1Diagnostic value of glypican-3 in serum and liver for primary hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘AIM:To evaluate the diagnostic value of glypican-3(GPC3) in serum and liver for primary hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).METHODS:Serum levels of GPC3 and α-fetoprotein(AFP) were measured in 75 patients with primary HCC and 32 patients with liver cirrhosis.Expression of GPC3 and AFP in 58 HCC and 12 cirrhotic specimens was detected with immunohistochemical staining.RESULTS:When the cut-off value of serum GPC3 was set at 300 ng/L,its sensitivity and specificity for HCC were 47.0% and 93.5%,respectively.Among the 14 patients with HCC at stage according to the Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer staging system,the serum GPC3 level was higher than 300 ng/L in 50%(7/14) patients,the serum AFP level was not ≥ 400 μg/L in any patient.Combined serum AFP and GPC3 significantly increased the sensitivity to the diagnosis of HCC.The GPC3 expression was detected in cytoplasm of HCC cells but not in hepatocytes and bile ducts of benign tumors.Among the 58 HCC patients,the GPC3 was expressed in 100%(28/28) patients with their serum AFP level ≥ 400 μg/L,and in 90%(27/30) patients with their AFP level < 400 μg/L,respectively.The GPC3 was weakly or negatively expressed in all paracarcinomatous and cirrhotic tissue samples.AFP positive HCC cells were only found in 1 out of the 58 HCC patients.CONCLUSION:GPC3 protein is a sensitive and specific serum marker for diagnosis of early HCC.Its expression in liver tissues can be used to discriminate tumor cells from benign hepatic cells.Hui Liu Li-Jie Zhang Peng Li Yun Zhai Yu-Fen Tan Ning Li Hui-Guo Ding Chun-Feng Qu 2010World Journal of Gastroenterology2010,16,35:57
2Hydrogen Sulfide Promotes Root Organogenesis in Ipomoea batatas, Salix matsudana and Glycine max显示文摘In this report, we demonstrate that sodium hydrosulfide (NaHS), a hydrogen sulfide (H2S) donor, promoted adventitious root formation mediated by auxin and nitric oxide (NO). Application of the H2S donor to seedling cuttings of sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas L.) promoted the number and length of adventitious roots in a dose-dependent manner. It was also verified that H2S or HS- rather than other sulfur-containing components derived from NaHS could be attributed to the stimulation of adventitious root formation. A rapid increase in endogenous H2S, indole acetic acid (IAA) and NO were sequentially observed in shoot tips of sweet potato seedlings treated with HaHS. Further investigation showed that H2S-mediated root formation was alleviated by N-1-naphthylphthalamic acid (NPA), an IAA transport inhibitor, and 2-(4-carboxyphenyl)- 4,4,5,5-tetramethylimidazoline-1-oxyl-3-oxide (cPTIO), an NO scavenger. Similar phenomena in H2S donor-dependent root organogenesis were observed in both excised willow (Salix matsudana var. tortuosa Vilm) shoots and soybean (Glycine max L.) seedlings. 3Relationship between Cognition Function and Hippocampus Structure after Long-term Microwave Exposure显示文摘Objective To analyze the effects of long-term microwave exposure on hippocampal structure and function in the rat.Methods Experiments were performed on 184 male Wistar rats(three exposure groups and a sham group).Microwaves were applied daily for 6 min over 1 month at average power densities of 2.5,5,and 10 mW/cm2.Learning and memory abilities were assessed by Morris water maze.High performance liquid chromatography was used to detect neurotransmitter concentrations in the hippocampus.Hippocampal structures were observed by histopathological analysis.Results Following long-term microwave exposure there was a significant decrease in learning and memory activity in the 7 d,14 d,and 1 m in all three microwave exposure groups.Neurotransmitter concentrations of four amino acids(glutamate,aspartic acid,glycine,and gamma-aminobutyric acid) in hippocampus were increased in the 2.5 and 5 mW/cm2 groups and decreased in the 10 mW/cm2 group.There was evidence of neuronal degeneration and enlarged perivascular spaces in the hippocampus in the microwave exposure groups.Further,mitochondria became swollen and cristae were disordered.The rough endoplasmic reticulum exhibited sacculated distension and there was a decrease in the quantity of synaptic vesicles.Conclusion These data suggest that the hippocampus can be injured by long-term microwave exposure,which might result in impairment of cognitive function due to neurotransmitter disruption.ZHAO Li PENG Rui Yun WANG Shui Ming WANG Li Feng GAO Ya Bing DONG Ji LI Xiang SU Zhen Tao 2012Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2012,25,2:27

6A Model of Electro-thermal Hybrid Energy Storage System for Autonomous Control Capability Enhancement of Multi-energy Microgrid显示文摘In view of the problem of low self-service capability of the microgrid due to the high operating cost and low capacity of the traditional battery energy storage system.In this paper,an electrothermal hybrid energy storage model based on electricity,hydrogen and thermal energy conversion and storage is introduced,and a microgrid autonomous operational strategy is proposed.First,the addition of the power to hydrogen transfer equipment in the traditional combined heat and power(TCHP)system without battery energy storage is studied,and a micro gas turbine,electric to hydrogen transfer equipment and electric boiler based electrothermal energy storage system(ETSS)model is established.Aiming at the lowest comprehen-sive operating cost of multiple energy sources in a microgrid and maximizing the consumption of curtailed wind,the multi-objective scheduling model of an electrothermal hybrid energy storage system is established,then the multi-energy autonomous operational strategy of a microgrid is proposed.Lastly,the simulation of a multi-energy microgrid in Northeast China is taken as an example.The results of the simulation showed that compared with a combined heat and power microgrid system considering conventiona battery energy storage,a multi-energy microgrid system using electrothermal hybrid energy storage has better flexibility and economy,and can improve wind power accommodation.Yun Teng Peng Sun Qian Hui Yan Li Zhe Chen 2019CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems2019,5,4:20

9Detection of hepatitis C virus NS5 protein and genome in Chinese carcinoma of the extrahepatic bile duct and its significance显示文摘AIM To investigate the hepatitis C virus(HCV)infection in the tissues of carcinoma ofextrahepatic bile duct and study theircorrelation.METHODS HCV NS5 protein and HCV RNA weredetected by labeled streptavidin biotin(LSAB)method and in situ reverse transcriptionpolymerase chain reaction(IS-RT-PCR)insections of 51 cases of carcinoma ofextrahepatic bile duct and 34 cases of controlgroup(without malignant biliary disease).RESULTS In 51 cases of carcinoma ofextrahepatic bile duct,HCV NS5 protein wasdetected in 14(27.5%),which was clearlystained in the cytoplasm of cancer cell but not inthe nucleus or cell membrane.HCV RNA wasdetected in 18(35.4%),which was located inthe nucleus of cancer cell in 12 cases and in thecytoplasm in 6 cases.HCV NS5 protein and RNAcoexistence was found in 2 cases.In 34 cases ofcontrol group,HCV RNA was detected in 2(5.9%).HCV NS5 protein and RNA positive cellswere found either scattered or in clusters.CONCLUSION The prevalence of hepatitis C viral infection in the tissues of carcinoma ofextrahepatic bile duct was significantly higherthan in control group(X^2=9.808,P=0.002).The findings suggest a correlation between HCVinfection and carcinoma of extrahepatic bileduct,which is different from the traditionalviewpoint.HCV infection might be involved inthe development of carcinoma of extrahepaticbile duct.Ming Yi Chen Zhi Qiang Huang Le Zhen Chen Ya Bing Gao Rui Yun Peng De Wen Wang 2000World Journal of Gastroenterology2000,6,6:19
10Infection with novel coronavirus(SARS-CoV-2)causes pneumonia in Rhesus macaques显示文摘The 2019 novel coronavirus(SARS-CoV-2)outbreak is a major challenge for public health.SARS-CoV-2 infection in human has a broad clinical spectrum ranging from mild to severe cases,with a mortality rate of^6.4%worldwide(based on World Health Organization daily situation report).However,the dynamics of viral infection,replication and shedding are poorly understood.Here,we show that Rhesus macaques are susceptible to the infection by SARS-CoV-2.After intratracheal inoculation,the first peak of viral RNA was observed in oropharyngeal swabs one day post infection(1 d.p.i.),mainly from the input of the inoculation,while the second peak occurred at 5 d.p.i.,which reflected on-site replication in the respiratory tract.Histopathological observation shows that SARS-CoV-2 infection can cause interstitial pneumonia in animals,characterized by hyperemia and edema,and infiltration of monocytes and lymphocytes in alveoli.We also identified SARS-CoV-2 RNA in respiratory tract tissues,including trachea,bronchus and lung;and viruses were also re-isolated from oropharyngeal swabs,bronchus and lung,respectively.Furthermore,we demonstrated that neutralizing antibodies generated from the primary infection could protect the Rhesus macaques from a second-round challenge by SARS-CoV-2.The non-human primate model that we established here provides a valuable platform to study SARS-CoV-2 pathogenesis and to evaluate candidate vaccines and therapeutics.Chao Shan Yan-Feng Yao Xing-Lou Yang Yi-Wu Zhou Ge Gao Yun Peng Lian Yang Xue Hu Jin Xiong Ren-Di Jiang Hua-Jun Zhang Xiao-Xiao Gao Cheng Peng Juan Min Ying Chen Hao-Rui Si Jia Wu Peng Zhou Yan-Yi Wang Hong-Ping Wei Wei Pang Zheng-Fei Hu Long-Bao Lv Yong-Tang Zheng Zheng-Li Shi Zhi-Ming Yuan 2020Cell Research2020,30,8:19
11Effect of Marine Collagen Peptides on Markers of Metabolic Nuclear Receptors in Type 2 Diabetic Patients with/without Hypertension显示文摘Objective To explore Effects of marine collagen peptides (MCPs) on markers of metablic nuclear receptors, i.e peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPARs), liver X receptor (LXRs) and farnesoid X receptor (FXRs) in type 2 diabetic patients with/without hypertension. Method Study population consisted of 200 type 2 diabetic patients with/without hypertension and 50 healthy subjects, all of whom were randomly assigned to MCPs-treated diabetics (n=50), placebo-treated diabetics (n=50), MCPs-treated diabetics with hypertension (n=50), placebo-treated diabetics with hypertension (n=50), and healthy controls (n=50). MCPs or placebo (water-soluble starch) were given daily before breakfast and bedtime over three months. Levels of free fatty acid, cytochrome P450, leptin, resistin, adiponectin, bradykinin, NO, and Prostacyclin were determined before intervention, and 1.5 months, and 3 months after intervention. Hypoglycemia and the endpoint events during the study were recorded and compared among the study groups. Result At the end of the study period, MCPs-treated patients showed marked improvement compared with patients receiving placebo. The protection exerted by MCPs seemed more profound in diabetics than in diabetics with hypertension. In particular, after MCPs intervention, levels of free fatty acid, hs-CRP, resistin, Prostacyclin decreased significantly in diabetics and tended to decrease in diabetic and hypertensive patients whereas levels of cytochrome P450, leptin, NO tended to decrease in diabetics with/without hypertension. Meanwhile, levels of adiponectin and bradykinin rose markedly in diabetics following MCPs administration. Conclusion MCPs could offer protection against diabetes and hypertension by affecting levels of molecules involved in diabetic and hypertensive pathogenesis. Regulation on metabolic nuclear receptors by MCPs may be the possible underlying mechanism for its observed effects in the study. 13Wheel/rail dynamic interaction due to excitation of rail corrugation in high-speed railway显示文摘Characteristics of wheel-rail dynamic interaction due to the rail corrugation in a high-speed railway are analyzed based on the theory of vehicle-track coupled dynamics in this paper.Influences of the corrugation wavelength and depth on the wheel-rail dynamic performance are investigated.The results show that,under the excitation of a measured rail corrugation,the wheel-rail dynamic interaction of high-speed railway is enhanced obviously,and the high-frequency dynamic force between wheel and rail is generated,which has an obvious impact on the vibrations of the wheelset and rail,and little effect on the vibration of the frame and carbody.If the corrugation wavelength is shorter than the sensitive wavelength,the wheel-rail vertical force will increase with the growth of the corrugation wavelength,otherwise,it will decrease.However,the wheel-rail vertical force keeps increasing with the growth of corrugation depth.Furthermore,if the corrugation wavelength is shorter than the sensitive wavelength,the wheel-rail vertical force will increase with the decrease of the running speed,otherwise,it will decrease.It is also found that the critical wavelength of corrugation increases with the growth of the corrugation depth and the running speed,and the critical depth of corrugation is nonlinearly related to the sensitive wavelength.WANG Kai Yun LIU Peng Fei ZHAI Wan Ming HUANG Chao CHEN Zai Gang GAO JianMin 2015Science China(Technological Sciences)2015,58,2:17
14Microwave Exposure Impairs Synaptic Plasticity in the Rat Hippocampus and PC12 Cells through Over-activation of the NMDA Receptor Signaling Pathway显示文摘Objective The aim of this study is to investigate whether microwave exposure would affect the N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor(NMDAR) signaling pathway to establish whether this plays a role in synaptic plasticity impairment. Methods 48 male Wistar rats were exposed to 30 m W/cm2 microwave for 10 min every other day for three times. Hippocampal structure was observed through H&E staining and transmission electron microscope. PC12 cells were exposed to 30 m W/cm2 microwave for 5 min and the synapse morphology was visualized with scanning electron microscope and atomic force microscope. The release of amino acid neurotransmitters and calcium influx were detected. The expressions of several key NMDAR signaling molecules were evaluated. Results Microwave exposure caused injury in rat hippocampal structure and PC12 cells, especially the structure and quantity of synapses. The ratio of glutamic acid and gamma-aminobutyric acid neurotransmitters was increased and the intracellular calcium level was elevated in PC12 cells. A significant change in NMDAR subunits(NR1, NR2 A, and NR2B) and related signaling molecules(Ca2+/calmodulin-dependent kinase II gamma and phosphorylated c AMP-response element binding protein) were examined. Conclusion 30 m W/cm2 microwave exposure resulted in alterations of synaptic structure, amino acid neurotransmitter release and calcium influx. 15Treatment and outcomes of 1041 pediatric patients with neuroblastoma who received multidisciplinary care in China显示文摘Importance:Neuroblastoma is the most common extracranial malignant solid tumor in children.Multidisciplinary care is critical to improving the survival of pediatric patients with neuroblastoma.Objective:To systematically summarize the clinical characteristics of children with neuroblastoma and evaluate their prognosis with multidisciplinary care provided in a single center.Methods:This retrospective study analyzed the clinical data of 1041 patients with neuroblastoma who were diagnosed,treated,and followed-up in the Hematology-Oncology Center of Beijing Children’s Hospital from 2007 to 2019.Results:The median age at diagnosis was 34 months;80.8%of the patients were younger than 5 years of age.Notably,243 patients(23.3%)were classified as low-risk,249 patients(23.9%)were classified as intermediate-risk,and 549(52.7%)were classified as high-risk.Furthermore,956 patients underwent surgical resections;986(94.7%)patients received chemotherapy;and 176 patients with high-risk neuroblastoma received hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.The 5-year event-free survival(EFS)rate was 91.3%and 5-year overall survival(OS)rate was 97.5%in low-risk group;in the intermediate-risk group,these rates were 85.1%and 96.7%,respectively,while they were 37.7%and 48.9%in the high-risk group(P<0.001 for both).The 5-year EFS and OS rates were significantly higher in patients diagnosed between 2015 and 2019 than in patients diagnosed between 2007 and 2014(P<0.001).In total,278 patients(26.7%)exhibited tumor relapse or progression;the median interval until relapse or progression was 14 months.Of the 233 patients who died,83%died of relapse or progression of neuroblastoma and 4.3%died of therapy-related complications.Interpretation:The 5-year OS rate was low in high-risk patients,compared with low-and intermediate-risk patients.Multidisciplinary care is critical for improvement of survival in pediatric patients with neuroblastoma.Additional treatment strategies should be sought to improve the prognosis of patients with high-risk neuroblastoma.Yan Su Hong Qin Chenghao Chen Shengcai Wang Shihan Zhang Dawei Zhang Mei Jin Yun Peng Lejian He Xiaoman Wang Suyun Qian Maoquan Qin Ming Ge Fuquan Zhang Qi Zeng Huanmin Wang Xiaoli Ma Xin Ni 2020Pediatric Investigation2020,4,3:16
16Selective Ferroptosis Inhibitor Liproxstatin-1 Attenuates Neurological Deficits and Neuroinflammation After Subarachnoid Hemorrhage显示文摘Ferroptosis is a form of iron-dependent regulated cell death.Evidence of its existence and the effects of its inhibitors on subarachnoid hemorrhage(SAH)is still lacking.In the present study,we found that liproxstatin-1 protected HT22 cells against hemin-induced injury by protecting mitochondrial functions and ameliorating lipid peroxidation.In in vivo experiments,we demonstrated the presence of characteristic shrunken mitochondria in ipsilateral cortical neurons after SAH.Moreover,liproxstatin-1 attenuated the neurological deficits and brain edema,reduced neuronal cell death,and restored the redox equilibrium after SAH.The inhibition of ferroptosis by liproxstatin-1 was associated with the preservation of glutathione peroxidase 4 and the downregulation of acylCoA synthetase long-chain family member 4 as well as cyclooxygenase 2.In addition,liproxstatin-1 decreased the activation of microglia and the release of IL-6,IL-1 b,and TNF-a.These data enhance our understanding of cell death after SAH and shed light on future preclinical studies.Yang Cao Yin Li Chao He Feng Yan Jian-Ru Li Hang-Zhe Xu Jian-Feng Zhuang Hang Zhou Yu-Cong Peng Xiong-Jie Fu Xiao-Yang Lu Yuan Yao Yu-Yu Wei Yun Tong Yi-Fu Zhou Lin Wang 2021Neuroscience Bulletin2021,37,4:16

19Patterns of DNA cytosine methylation between haploids and corresponding diploids in rice显示文摘Eighteen pairs of diploid-haploid twin-seedlings were identified and screened out fromspecial rice SARII-628 population. Five pairs of themwere selected and randomly designated as A, B, C, Dand E. Simple sequence repeats (SSR) analysisshowed that there was no difference among 310 siteswhich indicated that there was no base mutation onDNA primary structure. DNA methylation plays animportant role in gene expression regulation duringgrowth and development stages in eukaryotes. Amodified AFLP technique (methylation-sensitiveAFLP, MSAP) was employed to detect the DNA me-thylation patterns in the 5′-CCGG sites of the fivepairs of twin-seedlings. Although no methylationmutation was detected among the five diploids,forty-three methylation mutation sites were foundfrom the corresponding haploids. The MSAP ratios,which were the ratios of MSAP sites to the total am-plified sites, in five haploids were 18.79%, 19.35%,18.49%, 18.45% and 18.75%, respectively. And cor-responding full methylation levels (5′-CmCGG indouble strands) of those haploids were 10.58%,11.3%, 10.11%, 10.09% and 10.34%, respectively.Both MSAP and full methylation levels in the fivehaploids were higher than that of their correspondingdiploids, which suggested that hypermethylation oc-curred in some 5′-CCGG sites. Five types of MASPpatterns among the five pairs of twin-seedlings weredetected as follows: (1) no changes, methylation lev-els were the same in both haploids and diploids; (2) demethylation, diploid was methylated but no me-thylation in the same site in haploid; (3) hypermethy-lation, the methylation level in haploid was higher than those in diploid; (4) hypomethylation, methyla-tion in haploid was lower than those in diploid; (5) undecided pattern, change trend of methylation lev-els in haploids was not decided. The bands of 18 sites were reclaimed, then sequenced and searched on website to determine the sites of those sequences on rice chromosomes. The result showed that the methylation mutation involved the whole rice genome and 12 pairs of chromosomes. The mutation was site-related and there were different mutation sites for different haploids. 20Performance analysis and comparison of PoW,PoS and DAG based blockchains显示文摘In the blockchain,the consensus mechanism plays a key role in maintaining the security and legitimation of contents recorded in the blocks.Various blockchain consensus mechanisms have been proposed.However,there is no technical analysis and comparison as a guideline to determine which type of consensus mechanism should be adopted in a specific scenario/application.To this end,this work investigates three mainstream consensus mechanisms in the blockchain,namely,Proof of Work(PoW),Proof of Stake(PoS),and Direct Acyclic Graph(DAG),and identifies their performances in terms of the average time to generate a new block,the confirmation delay,the Transaction Per Second(TPS)and the confirmation failure probability.The results show that the consensus process is affected by both network resource(computation power/coin age,buffer size)and network load conditions.In addition,it shows that PoW and PoS are more sensitive to the change of network resource while DAG is more sensitive to network load conditions.Bin Cao Zhenghui Zhang Daquan Feng Shengli Zhang Lei Zhang Mugen Peng Yun Li 2020Digital Communications and Networks2020,6,4:15
