| 1 | Amplitude-Integrated Electroencephalography Predicts Outcome in Patients with Coma After Acute Brain Injury显示文摘Prognostication of coma patients after brain injury is important, yet challenging. In this study, we evaluated the predictive value of amplitude-integrated electroencephalography(a EEG) for neurological outcomes in coma patients. From January 2013 to January 2016, 128 coma patients after acute brain injury were prospectively enrolled and monitored with a EEG. The 6-month neurological outcome was evaluated using the Cerebral Performance Category Scale. a EEG monitoring commenced at a median of 7.5 days after coma onset. Continuous normal voltage predicted a good 6-month neurological outcome with a sensitivity of 93.6% and specificity of 85.2%. In contrast, continuous extremely low voltage, burst-suppression, or a flat tracing was correlated with poor 6-month neurological outcome with a sensitivity of 76.5% and specificity of 100%. | 2 | Relationship between plant canopy characteristics and photosynthetic productivity in diverse cultivars of cotton(Gossypium hirsutum L.)显示文摘Genotype and plant type affect photosynthetic production by changing the canopy structure in crops.To analyze the mechanism of action of heterosis and plant type on canopy structure in cotton(Gossypium hirsutum L.),we had selected two cotton hybrids(Shiza 2,Xinluzao 43) and two conventional varieties(Xinluzao 13,Xinluzao 33) with different plant types in this experiment.We studied canopy characteristics and their correlation with photosynthesis in populations of different genotypes and plant types during yield formation in Xinjiang,China.Canopy characteristics including leaf area index(LAI),mean foliage tilt angle(MTA),canopy openness(DIFN),and chlorophyll relative content(SPAD).The results showed that LAI and SPAD peak values were higher and their peak values arrived later,and the adjustment capacity of MTA during the flowering and boll-forming stages was stronger in Xinluzao 43,with the normal-leaf,pagoda plant type,than these values in other varieties.DIFN of Xinluzao 43 remained between0.09 and 0.12 during the flowering and boll-forming stages,but was lower than that in the other varieties during the boll-opening stage.Thus,these characteristics of Xinluzao 43 were helpful for optimizing the light environment and maximizing light interception,thereby increasing photosynthetic capability.The photosynthetic rate and photosynthetic area were thus affected by cotton genotype as changes in the adjustment range of MTA,increases in peak values of LAI and SPAD,and extension of the functional stage of leaves.Available photosynthetic area and canopy light environment were affected by cotton plant type as changes in MTA and DIFN.Heterosis expression and plant type development were coordinated during different growth stages,the key to optimizing the canopy structure and further increasing yield. | Guoyi Feng Honghai Luo Yali Zhang Ling Gou Yandi Yao Yongzeng Lin Wangfeng Zhang | 2016 | The Crop Journal2016,4,6: | 6 |
| 3 | Comprehensive Proteomic Profiling of Patients'Tears Identifies Potential Biomarkers for the Traumatic Vegetative State显示文摘The vegetative state is a complex condition with unclear mechanisms and limited diagnostic, prognostic,and therapeutic methods. In this study, we aimed to explore the proteomic profile of tears from patients in a traumatic vegetative state and identify potential diagnostic markers using tears—a body fluid that can be collected noninvasively. Using i TRAQ quantitative proteomic technology, in the discovery phase, tear samples collected from 16 patients in a traumatic vegetative state and 16 normal individuals were analyzed. Among 1080 identified tear proteins, 57 were upregulated and 15 were downregulated in the patients compared to the controls. Bioinformatics analysis revealed that the differentially-expressed proteins were mainly involved in the wound response and immune response signaling pathways. Furthermore, we verified the levels of 7 differentially-expressed proteins in tears from50 traumatic vegetative state patients and 50 normal controls(including the samples used in the discovery phase) using ELISA. The results showed that this 7-protein panel had a high discrimination ability for traumatic vegetative state(area under the curve = 0.999). | 6 | A real-time AI-assisted seismic monitoring system based on new nodal stations with 4G telemetry and its application in the Yangbi M_(S) 6.4 aftershock monitoring in southwest China显示文摘A rapidly deployable dense seismic monitoring system which is capable of transmitting acquired data in real time and analyzing data automatically is crucial in seismic hazard mitigation after a major earthquake.However,it is rather difficult for current seismic nodal stations to transmit data in real time for an extended period of time,and it usually takes a great amount of time to process the acquired data manually.To monitor earthquakes in real time flexibly,we develop a mobile integrated seismic monitoring system consisting of newly developed nodal units with 4G telemetry and a real-time AI-assisted automatic data processing workflow.The integrated system is convenient for deployment and has been successfully applied in monitoring the aftershocks of the Yangbi M_(S) 6.4 earthquake occurred on May 21,2021 in Yangbi County,Dali,Yunnan in southwest China.The acquired seismic data are transmitted almost in real time through the 4G cellular network,and then processed automat-ically for event detection,positioning,magnitude calculation and source mechanism inversion.From tens of seconds to a couple of minutes at most,the final seismic attributes can be presented remotely to the end users through the integrated system.From May 27 to June 17,the real-time system has detected and located 7905 aftershocks in the Yangbi area before the internal batteries exhausted,far more than the catalog provided by China Earthquake Networks Center using the regional permanent stations.The initial application of this inte-grated real-time monitoring system is promising,and we anticipate the advent of a new era for Real-time Intelligent Array Seismology(RIAS),for better monitoring and understanding the subsurface dynamic pro-cesses caused by Earth's internal forces as well as anthropogenic activities. | Junlun Li Huajian Yao Baoshan Wang Yang Yang Xin Hu Lishu Zhang Beng Ye Jun Yang Xiaobin Li Feng Liu Guoyi Chen Chang Guo Wen Yang | 2022 | Earthquake Research Advances2022,2,2: | 1 |

| 9 | Restructuring Tilth Layers Can Change the Microbial Community Structure and Affect the Occurrence of Verticillium Wilt in Cotton Field显示文摘Restructuring tilth layers(RTL)is a tillage method that exchanges the 0–20 and 20–40 cm soil layers that can be applied during cotton cultivation to increase cotton yield,eliminate weeds and alleviate severe disease,including Verticillium wilt.However,the mechanism by which RTL inhibits Verticillium wilt is unclear.Therefore,we investigated the distribution of microbial communities after rotary tillage(CK)and RTL treatments to identify the reasons for the reduction of Verticillium wilt in cotton fields subjected to RTL.Illumina high-throughput sequencing was used to sequence the bacterial and fungal genes.The disease incidence and severity of Verticillium wilt decreased by 28.57%and 42.64%,respectively,after RTL.Moreover,RTL significantly enhanced bacterial richness and evenness at 20–40 cm and-reduced the differences in fungal evenness and richness between soil depths of 0–20 and 20–40 cm.The number of Verticillium dahliae decreased,while the relative abundance of biocontrol bacteria such as Bacillus and Pseudoxanthomonas increased significantly following RTL.Overall RTL improved bacterial diversity,decreased the number of Verticillium dahliae and increased the relative abundance of biocontrol bacteria,which may have suppressed the occurrence of Verticillium wilt in cotton fields. | Ming Dong Yan Wang Shulin Wang Guoyi Feng Qian Zhang Yongzeng Lin Qinglong Liang Yongqiang Wang Hong Qi | 2023 | Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2023,92,10: | 0 |

| 11 | An innovative three-layer strategy in response to a quartan malaria outbreak among forest goers in Hainan Island,China:a retrospective study显示文摘Background:An outbreak of Plasmodium malariae infection among forest goers in Sanya City of Hainan Island,China was reported in 2015.In response to this outbreak,an innovative three-layer strategy(TLS)targeted forest goers was adapted based on the 1-3-7 approach.Main text:Key elements of TLS are:(i)The village with fve malaria cases and adjacent villages were set as the frst layer.All residents including forest goers were taken as the high-risk population(HRP).Active case detection(ACD)by blood smear microscopy and PCR was selected as the primary measure,and passive case detection(PCD)as complementary measure.One case was identifed under TLS implementation.(ii)The township with cases(Gaofeng Town)and the nearby towns were chosen as the second layer.Only forest goers were screened by ACD,while PCD as a routine screening method.7831 blood smears collected by ACD and PCD and tested with negative results.(iii)The city with cases(Sanya City)and others 12 counties/county-level cities were selected as the third layer.Malaria cases were monitored passively.A total of 77,555 blood slides were screened by PCD with zero positive sample.For each layer,the malaria vector mosquitoes were monitored using light traps,cattle-baited/human-bait traps.Anopheles minimus(dominant species),An.sinensis and An.dirus were captured.Vector control measures mainly include insecticide residual spraying and long-lasting insecticide nets.The capacity of clinicians,public health practitioners and laboratory technicians has been improved through training.During 2016‒2018,TLS and chemoprophylaxis were implemented in the same areas.In the frst layer,all residents were monitored by ACD,and malaria chemoprophylaxis were distributed,89.5%of forest goers were using chemoprophylaxis against malaria.The blood smears(3126 by ACD plus 1516 by PCD)were with zero positive results.Chemoprophylaxis and ACD were ofered to forest goers once a year,and PCD in residents as a complementary measure in the second and third layer,77.8%and 95.1%of forest goers received chemoprophylaxis.In each layer,vector surveillance and control of malaria and trainings for medical staf Conclusions:TLS was efective in blocking the outbreak by P.malariae among forest goers in Hainan in malaria elimination stage.However,whether it could prevent the malaria resurgence in the post-elimination phase needs to be further assessed. | Yuchun Li Yingjuan Huang Renqiang Chen Weizhen Huang Huanzhi Xu Rongshen Ye Shaoling Huang Ji Zhen Xiaodan Wen Guoyi Wang Yong Liu Haishan Li Zaichun Zheng Jian Wang Guoshen Wang Chong Chen Wen Zeng Feng Meng Xiaoming Huang Guangze Wang Bing Yang Yan Chen | 2022 | Infectious Diseases of Poverty2022,11,5: | 0 |

| 13 | Elevational patterns and ecological determinants of mean family age of angiosperm assemblages in temperate forests within Mount Taibai, China显示文摘Aims Species assembly is shaped by the interactions among ecological and evolutionary processes.By integrating the niche conservatism and evolutionary history,the tropical niche conservatism hypoth-esis(TCH)has clarified species latitudinal diversity gradient at large scales.One of the TCH’s central predictions,though lack-ing empirical evidence,implies that positive relationship between clade age and temperature along the altitudinal gradient should also be observed.Thus,we aim to test this prediction using a data set derived from forest communities of Mt.Taibai,central China.Methods We systematically established 49 plots(20 m×30 m)along the north slope on Mt.Taibai,China.We calculated the mean family age(MFA)and its corresponding standardized values through rarefi-cation and standardization,for woody and herbaceous angiosperm assemblages in each community respectively.Generalized linear models with Akaike weight and correlation analysis was used to evaluate the relationships between MFA with seven environmental predictors.Important Findings For both woody and herbaceous assemblages,the standardized MFA showed significant decreasing tendencies along the eleva-tional gradient and positive associations with minimum temperature(measured as mean temperature of the coldest month).Additionally,minimum temperature is the dominant predictor compared with the others in the regression models.These findings are generally con-sistent with the age-related predictions of the TCH,but are contrary to the results of related studies conducted in tropical regions. | Mingfei Zhao Yuhang Wang Feng Xue Wanyi Zuo Kaixiong Xing Guoyi Wang Muyi Kang Yuan Jiang | 2018 | Journal of Plant Ecology2018,11,6: | 0 |
