1The effect of beta-elemene on alpha-tubulin polymerization in human hepatoma HepG2 cells显示文摘Objective:To investigate the impact of beta-elemene injection on the growth and alpha-tubule of human hepatocarcinoma HepG2 cells.Methods:Cell proliferation was assessed by MTT assay.Cell cycle distribution was detected by flow cytometry(FCM).The mRNA expression of alpha-tubulin was measured by RT-PCR.Western blot analysis was used to determine protein expression of alpha-tubulin and the polymerization of tubulin.Results:Beta-elemene injection inhibited HepG2 cells proliferation in a dose-and time-dependent manner;FCM analysis indicated beta-elemene injection induced cell cycle arrested at S phase.RT-PCR and westernblot analysis showed that beta-elemene injection down-regulated alpha-tublin at both mRNA and protein levels,presenting a dose-dependent manner.Moreover,beta-elemene injection reduced the polymerization of microtubules in a dose-dependent manner.Conclusions:Beta-elemene injection can inhibit the proliferation of hepatoma HepG2 cells and induce cell apoptosis,the mechanism might be partly related to the down-regulation of alpha-tubulin and inhibition of microtubular polymerization.Jielin Zhang Yuqiu Mao Li Hou Xiaonan Cui 2013Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2013,25,6:17
2Acupuncture preconditioning protects hippocampal neurons from transient ischemia/reperfusion injury显示文摘The present study established a model of brain ischemia in aged rats using four-vessel occlusion.We observed hippocampal CA1 neuronal apoptosis and apoptosis-mediated protease caspase-3 expression following preconditioning of electroacupuncture at Baihui(GV 20).Our results showed that the number of hippocampal CA1 normal neurons was decreased,and degenerated neurons were increased 12 hours to 3 days following cerebral ischemia/reperfusion.The number of hippocampal CA1 apoptotic neurons and caspase-3-positive neurons in rats with cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury was significantly decreased following acupuncture preconditioning.Acupuncture preconditioning protects aged rats against ischemia/reperfusion injury by regulating caspase-3 protein expression.Mingshan Wang Haipeng Zhou Fei Shi Shilong Ma Yanlin Bi Yuqiu Liu Hong Liu Haiou Li 2011Neural Regeneration Research2011,6,15:12

4A new orthogonality relationship for orthotropic thin plate theory and its variational principle显示文摘The thought how dual vectors are constructed in a new orthogonality relationship for theory of elasticity is generalized into orthotropic thin plate bending problems by using the analogy theory between plane elasticity problems and plate bending problems. Dual differential equations are directly obtained by using a mixed variables method. A dual differential matrix to be derived possesses a peculiarity of which principal diagonal sub-matrixes are zero matrixes. Two independently and symmetrically orthogonality sub-relationships are discovered. By using the integral form for elastic bending theory of orthotropic thin plate the orthogonality relationship is demonstrated. By selecting felicitous dual vectors a new orthogonality relationship for theory of elasticity can be generalized into elastic bending theory of orthotropic thin plate. 5Identification of unconditional and conditional QTL for oil, protein and starch content in maize显示文摘Oil, protein and starch are key chemical components of maize kernels. A population of 245 recombinant inbred lines(RILs) derived from a cross between a high-oil inbred line, By804, and a regular inbred line, B73, was used to dissect the genetic interrelationships among oil, starch and protein content at the individual QTL level by unconditional and conditional QTL mapping. Combined phenotypic data over two years with a genetic linkage map constructed using 236 markers, nine, five and eight unconditional QTL were detected for oil, protein and starch content, respectively. Some QTL for oil, protein and starch content were clustered in the same genomic regions and the direction of their effects was consistent with the sign of their correlation. In conditional QTL mapping, 37(29/8) unconditional QTL were not detected or showed reduced effects, four QTL demonstrated similar effects under unconditional and conditional QTL mapping, and 17 additional QTL were identified by conditional QTL mapping. These results imply that there is a strong genetic relationship among oil, protein and starch content in maize kernels. 7Cognitive-behavioural therapy for personal recovery of patients with schizophrenia:A systematic review and meta-analysis显示文摘Background To date, cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) trials have primarily focused on clinical recovery;however, personal recovery is actually the fundamental aspect of the recovery process. The aim of this study was to summarise and synthesise the existing evidence regarding the effectiveness of CBT for personal recovery In patients with schizophrenia. Aim This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of CBT for personal recovery in patients with schizophrenia. Methods A systematic search of the literature in PsycINFO, PubMed, Cochrane (CENTRAL), Embase and Web of Science (SCI) was conducted to identify randomised controlled trials reporting the impact of CBT interventions on personal recovery in patients with schizophrenia. The estimated effect sizes of the main study outcomes were calculated to estimate the magnitude of the treatment effects of CBT on personal recovery. We also evaluated the CBT’s effect size at the end-of-treatment and long-term (follow-up) changes in some aspects of personal recovery. Results Twenty-five studies were included in the analysis. The effect of CBT on personal recovery was 2.27 (95% CI 0.10 to 4.45;I^2=0%;p=0.04) at post-treatment and the long-term effect size was 2.62 (95% CI 0.51 to 4.47;I^2=0%;p=0.02). During the post-treatment period, the pooled effect size of CBT was 0.01 (95% CI -0.12 to 0.15;I^2=33.0%;p>0.05) for quality of life (QoL), 0.643 (95% CI 0.056 to 1.130;I^2=30.8%;p<0.01) for psychological health-related QoL,-1.77 (95% CI -3.29 to -0.25;I^2=40%;p=0.02) for hopelessness and 1.85 (95% CI 0.69 to 3.01;I^2=41%;p<0.01) for self-esteem. We also summarised the effects of CBT on QoL (subscale scores not included in the evaluation of the pooled effect size), self-confidence and connectedness, and all results corresponded to positive effects. However, there was insufficient evidence regarding the long-term effects of CBT on personal recovery. Conclusions CBT is an effective therapy with meaningful clinical effect sizes on personal recovery and some aspects of personal recovery of schizophrenia after treatment. However, the effect is relatively immediate and rapidly decreases as time progresses. 11Water-trapping and drag-reduction effects of fish Ctenopharyngodon idellus scales and their simulations显示文摘In the last decades, surface drag reduction has been re-emphasized because of its practical values in engineering applications,including vehicles, aircrafts, ships, and fuel pipelines. The bionic study of drag reduction has been attracting scholars' attentions. Here, it was determined that the delicate microstructures on the scales of the fish Ctenopharyngodon idellus exhibit remarkable drag-reduction effect. In addition, the underlying drag-reduction mechanism was carefully investigated. First,exceptional morphologies and structures of the scales were observed and measured using a scanning electron microscope and3-dimensional(3D) microscope. Then, based on the acquired data, optimized 3D models were created. Next, the mechanism of the water-trapping effect of these structures was analyzed through numerical simulations and theoretical calculations. It was determined that there are many microcrescent units with certain distributions on its surface. In fact, these crescents are effective in generating the 'water-trapping' effect and forming a fluid-lubrication film, thus reducing the skin friction drag effectively.Contrasting to a smooth surface, the dynamics finite-element analysis indicated that the maximum drag-reduction rate of a bionic surface is 3.014% at 0.66 m/s flow rate. 12Antibiotics-mediated intestinal microbiome perturbation aggravates tacrolimus-induced glucose disorders in mice显示文摘Both immunosuppressants and antibiotics (ABX) are indispensable for transplant patients. However, the former increases the risk of new-onset diabetes, whereas the latter impacts intestinal microbiota (IM). It is still unclear whether and how the interaction between immunosuppressants and ABX alters the IM and thus leads to glucose metabolism disorders. This study examined the alterations of glucose and lipid metabolism and IM in mice exposed to tacrolimus (TAC) with or without ABX. We found that ABX further aggravated TAC-induced glucose tolerance and increased insulin secretion. Combined treatment resulted in exacerbated lipid accumulation in the liver. TAC-altered microbial community was further amplified by ABX administration, as characterized by reductions in phylum Firmicutes, family Lachnospiraceae, and genus Copyococcus. Analyses based on the metagenomic profiles revealed that ABX augmented the effect of TAC on microbial metabolic function mostly related to lipid metabolism. The altered components of gut microbiome and predicted microbial functional profiles showed significant correlation with hepatic lipid accumulation and glucose disorders. In conclusion, ABX aggravated the effect of TAC on the microbiome and its metabolic capacities, which might contribute to hepatic lipid accumulation and glucose disorders. 14Effect of river plume on phytoplankton community structure in Zhujiang River estuary显示文摘To examine the phytoplankton assemblages and the effect of diluted waters on them,a research cruise was conducted from July 19 to August 7,2015 in the Zhujiang(Pearl)River estuary in the northern South China Sea(21°N–23.5°N,111°E–117°E).Samples were collected from 65 stations including one for time-series sampling.A total of 212 phytoplankton taxa were identified from 61 genera belonging to 4 phyla.Among them,122 species identified from 42 genera of Bacillariophyta and 83 species from 15 genera of Pyrrophyta.Chain-forming diatoms dominated the phytoplankton community where Pseudonitzschia delicatissima,Guinardia striata,Thalassionema nitzschioides,and P.pungens comprised about 52%of the total abundance.However,higher cell abundances concentrated on both sides of the estuary,because of low salinity and high nutrients brought by diluted water.In addition,Canonical Correspondence Analysis revealed that salinity and dissolved inorganic nitrogen shaped the species composition in the study area.Furthermore,the Jaccard similarity index showed prevailing high similarity in the distribution of species in low-salinity diluted waters,and the Bray-Curtis similarity depicted distinguished grouping for phytoplankton assemblages along the salinity gradient.However,phytoplankton diel vertical cycles showed maximum abundance occurred at 2:00 am,which was mainly contributed by benthic phytoplankton species Pseudo-nitzschia spp.and T.nitzschioides.Qi ZHONG Bing XUE Md Abu NOMAN Yuqiu WEI Haijiao LIU Hongbin LIU Liping ZHENG Hongmei JING Jun SUN 2021Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2021,39,2:2
15Effects of typhoon Roke and Haitang on phytoplankton community structure in northeastern South China sea显示文摘The influence of typhoon and Kuroshio intrusion process on the natural phytoplankton assemblages in the northeastern South China Sea(neSCS)was examined during a cruise in summer 2017.One hundred ninety-six seawater samples were collected and analyzed in the neSCS.In total,299 species were identified belonging to 82 genera,mostly dominated by Bacillariophyta(159),followed by Dinophyta(132),Cyanophyta(4)and Chrysophyta(4).Among all,Thalassionema nitzschioides,Thalassionema frauenfeldii,Thalassiosira minima,in Bacillariophyta,Prorocentrum lenticulatum,Prorocentrum compressum in Dinophyta,and Trichodesmium thiebautii,in the Cyanophyta were the most dominated species,respectively.Correlation analysis shows compared with other groups Bacillariophyta was mostly influenced by silicate,whereas,Dinophyta and Cyanophyta showed significant correlation with temperature,salinity,phosphate,and nitrate.After the typhoon,the higher abundance of Dinophyta was observed,whereas it was lower in case of Bacillariophyta and Cyanophyta,shows typhoon“Roke“and”Haitang”had a significant influence on the phytoplankton assemblages,which could be manifested by the variations of total phytoplankton abundance in the surface water of neSCS.Overall,our present study provides the latest in-depth information about how the environmental factors influencing the phytoplankton density and diversity in the neSCS during summer.Yingjie Mao Jun Sun Congcong Guo Yuqiu Wei Xingzhou Wang Shuang Yang Chao Wu 2019Ecosystem Health and Sustainability2019,5,1:2
16Mechanical Properties of Carbon Epoxy Prepreg Insert Phenolic Resin Injection Moldings显示文摘This study focuses on the insert-injection molding process. The thermoset composite inserts in this study were carbon fiber/epoxy (CF/Epoxy) prepreg sheets. The injected molded part was glass fiber contained phenolic resin (GF/PF). The CF/Epoxy was placed in the mold cavity prior to injecting GF/PF onto the inserted injection molded CF/Epoxy specimens. The role of adhesion between the inserted part and injected resin on the mechanical properties was evaluated by 3 point bending and impact tests. In addition, the effect of prepreg orientation on the mechanical properties of the prepreg inserted-injection molding system was investigated. It was found that the prepreg with unidirectional orientation significantly improved flexural and impact strength of the inserted injection molding composites, providing better support and resistance to bending and impact loading. 17Simulation of the Interphase of Insert Injection Moldings显示文摘In this work, the generalizing of the finite element method (FEM) of thermoplastic prepreg insert injection molding composites was investigated. The specimens were prepared using glass fiber/polyamidc 6 (GF/PA6) inserted prepreg, and their characteristics were investigated and compared under ANSYS workbench program. The prediction of the bending initial fracture point under analytical tensile testing with interlayer on prepreg insert moldings was focused. It was found that the bending initial fracture point was applied to predict by matching the shear stress. There was obtained from analytical tensile testing and bending analysis.
