| 2 | Spatial distribution of heavy metals(Cu, Pb, Zn, and Cd)in sediments of a coastal wetlands in eastern Fujian, China显示文摘We investigated the spatial distribution(horizontal and vertical concentrations) of copper(Cu),lead(Pb), zinc(Zn), and cadmium(Cd) in five wetland types(mudflat, aquaculture wetland, water area, farmland wetland and mangrove) from three areas(Ningde, Fuding,and Xiapu), China. Cu concentrations in five wetland types descended in the order: farm wetland, mudflat, aquaculture,water area and mangrove. Pb concentrations decreased in the order: aquaculture, mangrove, farm wetland, mudflat,and water area. Zn content decreased in the order: farm wetland, water area, aquaculture, mudflat and mangrove,and Cd content decreased as follows: mangrove, aquaculture, water area, mudflat, and farm wetland. Comparison of the concentrations of the same heavy metals in different areas showed that the highest Cu(63.75 mg kg^-1) and Zn(152.32 mg kg^-1) concentrations occurred in Ningde coastal wetlands; Pb(110.58 mg kg^-1) and Cd(2.81 mg kg^-1) contents were highest in Fuding wetlands,and the average contents of all heavy metals were very low in Xiapu wetlands. Examination of the vertical distribution showed that the Cu content was high in all mudflat layers;Pb and Cd concentrations were highest in aquaculture and mangrove wetlands, respectively, and Zn content was highest in farm wetlands. The spatial distribution of Cu and Zn contents for different areas decreased as follows:Ningde [ Fuding [ Xiapu, for Pb and Cd were most concentrated in Fuding coastal wetlands. | 3 | Cloning and characterization of rice RH3 gene induced by brown planthopper显示文摘Experiments have showed that the histone H3 gene is correlated with development, cell speciality and stress response. The RH3 full-length cDNA was isolated from the cDNA library of rice infested by brown planthopper (BPH) with EST (Accession no. BU572343) screened from rice SSH library as probe. This gene encodes histone H3 protein in-cluding 136 amino acids, with one amino acid different from a kind of disease resistance-related protein in rice (AF467728). At the position 126, the aspartic acid is replaced by lysine. The time course results showed that the expression of the RH3 began to increase at 8 h after BPH-feeding, and got to its peak at 96 h. Regulations of the gene expression in treatments with stress/defense signal molecules were ana-lyzed by Northern blot. Water deficit and Pyricularia grisea increased the expression of RH3 while ABA down-regulated the gene. The enhanced accumulation of RH3 transcripts in the vascular bundle and short cell of stem after BPH feeding was revealed by RNA in situ hybridization. | 4 | Calcium pretreatment increases thermotolerance of Laminaria japonica sporophytes显示文摘Calcium is a secondary messenger in plant signaling, and its concentration changes spatially and temporally during the course of heat stress. In the present study, potassium antimonate was used to visualize calcium localization in blades of a marine macroalga, the juvenile Laminaria japonica sporophytes under heat stress (25 °C). Result showed that loosely bound calcium was mainly distributed on the cell wall under normal conditions (10 °C), and flowed into the cytoplasm when exposed to heat. The simutaneous assay on the antioxidant system changes was performed. Oxidative damage, as measured by generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) malondialdehyde (MDA) content, increased significantly during heat stress, and calcium pretreatment alleviated oxidative damage. The assay on the activities of six antioxidant enzymes demonstrated that their enzymatic activities were inhibited when exposed to heat stress, but Ca2+ pretreatment effectively attenuated the inhibition. | 5 | Flavonoids from traditional Chinese herbs for diabetes in rats:a network Meta-analysis显示文摘OBJECTIVE:In this Meta-analysis,we evaluated the hypoglycemic effect of 5 flavonoids found in traditional Chinese herbs(naringenin,kaempferol,puerarin,baicalein,and luteolin)on diabetic rats.METHODS:Four databases including Pub Med,Web of Science,Embase,and Cochrane Library,were searched from inception to May 2020.Only studies using diabetes model rats were included in the analysis.Blood glucose data from the last measurement were collected and analyzed.Pair-wise Meta-analyses were conducted using STATA v14.0 software and a Meta-analysis was conducted using STATA v14.0,ADDIS v1.16.6,and R v3.6.1.The quality of included studies was assessed with the SYRCLE risk of bias tool for animal studies,and publication bias was evaluated with a comparisonadjusted funnel plot.RESULTS:A total of 33 studies were included in the analysis,in which all 5 flavonoids showed a beneficial effect on blood glucose level of diabetic rats were included in the final analysis.The standardized mean differences(95%confidence intervals)were-4.92(-6.67,-3.17)for naringenin,-12(-18.74,-5.27)for kaempferol,-2.52(-3.77,-1.26)for puerarin,-3.04(-5.75,-0.34)for baicalein,and-1.94(-2.95,-0.92)for luteolin.The network Meta-analysis showed no statistically significant differences between the effect sizes of the flavonoids.CONCLUSION:The results of the Meta-analysis showed that naringenin,kaempferol,puerarin,baicalein,and luteolin all have clear hypoglycemic effects in rat diabetes models,highlighting their therapeutic potential for preventing and treating diabetes mellitus in clinical practice. | WU You HU Yuli LIU Wei SUN Boju ZHANG Chengfei WU Lili LIU Tonghua | 2022 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2022,42,1: | 2 |
| 6 | Impact of COVID-2019 on stroke services in China: survey from the Chinese Stroke Association显示文摘Background The COVID-19 pandemic and physical distancing guidelines have compelled stroke practices worldwide to reshape their delivery of care significantly.We aimed to illustrate how the stroke services were interrupted during the pandemic in China.Methods A 61-item questionnaire designed on Wenjuanxing Form was completed by doctors or nurses who were involved in treating patients with stroke from 1 February to 31 March 2020.Results A total of 415 respondents completed the online survey after informed consent was obtained.Of the respondents,37.8%,35.2%and 27.0%were from mild,moderate and severe epidemic areas,respectively.Overall,the proportion of severe impact(reduction>50%)on the admission of transient ischaemic stroke,acute ischaemic stroke(AIS)and intracerebral haemorrhage(ICH)was 45.0%,32.0%and 27.5%,respectively.Those numbers were 36.9%,27.9%and 22.3%;36.5%,22.1%and 22.6%;and 66.4%,47.5%and 41.1%in mild,moderate and severe epidemic areas,respectively(all p<0.0001).For AIS,thrombolysis was moderate(20%-50%reduction)or severely impacted(>50%),as reported by 54.4%of the respondents,while thrombectomy was 39.3%.These were 44.4%,26.3%;44.2%,39.4%;and 78.2%,56.5%,in mild,moderate and severe epidemic areas,respectively(all p<0.0001).For patients with acute ICH,39.8%reported the impact was severe or moderate for those eligible for surgery who had surgery.Those numbers were 27.4%,39.0%and 58.1%in mild,moderate and severe epidemic areas,respectively.For staff resources,about 20%(overall)to 55%(severe epidemic)of the respondents reported moderate or severe impact on the on-duty doctors and nurses.Conclusion We found a significant reduction of admission for all types of patients with stroke during the pandemic.Patients were less likely to receive appropriate care,for example,thrombolysis/thrombectomy,after being admitted to the hospital.Stroke service in severe COVID-19 epidemic areas,for example,Wuhan,was much more severely impacted compared with other regions in China. | Xia Wang Menglu Ouyang Cheryl Carcel Chen Chen Lingli Sun Jie Yang Yao Zhang Guofang Chen Shoujiang You Yongjun Cao Lu Ma Xin Hu Yi Sui Craig Anderson Lili Song Yongjun Wang David Wang | 2020 | Stroke & Vascular Neurology2020,5,4: | 2 |

| 10 | A MXene-Based Bionic Cascaded-Enzyme Nanoreactor for Tumor Phototherapy/Enzyme Dynamic Therapy and Hypoxia-Activated Chemotherapy显示文摘The enzyme-mediated elevation of reactive oxygen species(ROS)at the tumor sites has become an emerging strategy for regulating intracellular redox status for anticancer treatment.Herein,we proposed a camouflaged bionic cascaded-enzyme nanoreactor based on Ti_(3)C_(2)nanosheets for combined tumor enzyme dynamic therapy(EDT),phototherapy and deoxygenation-activated chemotherapy.Briefly,glucose oxidase(GOX)and chloroperoxidase(CPO)were chemically conjugated onto Ti_(3)C_(2)nanosheets,where the deoxygenation-activated drug tirapazamine(TPZ)was also loaded,and the Ti_(3)C_(2)-GOX-CPO/TPZ(TGCT)was embedded into nanosized cancer cell-derived membrane vesicles with high-expressed CD47(m_eTGCT).Due to biomimetic membrane camouflage and CD47 overexpression,m_eTGCT exhibited superior immune escape and homologous targeting capacities,which could effectively enhance the tumor preferential targeting and internalization.Once internalized into tumor cells,the cascade reaction of GOX and CPO could generate HClO for efficient EDT.Simultaneously,additional laser irradiation could accelerate the enzymic-catalytic reaction rate and increase the generation of singlet oxygen(~1O_(2)).Furthermore,local hypoxia environment with the oxygen depletion by EDT would activate deoxygenation-sensitive prodrug for additional chemotherapy.Consequently,m_eTGCT exhibits amplified synergistic therapeutic effects of tumor phototherapy,EDT and chemotherapy for efficient tumor inhibition.This intelligent cascaded-enzyme nanoreactor provides a promising approach to achieve concurrent and significant antitumor therapy. | Xiaoge Zhang Lili Cheng Yao Lu Junjie Tang Qijun Lv Xiaomei Chen You Chen Jie Liu | 2022 | Nano-Micro Letters2022,14,2: | 1 |

Especially, single-atom catalysts(SACs) have attracted more attention owing to their high specific surface areas and abundant active centers. This review summarizes recent synthetic strategies to fabricate SACs with different metal loadings on various supports, and the structural influence of supports on metal loading. Then, the functions of SACs are illustrated on electronic structure and electrocatalysis;the isolated SACs with an unsaturated coordination environment generally accelerate the electrocatalytic process and promote the selectivity. The applications of SACs to some typical electrocatalytic reactions are also introduced in detail, as well as to electrochemical energy storage and conversion systems.
