2Timing and geochemical characters of the Sanchazi magmatic arc in Mianlüe tectonic zone,South Qinling显示文摘The Sanchazi mafic-ultramafic complex in Mianlüe tectonic zone,South Qinling can be subdivided into two blocks,I.e.Sanchazi paleo-magmatic arc and Zhuangkegou paleo-oceanic crust fragment (ophiolite).The Sanchazi paleo-magmatic arc is mainly composed of ande-site,basaltic and basalt-andesitic gabbro(or diorite),andesitic dyke,plagiogranite and minor ul-tramafric rocks,which have typical geochemical features of island arc volcanic rocks,such as high field strength element(e.g.Nb,Ti)depletions and lower Cr,Ni contents.The Light rare earth element (LREE) and K enrichments of these rocks and zircon xenocrystals of 900 Ma from plagiogranite suggest that this magmatic arc was developed on the South active continental margin of the South Qinling micro-continent.The U-Pb age of (300±61) Ma for zircons from plagiogranite in-dicates that the Mianlüe paleo-oceanic crust was probably subducted underneath the South Qinling micro-continent in Carboniferous.This is consistent with the formation time (309Ma) of the Huwan eclogite originating form oceanic subduction in Dabie Mountains,suggesting that the Mianlüe paleo-ocean probably extended eastward to the Dabie Mountains in Carboniferous.The high-Mg adakitic rocks in Sanchazi paleo-magmatic arc suggest thet the subducted oceanic crust was relatively young (<25Ma) and hot.LI Shuguang1, HOU Zhenhui1, YANG Yongcheng2, SUN Weidong1,1), ZHANG Guowei3, & LI Qiuli1 1. 3Geochemistry of the subduction-related magmatic rocks in the Dahong Mountains, northern Hubei Province--Constraint on the existence and subduction of the eastern Mianlüe oceanic basin显示文摘The existence and subduction of the eastern Mianl黣 oceanic basin in the south Qinling belt are keys to understand the Qinling orogen. Based on geological mapping, several volcanic slices have been identified in Tumen, Zhoujiawan, Xiaofu and Yuantan areas, which distribute in the northern margin of the Dahong Mountains (DHM), and thrust into the Sanli-gang-Sanyang fault. These slices consist mainly of diabases, basaltic-andesitic lavas, pyroclastic rocks and a minor tuff. The geochemistry of the basalts, andesites,and diabases is characterized by depleting in Nb and Ta, enriching in Th and LILE (e.g.K, Rb, Ba), and undifferentiating in HFSE. These geochemical characteristics suggest that the original magma of these rocks was derived from a mantle wedge above a subduction zone, and formed in an island-arc setting in Carboniferous-early Triassic. Comparing with the ophiolites and island-arc volcanic rocks in Mianxian-Leyang area to the west, it is reasonable to consider that there had been an oceanic basin connecting with the Mianle ancient ocean to the westward, distributing along the south edge of the Tongbai-Dabie block. 4A paleontological perspective of vertebrate origin显示文摘The Early Cambrian Haikouichthys and Haikouella have been claimed to be related to contribute in an important way to our understanding of vertebrate origin, but there have been heated debates about how exactly they are to be interpreted. New discoveries of numerous speci-mens of Haikouichthys not only confirm the identity of pre-viously described structures such as the dorsal and the ven-tral fins, and chevron-shaped myomeres, but also reveal many new important characteristics, including sensory or-gans of the head (e.g. large eyes), and a prominent notochord with differentiated vertebral elements. This 揻irst fish?ap-pears, however, to retain primitive reproductive features of acraniates, suggesting that it is a stem-group craniates. A new order (Myllokunmingiida) and a new family (Myllo-kunmingiidae) are erected, and a new species, Zhongjianich-thys rostratus (gen. et sp. nov.), is described herein. Over 1400 newly-discovered specimens of Haikouella provide a wealth of anatomical information on this organism. It differs from chordates in many organs and organ systems, including the skin, muscles, respiratory, circulatory and nervous sys-tems. In contrast, its body-design resembles that of vetuli-colians, and the presence of a 搕ransitional?nervous system with both dorsal and ventral nerve cords suggests an affinity with living hemichordates. On the basis of these and other recent findings of fossil deuterostomes, a five-step hypothesis for vertebrate origin is proposed, intended to bridge the long- standing gap between protostomes and vertebrates. Four of the five steps accord with established ideas current in modern evolutionary zoology. Evidence for the first step is obtainable only from fossils, and specifically from fossils found from South China, hence the crucial importance of S. China sites for our understanding of early vertebrate origins and evolution. 5Insulin improves cardiac myocytes contractile function recovery in simulated ischemia-reperfusion:Key role of Akt显示文摘The present study examined cardiac myocytecontractile and Ca2+ transient responses to insulin duringsimulated ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) and furtherinvestigated the role of protein kinase B (Akt) in the insulin-induced inotropic effect. Ventricular myocytes wereenzymatically isolated from adult Sprague-Dawley rats and perfused with Tyrode solution while electrically field-stimulated. Simulated I/R was induced by perfusing the cells with chemical anoxic solution including sodiumcyanide-sodium lactate for 15 min followed by reperfusionwith normal oxygenated Tyrode solution with or withoutinsulin. It is found that insulin only at concentration as high as 10 IU/L could increase cell shortening (16±5%, P < 0.05) in normal myocytes, whereas it concentration-dependently (0.01—10 IU/L) increased the contraction,the velocity ofshortening/releng- thening and Ca2+ transient in I/Rmyocytes. In addition, insulin treatment (1 IU/L) increasedAkt phosphorylation of I/R cardiomyocytes by 2.4-foldcompared with that of the control (P < 0.01). Mostimportantly, pretreatment with LY 294002, a specificinhibitor of phosphatidylinositol 3′-kinase (PI3-kinase), significantly inhibited both Akt phosphorylation and thepositive inotropic response to insulin in the I/Rcardiomyocytes. These results suggest that insulin exertsdirect positive inotropic effect by increasing Ca2+ transient of cardiomyocytes, which is enhanced in the pathologicalcondition of I/R. 6Comparison of eastern paleo-Tethyan ophiolites and its geodynamic significance--Evidence from Dur'ngoi ophiolite显示文摘Nd-Pb isotopic geochemistry of metabasalt from Dur抧goi ophiolite, Qinghai Prov-ince, NW China reveals the presence of DMM mixing with EMII components in its upper mantle source, which is comparable with present Indian MORB. Comparisons indicate that the geo-chemistry, chronology and source characteristics of Dur抧goi ophiolite coincide with Pa-leo-tethyan ophiolites from 揝anjiang?area. This detection was based on the inhibitory effect of vitamins on the CL reaction between luminol and BrO- in basic aqueous solution.
