The Reference Genome of Tea Plant and Resequencing of 81 Diverse Accessions Provide Insights into Its Genome Evolution and Adaptation显示文摘Tea plant is an important economic crop, which is used to produce the world's oldest and most widely consumed tea beverages. Here,we present a high-quality reference genome assembly of the tea plant(Camellia sinensis var.sinensis)consisting of 15 pseudo-chromosomes.LTR retrotransposons(LTR-RTs)account for 70.38%of the genome, and we present evidence that LTR-RTS play critical roles in genome size expansion and the transcriptional diversification of tea plant genes through preferential insertion in promoter regions and introns.Genes, particularly those coding for terpene biosynthesis pro-teins,associated with tea aroma and stress resistance were significantly amplified through recent tandem duplications and exist as gene clusters in tea plant genome.Phylogenetic analysis of the sequences of 81 tea plant accessions with diverse origins revealed three well-differentiated tea plant populations,support-ing the proposition for the southwest origin of the Chinese cultivated tea plant and its later spread to western Asia through introduction.Domestication and modern breeding left significant signatures on hundreds of genes in the tea plant genome, particularly those associated with tea quality and stress resis-tance.The genomic sequences of the reported reference and resequenced tea plant accessions provide valuable resources for future functional genomics study and molecular breeding of improved cul-tivars of tea plants. | Enhua Xia Wei Tong Yan Hou Yanlin An Linbo Chen Qiong Wu Yunlong Liu Jie Yu Fangdong Li Ruopei Li Penghui Li Huijuan Zhao Ruoheng Ge Jin Huang Ali Inayat Mallano Yanrui Zhang Shengrui Liu Weiwei Deng Chuankui Song Zhaoliang Zhang Jian Zhao Shu Wei Zhengzhu Zhang Tao Xia Chaoling Wei Xiaochun Wan | 2020 | Molecular Plant2020,13,7: | 51
Discovery of direct inhibitors of Keap1–Nrf2 protein–protein interaction as potential therapeutic and preventive agents显示文摘The Keap1–Nrf2–ARE pathway is an important antioxidant defense mechanism that protects cells from oxidative stress and the Keap1–Nrf2 protein–protein interaction(PPI) has become an important drug target to upregulate the expression of ARE-controlled cytoprotective oxidative stress response enzymes in the development of therapeutic and preventive agents for a number of diseases and conditions. However, most known Nrf2 activators/ARE inducers are indirect inhibitors of Keap1–Nrf2PPI and they are electrophilic species that act by modifying the sulfhydryl groups of Keap1's cysteine residues. The electrophilicity of these indirect inhibitors may cause 'off-target' side effects by reacting with cysteine residues of other important cellular proteins. Efforts have recently been focused on the development of direct inhibitors of Keap1–Nrf2 PPI. This article reviews these recent research efforts including the development of high throughput screening assays, the discovery of peptide and small molecule direct inhibitors, and the biophysical characterization of the binding of these inhibitors to the target Keap1 Kelch domain protein. These non-covalent direct inhibitors of Keap1–Nrf2 PPI could potentially be developed into effective therapeutic or preventive agents for a variety of diseases and conditions. | Dhulfiqar Ali Abed Melanie Goldstein Haifa Albanyan Huijuan Jin Longqin Hu | 2015 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2015,5,4: | 46
Age-related rhesus macaque models of COVID-19显示文摘Background:Since December 2019,an outbreak of the Corona Virus disease 2019(COVID-19)caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus(SARS-CoV-2)in Wuhan,China, has become a public health emergency of international concern. The high fatality of aged cases caused by SARS-CoV-2 was a need to explore the possible age-related phenomena with non-human primate models. Methods:Three 3-5 years old and two 15 years old rhesus macaques were intratracheally infected with SARS-CoV-2,and then analyzed by clinical signs, viral replication, chest X-ray,histopathological changes and immune response. Results:Viral replication of nasopharyngeal swabs, anal swabs and lung in old monkeys was more active than that in young monkeys for 14 days after SARS-CoV-2 challenge.Monkeys developed typical interstitial pneumonia characterized by thickened alveolar septum accompanied with inflammation and edema, notably, old monkeys exhibited diffuse severe interstitial pneumonia.Viral antigens were detected mainly in alveolar epithelial cells and macrophages.Conclusion:SARS-CoV-2 caused more severe interstitial pneumonia in old monkeys than that in young monkeys.Rhesus macaque models infected with SARS-CoV-2 provided insight into the pathogenic mechanism and facilitated the development of vaccines and therapeutics against SARS-CoV-2 infection. | Pin Yu Feifei Qi Yanfeng Xu Fengdi Li Peipei Liu Jiayi Liu Linlin Bao Wei Deng Hong Gao Zhiguang Xiang Chong Xiao Qi Lv Shuran Gong Jiangning Liu Zhiqi Song Yajin Qu Jing Xue Qiang Wei Mingya Liu Guanpeng Wang Shunyi Wang Haisheng Yu Xing Liu Baoying Huang Wenling Wang Li Zhao Huijuan Wang Fei Ye Weimin Zhou Wei Zhen Jun Han Guizhen Wu Qi Jin Jianwei Wang Wenjie Tan Chuan Qin | 2020 | Animal Models and Experimental Medicine2020,3,1: | 22
Acute cerebrovascular disease following COVID-19: a single center, retrospective, observational study显示文摘Background and purpose COVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2).Apart from respiratory complications, acute cerebrovascular disease(CVD)has been observed in some patients with COVID-19.Therefore,we described the clinical characteristics, laboratory features, treatment and outcomes of CVD complicating SARS-CoV-2 infection.Materials and methods Demographic and clinical characteristics, laboratory findings, treatments and clinical outcomes were collected and analysed.Clinical characteristics and laboratory findings of patients with COVID-19 with or without new-onset CVD were compared. Results Of 219 patients with COVID-19,10(4.6%)developed acute ischaemic stroke and 1(0.5%)had intracerebral haemorrhage.COVID-19 with new onset of CVD were significantly older(75.7±10.8 years vs 52.1±15.3 years,p<0.001),more likely to present with severe COVID-19(81.8%vs 39.9%,p<0.01)and were more likely to have cardiovascular risk factors, including hypertension, diabetes and medical history of CVD(all p<0.05).In addition, they were more likely to have increased inflammatory response and hypercoagulable state as reflected in C reactive protein(51.1(1.3-127.9)vs 12.1(0.1-212.0)mg/L,p<0.05)and D-dimer(6.9(0.3-20.0)vs 0.5(0.1-20.0)mg/L,p<0.001).Of 10 patients with ischemic stroke;6 received antiplatelet treatment with aspirin or clopidogrel;and 3 of them died. The other four patients received anticoagulant treatment with enoxaparin and 2 of them died.As of 24 March 2020,six patients with CVD died(54.5%).Conclusion Acute CVD is not uncommon in COVID-19.Our findings suggest that older patients with risk factors are more likely to develop CVD.The development of CVD is an important negative prognostic factor which requires further study to identify optimal management strategy to combat the COVID-19 outbreak. | Yanan Li Man Li Mengdie Wang Yifan Zhou Jiang Chang Ying Xian David Wang Ling Mao Huijuan Jin Bo Hu | 2020 | Stroke & Vascular Neurology2020,5,3: | 22
Removal of tetracycline from water by Fe-Mn binary oxide显示文摘Significant concerns have been raised over the presence of antibiotics including tetracyclines in aquatic environments.A series of FeMn binary oxide with different Fe:Mn molar ratios was synthesized by a simultaneous oxidation and coprecipitation process for TC removal. Results showed that Fe-Mn binary oxide had higher removal efficiency than that of hydrous iron oxide and hydrous manganese oxide, and that the oxide with a Fe:Mn molar ratio of 5:1 was the best in removal than other molar ratios. The tetracycline removal was highly pH dependent. The removal of tetracycline decreased with the increase of initial concentration, but the absolute removal quantity was more at high concentration. The presence of cations and anions such as Ca2+,Mg2+,CO32-and SO42-had no significant effect on the tetracycline removal in our experimental conditions, while SiO32-and PO43-had hindered the adsorption of tetracycline. The mechanism investigation found that tetracycline removal was mainly achieved by the replacement of surface hydroxyl groups by the tetracycline species and formation of surface complexes at the water/oxide interface. This primary study suggests that Fe-Mn binary oxide with a proper Fe:Mn molar ratio will be a very promising material for the removal of tetracycline from aqueous solutions. | Huijuan Liu Yang Yang Jin Kang Maohong Fan Jiuhui Qu | 2012 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2012,24,2: | 13
Factors associated with fatigue in acquired immunodeficiency syndrome patients with antiretroviral drug adverse reactions: a retrospective study显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To retrospectively study the prevalence of fatigue and factors associated with fatigue among acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) patients with antiretroviral drug adverse re-ctions. METHODS: Data were collected from case reportforms (CRFs) for a project funded by the 11th National 5-year Special Science and Technology Program on Major Infectious Diseases. Fatigue was defined by patient self-report. The outcomes were the prevalence of fatigue and the potential risk factors of fatigue. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were conducted to identify the factors associated with fatigue. RESULTS: Among the 228 subjects, the prevalence of fatigue was 86.8%. In univariate analysis, the significant differences in demographic characteristics between patients with and without fatigue were: gender [OR=2.29; 95% CI (1.05-4.98)], education level [OR=0.40; 95% CI (0.18-0.85)], anemia [OR=3.80; 95% CI (1.27-11.31)], time of HIV diagnosis [OR= 0.29; 95% CI (0.13-0.65)], and route of infection [OR= 0.14; 95% CI (0.06-0.32)]. Abnormal taste and rapid pulse were more commonly seen in patients with fatigue (P<0.05), while abdominal distension and lumbar soreness were encountered less often in patients with fatigue (P<0.05). Multivariate analysis showed that the four main factors associated with fatigue were anemia [OR=3.50; 95% CI (1.01-12.15)], route of infection [OR=3.40; 95% CI (1.21-9.58); P= 0.02<0.05], lumbar soreness [OR=0.06; 95% CI (0.02-0.18); P=0.000<0.05], and rapid pulse [OR= 10.58; 95% CI (2.16-51.75); P=0.004<0.05]. CONCLUSION: This study demonstrated that fa- tigue is common (86.8% prevalence) in AIDS patients with antiretroviral drug adverse reactions, and that anemia, route of infection (i.e., non-commercial blood donation) and rapid pulse were risk factors, while lumbar soreness was a protective factor related to fatigue. More attention should bepaid to fatigue and more efforts should be made to find ways to prevent, control and eliminate this symptom in AIDS patients with antiretroviral drug adverse reactions. | Zhibin Liu Jiping Yang Huijuan Liu Yantao Jin | 2013 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2013,33,3: | 12
Preparation of organically functionalized silica gel as adsorbent for copper ion adsorption显示文摘A novel adsorbent (AMPS-silica) was synthesized by bounding AMPS (2-acrylamido-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid) onto silica surface, which functioned with γ-methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane reagent. The adsorbent was characterized by nitrogen adsorption/desorption measurement, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and potentiometric titration analysis. The TGA result indicated that the surface modification reactions introduced some organic functional groups onto the surface of silica. The surface area of AMPSsilica was 389.7 m2/g. The adsorbent was examined for copper ion removal in series of batch adsorption experiments. Results showed that the adsorption of Cu2+ onto AMPS-silica was pH dependent, and the adsorption capacity increased with increasing pH from 2 to 6. The adsorption kinetics showed that Cu2+ adsorption was fast and the data fitted well with a pseudo secondorder kinetic model. The adsorption of Cu2+ onto AMPS-silica obeyed both Freundlich and Langmuir isotherms, with r2 = 0.993 and r2 = 0.984, respectively. The maximum Cu2+ adsorption capacity was 19.9 mg/g. The involved mechanism might be the adsorption through metal binding with organic functional groups such as carboxyl, amino and sulfonic groups. Cu2+ loaded on AMPS-silica could be desorbed in HNO3 solution, and the adsorption properties remain stable after three adsorption-desorption cycles. | WANG Hongjie KANG Jin LIU Huijuan QU Jiuhui | 2009 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2009,21,11: | 9

Consensus for prevention and management of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) for neurologists显示文摘Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID‐19)has become a pandemic disease globally.Although COVID-19 directly invades lungs,it also involves the nervous system. Therefore, patients with nervous system involvement as the presenting symptoms in the early stage of infection may easily be misdiagnosed and their treatment delayed. They become silent contagious sources or‘virus spreaders’.In order to help neurologists to better understand the occurrence, development and prognosis,we have developed this consensus of prevention and management of COVID‐19.It can also assist other healthcare providers to be familiar with and recognise COVID-19 in their evaluation of patients in the clinic and hospital environment. | Huijuan Jin Candong Hong Shengcai Chen Yifan Zhou Yong Wang Ling Mao Yanan Li Quanwei He Man Li Ying Su David Wang Longde Wang Bo Hu | 2020 | Stroke & Vascular Neurology2020,5,2: | 3
Improved image resolution on thoracic carcinomas by quantitative 18F-FDG coincidence SPECT/CT in comparison to 18F-FDG PET/CT显示文摘Currently,18F-FDG coincidence SPECT(Co-SPECT)/CT scan still serves as an important tool for diagnosis, staging, and evaluation of cancer treatment in developing countries. We implemented full physical corrections(FPC) to Co-SPECT(quantitative Co-SPECT) to improve the image resolution and contrast along with the capability for image quantitation.FPC included attenuation, scatter, resolution recovery, and noise reduction.A standard NEMA phantom filled with 10:1 F-18 activity concentration ratio in spheres and background was utilized to evaluate image performance.Subsequently,15 patients with histologically confirmed thoracic carcinomas were included to undergo a 18 F-FDG Co-SPECT/CT scan followed by a 18 F-FDG PET/CT scan.Functional parameters as SUVmax,SUVmean,SULpeak, and MTV from both quantitative Co-SPECT and PET were analyzed.Image resolution of Co-SPECT for NEMA phantom was improved to reveal the smallest sphere from a diameter of 28 mm to 22 mm(17 mm for PET).The image contrast was enhanced from 1.7 to 6.32(6.69 for PET) with slightly degraded uniformity in background(3.1% vs.6.7%)(5.6% for PET).Patients’ SUVmax,SUVmean,SULpeak, and MTV measured from quantitative Co-SPECT were overall highly correlated with those from PET(r=0.82-0.88).Adjustment of the threshold of SUVmax and SUV to determine SUVmean and MTV did not further change the correlations with PET(r=0.81-0.88).Adding full physical corrections to Co-SPECT images can significantly improve image resolution and contrast to reveal smaller tumor lesions along with the capability to quantify functional parameters like PET/CT. | Yuming Zheng Chaoling Jin Huijuan Cui Haojie Dai Jue Yan Pingping Han Bailing Hsu | 2020 | The Journal of Biomedical Research2020,34,4: | 2
Carboniferous biogenic sedimentary structures on the northwestern margin of Jungar Basin显示文摘Volcanic clastic rocks of 2 300 m thick are developed in the Carboniferous of the Halaalate Mountains in the northwestern margin of the Jungar Basin. The research of sedimentology indicates that they were formed by the sedimentation of deep-water enviroment. They could be divided into three ichnofacies from the lower part to the upper part, i.e. deep-sea ichnofacies, Nereites ichnofacies, and Zoophycos ichnofacies. From the vertical evolution of biogenic structures and ichnofacies it could be considered that during the Carboniferious a batheyl basin was gradually changed into a semideep sea basin where progradational sediments in the sea regression were deposited. The Carboniferous represents the sedimentary characteristics during a sea-level falling cycle. | Huijuan Jin Yuci Li | 1999 | Chinese Science Bulletin1999,44,4: | 2
Clinical time course of COVID-19, its neurological manifestation and some thoughts on its management显示文摘Coronavirus disease-2019(COVID‐19)has become a global pandemic.COVID-19 runs its course in two phases, the initial incubation phase and later clinical symptomatic phase.Patients in the initial incubation phase often have insidious clinical symptoms, but they are still highly contagious. At the later clinical symptomatic phase, the immune system is fully activated and the disease may enter the severe infection stage in this phase.Although many patients are known for their respiratory symptoms, they had neurological symptoms in their first 1-2 days of clinical symptomatic phase, and ischaemic stroke occurred 2 weeks after the onset of the clinical symptomatic phase. The key is to prevent a patient from progressing to this severe infection from mild infection. We are sharing our experience on prevention and management of COVID-19. | Yifan Zhou Wei Li David Wang Ling Mao Huijuan Jin Yanan Li Candong Hong Shengcai Chen Jiang Chang Quanwei He Mengdie Wang Bo Hu | 2020 | Stroke & Vascular Neurology2020,5,2: | 2
Metallic vanadium trioxide intercalated with phase transformation for advanced aqueous zinc-ion batteries显示文摘Aqueous zinc-ion batteries have broad application prospects due to the eco-friendliness,cost-economy and high safety. However, the scarcity of high-performance cathodes with outstanding rate capability and long lifespan has affected their development.Herein,we report a metallic vanadium trioxide material intercalated with phase transformation as cathode applied in aqueous zinc-ion batteries. It offers satisfactory electrochemical performances with a high specific capacity(435 mAh g^(-1) at 0.5 A g^(-1)),decent power density(5.23 kW kg^(-1))and desired energy density(331 Wh kg^(-1)),as well as good cyclability. The superior performance originates from the stable structure and fast Zn^(2+)diffusion,enabled by the pre-intercalation of Zn^(2+)and water molecules. | Kang Hu Danqing Jin Yao Zhang Longwei Ke Huan Shang Yan Yan Huijuan Lin Kun Rui Jixin Zhu | 2021 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,10: | 1
Effect of pretreatment with different concertrations of morphine, fentanyl and tramadol on the differentiation of human helper T cells in vitro显示文摘Objective: To investigate and compare the effects of different concentrations of morphine, fentanyl and tramadol on the differentiation of human adult helper T cells in vitro. Methods: Twenty out-patients without immune disease were selected and their peripheral blood was collected. Then the whole blood of peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) were pretreated with different concentration of morphine, fentanyl and tramadol for 24 h. The level of CD4+IFN-γ+IL-2+/CD4+IL-4+IL-10+ was analyzed by three-color flow cytometry, and the CD4+CCR5+ and CD4+CCR3+ cells were counted to observe the imbalance of Th2/Th2. Results: The number of Th2 increased significantly and the ratio of Th2/Th2 decreased dramatically compared with the control group, and there was a dose-dependent fashion in all drugs. Conclusion: Morphine, fentanyl and tramadol can direct Th0 cells toward Th2 differentiation, especially morphine and fentanyl. | Yanning Qian Wenjie Jin Ping Chen Ling Wang Huijuan Wang Yuke Tian Xuejun Zhou | 2005 | Journal of Nanjing Medical University2005,19,6: | 1
Studies on photoprotective mechanism of desert plant Reaumuria soongorica under progressive soil drying显示文摘Reaumuria soongorica (pall.) Maxim, a perennial desert semi-shrub, is widely found in semi-arid areas of China. It shows strong tolerance to drought, high temperature and intense radiation in its natural habitat. In the present study, photoprotective mechanism of R. soongorica was investigated by analyzing diurnal variations of gas exchange and chlorophyll fluorecence parameters during progressive soil drying. The results show that leaf water potential of R. soongorica decreased when the soil water content dropped. Diurnal patterns of net photosynthetic rate (Pn) changed from 'two peaks' to 'one peak' under drought stress, and the leaf water use efficiency (WUE) increased under moderate drought and declined under severe drought. Pn , the primary maximum photochemical efficiency of PSII (Fv/Fm) and the quantum efficiency of non-cyclic electron transport of PSII (ΦPSII) decreased obviously at noon, and showed a photoinhibition phenomenon. But, the non-photochemical quenching of fluorescence (NPQ) soon reached its maximum in the day and then remained almost at the high level until 17:00, indicating that the xanthophylls cycle-dependent thermal energy dissipation played an important role. Diurnal variations of the original chlorophyll fluorescence (Fo) increased at first and then decreased. The increased value of F o under drought stress indicates that there was a reversible inactivation of PSII reaction center. These results indicate that the photoprotective mechanism in R. soongorica was the photoinhibition by using both the xanthophylls cycle-dependent thermal energy dissipation and the reversible inactivation of PSII reaction center under drought stress. | YuBing Liu MeiLing Liu HuiJuan Tan Jin Wang ShengHui Zhou | 2010 | Research in Cold and Arid Regions2010,2,3: | 1

General Properties of Low-frequency Power Losses in Fe-based Nanocrystalline Soft Magnetic Alloys显示文摘The dependences of the power loss per cycle on frequency f and amplitude flux density Bm have been investigated for the three main original magnetic states in five sorts of Fe-based nanocrystalline soft magnetic alloys in the ranges of 10 Hz≤f≤1000 Hz and 0.4 T≤ Bm ≤1.0 T. The total loss P is decomposed into the sum of the hysteresis loss Physt, the classical eddy current loss Pei and the excess loss Pexc.Physt has been found to be proportional to Bm2 and f. The behavior of Pexc/f vs f being equivalent to p/f vs f clearly exhibits nonlinearity in the range not more than about 120 Hz, whereas the behavior of P/f vs f roughly shows linearity in the range far above 100 Hz and not more than 1000 Hz. In the range up to 1000 Hz, Physt is dominant in the original high permeability state and the state of low residual flux density, whereas Pexc in the state of high residual flux density is dominant in the wider range above about 100 Hz. The framework of the statistical theory of power loss has been used for representing the behavior of Pexc/f vs f. It has been found that the number n of the simultaneously active 'Magnetic Objects' linearly varies as n = no +Hexc/HO as a function of the dynamic field Hexc in the range below about 120 Hz, whereas n approximately follows a law of the form n = no + (Hexc/Ho)m with 1 < m < 2 in the range far above 100 Hz and not more than 1000 Hz. The values of the field Ho in principle related to the microstructure and the domain structure have been calculated for the three states. | Yanzhong ZHANG, Huijuan JIN and Ying SHI (Shanghai Key Laboratory for Research and Developing and Applications of Metallic Function Materials, Research Center, Shanghai Iron and Steel Research institute,Shanghai 200940, China) | 2000 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2000,16,1: | 1
Behavior of Medium-frequency Core Loss in Fe-based Nanocrystalline Soft Magnetic Alloys显示文摘The dependences of the power loss per cycle on frequency have been investigated in the ranges of 100 Hz≤ f ≤25000 Hz and 0.1 T ≤ B_m ≤ 1.0 T for three main original magnetic states in five sorts of Fe-based nanocrystalline soft magnetic alloys. The measured and calculated results showed that the total power loss per cycle clearly exhibited a nonlinear behavior in the range below 3 kHz-5 kHz depending on both the magnetic state and the value of B_m, whereas it showed a quasi-linear behavior above this range. The total loss was decomposed into hysteresis loss, classical eddy current loss and excess loss, the obvious nonlinear behavior has been confirmed to be completely determined by the dependence of the excess loss on frequency. It has been indicated that the change rate of the excess loss per cycle with respect to frequency sharp decreases with increasing frequency in the range below about 3 kHz-5 kHz, wherease the rate of change slowly varies above this range, thus leading to the quasilinear behavior of the total loss per cycle. In this paper, some linear expressions of the total loss per cycle has been given in a wider medium-frequency segment, which can be used for roughly estimating the total loss. | Yanzhong ZHANG, Huijuan JIN and Ying SHI (Research Centre, Shanghai Iron and Steel Research Institute, Shanghai 200940, China) | 2000 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2000,16,3: | 1
