2Mutations in TP53, ZNF750, and RB1 typify ocular sebaceous carcinoma显示文摘Sebaceous carcinoma (SC) of the eyelid is a rare but aggressive malignancy, accounting for 3%—5% of eyelid malignancies in the United States, and up to 35% in Asian populations (Deprez and Uffer, 2009;Xu et al., 2018;Yu et al., 2018). It is frequently mistaken for benign conditions or less aggressive malignancies such as basal cell carcinoma (Muqit et al., 2013), and the effects of delay in diagnosis can be devastating to patients. Aggressive surgical resection is the primary treatment of these tumors and often invoIves orbital exenteration with significant morbidity to patients, and these tumors frequently recur, with local recurrence rate as high as 18%. Importantly, this disease has a high metastatic potential, and there are very limited data guiding systemic treatment options;ultimately 6%—18% of patients diagnosed with SC of the eyelid succumb to metastatic disease (Zurcher et al., 1998;Shields et al., 2004).Yongyang Bao J. 3Physics issues in diffraction limited storage ring design显示文摘Diffraction limited electron storage ring is considered a promising candidate for future light sources,whose main characteristics are higher brilliance,better transverse coherence and better stability.The challenge of diffraction limited storage ring design is how to achieve the ultra low beam emittance with acceptable nonlinear performance.Effective linear and nonlinear parameter optimization methods based on Artificial Intelligence were developed for the storage ring physical design.As an example of application,partial physical design of HALS(Hefei Advanced Light Source),which is a diffraction limited VUV and soft X-ray light source,was introduced.Severe emittance growth due to the Intra Beam Scattering effect,which is the main obstacle to achieve ultra low emittance,was estimated quantitatively and possible cures were discussed.It is inspiring that better performance of diffraction limited storage ring can be achieved in principle with careful parameter optimization.FAN Wei BAI ZhengHe GAO WeiWei FENG GuangYao LI WeiMin WANG Lin HE DuoHui 2012Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2012,55,5:2

8A facile and sensitive method of quantifying glutaminase binding to its ninhibitor CB-839 in tissues显示文摘Many cancer types reprogram their metabolism to become addicted to glutamine.One of the critical enzymes in the utilization of glutamine in these cells is glutaminase.CB-839(telaglenastat)is a drug that targets glutaminase that is currently being evaluated in many clinical trials for efficacy in various cancer types that are known to be driven by glutamine metabolism.Despite its use,there are limited assays available for testing the pharmacodynamic on-target effects of CB-839 on the limited,small-volume patient samples that are obtained in early-phase clinical trials.Thus,we developed an assay based on the cellular thermal shift assay technique using AlphalLlSA technology to show that CB-839 specifically engages glutaminase in colon cancer cell lines in vitro and in minute quantities of mouse xenograft tumors.Notably,we show that this assay detects CB-839 binding to glutaminase in platelets of patients collected while receiving CB-839 on a clinical trial.This assay may be used to study the pharmacodynamic profile of CB-839 in very small tissue samples obtained from patients on a clinical trial and may be useful infuture studies designed to screen other in hibitors of glutaminase.Yicheng Chen Yiqing Zhao David L.Bajor Zhenghe Wang J.Eva Selfridge 2020Journal of Genetics and Genomics2020,47,7:1

11Effect of Culture Parameters on the Growth of Sparassis crispa Mycelium显示文摘The effect of carbon and nitrogen sources, pH, temperature and substrate water content on the growth and vigor of Sparassis crispa mycelium was evaluated. Mycelial growth rates were highest when rice starch served as the carbon source and when peptone, yeast extract or soybean meal were adopted as the nitrogen source. The optimum pH and substrate water content values were 5.25 and 62.5% respectively. 12PD-L1 expression is regulated by ATP-binding of the ERBB3 pseudokinase domain显示文摘How PD-L1 expression is regulated in cancer is poorly understood.Here,we report that the ATP-binding activity of ERBB3 pseudokinase regulates PD-L1 gene expression in colorectal cancers(CRCs).ERBB3 is one of the four members of the EGF receptor family,all with protein tyrosine kinase domains.ERBB3 is a pseudokinase with a high binding affin-ity to ATP.We showed that ERBB3 ATP-binding inactivation mutant reduces tumorigenicity in genetically engineered mouse models and impairs xenograft tumor growth of CRC cell lines.The ERBB3 ATP-binding mutant cells dramatically reduce IFN-g-induced PD-L1 expres-sion.Mechanistically,ERBB3 regulates IFN-g-induced PD-L1 expression through the IRS1-PI3K-PDK1-RSK-CREB signaling axis.CREB is the transcription factor that regulates PD-L1 gene expression in CRC cells.Knockin of a tumor-derived ERBB3 mutation located in the ki-nase domain sensitizes mouse colon cancers to anti-PD1 antibody therapy,suggesting that ERBB3 mutations could be predictive biomarkers for tumors amenable to immune check-point therapy.Yamu Li Zhonghua Liu Yiqing Zhao Jie Yang Tsan Sam Xiao Ronald A.Conlon Zhenghe Wang 2023Genes & Diseases2023,10,4:0

14High-Q collective Mie resonances in monocrystalline silicon nanoantenna arrays for the visible light显示文摘Dielectric optical antennas have emerged as a promising nanophotonic architecture for manipulating the propagation and localization of light.However,the optically induced Mie resonances in an isolated nanoantenna are normally with broad spectra and poor��-factors,limiting their performances in sensing,lasing,and nonlinear optics.Here,we dramatically enhance the��-factors of Mie resonances in silicon(Si)nanoparticles across the optical band by arranging the nanoparticles in a periodic lattice.We select monocrystalline Si with negligible material losses and develop a unique method to fabricate nanoparticle arrays on a quartz substrate.By extinction dispersion measurements and electromagnetic analysis,we can identify three types of collective Mie resonances with��-factors∼500 in the same nanocylinder arrays,including surface lattice resonances,bound states in the continuum,and quasi-guided modes.Our work paves the way for fundamental research in strong light-matter interactions and the design of highly efficient light-emitting metasurfaces.Zhenghe Zhang Pengbo Liu Wanli Lu Ping Bai Bingchang Zhang Zefeng Chen Stefan A.Maier Jaime Gómez Rivas Shaojun Wang Xiaofeng Li 2023Fundamental Research2023,3,5:0
15Support vector regression constraint to remove fault shadows-A case study of an oil field in the pearl river estuary basin,South China Sea显示文摘The main reservoirs in different fields in the YP oil region of the eastern Pearl River Estuary Basin are all fault-locked reservoirs.A large amount of seismic data in this area has fault-influenced distortion imaging zones,which poses a challenge to the tectonic evaluation of the area.Traditional solutions to fault shadows generally use reacquisition of multi-directional seismic data or targeted processing for fault imaging,which involves the acquisition of high cost and long processing cycle.In this paper,we propose to quantitatively depict the shadow zone range of faults using 3D stratigraphic dip attributes,and then combine it with the lateral distribution of marine stratigraphy features in the YP oil region,we introduced a support vector regression algorithm to calculate a high-precision nonlinear tectonic trend surface in the area.Under the constraint of this trend surface,we completed the prediction of distortion area structure of the fault shadow zone.The theoretical model test calculations and the production application of an oil field in the YP oil region show that the method has a great potential for application.Xiaojiang Yang Xiaotao Wen Yahui Wang Zhenghe Yan Kai Hou 2021Earthquake Research Advances2021,1,S01:0
16The Post-exposure Effects of Spinosad and Plant Allelochemicals on Biological Characteristics of Helicoverpa armigera(Lepidoptera: Noctuvidae)显示文摘In order to define the combined effects of spinosad and plant allelochemicals on Helicoverpa armigera(Lepidoptera:Noctuvidae), the research fed them on artificial diets with different doses of spinosad, gossypol, quercetin and tannicacid, and the changes of pupal and imaginal biological characteristics were observed and recorded. The results showed that spinosad at sublethal concentrations decreased pupation ratio and pupal weight, prolonged prepupal and pupal periods, and decreased emergence ratio, fecundity and longevity of adults. Combined with plant allelochemicals, spinosad significantly prolonged pupal period and shorten adult longevity. Other life-cycle parameters such as pupation ratio, pupal weights, emergence ratio, eggs laid per female and hatch ratio did not change significantly.
