1Molecular behaviors in thin film lubrication——Part three: Superlubricity attained by polar and nonpolar molecules显示文摘In thin-film lubrication(TFL), generally, the viscosity of the lubricant and its coefficient of friction(Co F) increase. Finding a method to reduce the Co F in TFL is a significant challenge for tribologists. In the present work, we report a robust superlubricity attained by using polyalkylene glycols(PAGs, polar molecules) and poly-α-olefins(PAOs, nonpolar molecules) as lubricants on steel/steel friction pairs that have been pre-treated by wearing-in with polyethylene glycol aqueous solution(PEG(aq)). A steady superlubricity state with a Co F of 0.0045 for PAG100 and 0.006 for PAO6 could be maintained for at least 1 h. Various affecting factors, including the sliding velocity, normal load, and viscosity of the lubricants, were investigated. Element analysis proved that composite tribochemical layers were deposited on the worn region after the treatment with PEG(aq). These layers were formed by the tribochemical reactions between PEG and steel and composed of various substances including oxides, iron oxides, Fe OOH, and Fe(OH)3, which contributed to the superlubricity. In addition to the tribochemical layers, ordered layers and a fluid layer were formed by the PAGs and PAOs during the superlubricity periods. All the three types of layers contributed to the superlubricity, indicating that it was attained in the TFL regime. Accordingly, a mechanism was proposed for the superlubricity of the PAGs and PAOs in the TFL regime in this work. 2Transcriptional Regulation of miR528 by OsSPL9 Orchestrates Antiviral Response in Rice显示文摘Many microRNAs (miRNAs) are critical regulators of plant antiviral defense.However,little is known about how these miRNAs respond to virus invasion at the transcriptional level.We previously show that defense against Rice stripe virus (RSV) invasion entailed a reduction of miR528 accumulation in rice,alleviating miR528-mediated degradation of L-Ascorbate Oxidase (AO) mRNA and bolstering the antiviral activity of AO.Here we show that the miR528-A0 defense module is regulated by the transcription factor SPL9.SPL9 displayed high-affinity binding to specific motifs within the promoter region of miR528 and activated the expression of miR528 gene in vivo.Loss-of-function mutations in SPL9 caused a significant reduction in miR528 accumulation but a substantial increase of AO mRNA,resulting in enhanced plant resistance to RSV.Conversely,transgenic overexpression of SPL9 stimulated the expression of miR528 gene,hence lowering the level of AO mRNA and compromising rice defense against RSV.Importantly,gain in RSV susceptibility did not occur when SPL9 was overexpressed in mir528 loss-of-function mutants,or in transgenic rice expressing a miR528-resistant AO.Taken together,the finding of SPL9-mediated transcriptional activation of miR528 expression adds a new regulatory layer to the miR528-A0 antiviral defense pathway.Shengze Yao Zhirui Yang Rongxin Yang Yu Huang Ge Guo Xiangyue Kong Ying Lan Tong Zhou He Wang Wenming Wang Xiaofeng Cao Jianguo Wu Yi Li 2019Molecular Plant2019,12,8:10
3An increase in corn resistant starch decreases protein fermentation and modulates gut microbiota during in vitro cultivation of pig large intestinal inocula显示文摘High-protein diet could cause an increase in protein fermentation in the large intestine, leading to an increased production of potentially detrimental metabolites. We hypothesized that an increase in corn resistant starch content may attenuate the protein fermentation. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of resistant starch on protein fermentation by inocula from large intestine of pigs using in vitro cultivation. Fermentation patterns were analyzed during a 24-h incubation of cecal and colonic digesta with varying corn resistant starch contents, using casein protein as sole nitrogen source. The results showed that the concentration of short-chain fatty acids(SCFA) and cumulative gas production were significantly increased(P < 0.05), while ammonia-nitrogen(NH_3-N) and branched-chain fatty acids(BCFA), which indicated protein fermentation, decreased when the corn resistant starch levels increased(P < 0.05). The copies of total bacteria, Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus were significantly increased with the increased corn resistant starch levels after incubation(P < 0.05). The copies of the Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus in cecum were significantly higher than those in colon(P < 0.05). 4Conductive grease synthesized using nanometer ATO as an additive显示文摘A new conductive grease was synthesized using a nanometer powder,i.e.,Sb doped SnO2(ATO),as an additive.The typical properties of this new conductive grease were investigated in detail.The results indicate that ATO can dramatically improve the dropping point and reduce contact resistance.The tribological properties of the new conductive grease were investigated using the MFT-R4000 reciprocating friction and wear tester.The tribol-test results indicate that ATO can dramatically improve the tribological properties of the grease.When the ATO concentration is 0.1wt%,the grease demonstrates the best friction reduction properties;when the concentration is 0.5wt%,the grease demonstrates the best anti-wear properties.The worn surfaces were observed and analyzed by scanning electron microscopy and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy,and the friction mechanisms for the new conductive grease are proposed.The excellent tribological properties of the new conductive grease are attributed to the mechanical effect of ATO,and the film formed by Sn and Sb elements or metallic oxide deposited on worn surfaces during the friction process.Xiangyu GE Yanqiu XIA Zongying SHU Xiaopei ZHAO 2015Friction2015,3,1:6
5INTERVENTIONAI DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT OF VASCULOGENEIC PULSATILE TINNITUS显示文摘Objective To retrospectively study clinical features and diagnostic imaging of vasculogeneic pulsatile tinnitus, and the feasibility and efficacy of transvascular interventional treatment for this condition. Methods Data from 82 cases of arterial or venous pulsatile tinnitus were reviewed. DSA characteristics and possible pathophysiological mechanisms of pulsatile tinnitus in these cases were studied. Diagnoses in this group included intracranial arterovenous fistula(AVF)(n=3), spontaneous skull base dural AVF(n=16), traumatic carotid-cavernous sinus fistula(n=5), subclavian artery stenosis(n=2), internal carotid artery stenosis(n=3), intracranial arterial stenosis(n=1), kinked and/or elongated vertebrobasilar artery(n=2), venous sinus diverticulum(n=2), venous sinus stenosis on the dominant drainage side(n=46) and occipital sinus stenosis(n=2).Treatments included embolization and stenting using coils, NBCA glue, Balt balloons, self-expansion stents and intracranial micro-stents via either the femoral artery or femoral vein. Results Procedures were successful in all cases with no surgery-related complications. Tinnitus disappeared within 2 days after the procedure in all cases. Follow up duration was 5-36 months. Recurrence occurred in 4 cases of arterial tinnitus within 3 months following the initial procedure, which improved after revision embolization or symptom management. There was no recurrence in venous tinnitus cases following stent plastic or stent-coiling embolization treatments. Conclusions Endovascular intervention provides a new approach to the diagnosis and treatment of intractable pulsatile tinnitus. 7Fracture Morphologies of Advanced High Strength Steel During Deformation显示文摘The fracture morphologies of several advanced high-strength steels(DP590,DP780,DP980,Ml 180,and M1300) formed in uniaxial tension and piercing were observed by scanning electron microscope,and then quantitatively analyzed by image processing technique.The tension-induced fractographs are dominated by obvious uniform or bimodal size dimples,while shearing-induced fractographs have smooth surfaces and few dimples.The fracture zone of higher grade DP steels is smoother.As for Ml 180 and Ml300,the fracture zones consist of very small dimples and smooth brittle surfaces.The dimple size of M1300(~ 1.2 urn) is smaller than that of Ml 180(~ 1.6 μm).Moreover,in the tensile fracture,the quantitative correlation between average dimple diameter(d) and tensile strength(σ) can be represented by d = 10,502.32σ^(-1 21).However,the relation between dimple density and tensile strength is not monotonic due to the appearance of bimodal size dimples with increase of tensile strength.For shearing-induced fracture during piercing,the fitted empirical model between the percentage of burnish zone(f) and tensile strength can be described asf= 239.9σ^(-036).Ying Sun Xifeng Li Xiangyu Yu Delong Ge Jun Chen Jieshi Chen 2014Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2014,27,1:1

10Effects of pore size on the lubrication properties of porous polyimide retainer material显示文摘An oil-impregnated porous polyimide(PI)retainer is used in space rolling bearings to improve the lubrication performance,which depends on the release of lubricant from the pores,and therefore is closely related to the pore size.To study the effect of pore size,in this work,PI materials with different pore sizes were prepared by preheating the retainer tube billet during the limit pressing process,and then the friction tests were conducted with the ball-on-ring mode.The results show that the applied load deforms the pores,allowing the lubricant to be squeezed out from the pore;the centrifugal effect induced by rotation also makes the lubricant migrate out of the pore.Therefore,for the same pore sizes,the friction coefficients decrease with the increasing loads and rotation speeds.In addition,it was found that there exists an optimal pore size for the best lubrication properties of porous PI material.Furthermore,the optimal pore size should be larger for lubricants with high viscosity.The microscopic mechanism for lubricant outflow from pores is clarified by molecular dynamic simulations.The insights gained in this study can guide the preparation of oil-impregnated porous retainers under different working conditions.Wenbin CHEN Wenzhong WANG Pengzhe ZHU Xiangyu GE 2023Friction2023,11,8:1

12Assessment of ecological quality in Northwest China(2000-2020)using the Google Earth Engine platform:Climate factors and land use/land cover contribute to ecological quality显示文摘The ecological quality of inland areas is an important aspect of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals(UN SDGs).The ecological environment of Northwest China is vulnerable to changes in climate and land use/land cover,and the changes in ecological quality in this arid region over the last two decades are not well understood.This makes it more difficult to advance the UN SDGs and develop appropriate measures at the regional level.In this study,we used the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer(MODIS)products to generate remote sensing ecological index(RSEI)on the Google Earth Engine(GEE)platform to examine the relationship between ecological quality and environment in Xinjiang during the last two decades(from 2000 to 2020).We analyzed a 21-year time series of the trends and spatial characteristics of ecological quality.We further assessed the importance of different environmental factors affecting ecological quality through the random forest algorithm using data from statistical yearbooks and land use products.Our results show that the RSEI constructed using the GEE platform can accurately reflect the ecological quality information in Xinjiang because the contribution of the first principal component was higher than 90.00%.The ecological quality in Xinjiang has increased significantly over the last two decades,with the northern part of this region having a better ecological quality than the southern part.The areas with slightly improved ecological quality accounted for 31.26%of the total land area of Xinjiang,whereas only 3.55%of the land area was classified as having a slightly worsen(3.16%)or worsen(0.39%)ecological quality.The vast majority of the deterioration in ecological quality mainly occurred in the barren areas Temperature,precipitation,closed shrublands,grasslands and savannas were the top five environmental factors affecting the changes in RSEI.Environmental factors were allocated different weights for different RSEI categories.In general,the recovery of ecological quality in Xinjiang has been controlled by climate and land use/land cover during the last two decades and policy-driven ecological restoration is therefore crucial.Rapid monitoring of inland ecological quality using the GEE platform is projected to aid in the advancement of the comprehensive assessment of the UN SDGs.WANG Jinjie DING Jianli GE Xiangyu QIN Shaofeng ZHANG Zhe 2022Journal of Arid Land2022,14,11:1

17Estimation of soil organic matter in the Ogan-Kuqa River Oasis, Northwest China, based on visible and near-infrared spectroscopy and machine learning显示文摘Visible and near-infrared(vis-NIR)spectroscopy technique allows for fast and efficient determination of soil organic matter(SOM).However,a prior requirement for the vis-NIR spectroscopy technique to predict SOM is the effective removal of redundant information.Therefore,this study aims to select three wavelength selection strategies for obtaining the spectral response characteristics of SOM.The SOM content and spectral information of 110 soil samples from the Ogan-Kuqa River Oasis were measured under laboratory conditions in July 2017.Pearson correlation analysis was introduced to preselect spectral wavelengths from the preprocessed spectra that passed the 0.01 level significance test.The successive projection algorithm(SPA),competitive adaptive reweighted sampling(CARS),and Boruta algorithm were used to detect the optimal variables from the preselected wavelengths.Finally,partial least squares regression(PLSR)and random forest(RF)models combined with the optimal wavelengths were applied to develop a quantitative estimation model of the SOM content.The results demonstrate that the optimal variables selected were mainly located near the range of spectral absorption features(i.e.,1400.0,1900.0,and 2200.0 nm),and the CARS and Boruta algorithm also selected a few visible wavelengths located in the range of 480.0–510.0 nm.Both models can achieve a more satisfactory prediction of the SOM content,and the RF model had better accuracy than the PLSR model.The SOM content prediction model established by Boruta algorithm combined with the RF model performed best with 23 variables and the model achieved the coefficient of determination(R2)of 0.78 and the residual prediction deviation(RPD)of 2.38.The Boruta algorithm effectively removed redundant information and optimized the optimal wavelengths to improve the prediction accuracy of the estimated SOM content.Therefore,combining vis-NIR spectroscopy with machine learning to estimate SOM content is an important method to improve the accuracy of SOM prediction in arid land.ZHOU Qian DING Jianli GE Xiangyu LI Ke ZHANG Zipeng GU Yongsheng 2023Journal of Arid Land2023,15,2:0
18Research on Energy Efficiency Characteristics of Mining Shovel Hoisting and Slewing System Driven by Hydraulic-Electric Hybrid System显示文摘Mining shovel is a crucial piece of equipment for high-efficiency production in open-pit mining and stands as one of the largest energy consumption sources in mining.However,substantial energy waste occurs during the descent of the hoisting system or the deceleration of the slewing platform.To reduce the energy loss,an innovative hydrau-lic-electric hybrid drive system is proposed,in which a hydraulic pump/motor connected with an accumulator is added to assist the electric motor to drive the hoisting system or slewing platform,recycling kinetic and potential energy.The utilization of the kinetic and potential energy reduces the energy loss and installed power of the min-ing shovel.Meanwhile,the reliability of the mining shovel pure electric drive system also can be increased.In this paper,the hydraulic-electric hybrid driving principle is introduced,a small-scale testbed is set up to verify the feasibil-ity of the system,and a co-simulation model of the proposed system is established to clarify the system operation and energy characteristics.The test and simulation results show that,by adopting the proposed system,compared with the traditional purely electric driving system,the peak power and energy consumption of the hoisting electric motor are reduced by 36.7%and 29.7%,respectively.Similarly,the slewing electric motor experiences a significant decrease in peak power by 86.9%and a reduction in energy consumption by 59.4%.The proposed system expands the application area of the hydraulic electric hybrid drive system and provides a reference for its application in over-sized and super heavy equipment.Xiangyu Wang Lei Ge Yunhua Li Long Quan 2023Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2023,36,6:0

20Energy consumption optimization for edge computing-supported cellular networks based on optimal transport theory显示文摘With advancements in mobile communication technologies,there have been multiple user device(UD)connections to cellular networks.Because of changes in the spatial distribution of UDs and application requirements,the traditional offloading mechanism based on the nearest distance will result in heavy loads for some base stations(BSs).Because there is a high-order relationship between the energy consumption of the BS processing tasks and the number of computing tasks,the traditional offloading mechanism will result in high energy consumption,and UD’s offloading decision must be dynamically adjusted.The offloading decision of UDs is optimized based on detailed information about various parameters associated with a network from the standpoint of distribution.This information includes details regarding the spatial distribution of UDs,application requirements,and the offloading period of computing tasks.Based on optimal transport theory,an energy consumption optimization algorithm is suggested to lower the total amount of energy consumed by the offloading process of UDs’computing tasks by reasonably planning the offloading BSs of the UDs in the networks.The simulation results show that the proposed offloading mechanism based on energy consumption optimization reduces the total energy consumption of the offloading process by 28.09%when compared to the traditional offloading mechanism,and the traffic managed by each BS is balanced.Xiangyu LV Xiaohu GE Yi ZHONG Qiang LI Yong XIAO 2024Science China(Information Sciences)2024,67,2:0
