2Early prediction of pathological outcomes to neoadjuvant chemotherapy in breast cancer patients using automated breast ultrasound显示文摘Objective: Early assessment of response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy(NAC) for breast cancer allows therapy to be individualized.The optimal assessment method has not been established.We investigated the accuracy of automated breast ultrasound(ABUS) to predict pathological outcomes after NAC.Methods: A total of 290 breast cancer patients were eligible for this study.Tumor response after 2 cycles of chemotherapy was assessed using the product change of two largest perpendicular diameters(PC) or the longest diameter change(LDC).PC and LDC were analyzed on the axial and the coronal planes respectively.Receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curves were used to evaluate overall performance of the prediction methods.Youden's indexes were calculated to select the optimal cut-off value for each method.Sensitivity, specificity,positive and negative predictive values(PPV and NPV) and the area under the ROC curve(AUC) were calculated accordingly.Results: yp T0/is was achieved in 42 patients(14.5%) while yp T0 was achieved in 30 patients(10.3%) after NAC.All four prediction methods(PC on axial planes, LDC on axial planes, PC on coronal planes and LDC on coronal planes) displayed high AUCs(all>0.82), with the highest of 0.89 [95% confidence interval(95% CI), 0.83–0.95]when mid-treatment ABUS was used to predict final pathological complete remission(p CR).High sensitivities(85.7%–88.1%) were observed across all four prediction methods while high specificities(81.5%–85.1%) were observed in two methods used PC.The optimal cut-off values defined by our data replicate the WHO and the RECIST criteria.Lower AUCs were observed when mid-treatment ABUS was used to predict poor pathological outcomes.Conclusions: ABUS is a useful tool in early evaluation of p CR after NAC while less reliable when predicting poor pathological outcomes.Xinguang Wang Ling Huo Yingjian He Zhaoqing Fan Tianfeng Wang Yuntao Xie Jinfeng Li Tao Ouyang 2016Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2016,28,5:11
3Outcome of multimodal MRI-guided intravenous thrombolysis in patients with stroke with unknown time of onset显示文摘Objective Intravenous tissue plasminogen activator(tPA)is the standard therapy for patients with acute ischaemic stroke(AIS)within 4.5 hours of onset.Recent trials have expanded the endovascular treatment window to 24 hours.We investigated the efficacy and safety of using multimodal MRI to guide intravenous tPA treatment for patients with AIS of unknown time of onset(UTO).Methods Data on patients with AIS with UTO and within 4.5 hours of onset were reviewed.Data elements collected and analysed included:demographics,National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS)score at baseline and 2 hours,24 hours,7 days after thrombolysis and before discharge,the modified Rankin Scale(mRS)score at 3 months after discharge,imaging findings and any adverse event.results Forty-two patients with UTO and 62 in control group treated within 4.5 hours of onset were treated with intravenous tPA.The NIHSS scores after thrombolysis and/or before discharge in UTO group were significantly improved compared with the baseline(p<0.05).Between the two groups,no significant differences in NIHSS score were observed(p>0.05).Utilising the non-inferiority test,to compare mRS scores(0-2)at 3 months between the two groups,the difference was 5.2%(92%CI,OR 0.196).Patients in the UTO group had mRS scores of 0-2,which were non-inferior to the control group.Their incidence of adverse events was similar.Conclusions Utilising multimodal MRI to guide intravenous only thrombolysis for patients with AIS with UTO was safe and effective.In those patients with AIS between 6 and 24 hours of time of onset but without large arterial occlusion,intravenous thrombolysis could be considered an option.Jie Zhao Hongmei Zhao Runtao Li Jiangtao Li Chang Liu Juan Lv Yanan Li Wei Liu Dongpu Ma Huaihai Hao Xinguang Xiao Junzhong Liu Yongfeng Yin Rongli Liu Qiaoyan Yu Yingjie Wei Pengyan Li Yue Wang Runqing Wang 2019Stroke & Vascular Neurology2019,4,1:8
4Evaluation of groundwater quality in the Xinjiang Plain Area显示文摘Groundwater is the main source of drinking water for the urban and rural residents in the plain area of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region,China.The quality of groundwater has a direct relationship with human health.Thus,386 groundwater samples collected from April to August in 2003 were analyzed.The samples were collected in basic evaluation units which are determined on the basis of watersheds.Total dissolved solids,total hardness,pH value,NH3–N,C6H5OH,Chemiluminescence detection of permanganate index(CODMn)and intestinal germ group were evaluated according to the guidelines of Groundwater Quality Standard(GB/T14848-93).The quality of the groundwater in each evaluation unit was classified by using the One Veto Method(a unified approach stipulated by the Ministry of Water Resources).The results indicate that the groundwater in the mainstream area of the Tarim Basin and the Yerqiang River Sub-basin belongs to Category V;the groundwater in the Wulungu River Sub-basin,the KaiduKongque River Sub-basin,the Kashgar River Sub-basin,the Cherchen River Sub-basin and the Hotan River Subbasin belongs to Category IV;the groundwater in the Aibi Lake System belongs to Category II,and the groundwater of other evaluation units belongs to Category III.The causes of water quality formation were concisely analyzed.The results can be useful for the evaluation and management of water resources in the Xinjiang Plain Area.Jinlong ZHOU Xinguang DONG Guomin LI Yiping WANG Xiaojing GUO 2010Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2010,4,2:8

6Different Dosages of Intravitreal Triamcinolone Acetonide Injections for Macular Edema Secondary to Central Retinal Vein Occlusion显示文摘Purpose:.To study the effect of intravitreal injections of triamcinolone acetonide (TA) for the treatment of macular edema secondary to central retinal vein occlusion.(CRVO).in a sample of Chinese patients from Shaanxi province. Methods:.The 50 eyes from 50 patients were separated into three TA treatment groups:.17 patients were given 4 mg/0.1 ml,.19 patients were given 8 mg/0.2 ml,.and 14 patients were given 16 mg/0.4 ml. Patients were followed up for 12 months. Foveal thickness, intraocular pressure (IOP), and best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) were measured. Results:.Macular edema responded well both anatomically and functionally to the TA injections. After the initial intravitreal injection,.macular edema recurred at 2-4 months in the low-dose group.(4 mg),.at 3-5 months in the medium-dose group (8 mg), and at 6-9 months in the high-dose group (16 mg)..No significant difference in BCVA or in foveal thickness were observed between the first intravitreal injection and the re-injection. There was no increase in IOP after re-injection of 16 mg TA,.if the patient did not have an elevated IOP after the initial intravitreal injection of 4/8 mg TA. 7The next generation models for crops and agro-ecosystems显示文摘Growth in population, decrease in arable land area, and change in climate are endangering our food security. Precision agriculture has the potential to increase crop productivity thorough tailored agricultural practices for different growing areas. Many models of crops and agro-ecosystems capable of predicting interaction between plants and environments have been developed for precision agriculture. Currently, there are several representative categories of crop and agro-ecosystem models, including the de Wit school models, the DSSAT series models and the APSIM series models, which have contributed substantially to improvement of agricultural practices. However, these models are weak in predicting performances of crops under environmental and genetic perturbations are generally weak, which severely limits the application of these models in guiding precision agriculture. We need to develop the next generation crop and agro-ecosystems models with a high level of mechanistic basis, which can be integrated with high throughput data and can predict the heterogeneity of environmental factors inside canopy and dynamic canopy photosynthesis. In developing such a model close collaboration is inevitably required among scientists from different disciplines. The successful development and application of such models will undoubtedly advance precision agriculture through providing better agronomical practices tailored for different growing environments. 9Correlation analysis between the chemical contents and bioactivity for the quality control of Alismatis Rhizoma显示文摘In order to clarify regions of production and to discriminate processing methods, quantitative and qualitative analyses for saccharides and terpenes in 35 batches of Alismatis Rhizoma were performed.Methodologies included HPLC–PDA, HPLC–VWD and UHPLC–MSn, combined with principal component analysis(PCA) and partial least squares regression techniques(PLSR). The inhibitory effects of triterpenes and Alismatis Rhizoma extracts on lipase activity were evaluated in vitro. PLSR analysis revealed significant positive correlations(R2= 0.5795) between the contents of triterpenes 10, 14, 15, 18 and 22 and the inhibitory effects of Alismatis Rhizoma. The present study establishes an effective method for simultaneous determination of multiple components, and identifies key bioactive triterpenes. 10The interaction and migration of deformation twin in an eutectic high-entropy alloy AlCoCrFeNi2.1显示文摘An eutectic high-entropy alloy consisting Al, Co, Cr, Fe and Ni elements was prepared by vacuum directional solidification technology. The alloy exhibits excellent comprehensive mechanical performance during tension at temperature range of 600–700℃. The microstructure reveals the intersection of twintwin is the prevailing deformation mechanism and the twins play a dual role in strengthening and toughening the alloy in the thermomechanical process. The deformation twin variants I and were formed by the edge dislocation 112 and the mixed dislocation 211 on the {111} crystal planes, respectively. Besides, the dislocation jogs and kinks caused by twin intersection on the slip planes can strengthen the alloy, which may contribute to the high strength(the tensile strengths at the 600°and 700°tensile tests are respectively780 MPa and 630 MPa.). 11Effect of thermal exposure on the microstructure and creep properties of a fourth-generation Ni-based single crystal superalloy显示文摘The effect of thermal exposure on microstructure and creep properties of a fourth-generation nickelbased single crystal superalloy was investigated.The thermal exposure of samples after the full heat treatment was carried out at 1000℃,1100℃ and 1140℃ for 100 h and 200 h.The γ’ coarsening,γ’ rafting and γ channel widening were observed in samples after thermal exposure.When the thermal exposure time was constant,the morphology of γ’ phase in the alloy evolved significantly with increasing aging temperature.The interracial dislocation networks in aged samples after creep ruptured gradually became irregular and sparse with the increase of exposure temperature.When the higher exposure temperature was used,enla rgement of the defect pores was observed in samples,the microcracks were more likely to initiate and propagate at the corner of these pores.After aging at 1000℃ for 100 h,the creep life at 1140℃/137 MPa was slightly longer than that of heat-treated sample,which could be attributed to the slightly coarsened γ’ phase,homogenization of refractor elements.In contrast,the creep life of sample exposed at 1140℃ for 100 h was greatly decreased.The decrease of creep life was dominated by the rafting of γ’phase,the irregular interfacial dislocation networks as well as the enlargement of homogenization pores.Yeshun Huang Xinguang Wang Chuanyong Cui Zihao Tan Jinguo Li Yanhong Yang Jinlai Liu Yizhou Zhou Xiaofeng Sun 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,10:4
12On the γ' precipitates of the normal and inverse Portevin-Le Chatelier effect in a wrought Ni-base superalloy显示文摘The Portevin-Le Chatelier(PLC) effects in a wrought Ni-base superalloy with different γ' precipitates contents have been investigated. Detailed analysis on the serration type of the tensile curves indicates that the γ' precipitates have a decisive influence on the transformation from normal to inverse PLC behavior, which is rarely proposed in other works. 13Effect of pyrophosphate on the light scatter in KDP crystal显示文摘Pyrophosphate doped potassium dihydrogen phosphate (KDP) crystal was grown from aqueous solution by the temperature lowering method. Light scatter in KDP crystal was detected with the ultramicroscopic method. The light scatter in KDP crystal was aggravated when pyro-phosphate was doped into the growth solution, which was distributed ununiformly in prism and pyramidal sectors of KDP crystal. Different effects of pyrophosphate on prism and pyramidal sectors of KDP crystal can explain this case. 14Structured laser beams: toward 2-μm femtosecond laser vortices显示文摘Structured ultrashort-pulse laser beams, and in particular eigenmodes of the paraxial Helmholtz equation, are currently extensively studied for novel potential applications in various fields, e.g., laser plasma acceleration,attosecond science, and fine micromachining. To extend these prospects further, in the present work we push forward the advancement of such femtosecond structured laser sources into the 2-μm spectral region. Ultrashortpulse Hermite– and Laguerre–Gaussian laser modes both with a pulse duration around 100 fs are successfully produced from a compact solid-state laser in combination with a simple single-cylindrical-lens converter. The negligible beam astigmatism, the broad optical spectra, and the almost chirp-free pulses emphasize the high reliability of this laser source. This work, as a proof of principle study, paves the way toward few-cycle pulse generation of optical vortices at 2 μm. 15Effect of solution cooling rate on the microstructure and creep deformation mechanism of a rhenium-free second-generation single crystal superalloy显示文摘Various cooling scenarios(water,oil,air and furnace)were employed to study the impacts of the solution cooling rate(SCR)on the microstructure and creep behavior of a novel single-crystal(SX)superalloy.The results showed that the cubic degree and size of theγphases were inversely proportional to the SCR.The creep life first increased and then dropped dramatically with a reduction in the SCR.The creep life of the sample cooled with air cooling(AC)was the highest,up to 144.90 h at 800℃/750 MPa and160.15 h at 1100℃/137 MPa.During creep at 800℃/750 MPa,the improved creep life of the AC sample was mainly attributed to the fine cubicγphases,which decreased the rate ofγ-phase coarsening and favoured plastic deformation by promoting the active movement of dislocations.The AC helped theγphases become rich in Al,Ti and Ta while depleted in Co and Cr,which enhanced its stacking fault energy,thus promoting the formation of dislocation locks.Meanwhile,the largest negative lattice misfit caused by AC induced denserγ/γinterface dislocation networks at 1100℃/137 MPa,which efficiently reduced the minimum creep rate.The calculated average dislocation spacing results indicated that the smallest density of excess dislocations corresponded to the AC sample,proving its greatest creep resistance.Interestingly,the size of the secondaryγphases first decreased and then increased sharply with decreasing SCR during creep at 1100℃/137 MPa,when fine secondaryγphases had a positive role in the blockage of dislocation movement in the matrix.Eventually,the comprehensive SCR effect was explored to provide more guidance in the design of Re-free SX superalloys.Xipeng Tao Yunling Du Xinguang Wang Jie Meng Yizhou Zhou Jinguo Li Xiaofeng Sun 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,36:3
16Microstructure evolution and mechanical behavior of Ni-based single crystal superalloy joint brazed with mixed powder at elevated temperature显示文摘Brazing of a Ni-based single crystal superalloy has been investigated with the additive Ni-based superalloy and filler Ni–Cr–W–B alloy at 1260℃, and attentions were paid to the microstructure evolution during brazing and the stress-rupture behavior at 980℃ of such brazed joints after homogenization. Microstructure in the brazed joint generally includes brazing alloy zone(BAZ), isothermally solidified zone(ISZ) and diffusion affected zone(DAZ). Microstructure evolution during this brazing process is discussed at the heating stage, the holding stage and the cooling stage respectively, according to the diffusion path of B atoms. Initially well-distributed γ’/γ’ microstructure in the homogenized bonded zone after heat treatment and substantial γ’ rafts enhance the post-brazed joint to obtain a stress-rupture lifetime of more than 120 h at 980℃/250 MPa. On the other hand, the decreased stress-rupture behavior of post-brazed joint, compared with parenting material, is ascribed to the presence of inside brazing porosity and stray grain boundary, which not only reduces the effective loading-carrying area but also offers preferential sites for creep vacancy aggregation to further soften stray grain boundary. 17Urban structure and the risk of influenza A(H1N1) outbreaks in municipal districts显示文摘Changsha was one of the most affected areas during the 2009 A(H1N1)influenza pandemic in China.Here,we analyze the spatial–temporal dynamics of the 2009 pandemic across Changsha municipal districts,evaluate the relationship between case incidence and the local urban spatial structure and predict high-risk areas of influenza A(H1N1).We obtained epidemiological data on all cases of influenza A(H1N1)reported across municipal districts in Changsha during period May 2009–December 2010 and data on population density and basic geographic characteristics for 239 primary schools,97 middle schools,347 universities,96 malls and markets,674 business districts and 121 hospitals.Spatial–temporal K functions,proximity models and logistic regression were used to analyze the spatial distribution pattern of influenza A(H1N1)incidence and the association between influenza A(H1N1)cases and spatial risk factors and predict the infection risks.We found that the 2009 influenza A(H1N1)was driven by a transmission wave from the center of the study area to surrounding areas and reported cases increased significantly after September 2009.We also found that the distribution of influenza A(H1N1)cases was associated with population density and the presence of nearest public places,especially universities(OR=10.166).The final predictive risk map based on the multivariate logistic analysis showed high-risk areas concentrated in the center areas of the study area associated with high population density.Our findings support the identification of spatial risk factors and highrisk areas to guide the prioritization of preventive and mitigation efforts against future influenza pandemics.Hong Xiao Xiaoling Lin Gerardo Chowell Cunrui Huang Lidong Gao Biyun Chen Zheng Wang Liang Zhou Xinguang He Haining Liu Xixing Zhang Huisuo Yang 2014Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,5:1
18Comments on National guidelines for diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer 2022 in China (English version)显示文摘China is facing growing number of cancer cases and deaths,as well as growing crude incidence and mortality of cancer.Breast cancer is the most common cancer type in females in China and the incidence rate for breast cancer in Chinese females has increased during the last two decades.However, breast cancer prognosis in China is poorer than that in developed countries. Population aging may at least partially explain the transition of cancer profiles we have seen in recent years. 20Influence of Ta/Al ratio on the microstructure and creep property of a Ru-containing Ni-based single-crystal superalloy显示文摘Two alloys with different Ta and Al contents were applied to study the influence of Ta/Al ratio on the microstructural evolution and creep deformation under high temperature.The increase of Ta/Al ratio made theγ/γ'lattice misfit more negative and enhanced the volume fraction ofγ'phase,which produced cubic and smallγ'phase in the initial microstructures.These initial tinyγ'phases impeded the dislocations movement and delayed the course of complete raftedγ'phase during the origination of creep deformation,which prolonged the time of the primary creep stage.Moreover,the increase of Ta/Al ratio and addition of Ru produced the denser and stable dislocation networks,the high APB energy and better solution strengthening,which hindered the climbing and sliding of dislocations,and restrained the formation of superdislocations in theγ'precipitate.The second creep stage was extended,and the minimum creep rate was reduced.Hence,the increase of whole creep life of the alloy containing high Ta/Al ratio was attributed to the prolongation of the primary and second creep stages,and the low minimum creep rate.The appearance of the topological inversion phenomenon during the tertiary creep stage was the primary cause for the sudden increase of the creep strain rate of the alloy containing low Ta/Al ratio.However,the high creep strain rate of the alloy containing high Ta/Al ratio during the tertiary creep stage was related to the occurrence and extending of the cracks near the voids.Both alloys would lose efficacy within 20 h-30 h.Wei Song Xinguang Wang Jinguo Li Jie Meng Yanhong Yang Jinlai Liu Jide Liu Yizhou Zhou Xiaofeng Sun 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,30:1
