Development of a static test apparatus for evaluating the performance of three PM2.5 separators commonly used in China显示文摘PM2.5 separator directly affects the accuracy of PM2.5 sampling. The specification testing and evaluation for PM2.5 separator is particularly important, especially under China’s wide variation of terrain and climate. In this study, first a static test apparatus based on polydisperse aerosol was established and calibrated to evaluate the performance of the PM2.5 separators.A uniform mixing chamber was developed to make particles mix completely. The aerosol concentration relative standard deviations of three test points at the same horizontal chamber position were less than 0.57%,and the particle size distribution obeyed logarithmic normal distribution with an R2 of 0.996.The flow rate deviation between the measurement and the set point flow rate agreed to within±1.0%in the range of-40 to 50℃.Secondly,the separation, flow and loading characteristics of three cyclone separators(VSCC-A,SCC-A and SCC112)were evaluated using this system. The results showed that the 50%cutoff sizes(D50)of the three cyclones were 2.48,2.47 and 2.44μm when worked at the manufacturer’s recommended flow rates, respectively. The geometric standard deviation(GSD)of the capture efficiency of VSCCA was 1.23,showed a slightly sharper than SCC-A(GSD=1.27),while the SCC112 did not meet the relevant indicator(GSD=1.2±0.1)with a GSD=1.44.The flow rate and loading test had a great effect on D50,while the GSD remained almost the same as before. In addition, the maintenance frequency under different air pollution conditions of the cyclones was summarized according to the loading test. | Peng Du Jianguo Liu Huaqiao Gui Jiaoshi Zhang Tongzhu Yu Jie Wang Yin Cheng Yihuai Lu Yawei Yao Qiang Fu ChihChieh Chen | 2020 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2020,32,1: | 9
Proteomic survey towards the tissue-specific proteins of mouse mitochondria显示文摘Mitochondrion plays the key functions in mammalian cells. It is believed that mitochondrion exerts the common biologic functions in many tissues, but also performs some specific functions correspondent with tissues where it is localized. To identify the tissue-specific mitochondrial proteins, we carried out a systematic survey towards mitochondrial proteins in the tissues of C57BL/6J mouse, such as liver, kidney and heart. The mitochondrial proteins were separated by 2DE and identified by MALDI-TOF/TOF MS. Total of 87 unique proteins were identified as the tissue-specific ones, and some representatives were further verified through ICPL quantification and Western blot. Because these issue-specific proteins are coded from nuclear genes, real-time PCR was employed to examine the mRNA status of six typical genes found in the tissues. With combining of the expression data and the co-localization images obtained from confocal microscope, we came to the conclusion that the tissue-specifically mitochondrial proteins were widely distributed among the mouse tissues. Our investigation, therefore, indeed provides a solid base to further explore the biological significance of the mitochondrial proteins with tissue-orientation. | WANG Yuan SUN HaiDan RU YaWei YIN SongYue YIN Liang LIU SiQi | 2011 | Science China(Life Sciences)2011,54,1: | 3

Structural and functional imaging of brains显示文摘Analyzing the complex structures and functions of brain is the key issue to understanding the physiological and pathological processes.Although neuronal morphology and local distribution of neurons/blood vessels in the brain have been known, the subcellular structures of cells remain challenging, especially in the live brain. In addition, the complicated brain functions involve numerous functional molecules, but the concentrations, distributions and interactions of these molecules in the brain are still poorly understood. In this review, frontier techniques available for multiscale structure imaging from organelles to the whole brain are first overviewed, including magnetic resonance imaging(MRI),computed tomography(CT),positron emission tomography(PET),serial-section electron microscopy(ss EM),light microscopy(LM)and synchrotron-based X-ray microscopy(XRM).Specially,XRM for three-dimensional(3D)imaging of large-scale brain tissue with high resolution and fast imaging speed is highlighted.Additionally, the development of elegant methods for acquisition of brain functions from electrical/chemical signals in the brain is outlined. In particular, the new electrophysiology technologies for neural recordings at the single-neuron level and in the brain are also summarized. We also focus on the construction of electrochemical probes based on dual-recognition strategy and surface/interface chemistry for determination of chemical species in the brain with high selectivity and long-term stability,as well as electrochemophysiological microarray for simultaneously recording of electrochemical and electrophysiological signals in the brain. Moreover, the recent development of brain MRI probes with high contrast-to-noise ratio(CNR)and sensitivity based on hyperpolarized techniques and multi-nuclear chemistry is introduced.Furthermore, multiple optical probes and instruments, especially the optophysiological Raman probes and fiber Raman photometry, for imaging and biosensing in live brain are emphasized. Finally,a brief perspective on existing challenges and further research development is provided. | Zhichao Liu Ying Zhu Liming Zhang Weiping Jiang Yawei Liu Qiaowei Tang Xiaoqing Cai Jiang Li Lihua Wang Changlu Tao Xianzhen Yin Xiaowei Li Shangguo Hou Dawei Jiang Kai Liu Xin Zhou Hongjie Zhang Maili Liu Chunhai Fan Yang Tian | 2023 | Science China Chemistry2023,66,2: | 0
Review of the Low-Latency Optical Interconnect Technologies for Peta-Scale Computing显示文摘This paper reviews the recently developed optical interconnect technologies designed for scalable, low latency and high-throughput communications within datacenters or high performance computers. The three typical architectures including the broadcast-and-select based Optical Shared Memory Supercomputer Interconnect System (OSMOSIS) switch, the defection routing based Data Vortex switch and the arrayed waveguide grating based Low-latency Interconnect Optical Network Switch (LIONS) switch are discussed in detail. In particular, we investigate the various loopback buffering technologies in LIONS and present a proof of principle testbed demonstration showing feasibility of LIONS architecture. Moreover, the performance of LIONS, Data Vortex and OSMOSIS with traditional state-of-the-art electrical switching network based on the Flattened-ButterFly (FBF) architecture in terms of throughput and latency are compared. The simulation based performance study shows that the latency of LIONS is almost independent of the number of input ports and does not saturate even at very high input load. | S. J. B. | 8 | Changes of Plasma Levels of Brain Natriuretic Peptide in Patients with Chronic Heart Failure显示文摘Objectives To investigate the changes of plasma brain natriuretic peptide(BNP) levels in patients with chronic heart failure(CHF). Methods Plasma BNP concentrations in patients with CHF (n=56) and in normal controls (n=60) were measured with specific radioimmunoassay. Left ventricular ejection fraction in patients with chronic heart failure was measured with 99mTc gated cardiac blood pool scintigraphy. Results The results showed that Plasma BNP concentrations in patients with CHF were significantly higher than normal controls (223±79 ng/L vs 40±15 ng/L, P < 0.01). Plasma BNP concentrations had a significant negative correlation with left ventricular ejection fractions(r=-0.68, P < 0.01). Conclusions These results indicates that Plasma BNP levels are increased in patients with CHF, and they markedly increased according to the severity of heart failure classified by NYHA classifi-cation. The plasma BNP levels may be a biochemical parameter for evaluating the left ventricular function. | Pei Xiaoyang Pan Yin Hu Xuesong Li Song Xu Yawei Yu Xuejing | 2006 | South China Journal of Cardiology2006,7,2: | 0
Macroporous 3D MXene architecture for solar-driven interfacial water evaporation显示文摘Interfacial water evaporation through solar heating with photothermal materials is a promising strategy for seawater desalination and wastewater purification.Tightly packed 2D membranes with high reflection losses and limited vapor escape channels result in a low evaporation rate.In this work,3D MXene architecture was fabricated by dropping the delaminated Ti_(3)C_(2)(d-Ti_(3)C_(2))nanosheets onto the carbonized melamine foam(CMF)framework.Owing to the macroporous 3D architecture, more effective broadband solar absorption and vapor escaping were achieved. As a result, the 3D CMF@d-Ti_(3)C_(2)-based evaporator delivers a water evaporation rate of 1.60 kg/m2·h with a solar-to-vapor conversion efficiency of up to 84.6%. | Maomao Ju Yawei Yang Jianqiu Zhao Xingtian Yin Yutao Wu Wenxiu Que | 2019 | Journal of Advanced Dielectrics2019,9,6: | 0
Effect of the post-annealing temperature on the thermal-decomposed NiO_(x) hole contact layer for perovskite solar cells显示文摘A hysteresis-less inverted perovskite solar cell(PSC)with power conversion efficiency(PCE)of 13.57%was successfully achieved based on the thermal-decomposed NiO_(x) hole contact layer, possessing better electron blocking and hole extraction properties for its suitable work function and high-conduction band edge position.Herein, the transparent and high-crystalline NiO_(x) film is prepared by thermal-decomposing of the solution-derived Ni(OH)_(2) film in our study, which is then employed as hole transport layer(HTL)of the organic–inorganic hybrid PSCs.Reasonably, the post-annealing treatment, especially for the annealing temperature, could greatly affect the Ni(OH)_(2) decomposition process and the quality of decomposed NiO_(x) nanoparticles. The vital NiO_(x) HTLs with discrepant morphology, crystallinity and transmission certainly lead to a wide range of device performance. As a result,an annealing process of 400℃/2 h significantly promotes the photovoltaic properties of the NiO_(x) layer and the further device performance. | Yuxiao Guo Xingtian Yin Jie Liu Wei Chen Sen Wen Meidan Que Yapeng Tian Yawei Yang Wenxiu Que | 2018 | Journal of Advanced Dielectrics2018,8,1: | 0
Dietary Eucommia ulmoides leaf extract improves laying performance by altering serum metabolic profiles and gut bacteria in aged laying hens显示文摘The leaves of Eucommia ulmoides are rich in bioactive constituents that have potential gastrointestinal benefits for animals. In aged laying hens, intestinal health issues contribute to a significant decline in egg-laying capacity during intermediate and later stages. It remains unclear whether E.ulmoides leaf extract(ELE)can improve intestinal health and enhance egg production in elderly laying hens, and the underlying mechanisms are yet to be elucidated. Therefore,we conducted a study with 480 laying hens(65 weeks old)randomly allocated into four groups:a control group fed with the basal diet, and three treatment groups supplemented with 500,1,000,and 2,000 mg/kg of ELE,respectively. The primary active constituents of ELE include flavonoids, polysaccharides, terpenoids, and phenolic acids.Dietary supplementation with ELE at 1,000 mg/kg(ELE1000)significantly improved laying performance and egg quality compared to the other groups.ELE1000 stimulated the maturation of intestinal epithelial cells, increased villus height, and reduced crypt depth. It also influenced the levels of proteins associated with tight junctions(claudin-1 and claudin-2)and intestinal inflammatory factors(IL-6,IL-1β,and IL-2)in different intestinal sections.Integrative analysis of serum metabolomics and gut microbiota revealed that ELE1000 improved nutrient metabolism by modulating amino acid and ubiquinone biosynthesis and influenced the abundance of intestinal microbiota by enriching pivotal genera such as Bacteroides and Rikenellaceae_RC9_gut_group.We identified 15 metabolites significantly correlated with both gut microbiota and laying performance,e.g.,DL-methionine sulfoxide,THJ2201 N-valerate metabolite, tetracarbonic acid, etc. In conclusion,ELE1000 improved laying performance in elderly laying hens by affecting intestinal morphology, barrier function, microbiota, and serum metabolite profiles. These findings suggest that ELE can be a beneficial feed additive for extending the peak producing period in aged laying hens. | Xiaoxiao Liang Yawei Fu Kaimin Niu Zhenya Zhai Hongxun Shi Ruxia Wang Yulong Yin | 2023 | Animal Nutrition2023,,4: | 0
