| 2 | Biomass of meiobenthic in the Bohai Sea, China显示文摘A grid of 22 stations, giving a broad geographic coverage of the Bohai Sea and the Bohai Strait was selected. Undisturbed sediments were collected from sampling stations during cruises in June 1997, in September/October 1998 and again in April/May 1999. Based on the results of Juario (1975), the average biomass, 0.404 g/(m2a) of meiofauna (including nematode, harpacticoida, bivalve larvae, polycheata and kinorhyncha) in the Bohai Sea is given and accounts for 4.5 percent of the macrofauna in the Bohai Sea. The horizontal distribution of the biomass of meiofauna showed that it was higher at the stations of middle east part of the Bohai Sea and the strait in 1998 and 1999 cruises and it decreased at the stations near to the strait mouth and increased at Station B1 in 1999 cruise. The annual average production in the Bohai Sea is 3.636 g/m2 calculated in term of the formula P = 9B. Compared with the biomass of other sea areas in the world, the biomass of the Bohai Sea is similar but slightly lower. | 3 | Arsenic methylation by an arsenite S-adenosylmethionine methyltransferase from Spirulina platensis显示文摘Arsenic-contaminated water is a serious hazard for human health. Plankton plays a critical role in the fate and toxicity of arsenic in water by accumulation and biotransformation.Spirulina platensis(S. platensis), a typical plankton, is often used as a supplement or feed for pharmacy and aquiculture, and may introduce arsenic into the food chain, resulting in a risk to human health. However, there are few studies about how S. platensis biotransforms arsenic. In this study, we investigated arsenic biotransformation by S. platensis. When exposed to arsenite(As(Ⅲ)), S. platensis accumulated arsenic up to 4.1 mg/kg dry weight.After exposure to As(Ⅲ), arsenate(As(Ⅴ)) was the predominant species making up 64% to86% of the total arsenic. Monomethylarsenate(MMA(Ⅴ)) and dimethylarsenate(DMA(Ⅴ))were also detected. An arsenite S-adenosylmethionine methyltransferase from S. platensis(Sp Ars M) was identified and characterized. Sp Ars M showed low identity with other reported Ars M enzymes. The Escherichia coli AW3110 bearing Spars M gene resulted in As(Ⅲ) methylation and conferring resistance to As(Ⅲ). The in vitro assay showed that Sp Ars M exhibited As(Ⅲ) methylation activity. DMA(Ⅴ) and a small amount of MMA(Ⅴ) were detected in the reaction system within 0.5 hr. A truncated Sp Ars M derivative lacking the last 34 residues still had the ability to methylate As(Ⅲ). The three single mutants of Sp Ars M(C59S, C186 S, and C238S) abolished the capability of As(Ⅲ) methylation, suggesting the three cysteine residues are involved in catalysis. | 5 | Bistratal Au@Bi2S3 nanobones for excellent NIR-triggered/multimodal imaging-guided synergistic therapy for liver cancer显示文摘To fabricate a highly biocompatible nanoplatform enabling synergistic therapy and real-time imaging,novel Au@Bi2S3 core shell nanobones(NBs)(Au@Bi2S3 NBs)with Au nanorods as cores were synthesized.The combination of Au nanorods with Bi2S3 film made the Au@Bi2S3 NBs exhibit ultrahigh photothermal(PT)conversion efficiency,remarkable photoacoustic(PA)imaging and high computed tomography(CT)performance;these Au@Bi2S3 NBs thus are a promising nanotheranostic agent for PT/PA/CT imaging.Subsequently,poly(N-vinylpyrrolidone)-modified Au@Bi2S3 NBs(Au@Bi2S3-PVP NBs)were successfully loaded with the anticancer drug doxorubicin(DOX),and a satisfactory pH sensitive release profile was achieved,thus revealing the great potential of Au@Bi2S3-PVP NBs in chemotherapy as a drug carrier to deliver DOX into cancer cells.Both in vitro and in vivo investigations demonstrated that the Au@Bi2S3-PVP NBs possessed multiple desired features for cancer therapy,including extremely low toxicity,good biocompatibility,high drug loading ability,precise tumor targeting and effective accumulation.Highly efficient ablation of the human liver cancer cell HepG2 was achieved through Au@Bi2S3-PVP NB-mediated photothermal therapy(PTT).As both a contrast enhancement probe and therapeutic agent,Au@Bi2S3-PVP NBs provided outstanding NIR-triggered multi-modal PT/PA/CT imaging-guided PTT and effectively inhibited the growth of HepG2 liver cancer cells via synergistic chemo/PT therapy. | Ruizhuo Ouyang Penghui Cao Pengpeng Jia Hui Wang Tianyu Zong Chenyu Dai Jie Yuan Yuhao Li Dong Sun Ning Guo Yuqing Miao Shuang Zhou | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,2: | 5 |

| 7 | Description of a Marine Nematode Hopperia sinensis sp. nov.(Comesomatidae) from Mangrove Forests of Quanzhou, China, with a Pictorial Key to Hopperia Species显示文摘A new free-living marine nematode species Hopperia sinensis sp. nov. from mangrove forests of Fujian Province, China, is identified and illustrated. Hopperia sinensis sp. nov. is characterized by its cephalic setae 2.4–2.8 μm long or 17%–20% head diameter, and amphids of 2.25–2.5 turns. Lateral differentiation appears with larger, more irregularly distributed dots behind 3–5 transverse rows of dots posterior to amphid. Buccal cavity is consisted of a shallow and weakly sclerotized cup-shaped portion with strongly sclerotized walls of 18–21 μm deep. There are three sclerotized and size-equally pointed teeth at the junction between the two parts. Spicules of 41–45 μm long are slightly curved with broadband velum and central strips at the proximal end. The gubernacula, with apparent lateral guiding pieces, are formed by one central tubular piece that is weakly sclerotized with 11–16 μm long dorso-caudally directed apophyses. There are 13–14 fine tubular precloacal supplements. Conico-cylindrical tail gradually tapers till pointed tail tip. Female is similar to male, but have a longer body and tail. Ovaries are opposed and outstretched, with anterior ovary to the left and posterior ovary to the right of the intestine. | 11 | 调强适形放疗在乳腺癌保乳术后应用的系统评价(英文)显示文摘Objective:The aim of this study was to assess the long-term effect of breast conservation with breast intensitymodulated radiotherapy (IMRT) for early-stage breast cancers.Methods:Pub Med,EMBASE,Cochrane Library,Chinese Biomedical Literature Database were searched to identify relevant original published trails,and the references of eligible studies were manually screened.Randomized controlled trails reported in any language,comparing breast IMRT with conventional radiotherapy (RT) in patients with early-stage breast cancer were eligible for inclusion.Two investigators independently assessed the quality of included trials and extracted data.The RevMan 5.0 software was used for statistical analysis.Results:Four trials involving 1440 patients were included.The results showed that in the IMRT group,the occurrence of acute moist dermatitis,the edema of the mammary gland and the occurrence of hyperpigmentation were lower than those of RT group,the pooled risk ratio value and 95% confidence interval were 0.28 (0.17-0.48),0.03 (0.00-0.21) and 0.06 (0.02-0.15) respectively.The use of IMRT did not correlate with pain and quality of life,but the presence of moist desquamation did significantly correlate with pain and reduced quality of life.Conclusion:The currently available evidence showed that IMRT significantly reduces the occurrence of moist acute dermatitis anywhere in the breast and alleviates the suffering of patients and improves the quality of life of patients.Future large-scale,high-quality,double-blind trials are needed. | Xiupeng Ye Ling Su Xiaohu Wang Kehu Yang inhui Tian Qiuning Zhang Qiang Wang Xiaojun Li Yuqing Kang Liyun Guo Ruifeng Liu Shifang Feng | 2010 | The Chinese-German Journal of Clinical Oncology2010,9,12: | 2 |

| 14 | Multimarker Detection of MAGE-1,MAGE-3 and AFP mRNAs by a Real-time Quantitative PCR Assay:a Possible Predictor of Hematogenous Micrometastasis of Hepatocellular Carcinoma显示文摘OBJECTIVE To explore the relationship between multimarker detection of MAGE-1,MAGE-3 and AFP mRNAs in the peripheral blood of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma and micrometastasis using a realtime quantitative-PCR(real-time Q-PCR)assay. METHODS Peripheral blood samples were obtained from control subjects and 86 patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).Real-time Q-PCR was used to detect MAGE-1,MAGE-3, and AFP mRNAs in the blood cells. RESULTS In 86 tumor specimens,the positivity for MAGE-1, MAGE-3,and AFP genes was respectively 34.9%(30/86),60.5% (52/86)and 69.8%(60/86).All specimens expressed at least one marker.MAGE-1,MAGE-3,and AFP transcripts were detected respectively in 12(14.0%),18(20.1%)and 29(33.7%)of the 86 blood specimens from hepatocellular carcinoma patients,while 45 specimens(52.3%)were positive for at least one marker.In addition,MAGE-1,MAGE-3 and AFP gene transcripts were not detected in any peripheral blood specimens from 25 chronic liver disease patients and 28 normal healthy volunteers.The positive rate correlated with the TNM clinical stages,extrahepatic metastasis and portal vein carcinothrombosis(P<0.05).No correlation was found between tumor size,tumor number, differentiation,serum a-fetoprotein(AFP)and the positive rate. | 16 | Effectiveness and safety of Pingxiao capsule(平消胶囊)as adjuvant therapy in treatment of breast cancer:a systematic review and Meta-analysis显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To systematically review the effectiveness and safety of Pingxiao capsule(平消胶囊)adjuvant chemotherapy in the treatment of breast cancer.METHODS:A total of 8 databases including the Cochrane Library,PubMed,EMBASE,Engineering Index,Chinese Biomedical Literature Database,Wanfang database,China National Knowledge Infrastructure Database,and China Science and Technology Journal Database were searched for the Randomized Controlled Trials(RCTs)of Pingxiao capsule combined with chemotherapy in the treatment of breast cancer published before June 2022.Two researchers independently screened the literature,extracted data,and evaluated the risk of bias.R language was used for estimating risks of bias of included studies,data analysis,and plotting.RESULTS:A total of 15 RCTs involving 1272 patients were included in this study.Meta-analysis results indicated that compared with chemotherapy alone,Pingxiao capsule combined with chemotherapy could significantly improve breast cancer patients'objective response rate of breast cancer patients[rate ratio(RR)=1.35,95%confidence interval(CI)(1.12,1.63),P=0.0017],the disease control rate[RR=1.16,95%CI(1.08,1.25),P<0.0001],the quality of life[RR=1.42,95%CI(1.16,1.74),P=0.007],and the level of the immune cells[CD3+:standardized mean difference(SMD)=1.42,95%CI(0.76,2.09),P<0.001;CD4+:SMD=1.18,95%CI(0.70,1.66),P<0.001].In addition,Pingxiao capsule combined with chemotherapy can also significantly reduce CD8+level(P<0.0001)and reduce the symptoms of decreased white blood cell count[SMD=0.62,95%CI(0.39,0.85),P<0.0001],and the occurrence of adverse reactions such as gastrointestinal adverse reactions and limb pain(P<0.05).CONCLUSIONS:Pingxiao capsule can significantly improve the efficacy of chemotherapy,the quality of life and immune function of patients,and reduce the clinical side effects caused by chemotherapy.However,highquality randomized clinical trials with large samples are required for further verification of these results. | YANG Yuqing CHEN Yuhuan LI Chunxiao LING Xiao WANG Panpan GUO Jing ZHANG Yingying | 2023 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2023,43,5: | 1 |

| 18 | Abundance and distribution of meiofauna in the Chukchi Sea显示文摘The metazoan meiofauna in the Chukchi Sea were collected from seven shallow water stations(depths ranging 46 to 52 m) and five deep sea stations(depths ranging between 393 and 2 300 m) during the 4th Chinese National Arctic Research Expedition in 2010. The results showed that abundance of meiofauna was higher in shallow water sediments(average of 2 445 ind./(10 cm2)) than in deep sea sediments(407.06 ind./(10 cm2)). A UNIANOVA test for difference between the two different regions was highly significant(F=101.15, p<0.01). Nematodes were numerically dominant, representing(96.6±4.6)% of the total meiofaunal abundance at the shallow water stations and(98.90±1.42)% at deep sea stations. The number of higher taxonomic groups and abundance of meiofauna were higher at Stas CC1, CC4, and R06 near the Bering Strait and the continent, than at the rest of the shallow water and deep sea stations. The primary factors causing the differences were concentrations of nutrients P and Si of bottom seawater(R=0.831, p<0.003), followed by depth(R=-0.655, p<0.05) and sand fractions of sediments(R=0.632, p <0.05). The numbers of meiofauna on the 65 μm and 32 μm sieves were significantly higher than those on the rest of the screens. Differences in numbers of meiofauna retained on screens with different mesh openings were highly significant among all sampling stations(F=31.60, p<0.01). The highest numbers of individuals on screens with 32 μm mesh openings were found at deep sea stations.
