| 5 | Chromobox homolog 4 overexpression inhibits TNF-α-induced matrix catabolism and senescence by suppressing activation of NF-κB signaling pathway in nucleus pulposus cells显示文摘Intervertebral disc degeneration(IDD)is featured as enhanced catabolism of extracellular matrix(ECM)in the nucleus pulposus(NP),in which tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α)-related cell senescence is involved.Chromobox homolog protein 4(CBX4)exhibits anti-inflammatory effects and shows promising therapeutic potential.Thus,in the present study,we explore the role of CBX4 in IDD.Immunohistochemistry staining reveals that CBX4 expression is decreased in severe degenerative NP tissues compared to mild degenerative tissues,and real-time PCR and western blot analysis results show that CBX4 expression is downregulated under TNF-αstimulation in NP cells.siRNA and adenoviruses are used to knockdown or overexpress CBX4,respectively.The results demonstrate that CBX4 knockdown augments the catabolism of ECM in human NP cells,while CBX4 overexpression in rat NP cells restores the ECM degradation induced by TNF-α,as illustrated by immunofluorescence and western blot analysis.In addition,transcriptome sequencing results reveal the regulatory effect of CBX4 on the cell cycle,and further western blot analysis and senescence-associatedβ-galactosidase staining assay indicate that CBX4 overexpression alleviates cell senescence in the presence of TNF-α.Moreover,the phosphorylation of p65,which indicates the activation of NF-κB signaling,is measured by western blot analysis and immunofluorescence assay,and the results reveal that CBX4 overexpression reduces the TNF-α-induced increase in the p-p65/p65 ratio.In addition,the effect of CBX4 overexpression in NP cells is suppressed by NF-κB agonist.In summary,our results indicate that CBX4 overexpression can suppress TNF-α-induced matrix catabolism and cell senescence in the NP by inhibiting NF-κB activation.This study may provide new approaches for preventing and treating IDD. | Yangyang Zhang Shuangxing Li Junmin Hong Jiansen Yan Zhengqi Huang Jiajun Wu Zhihuai Deng Tianyu Qin Kang Xu Wei Ye | 2022 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2022,54,7: | 2 |

| 8 | Vehicle emissions of primary air pollutants from 2009 to 2019 and projection for the 14th Five-Year Plan period in Beijing, China显示文摘Over the past decade,the emission standards and fuel standards in Beijing have been upgraded twice,and the vehicle structure has been improved by accelerating the elimination of 2.95 million old vehicles.Through the formulation and implementation of these policies,the emissions of carbon monoxide(CO),volatile organic compounds(VOCs),nitrogen oxides(NO_(x)),and fine particulate matter(PM_(2.5))in 2019 were 147.9,25.3,43.4,and 0.91 kton in Beijing,respectively.The emission factor method was adopted to better understand the emissions characteristics of primary air pollutants from combustion engine vehicles and to improve pollution control.In combination with the air quality improvement goals and the status of social and economic development during the 14th Five-Year Plan period in Beijing,different vehicle pollution control scenarios were established,and emissions reductions were projected.The results show that the emissions of four air pollutants(CO,VOCs,NO_(x),and PM_(2.5))fromvehicles in Beijing decreased by an average of 68% in 2019,compared to their levels in 2009.The contribution of NOx emissions from diesel vehicles increased from 35% in 2009 to 56% in 2019,which indicated that clean and energy-saving diesel vehicle fleets should be further improved.Electric vehicle adoption could be an important measure to reduce pollutant emissions.With the further upgrading of vehicle structure and the adoption of electric vehicles,it is expected that the total emissions of the four vehicle pollutants can be reduced by 20%-41% by the end of the 14th Five-Year Plan period. | Tongran Wu Yangyang Cui Aiping Lian Ye Tian Renfei Li Xinyu Liu Jing Yan Yifeng Xue Huan Liu Bobo Wu | 2023 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,2: | 1 |

| 12 | Conformal optical black hole for cavity显示文摘Whispering-gallery-mode(WGM)cavity is important for exploring physics of strong light-matter interaction.Yet it suffers from the notorious radiation loss universally due to the light tunneling effect through the curved boundary.In this work,we propose and demonstrate an optical black hole(OBH)cavity based on transformation optics.The radiation loss of all WGMs in the ideal OBH cavity is completely inhibited by an infinite wide potential barrier.Besides,the WGM field in the OBH cladding is revealed to follow 1/rdecay rule based on conformal mapping,which is fundamentally different from the conventional Hankel-function distributions in a homogeneous cavity.Experimentally,a truncated OBH cavity is achieved based on the effective medium theory,and both the Q-factor enhancement and tightly confined WGM fields are measured in the microwave spectra which agree well with the theoretical results.The circular OBH cavity is further applied to the arbitrary-shaped cavities including single-core and multi-core structures with high-Q factor via the conformal mapping.The OBH cavity design strategy can be generalized to resonant modes of various wave systems,such as acoustic and elastic waves,and finds applications in energy harvesting and optoelectronics. | Qingtao Ba Yangyang Zhou Jue Li Wen Xiao Longfang Ye Yineng Liu Jin‑hui Chen Huanyang Chen | 2022 | eLight2022,2,1: | 1 |

| 14 | Ultrasound microbubbles combined with liposome-mediated pNogo-R shRNA delivery into neural stem cells显示文摘In the present study, ultrasound-mediated microbubble destruction (UMMD) alone and combined with liposome technology was used as a novel nonviral technique to transfect a Nogo receptor (Nogo-R) shRNA plasmid (pNogo-R shRNA) into neural stem cells (NSCs). Using green fluorescent protein as a reporter gene, transfection efficiency of NSCs was significantly higher in the group transfected with UMMD combined with liposomes compared with that of the group transfected with UMMD or liposomes alone, and did not affect cell vitality. In addition, Nogo-R mRNA and protein expression was dramatically decreased in the UMMD combined with liposome-mediated group compared with that of other groups after 24 hours of transfection. | 18 | Traditional Chinese Medicine Constitution and Clinical Data Association with Machine Learning for Prediction of Spontaneous Abortion显示文摘Background:Early prevention of Spontaneous Abortion(SA)is essential for the treatment of recurrent spontaneous abortion.Objective:In this retrospective study,a variety of machine learning methods were used to develop predictive models and diagnose the potential risk of SA.Methods:A total of 663 pregnant women participated in the case-control study,586 of which were SA patients and 77 were normal parturition women.The research data included 25 features of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)constitution and clinical data related to SA.This work utilized 8 machine learning techniques including logistic regression,gradient boosting decision tree,k-nearest neighbor,classification and r-egression tree,multilayer perceptron,support vector machine,random forest and XG-Boost to predict SA.The performances of the applied models were evaluated by using the method of 10-fold cross-validation and by computing the diagnostic test characteristics,including accuracy,precision,recall,��1 score,and the AUC of ROC curve.Results:The��1 scores of these eight machine learning techniques were all above 97.5%.Among them,gradient boosting decision tree had the best prediction result on SA.The accuracy,precision,recall,��1 score,and the AUC of ROC curve of gradient boosting decision tree were 97.9%,99%,98.6%,98.8%,and 97.3%,respectively.Conclusion:The paper has accurately predicted the risk of SA combined with TCM constitution and clinical data. | Yan Liu Yangyang Geng Liuqing Yang Shate Xiang Qiaotong Wang Lanyawen Hu Ping Ye | 2022 | Clinical Complementary Medicine and Pharmacology2022,2,2: | 0 |
| 19 | Injectable Fiber Electronics for Tumor Treatment显示文摘Electrochemical therapy emerged as a low-cost and efective method for tumor ablation.However,it has challenges such as the production of toxic byproducts and the use of rigid electrodes that damage soft tissues.Here,we report a new injectable and tissue-compatible fber therapeutic electronics for safe and efcient tumor treatment.The design of aligned carbon nanotube(CNT)fber as electrodes endowed the device with high softness and enabled mini-invasive implantation through injection.Under a mild voltage(1.2 V),the fber device released hydroxyl ions to alter the local chemical environment of the tissues without additional toxic products/gases,leading to immediate death of tumor cells.The fexible fber device could form stable interface with tissues and showed good biocompatibility after implantation for 30 days.The in vitro experimental results showed the fber device could efciently kill 90.9%of QGY-7703 cancer cells after a single treatment in a few minutes.The tumor-bearing animal models proved that the fber therapeutic device could efectively inhibit the growth of tumor tissues,indicating it is a safe,efective,controllable and low-cost method for tumor therapy. | Yang Zhao Chuanrui Chen Yangyang Qiu Tenglong Mei Lei Ye Huan Feng Ye Zhang Liyuan Wang Yue Guo Xuemei Sun Jiaxue Wu Huisheng Peng | 2022 | Advanced Fiber Materials2022,4,2: | 0 |
