| 1 | Leaching ion adsorption rare earth by aluminum sulfate for increasing efficiency and lowering the environmental impact显示文摘The leaching efficiency(LE) of ion adsorption rare earth(IARE) by the sulfate and chloride of ammonium,magnesium and aluminum were comparatively determined using column leaching method. It is found that at equal equivalent concentration of cation, the LE of IARE by aluminum sulfate is the highest, and the zeta potential of clay mineral particles in the tailing is near to zero, which means a lower risk of landslide and pollutant emission. Furthermore, the optimum concentration of aluminum sulfate is determined to be0.02 mol/L, which is much lower than that of ammonium sulfate and magnesium sulfate. To reduce the production cost and environmental impact, we proposed a multi-stage leaching process, which was firstly leaching with ammonium sulfate and then with aluminum sulfate, following by water washing and lime neutralizing. With the ratio of ammonium sulfate to aluminum sulfate varying from 1:0 to 0.5:0.5, the residual ammonium in tailing decreases from 11.2% to 0.6%, however, the LE of RE shows an optimum value at 0.8:0.2. By neutralizing the pH of tailing with lime water to over 6, the ion concentration in water rinsing solution can meet the requirement for water discharge. At the same time, the zeta potential of clay particles is found to be around-5 mV, means a relatively lower risk of landslide. | 2 | Mercury mass flow in iron and steel production process and its implications for mercury emission control显示文摘The iron and steel production process is one of the predominant anthropogenic sources of atmospheric mercury emissions worldwide. In this study, field tests were conducted to study mercury emission characteristics and mass flows at two iron and steel plants in China. It was found that low-sulfur flue gas from sintering machines could contribute up to41% of the total atmospheric mercury emissions, and desulfurization devices could remarkably help reduce the emissions. Coal gas burning accounted for 17%–49% of the total mercury emissions, and therefore the mercury control of coal gas burning, specifically for the power plant burning coal gas to generate electricity, was significantly important. The emissions from limestone and dolomite production and electric furnaces can contribute29.3% and 4.2% of the total mercury emissions from iron and steel production. More attention should be paid to mercury emissions from these two processes. Blast furnace dust accounted for 27%–36% of the total mercury output for the whole iron and steel production process. The recycling of blast furnace dust could greatly increase the atmospheric mercury emissions and should not be conducted. The mercury emission factors for the coke oven,sintering machine and blast furnace were 0.039–0.047 g Hg/ton steel, and for the electric furnace it was 0.021 g Hg/ton steel. | 4 | Intracellular Signals of T Cell Costimulation显示文摘Ligation of T cell receptor (TCR) alone is insufficient to induce full activation of T lymphocytes. Additional ligand-receptor interactions (costimulation) on antigen presenting cells (APCs) and T cells are required. T cell costimulation has been shown to be essential for eliciting efficient T cell responses,involving all phases during T cell development. However,the mechanisms by which costimulation affects the function of T cells still need to be elucidated. In recent years,advances have been made in studies of costimulation as potential therapies in cancer,infectious disease as well as autoimmune disease. In this review,we discussed intracellular costimulation signals that regulate T cell proliferation,cell cycle progression,cytokine production,survival,and memory development. In general,the pathway of phosphoinositide-3 kinase (PI3K)/protein kinase B (PKB,also known as Akt)/nuclear factor κB (NF-κB) might be central to many costimulatory effects. | 5 | Open-circuit Fault Diagnosis of Traction Inverter Based on Compressed Sensing Theory显示文摘This study proposes a new method of fault diagnosis based on the least squares support vector machine with gradient information(G-LS-SVM)to solve the insulated-gate bipolar transistor(IGBT)open-circuit failure problem of the traction inverter in a catenary power supply system.First,a simulation model based on traction inverter topology is built,and various voltage fault signal waveforms are simulated based on the IGBT inverter open-circuit fault classification.Second,compressive sensing theory is used to sparsely represent the voltage fault signal and make it a fault signal.The new method has a high degree of sparseness and builds an overcomplete dictionary model containing the feature vectors of voltage fault signals based on a double sparse dictionary model to match the sparse signal characteristics.Finally,the space vector transform is used to represent the three-phase voltage scalar in the traction inverter as a composite quantity to reduce the redundancy of the fault signals and data-processing capabilities.A G-LS-SVM fault diagnosis model is then built to diagnose and identify the voltage fault signal feature vector in an overcomplete dictionary.The simulation results show that the accuracy of this method for various types of IGBT tube fault diagnosis is over 98.92%.Moreover,the G-LS-SVM model is robust and not affected by Gaussian white noise. | Yongqi Cheng Weiguang Dong Fengyang Gao Guoqing Xin | 2020 | Chinese Journal of Electrical Engineering2020,6,1: | 6 |
| 6 | Molecular Characterization of Avian-like H1N1 Swine Influenza A Viruses Isolated in Eastern China, 2011显示文摘Currently, three predominant subtypes of influenza virus are prevalent in pig populations worldwide: H1N1, H3N2, and H1N2. European avian-like H1N1 viruses, which were initially detected in European pig populations in 1979, have been circulating in pigs in eastern China since 2007. In this study, six influenza A viruses were isolated from 60 swine lung samples collected from January to April 2011 in eastern China. Based on whole genome sequencing, molecular characteristics of two isolates were determined. Phylogenetic analysis showed the eight genes of the two isolates were closely related to those of the avian-like H1N1 viruses circulating in pig populations, especially similar to those found in China. Four potential glycosylation sites were observed at positions 13, 26, 198, 277 in the HA1 proteins of the two isolates. Due to the presence of a stop codon at codon 12, the isolates contained truncated PB1-F2 proteins. In this study, the isolates contained 591Q, 627E and 701N in the polymerase subunit PB2, which had been shown to be determinants of virulence and host adaptation. The isolates also had a D rather than E at position 92 of the NS1, a marker of mammalian adaptation. Both isolates contained the GPKV motif at the PDZ ligand domain of the 3' end of the NS1, a characteristic marker of the European avian-like swine viruses since about 1999, which is distinct from those of avian, human and classical swine viruses. The M2 proteins of the isolates have the mutation (S31N), a characteristic marker of the European avian-like swine viruses since about 1987, which may confer resistance to amantadine and rimantadine antivirals. | 8 | 120 mm Single-crystalline perovskite and wafers: towards viable applications显示文摘As the large single-crystalline silicon wafers have revolutionized many industries including electronics and solar cells, it is envisioned that the availability of large single-crystalline perovskite crystals and wafers will revolutionize its broad applications in photovoltaics, optoelectronics, lasers, photodetectors, light emitting diodes(LEDs), etc. Here we report a method to grow large single-crystalline perovskites including single-halide crystals: CH3NH3PbX3(X=I, Br, Cl), and dual-halide ones:CH3NH3Pb(ClxBr1.x)3 and CH3NH3Pb(BrxI1.x)3, with the largest crystal being 120 mm in length. Meanwhile, we have advanced a process to slice the large perovskite crystals into thin wafers. It is found that the wafers exhibit remarkable features:(1)its trap-state density is a million times smaller than that in the microcrystalline perovskite thin films(MPTF);(2) its carrier mobility is 410 times higher than its most popular organic counterpart P3HT;(3) its optical absorption is expanded to as high as910 nm comparing to 797 nm for the MPTF;(4) while MPTF decomposes at 150 °C, the wafer is stable at high temperature up to270 °C;(5) when exposed to high humidity(75% RH), MPTF decomposes in 5 h while the wafer shows no change for overnight;(6) its photocurrent response is 250 times higher than its MPTF counterpart. A few electronic devices have been fabricated using the crystalline wafers. Among them, the Hall test gives low carrier concentration with high mobility. The trap-state density is measured much lower than common semiconductors. Moreover, the large SC-wafer is found particularly useful for mass production of integrated circuits. By adjusting the halide composition, both the optical absorption and the light emission can be fine-tuned across the entire visible spectrum from 400 nm to 800 nm. It is envisioned that a range of visible lasers and LEDs may be developed using the dual-halide perovskites. | 11 | Phenotypic and genetic parameter estimation of juvenile growth and bottom color traits in half-smooth tongue sole,Cynoglossus semilaevis显示文摘Half-smooth tongue sole(Cynoglossus semilaevis) is a commercially important fish species. There were no reports about accurate genetic parameters of growth traits in C. semilaevis, despite efforts aimed at the culture of this species. Therefore, the main goal of this study was to estimate the parameters for the early growth traits(total length, body depth and body weight) of C. semilaevis based on the data obtained from 80 families. The trait of fish with pure white bottom or not(named as the trait of bottom color) was also analyzed. All the heritabilities estimated for the traits were medium, which varied from 0.210 to 0.362. Genetic correlations among growth traits were highly positive, varying from 0.913 to 0.959, indicating that selection of one of the three traits would result in correlated increase in the others. Also, genetic correlations between bottom color and growth traits were positive and varying from 0.241 to 0.353, suggesting that selection for the bottom color can be utilized to enhance the selection of growth traits. In addition, fish from the top performing 16 full-sib families were selected as broodstock, based on the above analysis and the comparison of family breeding value. | 19 | Cyclophosphamide abrogates the expansion of CD4^(+)Foxp3^(+) regulatory T cells and enhances the efficacy of bleomycin in the treatment of mouse B16-F10 melanomas显示文摘Objective:Promotion of the proliferative expansion of CD4^(+)Foxp3^(+)regulatory T cells(Tregs)is one of the side effects that limits the use of bleomycin(BLM)in the treatment of tumors.In this study,we examined the hypothesis that cyclophosphamide(CY),a chemotherapeutic agent with the capacity to eliminate tumor infiltrating Tregs,abrogated BLM-induced expansion of Tregs and consequently resulted in a better anti-tumor effect.Methods:The in vitro effects of BLM,with or without mafosfamide(MAF,the active metabolite of CY),on both TGF-β-induced differentiation of Tregs(iTregs),and TNF-induced expansion of naturally occurring Tregs(nTregs)were assessed.The in vivo effect of low doses of BLM and CY on tumor-infiltrating Tregs,as well as on the growth of mouse B16-F10 melanomas,was also studied.Results:In vitro treatment with BLM promoted the differentiation of iTregs,as well as TNF-induced expansion of nTregs.These effects of BLM were completely abrogated by MAF.Furthermore,in the mouse B16-F10 melanoma model,treatment with low doses of BLM increased the number of tumor-infiltrating Tregs,and this effect of BLM was also abrogated by CY.Importantly,combination therapy with low doses of BLM and CY showed synergistic anti-tumor effects.Conclusions:CY abrogated the effect of BLM on the expansion of Tregs.The combination of these 2 chemotherapeutic agents may represent a safer and more effective therapy in the treatment of cancer patients,and thus merits future clinical evaluation. | Ping Li Fengyang Chen Jingbin Zheng Yang Yang Yuan Li Yifei Wang Xin Chen | 2021 | Cancer Biology & Medicine2021,18,4: | 1 |
