| 4 | Online schedule for autonomy of multiple unmanned aerial vehicles显示文摘An online rectangle based scheduling algorithm(RSA) is developed to improve autonomy of multiple unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs) to search a field of forest together. The purposes of RSA are to online decide the number of the UAVs to be assigned and to schedule the path for the assigned UAVs to search the missed areas resulted from the previous search. The main ideas of RSA are to cover each separated zone of the missed areas with a rectangle and then to schedule the path to search the rectangles. Thus, RSA is robust against the unknown shapes and sizes of the missed areas. The forest search is applied to verify the online RSA in simulation. | 5 | Extraction and separation of nickel and cobalt from saprolite laterite ore by microwave-assisted hydrothermal leaching and chemical deposition显示文摘Extraction and separation of nickel and cobalt from saprolite laterite ore were studied by using a method of microwave-assisted hydrothermal leaching and chemical deposition. The effects of leaching temperature and time on the extraction efficiencies of Ni2+ and Co2+ were investigated in detail under microwave conditions. It is shown that the extraction efficiencies of Ni2+ and Co2+ from the ore pre-roasted at 300 C for 5 h were 89.19% and 61.89% when the leaching temperature and time were about 70 C and 60 min, respectively. For the separation process of Ni and Co, the separation of main chemical components was performed by adjusting the pH values of sulfuric leaching solutions using a NaOH solution based on the different pH values of precipitation for metal hydroxides. The final separation efficiencies of Ni and Co were 77.29% and 65.87%, respectively. | 8 | 3D uniform nitrogen-doped carbon skeleton for ultra-stable sodium metal anode显示文摘Sodium metal batteries are arousing extensive interest owing to their high energy density,low cost and wide resource.However,the practical development of sodium metal batteries is inherently plagued by the severe volume expansion and the dendrite growth of sodium metal anode during long cycles under high current density.Herein,a simple electrospinning method is applied to construct the uniformly nitrogen-doped porous carbon fiber skeleton and used as three-dimensional(3D)current collector for sodium metal anode,which has high specific surface area(1,098 m^2/g)and strong binding to sodium metal.As a result,nitrogen-doped carbon fiber current collector shows a low sodium deposition overpotential and a highly stable cyclability for 3,500 h with a high coulombic effciency of 99.9%at 2 mA/cm^2 and 2 mAh/cm^2.Moreover,the full cells using carbon coated sodium vanadium phosphate as cathode and sodium pre-plated nitrogen-doped carbon fiber skeleton as hybrid anode can stably cycle for 300 times.These results illustrate an effective strategy to construct a 3D uniformly nitrogen-doped carbon skeleton based sodium metal hybrid anode without the formation of dendrites,which provide a prospect for further development and research of high performance sodium metal batteries. | Ben Liu Danni Lei Jin Wang Qingfei Zhang Yinggan Zhang Wei He Hongfei Zheng Baisheng Sa Qingshui Xie Dong-Liang Peng Baihua Qu | 2020 | Nano Research2020,13,8: | 3 |
| 9 | Deciphering the superior thermoelectric property of posttreatment-free PEDOT:PSS/IL hybrid by X-ray and neutron scattering characterization显示文摘In this work,a polymer and ionic liquid(IL)hybrid with superior thermoelectric performance is prepared via a system design of the chemical composition,molar ratio of the constituent molecules and manipulating the structure in solution and dried films.The solution-casted hybrid film,consisting of poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate)(PEDOT:PSS)and 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium tricyanomethanide(EMIM:TCM),shows the highest power factor of 175μW m^(−1) K^(−2) in the polymer hybrid prepared by a post-treatment-free method.With a set of complementary structure characterization methods,it is found that EMIM:TCM can induce the structure reorganization of PEDOT:PSS in solution from a core-shell model to a rod-like model,during which PEDOT partially separates from PSS that eases the conductive network formation.In addition,the oxidation level of PEDOT:PSS is reduced by adding EMIM:TCM.Based on which,the PEDOT:PSS/IL hybrid shows the best performance in optimizing the conductivity(1163 S cm^(−1))and Seebeck coefficient(38.8μV K^(−1))simultaneously. | Xin Li Ruike Zou Zhen Liu Jitendra Mata Ben Storer Yu Chen Weiheng Qi Zekun Zhou Peng Zhang | 2022 | npj Flexible Electronics2022,6,1: | 2 |
| 10 | A MATLAB toolkit for composite nonlinear feedback control–improving transient response in tracking control显示文摘We present in this article a MATLAB toolkit with a user-friendly graphical interface for composite nonlinear feedback control system design.The toolkit can be utilized to design a fast and smooth tracking controller for a class of linear systems and nonlinear systems with actuator and other nonlinearities as well as with external disturbances.The parameters of the controller can be tuned easily on the user panel or autotuned by the toolkit.The toolkit is capable of displaying both time-domain and frequency-domain responses on its main panel and generating three different types of control laws,namely,the state feedback,the full-order measurement feedback and the reduced-order measurement feedback controllers.The usage and design procedure of the toolkit are illustrated by practical examples on a rotational/translational actuator (RTAC) system and a hard disk drive servo system.The toolkit can be utilized to design servo systems that deal with point-and-shoot fast targeting. | Guoyang CHENG Ben M. | 13 | Genetic Evidence of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus(MERS-Cov) and Widespread Seroprevalence among Camels in Kenya显示文摘We describe the first genome isolation of Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus(MERS-CoV) in Kenya. This fatal zoonotic pathogen was first described in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2012. Epidemiological and molecular evidence revealed zoonotic transmission from camels to humans and between humans. Currently, MERS-CoV is classified by the WHO as having high pandemic potential requiring greater surveillance. Previous studies of MERS-CoV in Kenya mainly focused on site-specific and archived camel and human serum samples for antibodies. We conducted active nationwide cross-sectional surveillance of camels and humans in Kenya, targeting both nasal swabs and plasma samples from 1,163 camels and 486 humans collected from January 2016 to June 2018. A total of 792 camel plasma samples were positive by ELISA. Seroprevalence increased with age, and the highest prevalence was observed in adult camels(82.37%, 95%confidence interval(CI) 79.50–84.91). More female camels were significantly seropositive(74.28%, 95% CI 71.14–77.19)than male camels(P \ 0.001)(53.74%, 95% CI 48.48–58.90). Only 11 camel nasal swabs were positive for MERS-CoV by reverse transcription-quantitative PCR. Phylogenetic analysis of whole genome sequences showed that Kenyan MERSCoV clustered within sub-clade C2, which is associated with the African clade, but did not contain signature deletions of orf4 b in African viruses. None of the human plasma screened contained neutralizing antibodies against MERS-CoV. This study confirms the geographically widespread occurrence of MERS-CoV in Kenyan camels.
