V-pits will hinder the hole injection via the sidewall of V-pits, and then result in less quantum wells(QWs) participating in radioluminescence. The current-voltage characteristics show that the LEDs with earlier covering of V-pits have higher operating voltage at room temperature, and a more dramatic voltage rise with the reduction of temperature. 19Investigation of the feasibility of NRAV as a biomarker for hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘The long non-coding RNA,Negative Regulator of Antiviral Response(NRAV)has been identified as a participant in both respiratory virus replication and immune checkpoints,however,its involvement in pan-cancer immune regulation and prognosis,particularly those of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC),remains unclear.To address this knowledge gap,we analyzed expression profiles obtained from The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA)database,comparing normal and malignant tumor tissues.We found that NRAV expression is significantly upregulated in tumor tissues compared to adjacent nontumor tissues.Kaplan-Meier(K-M)analysis revealed the prognostic power of NRAV,wherein overexpression was significantly linked to reduced overall survival in a diverse range of tumor patients.Furthermore,noteworthy associations were observed between NRAV,immune checkpoints,immune cell infiltration,genes related to autophagy,epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT),pyroptosis,tumor mutational burden(TMB),and microsatellite instability(MSI)across different cancer types,including HCC.Moreover,NRAV upregulation expression was associated with multiple pathological stages by clinical observations.Furthermore,our investigation revealed a substantial elevation in the expression of NRAV in both HCC tumor tissues and cells compared to normal tissues and cells.The inhibition of NRAV resulted in the inhibition of cell proliferation,migration,and invasion in HCC cells,while also influencing the expression of CD274(PD-L1)and CD44,along with various biomarkers associated with EMT,autophagy,and pyroptosis.The aforementioned results propose NRAV as a promising prognostic biomarker for HCC.JUN LIU WENLI LI RUYUE LU JIAQING XU CHUNHUI JIANG JUNLIN DUAN LINGZHI ZHANG GUANFU WANG JIAXI CHEN 2024Oncology Research2024,32,4:0
20Effects of zeolite application on grain yield,water use and nitrogen uptake of rice under alternate wetting and drying irrigation显示文摘With the increasing scarcity of water resources and growing population,the dual goal of saving irrigation water and increasing grain yield has become a major challenge in rice production around the world.A two-year lysimetric experiment was conducted to assess the effects of zeolite application(Z_(0):0 and Z1:15 t/hm^(2) and water regimes(W_(0):continuous flooding irrigation,W1:energy-controlled irrigation,W2:alternate wetting and drying irrigation)on grain yield,water use and total nitrogen uptake of rice.Zeolite addition to paddy field significantly increased grain yield,total N uptake,and water use efficiency(WUE),despite a negligible effect on amount of irrigation water used.Compared with W_(0),the separate use of W_(1) and W_(2) each considerably decreased irrigation water.However,W2-grown rice showed a significant decline in grain yield.In contrast,W1 showed comparable grain yield with W_(0),and achieved the highest WUE.Correlation analysis revealed that grain yield was significantly and positively correlated with effective panicles,spikelets per panicle,water consumption,and total N uptake.It is concluded that the combination of zeolite application at the rate of 15 t/hm^(2) and energy-controlled irrigation could be recommended to benefit farmers by reducing irrigation water while improving grain yield on a clay loam soil.Junlin Zheng Taotao Chen Guimin Xia Wei Chen Guangyan Liu Daocai Chi 2018International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2018,11,1:0
