| 3 | Chemically bonded multi-nanolayer inorganic aerogel with a record-low thermal conductivity in a vacuum显示文摘Inorganic aerogels have exhibited many superior characteristics with extensive applications,but are still plagued by a nearly century-old tradeoff between their mechanical and thermal properties.When reducing thermal conductivity by ultralow density,inorganic aerogels generally suffer from large fragility due to their brittle nature or weak joint crosslinking,while enhancing the mechanical robustness by material design and structural engineering,they easily sacrifice thermal insulation and stability.Here,we report a chemically bonded multi-nanolayer design and synthesis of a graphene/amorphous boron nitride aerogel to address this typical tradeoff to further enhance mechanical and thermal properties.Attributed to the chemically bonded interface and coupled toughening effect,our aerogels display a low density of 0.8 mg cm-3 with ultrahigh flexibility(elastic compressive strain up to 99%and bending strain up to 90%),and exceptional thermostability(strength degradation<3%after sharp thermal shocks),as well as the lowest thermal conductivities in a vacuum(only 1.57 mW m-1 K-1 at room temperature and 10.39 mW m-1 K-1 at500℃)among solid materials to date.This unique combination of mechanical and thermal properties offers an attractive material system for thermal superinsulation at extreme conditions. | Hongxuan Yu Menglin Li Yuanpeng Deng Shubin Fu Jingran Guo Han Zhao Jianing Zhang Shixuan Dang Pengyu Zhang Jian Zhou Dizhou Liu Duola Wang Chuanwei Zhang Menglong Hao Xiang Xu | 2023 | National Science Review2023,10,10: | 0 |
| 4 | Near-infrared spectroscopy-based quantification of substrate and aqueous products in wastewater anaerobic fermentation processes显示文摘In this study, a Fourier transform near-infrared (FT-NIR) technique was used for process monitoring of anaerobic fermentation. Orthogonal signal correction (OSC) method was used as NIR spectral pre-processing options. Calibration models were established and the validation of the method was per-formed with the sucrose, ethanol and volatile fatty acids (VFAs) contents determined by the anthrone and gas chromatography methods, respectively. Spectral range and the number of internal latent variables were optimized for the best correlation coefficient. Test set validation of sucrose resulted in excellent measurement of prediction performance and the correlation coefficient of determination is 0.930. Similar prediction statistics for individual VFA and total VFA contents were obtained. | 5 | Causes of a Heavy Snowfall Process in Eastern Yunnan in 2022显示文摘Based on NCEP/NCAR reanalysis data, Micaps data and ground observation data, the physical characteristics of a heavy snowfall process in eastern Yunnan from January 31 to February 3, 2022 were analyzed. The results show that the circulation background of the heavy snowfall process was 'north-ridge and south-trough' type, and the cold air accumulated in the deep East Asian transverse trough. The cold advection behind the trough moved southwards into eastern Yunnan under the movement of the transverse trough. The establishment of upper and lower air jet provided abundant water vapor, and the snowfall area coincided with the strong water vapor convergence area. The strong cold center near the ground was maintained, and the cold air moved southwards. As a result, the cold pad was lasting and deep, and the ground temperature was 0 ℃ or below, which was conducive to snow accumulation on the ground. Seen from the spatial distribution of pseudo-equivalent potential temperature, the low layer always had certain warm and wet conditions during the heavy snowfall, which was conducive to the establishment of unstable energy. The snowfall occurred near the θ se steep area and the warm and wet unstable area. The vertical distribution of temperature had a good indication of precipitation form. | 6 | Haploidentical transplantation has a superior graft-versus-leukemia effect than HLA-matched sibling transplantation for Ph- high-risk B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia显示文摘Background: Compared with human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-matched sibling donor (MSD) transplantation, it remains unclear whether haploidentical donor (HID) transplantation has a superior graft-versus-leukemia (GVL) effect for Philadelphia-negative (Ph-) high-risk B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL). This study aimed to compare the GVL effect between HID and MSD transplantation for Ph- high-risk B-ALL.Methods: This study population came from two prospective multicenter trials (NCT01883180, NCT02673008). Immunosuppressant withdrawal and prophylactic or pre-emptive donor lymphocyte infusion (DLI) were administered in patients without active graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) to prevent relapse. All patients with measurable residual disease (MRD) positivity posttransplantation (post-MRD+) or non-remission (NR) pre-transplantation received prophylactic/pre-emptive interventions. The primary endpoint was the incidence of post-MRD+.Results: A total of 335 patients with Ph- high-risk B-ALL were enrolled, including 145 and 190, respectively, in the HID and MSD groups. The 3-year cumulative incidence of post-MRD+ was 27.2% (95% confidence interval [CI]: 20.2%-34.7%) and 42.6% (35.5%-49.6%) in the HID and MSD groups(P = 0.003), respectively. A total of 156 patients received DLI, including 60 (41.4%) and 96 (50.5%), respectively, in the HID and MSD groups (P= 0.096). The 3-year cumulative incidence of relapse was 18.6% (95% CI: 12.7%-25.4%) and 25.9% (19.9%-32.3%;P = 0.116) in the two groups, respectively. | 7 | The FAST all sky HI survey(FASHI):The first release of catalog显示文摘The FAST All Sky HI survey(FASHI)was designed to cover the entire sky observable by the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope(FAST),spanning approximately 22000 square degrees of declination between-14°and+66°,and in the frequency range of 1050-1450 MHz,with the expectation of eventually detecting more than 100000 HI sources.Between August 2020 and June 2023,FASHI had covered more than 7600 square degrees,which is approximately 35%of the total sky observable by FAST.It has a median detection sensitivity of around 0.76 m Jy beam-1and a spectral line velocity resolution of~6.4 km s-1at a frequency of~1.4 GHz.As of now,a total of 41741 extragalactic HI sources have been detected in the frequency range 1305.5-1419.5 MHz,corresponding to a redshift limit of z■0.09.By cross-matching FASHI sources with the Siena Galaxy Atlas(SGA)and the Sloan Digital Sky Survey(SDSS)catalogs,we found that 16972(40.7%)sources have spectroscopic redshifts and 10975(26.3%)sources have only photometric redshifts.Most of the remaining 13794(33.0%)HI sources are located in the direction of the Galactic plane,making their optical counterparts difficult to identify due to high extinction or high contamination of Galactic stellar sources.Based on current survey results,the FASHI survey is an unprecedented blind extragalactic H I survey.It has higher spectral and spatial resolution and broader coverage than the Arecibo Legacy Fast ALFA Survey(ALFALFA).When completed,FASHI will provide the largest extragalactic HI catalog and an objective view of HI content and large-scale structure in the local universe. | Chuan-Peng Zhang Ming Zhu Peng Jiang Cheng Cheng Jing Wang Jie Wang Jin-Long Xu Xiao-Lan Liu Nai-Ping Yu Lei Qian Haiyang Yu Mei Ai Yingjie Jing Chen Xu Ziming Liu Xin Guan Chun Sun Qingliang Yang Menglin Huang Qiaoli Hao FAST Collaboration | 2024 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2024,67,1: | 0 |
| 8 | Self-assembled nanochaperones enable the disaggregation of amyloid insulin fibrils显示文摘The deposition of highly ordered amyloid fibrils is recognized as a hallmark of amyloidosis diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease.Disaggregating the amyloid fibrils is considered as one of the effective strategies for the control and treatment of amyloidosis diseases.In this article,by simulating the function of natural molecular chaperones,co-assembled block copolymer micelles with coordination groups of nitrilotriacetic acid(NTA)and hydrophobic microdomains of poly(Nisopropylacrylamide)(PNIPAM)on the surface were used as nanochaperones(n Chaps)to disaggregate amyloid insulin fibrils.Zinc ions chelated by NTA can bind the histidine imidazole residues while the PNIPAM microdomains can interact with the exposed hydrophobic sites on the amyloid insulin fibrils,which synergistically perturb the stability of amyloid insulin fibrils,loosen their structure,and finally promote their disaggregation.A combination of characterizations with fluorescence spectroscopy,transmission electron microscopy(TEM),dynamic hight scattering(DLS),and quartz crystal microbalance(QCM)demonstrated that mature amyloid insulin fibrils were completely disaggregated after incubating with n Chaps for 90 h.This study may provide a promising strategy for the development of n Chaps for the treatment of amyloidosis diseases. | Hui Wang Ang Li Menglin Yang Yu Zhao Linqi Shi Rujiang Ma | 2022 | Science China Chemistry2022,65,2: | 0 |
| 9 | 2-Bromopalmitate attenuates inflammatory pain by maintaining mitochondrial fission/fusion balance and function显示文摘Inflammatory pain activates astrocytes and increases inflammatory cytokine release in the spinal cord. Mitochondrial fusion and fission rely on the functions of dynamin-related protein 1 (Drp1) and optic atrophy 1 (OPA1), which are essential for the synaptic transmission and plasticity. In the present study, we aimed to explore the effects of 2-bromopalmitate (2-BP), an inhibitor of protein palmitoylation, on the modulation of pain behavior. Rats were intraplantar injected with complete Freund’s adjuvant (CFA) to establish an inflammatory pain model. In the spinal cord of rats with CFA-induced inflammatory pain, the expression of astrocyte-specific glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) and contents of proinflammatory cytokines IL-1β and TNF-α were increased. Mitochondrial Drp1 was increased, while OPA1 was decreased. Consequently, CFA induced reactive oxygen species (ROS) production and Bcl-2-associated X protein (BAX) expression. The intrathecal administration of 2-BP significantly reversed the pain behaviors of the inflammatory pain in rats. Moreover, 2-BP also reduced the Drp1 expression, elevated the OPA1 expression, and further reduced the GFAP, IL-1β, and TNF-α expression and ROS production. Furthermore, in vitro study proved a similar effect of 2-BP on the regulation of Drp1 and OPA1 expression. 2-BP also increased the mitochondrial membrane potential and decreased the levels of BAX, ROS, and proinflammatory cytokines.
