| 2 | Rice Heavy Metal P-type ATPase OsHMA6 Is Likely a Copper Efflux Protein显示文摘P1B-type heavy metal ATPases(HMAs)are transmembrane metal-transporting proteins that play a key role in metal homeostasis.We here reported the characterization of rice OsHMA6,a member of the P1B-type ATPase family.Phylogenetic tree analysis showed that OsHMA6 belonged to the Cu/Ag subgroup of the HMA family and had a close evolutionary relationship with OsHMA9.Amino acid sequence alignment showed 82.78%consistency between OsHMA6 and OsHMA9.OsHMA6 expressed in all organs at different growth stages,including spikelet,and abundant in leaf blades,however,OsHMA9 most strongly expressed in roots,but very low in spikelet.Excessive Cu^2+can up-regulate the expression of OsHMA6 and OsHMA9 in rice seedlings.The heterologous expression in yeast showed that OsHMA6 can significantly rescue the growth of yeast strain CM52 when supplied with 3 or 6 mmol/L Cu^2+.Compared with the empty vector pYES2,the Cu concentration in OsHMA6-pYES2 decreased by 23.4%and 30.3%under 3 or 6 mmol/L Cu2+,respectively.Subcellular localization revealed that OsHMA6 was located in the plasma membrane.These results suggested that OsHMA6,similar to OsHMA9,is likely a copper efflux protein located in the plasma membrane. | ZOU Wenli LI Chang ZHU Yajun CHEN Jingguang HE Haohua YE Guoyou | 2020 | Rice science2020,27,2: | 2 |

| 7 | Reactive oxygen species(ROS)-responsive size-reducible nanoassemblies for deeper atherosclerotic plaque penetration and enhanced macrophage-targeted drug delivery显示文摘Nanoparticle-based therapeutics represent potential strategies for treating atherosclerosis;however,the complex plaque microenvironment poses a barrier for nanoparticles to target the dysfunctional cells.Here,we report reactive oxygen species(ROS)-responsive and size-reducible nanoassemblies,formed by multivalent host-guest interactions betweenβ-cyclodextrins(β-CD)-anchored discoidal recombinant high-density lipoprotein(NP^(3)_(ST))and hyaluronic acid-ferrocene(HA-Fc)conjugates.The HA-Fc/NP^(3)_(ST)nanoassemblies have extended blood circulation time,specifically accumulate in atherosclerotic plaque mediated by the HA receptors CD44 highly expressed in injured endothelium,rapidly disassemble in response to excess ROS in the intimal and release smaller NP^(3)_(ST),allowing for further plaque penetration,macrophage-targeted cholesterol efflux and drug delivery.In vivo pharmacodynamicses in atherosclerotic mice shows that HA-Fc/NP^(3)_(ST)reduces plaque size by 53%,plaque lipid deposition by 63%,plaque macrophage content by 62%and local inflammatory factor level by 64%compared to the saline group.Meanwhile,HA-Fc/NP^(3)_(ST)alleviates systemic inflammation characterized by reduced serum inflammatory factor levels.Collectively,HA-Fc/NP^(3)_(ST)nanoassemblies with ROS-responsive and size-reducible properties exhibit a deeper penetration in atherosclerotic plaque and enhanced macrophage targeting ability,thus exerting effective cholesterol efflux and drug delivery for atherosclerosis therapy. | Jianhua He Wenli Zhang Xiaoju Zhou Fengfei Xu Jiahui Zou Qiqi Zhang Yi Zhao Hongliang He Hu Yang Jianping Liu | 2023 | Bioactive Materials2023,,1: | 1 |

| 9 | Competitiveness of alga Microcystis aeruginosa co-cultivated with cyanobacterium Raphidiopsis raciborskii confirms its dominating position显示文摘Microcystis aeruginosa has always been regarded as the main culprit of cyanobacterial blooms in freshwater.However,in recent years,Raphidiopsis raciborskii has gradually replaced M.aeruginosa as the culprit of cyanobacterial blooms in some tropical and subtropical shallow lakes.To reveal which one plays a more dominant role,interactions between cylindrospermospin(CYN)-producing R.raciborskii and microcystins(MCs)-producing or non-MCs-producing M.aeruginosa strains were studied using bialgal cultures at different initial ratios of biomasses of the two species at 25℃.During the co-cultivation,the M.aeruginosa strains inhibited the growth and heterocyst formation of R.raciborskii filaments,and thus occupied a dominant position during the co-cultivation regardless of the initial biomass ratios in the cultures.In addition,the MCs-producing M aeruginosa strain contributed to a higher portion of the total biomass and exerted a stronger inhibitory effect on R.raciborskii compared with the non-MCs-producing strain.However,the growth of both MCs-producing and non-MCs-producing M.aeruginosa strains was stimulated by R.raciborskii in the co-cultures compared with M.aeruginosa monoculture,indicating that M.aeruginosa could outcompete R.raciborskii if given enough time,enabling it to develop into the dominant species even in very low initial concentration.To our best knowledge,this is the first report on the loss of heterocyst formation by a species of cyanobacteria that resulted from interactions between two different species of cyanobacteria.These findings indicate that it is difficult for R.raciborskii to replace the dominant position of M.aeruginosa under the experimental environmental condition,and the allelopathic effects of M.aeruginosa on R.raciborskii could significantly contribute to the success of M.aeruginosa. | Zengling MA Xiaoqiao ZHANG Renhui LI Min WANG Wenli QIN He ZHANG Gang LI Henguo YU Chuanjun DAI Min ZHAO | 2022 | Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2022,40,5: | 1 |

| 14 | Community Characteristics and Species Diversity of Wetland Plants in the Yangguan Nature Reserve of Dunhuang显示文摘As a typical inland wetland, Yangguan nature reserve wetland in Dunhuang is one of the important stops of migratory route for birds, which is vulnerable and particular. Study on the community characteristics and species diversity of wetland has great signifi cance for biodiversity protection. Based on the fi eld investigation, the fl oristic composition, geographical elements and species diversity of wetland plants were studied in Yangguan reserve of Dunhuang. The results showed that 26 families, 56 genera and 74 species were recorded in the study area. The largest families were the Gramineae and Chenopodiaceae, accounting for 29.73% of the total. Herbs were the most abundant life-form, accounting for 77.03% of the total. The fl oral geographical elements of the plants were mainly composed of temperate zone distribution type. By using two way indicator species analysis(TWINSPAN), the vegetation in 36 sampling plots could be classifi ed into 8 communities. The species diversity indexes of communities were relatively low, but had large differences among each other. According to the importance value, the Margalef richness index(Rm) ranged from 0 to 4.200. Simpson diversity index(D) was between 0 and 0.512; Shannon diversity index(H) ranged from 0 to 1.400, and Pielou evenness index(J) was within the range of 0.538 to 1.000. | 18 | Molybdenum disulfide@nickel phyllosilicate hybrid for improving the flame retardancy and wear resistance of epoxy composites显示文摘In this study,nickel phyllosilicate was synthesized based on molybdenum disulfide(MoS2@NiPS)by the sol-gel method,and then MoS2@NiPS was used to prepare epoxy composites.The thermal stability,flame retardancy,and frictional performances of epoxy composites were studied.With the addition of 3 wt%MoS2@NiPS,the epoxy composite increased the limiting oxygen index from 23.8%to 26.1%and reduced the vertical burning time from 166 s for epoxy resin to 35 s.The residual char of the epoxy composite increased from 11.8 to 20.2 wt%.MoS2@NiPS promoted the graphitization of the residual char,and facilitated the formation of a dense and continuous char layer,thereby improving the fire safety of epoxy resin.The epoxy composite with 3 wt%MoS2@NiPS had excellent wear resistance property with a wear rate of 2.19×10^(‒5) mm^(3)·N^(-1)·m^(-1),which was 68.8%lower than that of epoxy resin.This study presented a practical approach to improve the frictional and fire resistance of epoxy composites. | Shibin Nie Wei He Yuxuan Xu Wenli Zhai Hong Zhang Jinian Yang | 2023 | Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2023,17,12: | 0 |
| 19 | Epstein-Barr virus DNA loads in the peripheral blood cells predict the survival of locoregionally-advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients显示文摘Objective:Circulating cell-free Epstein-Barr virus(EBV)DNA has been shown to be a valuable biomarker for population screening and prognostic surveillance for nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC).Despite important insights into the biology of persistence,few studies have addressed the clinical significance of cell-based EBV-DNA loads in peripheral blood cells(PBCs).Methods:A prospective observational cohort study was conducted involving 1,063 newly diagnosed,locoregionally-advanced NPC patients at Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center from 2005 to 2007.Cox regression analysis was conducted to identify the association of PBC EBV DNA loads to overall survival(OS)and other prognostic outcomes.Prognostic nomograms were developed based on PBC EBV DNA loads to predict survival outcomes for NPC patients.Results:After a median follow-up of 108 months,patients with higher PBC EBV-DNA loads had significantly worse OS[hazard ratio(HR)of medium,medium-high,and high vs.low were 1.50,1.52,and 1.85 respectively;Ptrend<0.001].Similar results were found for progression-free survival and distant metastasis-free survival.The concordance index of the prognostic nomogram for predicting OS in the training set and validation set were 0.70 and 0.66,respectively.Our data showed that the PBC EBV DNA load was an independent and robust survival biomarker,which remained significant even after adjusting for plasma EBV DNA loads in a subset of 205 patients of the cohort(HR:1.88;P=0.025).Importantly,a combination of PBC EBV DNA load and plasma EBV DNA load improved the predicted OS.Conclusions:The EBV-DNA load in PBCs may be an independent prognosis marker for NPC patients. | Yongqiao He Dawei Yang Ting Zhou Wenqiong Xue Jiangbo Zhang Fangfang Li Fang Wang Tongmin Wang Ziyi Wu Ying Liao Meiqi Zheng Changmi Deng Danhua Li Yijing Jia Leilei Yuan Wenli Zhang Weihua Jia | 2021 | Cancer Biology & Medicine2021,18,3: | 0 |
| 20 | A novel peptide specifically binding to VEGF receptor suppresses angiogenesis in vitro and in vivo显示文摘Vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF),one of the most important angiogenic factors,plays an essential role in both physiological and pathological angiogenesis through binding to VEGF receptors(VEGFRs).Here we report a novel peptide designated HRHTKQRHTALH(peptide HRH),which was isolated from the Ph.D.-12 phage display library using VEGFR-Fc fusion protein as the bait.This peptide was found to dose-dependently inhibit the proliferation of human umbilical vein endothelial cells stimulated by VEGF.The anti-angiogenesis effect of the HRH peptide was further confirmed in vivo using the chick chorioallantoic membrane assay,which was also dose-dependent.Besides,peptide HRH was proved to inhibit corneal neovascularization in an alkali-burnt rat corneal model and a suture-induced rat corneal model.Taken together,these findings suggest that the HRH peptide can inhibit angiogenesis both in vitro and in vivo.Consequently,the HRHTKQRHTALH peptide might be a promising lead peptide for the development of potential angiogenic inhibitors. | Yuan Zhang Bifang He Kun Liu Lin Ning Delun Luo Kai Xu Wenli Zhu Zhigang Wu Jian Huang Xun Xu | 2017 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2017,2,1: | 0 |
