| 2 | A system dynamics approach for water resources policy analysis in arid land:a model for Manas River Basin显示文摘The Manas River Basin in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region,similar to other arid regions,is facing water constraints which challenge decision-makers as to how to rationally allocate the available water resources to meet the demands from industries and natural ecosystems.Policies which integrate the supply and demand are needed to address the water stress issues.An object-oriented system dynamics model was developed to capture the interrelationships between water availability and increasing water demands from the growth of industries,agricultural production and the population through modeling the decision-making process of the water exploration explicitly,in which water stress is used as a major indicator.The model is composed of four sectors:1) natural surface and groundwater resources;2) water demand;3) the water exploitation process,including the decision to build reservoirs,canals and pumps;4) water stress to which political and social systems respond through increasing the supply,limiting the growth or improving the water use efficiency.The model was calibrated using data from 1949 to 2009 for population growth,irrigated land area,industry output,perceived water stress,groundwater resources availability and the drying-out process of Manas River;and simulations were carried out from 2010 to 2050 on an annual time step.The comparison of results from calibration and observation showed that the model corresponds to observed behavior,and the simulated values fit the observed data and trends accurately.Sensitivity analysis showed that the model is robust to changes in model parameters related to population growth,land reclamation,pumping capacity and capital contribution to industry development capacity.Six scenarios were designed to investigate the effectiveness of policy options in the area of reservoir relocation,urban water recycling,water demand control and groundwater pumping control.The simulation runs demonstrated that the technical solutions for improving water availability and water use efficiency are not sustainable.Acknowledging the carrying capacity of water resources and eliminating a growth-orientated value system are crucial for the sustainability of the Manas River Basin. | ShanShan DAI LanHai LI HongGang XU XiangLiang PAN XueMei LI | 2013 | Journal of Arid Land2013,5,1: | 14 |

This proposed method employs wavelet transform and guided filter instead of the soft matting procedure to estimate and refine the depth map of haze images. Moreover, a contrast enhancement method based on just noticeable difference(JND) and quadratic function is adopted to enhance the contrast for the dehazed image, since the scene radiance is usually not as bright as the atmospheric light,and the dehazed image looks dim. | 7 | Optical wafer defect inspection at the 10 nm technology node and beyond显示文摘The growing demand for electronic devices, smart devices, and the Internet of Things constitutes the primary driving force for marching down the path of decreased critical dimension and increased circuit intricacy of integrated circuits. However, as sub-10 nm high-volume manufacturing is becoming the mainstream, there is greater awareness that defects introduced by original equipment manufacturer components impact yield and manufacturing costs. The identification, positioning, and classification of these defects, including random particles and systematic defects, are becoming more and more challenging at the 10 nm node and beyond.Very recently, the combination of conventional optical defect inspection with emerging techniques such as nanophotonics, optical vortices, computational imaging, quantitative phase imaging, and deep learning is giving the field a new possibility. Hence, it is extremely necessary to make a thorough review for disclosing new perspectives and exciting trends, on the foundation of former great reviews in the field of defect inspection methods. | 8 | WAF-Based Chinese Character Recognition for Spam Image Filtering显示文摘We address the problem of filtering image spam, a kind of rapidly spread spam in which the text is embedded into images to defeat text-based spam filter.Particularly, we focus on image spam with Chinese text as 'spam' which is a more challenging task. A popular way to detect image spam is by Optical character recognition(OCR) system, which detects and recognizes the embedded text, then followed by a text classifier that discriminate spam from ham. However, spammers start to obscure image text to prevent OCR system discovering the spam text. To compensate for the shortcomings of OCR system, a novel method which essentially is a keyword reconstruction algorithm based on Word activation force(WAF) model is proposed. It is effective on discovering keywords, hence is benefit for the later classification stage and notably improve the performance of image spam filtering. | 10 | Filtering Chinese Image Spam Using Pseudo-OCR显示文摘For image spam filtering, the Optical character recognition(OCR) based methods often achieve a better performance due to the more complex structure of recognizing corresponding text. However, applying traditional OCR techniques usually introduced shortcomings like the expensive computational cost, vulnerability to image noises and artificial interferences, especially for Chinese image spam filtering. So, by optimizing recognition procedure of traditional OCR, we propose the idea of pseudo-OCR more suitable for Chinese image spam filtering. During which discriminating the potential image spam character features from ham ones is sufficient, instead of recognizing them. What's more, a novel Chinese key-point based character feature specific for pseudo-OCR is also devised and extracted using a carefully designed algorithm, which outperforms classic corner detection methods in finding such key-points. | 15 | Atomistic simulation of the structural evolution in magnesium single crystal under c-axis tension显示文摘Molecular dynamics simulation is applied to investigate the microstructure evolution of magnesium single crystals under c-axis extension at different temperatures. At low temperatures, both {10 ˉ 12} and {10 ˉ 11} twins are observed. At elevated temperatures, {10 ˉ 11} twining decreases quickly with increasing temperature, while the amount of {10 ˉ 12} twins increases. The {10 ˉ 12} twin is found to be the main deformation mechanism under the c-axis tension in the magnesium single crystal. Meanwhile, shear bands are also observed during deformation. | 19 | Stratigraphic Sequence and Sedimentary Systems in the Middle-Southern Continental Slope of the East China Sea from Seismic Reflection Data: Exploration Prospects of Gas Hydrate显示文摘Many evidences for gas hydrate bearing sediments had been found in the continental slope of the East China Sea,such as bottom simulating reflections(BSRs),undersea gas springs,pyrite associated with methane leakage,mud diapirs/mud volcanos,bottom-water methane anomalies and so on.In this study,six key stratigraphic interfaces including T_0(seafloor),T_1(LGM,23 kyr B.P.),T_2(2.58 Myr),T_3(5.33 Myr),T_4(11.02 Myr)and T_5(16.12 Myr)were identified,and then five third-order sequences of SQIII1 to SQIII5 were divided.However,T5 in southern continental slope is not found,which shows that the middle-northern Okinawa Trough had begun to rift in the early Miocene,earlier than the southern segment.Four system tracts including lowstand systems tract(LST),transgressive systems tract(TST),highstand systems tract(HST)and falling stage systems tract(FSST)are further divided.The marine erosion interface of 11.02 Myr and regressive unconformity interface of 23 kyr B.P.indicate two large-scale sea level drop events in the research area.Seven typical seismic facies identified in the continental slope are continental shelf-edge deltas,littoral fluvial-delta plains,incised channels or submarine canyons,slope fans,submarine fans or coastal sandbars,littoral-neritic finegrained sediments,mud volcanos and some other geological bodies respectively.The minimum water depth for hydrate occurrence in the Okinawa Trough is 630 m,and the thickness of gas hydrate stability zone in continental slope is between 0 and 590 m.The calculated bottom boundary of hydrate stability zone is slightly deeper than BSRs on the seismic sections.The re-depositional turbidite sand bodies,such as canyon channels,slope fans and submarine fans developed in Quaternary strata,are the predominant hydrate reservoirs.According to developing process,the dynamic accumulation of hydrate systems can be divided into three evolutionary stages including canyon erosion and hydrate stability zone migration stage,sediments destabilizing and methane leakage stage,and channel filling and hydrate re-occurrence stage. | LI Deyong CHEN Hongyan XU Shujuan XING Junhui CHENG Honggang WANG Jinkai | 2019 | Journal of Ocean University of China2019,18,6: | 1 |
