| 1 | Temporal variations and source apportionment of volatile organic compounds at an urban site in Shijiazhuang, China显示文摘Shijiazhuang,the city with the worst air quality in China,is suffering from severe ozone pollution in summer.As the key precursors of ozone generation,it is necessary to control the Volatile Organic Compounds(VOCs)pollution.To have a better understanding of the pollution status and source contribution,the concentrations of 117 ambient VOCs were analyzed from April to August 2018 in an urban site in Shijiazhuang.Results showed that the monthly average concentration of total VOCs was 66.27 ppbv,in which,the oxygenated VOCs(37.89%),alkanes(33.89%),and halogenated hydrocarbons(13.31%)were the main composite on.Eight major sources were identified using Positive Matrix Factorization modeling with an accurate VOCs emission inventory as inter-complementary methods revealed that the petrochemical industry(26.24%),other industrial sources(15.19%),and traffic source(12.24%)were the major sources for ambient VOCs in Shijiazhuang.The spatial distributions of major industrial activities emissions were identified by using geographic information statistics system,which illustrated the VOCs was mainly from the north and southeast of Shijiazhuang.The inverse trajectory analysis using Hybrid Single-Particle Lagrangian Integrated Trajectory(HYSPLIT)and Potential Source Contribution Function(PSCF)clearly demonstrated the features of pollutant transport to Shijiazhuang.These findings can provide references for local governments regarding control strategies to reduce VOCs emissions. | Yanan Guan Lei Wang Shujuan Wang Yihao Zhang Jieying Xiao Xiaoli Wang Erhong Duan Li'an Hou | 2020 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2020,32,11: | 19 |
| 2 | Evolution of secondary phase particles during deformation of Al-5Ti-1B master alloy and their effect on α-Al grain refinement显示文摘Addition of Al-5Ti-1B alloy to molten aluminum alloys can refine α-Al grains effectively and thereby improve their strength and toughness. TiAl_3 and TiB_2 in Al-5Ti-1B alloy are the main secondary-phase particles for refinement, while the understanding on the effect of their sizes on α-Al grain refinement continues to be fragmented. Therefore, Al-5Ti-1B alloys with various sizes and morphologies of the secondary-phase particles were prepared by equal channel angular pressing(ECAP). Evolution of the secondary-phase particles during ECAP process and their impact on α-Al grain refinement were studied by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscope(SEM). Results show that during the ECAP process, micro-cracks firstly appeared inside TiAl_3 particles and then gradually expanded, which resulted in continuous refinement of TiAl_3 particles. In addition, micro-distribution uniformity of TiB_2 particles was improved due to the impingement of TiAl_3 particles to TiB_2 clusters during deformation. Excessively large sizes of TiAl_3 particles would reduce the number of effective heterogeneous nucleus and thus resulted in poor grain refinement effectiveness. Moreover, excessively small TiAl_3 particles would reduce inhibitory factors for grain growth Q and weaken grain refinement effectiveness. | 3 | Heavy mineral assemblage characteristics and the Cenozoic paleogeographic evolution in southwestern Qaidam Basin显示文摘Based on the analysis of heavy mineral assemblages in Cenozoic southwestern Qaidam Basin, we found that different areas have variable heavy mineral assemblage characteristics, which suggested that there were two source areas—the Altyn Mountains and the Qimen Tagh-East Kunlun Mountains. In Ganchaigou-Shizigou-Huatugou(Area A), which was mainly source from the Altyn Mountains, its heavy minerals were mainly composed of zircon, Ti-oxides, and wollastonite in the Paleoceneearly Eocene and mainly of unstable minerals, especially amphibole, in the middle Eocene-Oligene. Since the late OligoceneMiocene, the heavy minerals were still mainly unstable minerals, but the content of epidote increased and the content of amphibole decreased. In Qigequan-Hongliuquan(Area B), which was the mixed source from the Altyn Mountains and the Qimen Tagh-East Kunlun Mountains, its heavy minerals were mainly garnet, epidote, and amphibole. The source of LücaotanDongchaishan-Kunbei(Area C) was mainly from the Qimen Tagh-East Kunlun Mountains, heavy minerals in the sediments in Area C were mainly zircon and Ti-oxides in Paleogene and garnet, epidote, and amphibole in Neogene. In Yuejin-Youshashan(Area D), where the stable minerals and unstable minerals were present simultaneously, the heavy mineral assemblages was controlled by multi-direction source. The variation of heavy mineral assemblages in southwestern Qaidam Basin shows that Altyn Mountains was of low-lying topographic relief in Paleocene-early Eocene, and the rapid uplift of Altyn Mountains started from the middle Eocene. In Paleogene, the Altyn Tagh Fault had a slow strike-slip velocity, but the strike-slip velocity increased greatly since the late Oligocene, leading to a strike-slip displacement above 300 km since Neogene. | 4 | Using ultrasound to improve the sequential post-synthesis modification method for making mesoporous Y zeolites显示文摘Mesoporous Y zeolites were prepared by the sequential chemical dealumination(using chelating agents such as ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid,H EDTA,and citric acid aqueous solutions)and alkaline desilication(using sodium hydroxide,NaOH,aqueous solutions)treatments.Specifically,the ultrasound-assisted alkaline treatment(i.e.,ultrasonic treatment)was proposed as the alternative to conventional alkaline treatments which are performed under hydrothermal conditions.In comparison with the hydrothermal alkaline treatment,the ultrasonic treatment showed the comparatively enhanced efficiency(with the reduced treatment time,i.e.,5 min vs.30 min,all with 0.2 mol·L NaOH at 65°C)in treating the dealuminated Y zeolites for creating mesoporosity.For example,after the treatment of a dealuminated zeolite Y(using 0.1 mol·L H EDTA at 100°C for 6 h),the ultrasonic treatment produced the mesoporous zeolite Y with the specific external surface area()of 160 m·g and mesopore volume()of 0.22 cm·g,being slightly higher than that by the conventional method(i.e.,=128 m·g and=0.19 cm·g).The acidic property and catalytic activity(in catalytic cracking of-octane)of mesoporous Y zeolites obtained by the two methods were comparable.The ultrasonic desilication treatment was found to be generic,also being effective to treat the dealuminated Y zeolites by citric acid.Additionally,the first step of chemical dealumination treatment was crucial to enable the effective creation of mesopores in the parent Y zeolite(with a silicon-to-aluminium ratio,Si/Al=2.6)regardless of the subsequent alkaline desilication treatment(i.e.,ultrasonic or hydrothermal).Therefore,appropriate selection of the condition of the chemical dealumination treatment based on the property of parent zeolites,such as Si/Al ratio and crystallinity,is important for making mesoporous zeolites effectively. | Rongxin Zhang Peinan Zhong Hamidreza Arandivan Yanan Guan Jinmin Liu Na Wang Yilai Jiao Xiaolei Fan | 2020 | Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2020,14,2: | 5 |

| 15 | Protective effect of brain and muscle arnt-like protein-1 against ethanol-induced ferroptosis by activating Nrf2 in mice liver and HepG2 cells显示文摘Alcohol abuse has recently become a serious health concern worldwide,and the incidence of alcoholic liver disease(ALD)is rapidly increasing with high morbidity and mortality.Ferroptosis is a newly recognized form of regulated cell death caused by the iron-dependent accumulation of lipid peroxidation.Here we showed that the circadian clock protein brain and muscle arnt-like protein-1(BMAL1)in hepatocytes is both necessary and sufficient to protect against ALD by mitigating ferroptosis.U pon exposure to alcohol(5%Lieber-DeCarli liquid alcohol diet for 10 days before binged alcohol with 5 g/kg body weight in vivo,300 mmol/L for 12 h in vitro,respectively),the content of iron,reactive oxygen species(ROS)and malondialdehyde(MDA)was boosted signifi cantly while glutathione(GSH)was decreased that mainly based on the downregulated protein expression of ferritin heavy chain(FTH),ferroportin(FPN),heme oxygenase1(HO-1)and anti-cystine/glutamate antiporter(SLC7A11),while these changes could be abolished by ferroptosis inhibitor Ferrostatin-1[Fer-1(5 mg/kg body weight for 10 days in vivo,10μmol/L for 2 h in vitro,respectively)].Further study indicated that the alcohol could activate the protein expression of BMAL1 which exerts a protective effect against ferroptosis through promoting nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2(Nrf2)translocation into nuclear and subsequently stimulating its downstream proteins FTH,FPN,glutathione peroxidase 4 activity(GPX4),HO-1,SLC7A11,while knockdown of BMAL1 and Nrf2 by RNA interference further downregulated the expression of these protein and thus promoting ferroptosis in response to alcohol.Collectively,our results unveiled that the protective action of BMAL1 during alcohol challenge depends on its ability to activate Nrf2-ARE antiferroptosis pathway and targeting hepatic BMAL1 to dampen hepatic ferroptosis signaling may have therapeutic potential for ALD. | Yanan Zhao Ranran Zhang Ziheng Chen Ziyi Wang Shuang Guan Jing Lu | 2023 | Food Science and Human Wellness2023,12,6: | 0 |

| 19 | Facile synthesis of metal-organic frameworks embedded in interconnected macroporous polymer as a dual acid-base bifunctional catalyst for efficient conversion of cellulose to 5-hydroxymethylfurfural显示文摘5-Hydroxymethylfurfural(5-HMF),as a key platform compound for the conversion of biomass to various biomass-derived chemicals and biofuels,has been attracted extensive attention.In this research,using Pickering high internal phase emulsions(Pickering HIPEs)as template and functional metal-organic frameworks(MOFs,UiO-66-SO;H and UiO-66-NH;)/Tween 85 as co-stabilizers to synthesis the dual acid-base bifunctional macroporous polymer catalyst by one-pot process,which has excellent catalytic activity in the cascade reaction of converting cellulose to 5-HMF.The effects of the emulsion parameters including the amount of surfactant(ranging from 0.5%to 2.0%(mass)),the internal phase volume fraction(ranging from 75%to 90%)and the acid/base Pickering particles mass ratio(ranging from 0:6 to 6:0)on the morphology and catalytic performance of solid catalyst were systematically researched.The results of catalytic experiments suggested that the connected large pore size of catalyst can effectively improve the cellulose conversion,and the synergistic effect of acid and base active sites can effectively improve the 5-HMF yield.The highest 5-HMF yield,about 40.5%,can be obtained by using polymer/MOFs composite as catalyst(Poly-P12,the pore size of(53.3±11.3)μm,the acid density of 1.99 mmol·g^(-1)and the base density of 1.13 mol·g^(-1))under the optimal reaction conditions(130℃,3 h).Herein,the polymer/MOFs composite with open-cell structure was prepared by the Pickering HIPEs templating method,which provided a favorable experimental basis and theoretical reference for achieving efficient production of high addedvalue product from abundant biomass. | Yanan Wei Yunlei Zhang Bing Li Wen Guan Changhao Yan Xin Li Yongsheng Yan | 2022 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2022,35,4: | 0 |
| 20 | Analysis of Nitrogen Metabolism Related Enzymes and Related Physiological Indexes of Main Foxtail Millet Varieties Developed in North China显示文摘[Objectives] This study was conducted to clarify the evolution characteristics of foxtail millet varieties in different ages and provide a basis for the breeding of new varieties. [Methods] A field experiment was carried out on 20 main foxtail millet varieties promoted in North China developed from the 1980 s to 2000 s. The physiological and biochemical indexes of different foxtail millet varieties in four ages were compared, including chlorophyll content, soluble protein content, glutamine synthetase(GS) activity and glutamate synthase(GOGAT) activity, and the correlation between enzyme activity and yield was analyzed. [Results] The chlorophyll SPAD values of the flag leaf and functional leaves of foxtail millet varieties decreased with the filling process. The SPAD values of the flag leaf, top second leaf and top third leaf were higher in the varieties developed in the 1990 s and 2000 s than those in the 1980 s and 2010 s. The activity of glutamine synthetase(GS) and glutamate synthase(GOGAT) showed a single-peak curve in different foxtail millet varieties developed in the recent 30 years, and the peaks of the two were at 7 d and at 7 or 14 d, respectively. The activity of GS and GOGAT increased with the breeding age. In the period from 7 d after anthesis to the mature period, the decreases in the soluble protein content followed an order of 2010 s, 2000 s, 1990 s and 1980 s from small to large, indicating that the degradation rate of various enzyme sources and metabolic regulators in foxtail millet plants decreased during the improvement process. At 35 d after anthesis, the correlation coefficient between GS activity and yield was-0.247, that is, there was a negative correlation with yield. And there was a significant positive correlation between GOGAT activity and yield, and the correlation coefficient was as high as 0.455 at 7 d after anthesis.
