1Allotransplantation of adult spinal cord tissues after complete transected spinal cord injury: long-term survival and functional recovery in canines显示文摘Spinal cord injury(SCI), especially complete transected SCI, leads to loss of cells and extracellular matrix and functional impairments. In a previous study, we transplanted adult spinal cord tissues(aSCTs) to replace lost tissues and facilitate recovery in a rat SCI model. However, rodents display considerable differences from human patients in the scale, anatomy and functions of spinal cord systems, and responses after injury. Thus, use of a large animal SCI model is required to examine the repair efficiency of potential therapeutic approaches. In this study, we transplanted allogenic aSCTs from adult dogs to the lesion area of canines after complete transection of the thoracic spinal cord, and investigated the long-term cell survival and functional recovery. To enhance repair efficiency, a growth factor cocktail was added during aSCT transplantation, providing a favorable microenvironment. The results showed that transplantation of a SCTs, in particular with the addition of growth factors, significantly improves locomotor function restoration and increases the number of neurofilament-, microtubule-associated protein2-, 5-hydroxytryptamine-, choline acetyltransferase-and tyrosine hydroxylase-positive neurons in the lesion area at 6 months post-surgery. In addition, we demonstrated that donor neurons in a SCTs can survive for a long period after transplantation. 2Sorption equilibrium moisture and isosteric heat of Chinese wheat bran products added to rice to increase its dietary fibre content显示文摘More and more people concern about supplementing dietary food with wheat bran to increase fibre content,but there has been little study of the sorption isotherms and isosteric heats of wheat bran fibre products,which are important to the quality and storage durability of such commodities.This study collected equilibrium moisture content(EMC)and equilibrium relative humidity(ERH)data on six Chinese wheat bran products via the static gravimetric method and analysed their sorption isosteric heats.Results showed that all six wheat bran products had sigmoidal isotherms.The data were best fitted by polynomial,modified GAB,modified Oswin,and modified Halsey models.The relative safe moisture contents of the six wheat bran products were 12.20%–13.86%wet basis(w.b.).The heat of vaporization of wheat bran products approached the latent heat of pure water at around a moisture content(MC)of 22.5%and approximately 2450 kJ/kg.A process of extrusion and ultrafine grinding reduced the solid surface area and sorption isosteric heats of the monolayer,multilayer and condensed water regions in the wheat bran products.In the temperature range of 10–37℃,the EMC of sorption in monolayer,multilayer and condensed water regions decreased with increasing temperature.The milled rice to which 1%–3%200-mesh wheat bran product was added maintained its texture when made into cooked rice and its thermomechanical properties when made into rice dough.After processing by extrusion and ultrafine grinding,wheat bran products have a lower solid surface area and lower monolayer water content(Mm)and sorption isosteric heat values.Some 3%200-mesh wheat bran product can be added to cooked rice for increasing its fibre content and making it more nutritious.Xingjun Li Xu Han Lisi Tao Ping Jiang Wen Qin 2021Grain & Oil Science and Technology2021,4,4:1
3Advances in targeted therapy mainly based on signal pathways for nasopharyngeal carcinoma显示文摘Nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC)is a malignant epithelial carcinoma of the head and neck region which mainly distributes in southern China and Southeast Asia and has a crucial association with the Epstein–Barr virus.Based on epidemiological data,both incidence and mortality of NPC have significantly declined in recent decades grounded on the improvement of living standard and medical level in an endemic region,in particular,with the clinical use of individualized chemotherapy and intensity-modulated radiotherapy(IMRT)which profoundly contributes to the cure rate of NPC patients.To tackle the challenges including local recurrence and distant metastasis in the current NPC treatment,we discussed the implication of using targeted therapy against critical molecules in various signal pathways,and how they synergize with chemoradiotherapy in the NPC treatment.Combination treatment including targeted therapy and IMRT or concurrent chemoradiotherapy is presumably to be future options,which may reduce radiation or chemotherapy toxicities and open new avenues for the improvement of the expected functional outcome for patients with advanced NPC.Yuanbo Kang Weihan He Caiping Ren Jincheng Qiao Qiuyong Guo Jingyu Hu Hongjuan Xu Xingjun Jiang Lei Wang 2020Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2020,5,1:1

5Water-soluble brown carbon in atmospheric aerosols from the resource-dependent cities:Optical properties,chemical compositions and sources显示文摘As a vital type of light-absorbing aerosol,brown carbon(BrC)presents inherent associations with atmospheric photochemistry and climate change.However,the understanding of the chemical and optical properties of BrC is limited,especially in some resource-dependent cities with long heating periods in northwest China.This study showed that the annual average abundances of Water-soluble BrC(WS-BrC)were 9.33±7.42 and 8.69±6.29μg/m^(3)in Baotou and Wuhai and the concentrations,absorption coefficient(Abs_(365)),and mass absorption efficiency(MAE365)of WS-BrC presented significant seasonal patterns,with high values in the heating season and low values in the non-heating season;while showing opposite seasonal trends for the Absorption Angstr?m exponent(AAE_(300-400)).Comparatively,the levels of WS-BrC in developing regions(such as cities in Asia)were higher than those in developed regions(such as cities in Europe and Australia),indicating the significant differences in energy consumption in these regions.By combining fluorescence excitation-emission matrix(EEM)spectra with the parallel factor(PARAFAC)model,humic-like(C1 and C2)and proteinlike(C3)substances were identified,and accounted for 61.40%±4.66%and 38.6%±3.78%at Baotou,and 60.33%±6.29%and 39.67%±4.17%at Wuhai,respectively.The results of source apportionment suggested that the potential source regions of WS-BrC varied in heating vs.non-heating seasons and that the properties of WS-BrC significantly depended on primary emissions(e.g.,combustion emissions)and secondary formation.Haoji Wang Yue Su Yangzheng Liu Fei Xie Xingjun Zhou Ruihong Yu Changwei Lü Jiang He 2024Journal of Environmental Sciences2024,,4:0
6A novel inactivated whole-cell Pseudomonas aeruginosa vaccine that acts through the cGAS-STING pathway显示文摘Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection continues to be a major threat to global public health,and new safe and efficacious vaccines are needed for prevention of infections caused by P.aeruginosa.X-ray irradiation has been used to prepare whole-cell inactivated vaccines against P.aeruginosa infection.However,the immunological mechanisms of X-ray-inactivated vaccines are still unclear and require further investigation.Our previous study found that an X-ray-inactivated whole-cell vaccine could provide protection against P.aeruginosa by boosting T cells.The aim of the present study was to further explore the immunological mechanisms of the vaccine.Herein,P.aeruginosa PAO1,a widely used laboratory strain,was utilized to prepare the vaccine,and we found nucleic acids and 8-hydroxyguanosine in the supernatant of X-ray-inactivated PAO1(XPa).By detecting CD86,CD80,and MHCII expression,we found that XPa fostered dentritic cell(DC)maturation by detecting.XPa stimulated the cGAS-STING pathway as well as Toll-like receptors in DCs in vitro,and DC finally underwent apoptosis and pyroptosis after XPa stimulation.In addition,DC stimulated by XPa induced CD8+T-cell proliferation in vitro and generated immunologic memory in vivo.Moreover,XPa vaccination induced both Th1 and Th2 cytokine responses in mice and reduced the level of inflammatory factors during infection.XPa protected mice in pneumonia models from infection with PAO1 or multidrug-resistant clinical isolate W9.Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)mice immunized with XPa could resist PAO1 infection.Therefore,a new mechanism of an X-ray-inactivated whole-cell vaccine against P.aeruginosa infection was discovered in this study.Cuicui Ma Xiao Ma Boguang Jiang Hailong Pan Xueyuan Liao Li Zhang Wenfang Li Yingjie Luo Zhixue Shen Xingjun Cheng Mao Lian Zhenling Wang 2021Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,11:0
7An enhanced spectral diversity coregistration method for dualpolarimetric Sentinel-1A/B TOPS data显示文摘Sentinel-1A/B data are crucial for retrieving numerical information about surface phenomena and processes.Coregistration of terrain observation by progressive scans(TOPS)data is a critical step in its application.TOPS data must be fundamentally co-registered with an accuracy of 0.001 pixels.However,various decorrelation factors due to natural vegetation and seasonal effects affect the coregistration accuracy of TOPS data.This paper proposed an enhanced spectral diversity coregistration method for dual-polarimetric(PolESD)Sentinel-1A/B TOPS data.The PolESD method suppresses speckle noise based on a unified non-local framework in dual-pol Synthetic Aperture Radar(SAR),and extracts the phase of the optimal polarization channel from the denoised polarimetric interferometric coherency matrix.Compared with the traditional ESD method developed for single-polarization data,the PolESD method can obtain more accurate coherence and phase and get more pixels for azimuth-offset estimation.In bare areas covered with low vegetation,the number of pixels selected by PolESD is more than the Boxcar method.It can also correct misregistration more effectively and eliminate phase jumps in the burst edge.Therefore,PolESD will help improve the application of TOPS data in low-coherence scenarios.Nan Fang Xingjun Luo Peng Shen Lei Xie Guoming Liu Feixiang Wei Kun Jiang Wenbin Xu 2023Geodesy and Geodynamics2023,14,5:0

9High performance architecture for unified forward and inverse transform of HEVC显示文摘High efficiency video coding(HEVC) transform algorithm for residual coding uses 2-dimensional(2D) 4×4 transforms with higher precision than H.264's 4×4 transforms, resulting in increased hardware complexity. In this paper, we present a shared architecture that can compute the 4×4 forward discrete cosine transform(DCT) and inverse discrete cosine transform(IDCT) of HEVC using a new mapping scheme in the video processor array structure. The architecture is implemented with only adders and shifts to an area-efficient design. The proposed architecture is synthesized using ISE14.7 and implemented using the BEE4 platform with the Virtex-6 FF1759 LX550T field programmable gate array(FPGA). The result shows that the video processor array structure achieves a maximum operation frequency of 165.2 MHz. 10Spontaneous emission rate and optical amplification of Er3+ in double slot waveguide显示文摘The spontaneous emission(SE) of Er3+ embedded in a double slot dielectric structure was studied by a quantum-electrodynamical formalism. The study shows that the slot width and the position of Er3+ in slot structure have a significant effect on the SE. The double slot waveguides were fabricated by embedding two low-index Er/Yb silicate material layers into high-index silicon. The radiative efficiency of Er3+ in the double slot waveguides is found to be higher than that of the single slot waveguide, which is consistent with the theory simulation. The 0.67 d B signal enhancement at 1.53 ?m in a 4.6-mm-long slot waveguide was observed pumped by 1476 nm laser.
