1The enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP显示文摘In this paper we present the enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP. eXTP is a space science mission designed to study fundamental physics under extreme conditions of density, gravity and magnetism. The mission aims at determining the equation of state of matter at supra-nuclear density, measuring effects of QED, and understanding the dynamics of matter in strong-field gravity. In addition to investigating fundamental physics, eXTP will be a very powerful observatory for astrophysics that will provide observations of unprecedented quality on a variety of galactic and extragalactic objects. 4Self-attention transfer networks for speech emotion recognition显示文摘Background A crucial element of human-machine interaction,the automatic detection of emotional states from human speech has long been regarded as a challenging task for machine learning models.One vital challenge in speech emotion recognition(SER)is learning robust and discriminative representations from speech.Although machine learning methods have been widely applied in SER research,the inadequate amount of available annotated data has become a bottleneck impeding the extended application of such techniques(e.g.,deep neural networks).To address this issue,we present a deep learning method that combines knowledge transfer and self-attention for SER tasks.Herein,we apply the log-Mel spectrogram with deltas and delta-deltas as inputs.Moreover,given that emotions are time dependent,we apply temporal convolutional neural networks to model the variations in emotions.We further introduce an attention transfer mechanism,which is based on a self-attention algorithm to learn long-term dependencies.The self-attention transfer network(SATN)in our proposed approach takes advantage of attention transfer to learn attention from speech recognition,followed by transferring this knowledge into SER.An evaluation built on Interactive Emotional Dyadic Motion Capture(IEMOCAP)dataset demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed model.Ziping ZHAO Keru Wang Zhongtian BAO Zixing ZHANG Nicholas CUMMINS Shihuang SUN Haishuai WANG Jianhua TAO Björn WSCHULLER 2021Virtual Reality & Intelligent Hardware2021,3,1:3
5High-throughput screening and machine learning for the efficient growth of high-quality single-wall carbon nanotubes显示文摘It has been a great challenge to optimize the growth conditions toward structure-controlled growth of single-wall carbon nanotubes(SWCNTs).Here,a high-throughput method combined with machine learning is reported that efficiently screens the growth conditions for the synthesis of high-quality SWCNTs.Patterned cobalt(Co)nanoparticles were deposited on a numerically marked silicon wafer as catalysts,and parameters of temperature,reduction time and carbon precursor were optimized.The crystallinity of the SWCNTs was characterized by Raman spectroscopy where the featured G/D peak intensity(IG/ID)was extracted automatically and mapped to the growth parameters to build a database.1,280 data were collected to train machine learning models.Random forest regression(RFR)showed high precision in predicting the growth conditions for high-quality SWCNTs,as validated by further chemical vapor deposition(CVD)growth.This method shows great potential in structure-controlled growth of SWCNTs.Zhong-Hai Ji Lili Zhang Dai-Ming Tang Chien-Ming Chen Torbjörn EMNordling Zheng-De Zhang Cui-Lan Ren Bo Da Xin Li Shu-Yu Guo Chang Liu Hui-Ming Cheng 2021Nano Research2021,14,12:3

7Decreasing mercury levels in consumer fish over the three decades of increasing mercury emissions in China显示文摘Fish consumption is the primary dietary route of human exposure to methylmercury.It has been well documented that elevated mercury concentration in fish in North America and Europe is linked to anthropogenic mercury emissions.China is the world’s largest producer,consumer,and emitter of mercury,as well as the world’s largest commercial fish producer and consumer.Although mercury pollution in fish in China is currently receiving much attention worldwide,its status remains largely unknown.Here,we conducted a meta-analysis on total mercury concentrations in marine and freshwater fish samples,covering 35,464 samples collected in China over the past 30 years.It is found that,opposite to the increasing emission and documented mercury contamination events,mercury levels in fish have gradually decreased in China over the past 30 years.The results were in sharp contrast to those found in North America and Europe.The mercury concentrations in fish were significantly anticorrelated with the fish catch and fish aquaculture and were inverse to trophic levels.Overfishing and the short lifecycle of aquaculture fish,both reducing the trophic level and the duration of mercury accumulation,were the most likely causes leading to the decline of mercury concentrations found in fish in China.Hua Zhang Wenxiong Wang Chejen Lin Xinbin Feng Jianbo Shi Guibin Jiang Thorjørn Larssen 2022Eco-Environment & Health2022,1,1:2
