| 1 | Effects of lysedEnterococcus faecalis FK-23 on experimental allergic rhinitis in a murine model显示文摘In the current study,we sought to investigate whether lysed Enterococcus faecalis FK-23(LFK),a heat-killed probiotic preparation,attenuated eosinophil influx into the upper airway and had immunomodulatory activity in a murine allergic rhinitis model.Eighteen BALB/c mice were divided into three groups;the ovalbumin(OVA)-sensitized/challenged group,which received saline orally for 6 weeks(OVA group),the OVA-sensitized/challenged group,which received LFK orally for 6 weeks(LFK-fed group),and the non-sensitized group,which received saline for 6 weeks(saline control group).Nasal rubbing and sneezing were monitored during the study.After the final challenge,interleukin(IL)-4,interferon(IFN)-γ,and OVA-specific IgE levels in the sera and splenocyte culture supernatants were determined,eosinophilic infiltrate into the upper airway was quantified,and splenic CD4+CD25+ regulatory T cells(Tregs) were examined by flow cytometry.We found that nasal rubbing was significantly reduced in LFK-fed mice compared to the OVA group on d 27 and 35,and sneezing was significantly inhibited by LFK administration for 35 d.LFK-fed mice had significantly less eosinophil influx into the nasal mucosa than the OVA group.There were no significant differences between the LFK-fed group and OVA group in the serum and splenocyte culture supernatant levels of IL-4,IFN-γ,and OVA-specific IgE.Interestingly,the LFK-fed mice had a significantly greater percentage of splenic CD4+CD25+ Tregs than OVA group.Our results indicate that oral administration of LFK may alleviate nasal symptoms,reduce nasal eosinophilia,and increase the percentage of CD4+CD25+ Tregs in experimental allergic rhinitis. | Luping Zhu Takashi Shimada Ruoxi Chen Meiping Lu Qingzhao Zhang Wenmin Lu Min Yin Tadao Enomoto Lei Cheng | 2012 | The Journal of Biomedical Research2012,26,3: | 11 |
| 2 | Termination of Transcription of LAT Increases the Amounts of ICP0 mRNA but Does Not Alter the Course of HSV-1 Infection in Latently Infected Murine Ganglia显示文摘On entering sensory ganglia,herpes simplex viruses 1(HSV-1)establishes a latent infection with the synthesis of a latency associated transcript(LAT)or initiates productive infection with expression of a set of immediate early viral proteins.The precise mechanisms how expression of a genes is suppressed during the latency are unknown.One mechanism that has been proposed is illustrated in the case of ICP0,a key immediate early viral regulatory protein.Specifically,the 2 kb LAT intron is complementary to the 30 terminal portion of ICP0 m RNA.To test the hypothesis that accumulation of LAT negatively affects the accumulation of ICP0 m RNA,we inserted a DNA fragment encoding two poly(A)sequences into LAT to early terminate LAT transcript without interrupting the complementary sequence of ICP0 transcript(named as SR1603).Comparisons of the parent(SR1601)and mutant(SR1603)HSV-1 viruses showed the following:Neurons harboring latent SR1603 virus accumulated equivalent amounts of viral DNA but higher amounts of ICP0 m RNA and lower amounts of LAT,when compared to neurons harboring the SR1601 virus.One notable difference between the two viruses is that viral RNA accumulation in explanted ganglia harboring SR1603 virus initiated significantly sooner than that in neurons harboring SR1601 virus,suggesting that ICP0 may act as an activator of viral gene expression in permissive cells.Collectively,these data suggest that increased ICP0 m RNA by suppressed LAT did not affect the establishment of latency in latently infected murine ganglia. | Haifang Jiang Jiaming Wu Xianjie Liu Ruitao Lu Manling Zhou Meiling Chen Yonghong Liu Grace Guoying Zhou Wenmin Fu | 2021 | Virologica Sinica2021,36,2: | 2 |

| 7 | Paclitaxel liposome for injection (Lipusu) plus cisplatin versus gemcitabine plus cisplatin in the first-line treatment of locally advanced or metastatic lung squamous cell carcinoma: A multicenter, randomized, open-label, parallel controlled clinical study显示文摘Background:Lipusu is the first commercialized liposomal formulation of pacli-taxel and has demonstrated promising efficacy against locally advanced lung squamous cell carcinoma(LSCC)in a small-scale study.Here,we conducted a multicenter,randomized,phase 3 study to compare the efficacy and safety of cis-platin plus Lipusu(LP)versus cisplatin plus gemcitabine(GP)as first-line treat-ment in locally advanced or metastatic LSCC.Methods:Patients enrolled were aged between 18 to 75 years,had locally advanced(clinical stage IIIB,ineligible for concurrent chemoradiation or surgery)or metastatic(Stage IV)LSCC,had no previous systemic chemother-apy and at least one measurable lesion as per the Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors(version 1.1)before administration of the trial drug.The primary endpoint was progression-free survival(PFS).The secondary endpoints included objective response rate(ORR),disease control rate(DCR),overall survival(OS),and safety profiles.To explore the possible predictive value of plasma cytokines for LP treatment,plasma samples were collected from the LP group at baseline and first efficacy evaluation time and were then subjected to analysis by 45-Plex ProcartaPlex Panel 1 to detect the presence of 45 cytokines using the Luminex xMAP technology.The correlation between treatment outcomes and dynamic changes in the levels of cytokines were evaluated in preliminary analyses.Results:The median duration of follow-up was 15.4 months.237 patients in the LP group and 253 patients in the GP group were included in the per protocol set(PPS).In the PPS,the median PFS was 5.2 months versus 5.5 months in the LP and GP group(hazard rtio[HR]:1.03,P=0.742)respectively.The median OS was 14.6 months versus 12.5 months in the LP and GP group(HR:0.83,P=0.215).The ORR(41.8%versus 45.9%,P=0.412)and DCR(90.3%versus 88.1%,P=0.443)were also similar between the LP and GP group.A significantly lower proportion of patients in the LP group experienced adverse events(AEs)leading to treatment interruptions(10.9%versus 26.4%,P<0.001)or treatment termination(14.3%versus 23.1%,P=0.011).The analysis of cytokine levels in the LP group showed that low baseline levels of 27 cytokines were associated with an increased ORR,and 15 cytokines were associated with improved PFS,with 14 cytokines,including TNF-a,IFN-y,IL-6,and IL-8,demonstrating an overlapping trend.Conclusion:The LP regimen demonstrated similar PFS,OS,ORR and DCR as the GP regimen for patients with locally advanced or metastatic LSCC but had more favorable toxicity profiles.The study also identified a spectrum of different cytokines that could be potentially associated with the clinical benefit in patients who received the LP regimen. | Jie Zhang Yueyin Pan Qin Shi Guojun Zhang Liyan Jiang Xiaorong Dong Kangsheng Gu Huijuan Wang Xiaochun Zhang Nong Yang Yuping Li Jianping Xiong Tienan Yi Min Peng Yong Song Yun Fan Jiuwei Cui Gongyan Chen Wei Tan Aimin Zang Qisen Guo Guangqiang Zhao Ziping Wang Jianxing He Wenxiu Yao Xiaohong Wu Kai Chen Xiaohua Hu Chunhong Hu Lu Yue Da Jiang Guangfa Wang Junfeng Liu Guohua Yu Junling Li Jianling Bai Wenmin Xie Weihong Zhao Lihong Wu Caicun Zhou | 2022 | Cancer Communications2022,42,1: | 1 |
| 8 | Treatment for HIV prevention study in southwestern areas of China显示文摘Background:China has ambitious to achieve significant reductions in HIV transmission and HIV-related mortality by adopting the World Health Organization's“Treat All”approach.Such a prevention strategy is needed future study on regional scale.Methods:An observational cohort study of HIV epidemiology and treatment databases was used to study the effectiveness of antiretroviral therapy on the transmission of HIV in serodiscordant couples in Guangxi of China.Results:A total of 7713 couples were entered into the cohort study analysis which included 1885 couples in the treatment-naive cohort and 5828 couples in the treated cohort.During the follow-up of 18985.29 person-years from 2003 to 2014,the average incidence of HIV was 2.4 per 100 person-years(95%CI 2.1e2.6).HIV seroincidence rate was significantly higher among the treatment naive group(4.2 per 100 person-years,3.7e4.8)compared with the on treatment group(1.6 per 100 person-years,1.3e1.8).An overall 45%reduction in risk of HIV transmission among serodiscordant couple was associated with ART treatment(adjusted Hazard Ratio[HR]0.55,95%Confidence Interval[CI]0.44e0.69).Treatment prevention had significantly effectiveness for most baseline characteristics of index partners,such as for male,female,age above 25 years,education below high school,farmer,infected by heterosexual intercourse.Conclusion:Treatment-as-prevention can be implemented in the real-world on a national or regional scale,but ART adherence and comprehensive harm reduction while implementing this strategy require further study. | Huanhuan Chen Xiaoyi Yang Qiuying Zhu Xinghua Wu Li Chen Huaxiang Lu Liuhong Luo Guanghua Lan Xianming Ge Zhenzhu Tang Zhiyong Shen Stephen WPan Hui Xing Yuhua Ruan Yiming Shao Wenmin Yang | 2018 | Infectious Disease Modelling2018,3,1: | 1 |
| 9 | Partial discharge characteristics of an air gap defect in the epoxy resin of a saturable reactor under an exponential decay pulse voltage显示文摘Saturable reactor insulation is currently stressed by an exponential decay pulse voltage under normal operating conditions.The partial discharge(PD)characteristics of epoxy resin under an exponential decay pulse voltage were studied here and were compared at 25 and 110℃.In addition,this study compares these PD characteristics with those under a sinusoidal voltage to better measure the insulation design margin of the saturable reactor under an exponential decay pulse voltage.Finally,this study explains the PD mechanism based on the three-capacitor circuit model and space charge accumulation.Compared with the sinusoidal voltage,a higher amplitude,a higher inception voltage and fewer PDs are obtained under the pulse voltage.The reason may be related to the accumulation of space charge.Due to the duality of the space charge effect,the promotion effect of space charge accumulation on the PD under the pulse voltage is dominant,and an increase in temperature will weaken the promotion effect.In contrast,the inhibitory effect of space charge accumulation on the PD under the sinusoidal voltage is dominant.The experimental results can provide a basis for the optimal design of saturable reactor insulation under an exponential decay pulse voltage. | Lu Gui Yan Mi Shengchu Deng Lulu Liu Xin Ge Wenmin Ouyang | 2020 | High Voltage2020,5,4: | 1 |

| 12 | Evaluation of satellite land surface albedo products over China using ground-measurements显示文摘Land surface albedo(LSA)is an important parameter in surface energy balance and global climate change.It has been used in the fields of energy budgets,climate dynamics,and land surface processes.To apply satellite LSA products more widely,the product accuracy needs to be evaluated at different scales and under atmospheric and surface conditions.This study validates and analyzes the errors of the LSA datasets from the Global LAnd Surface Satellites(GLASS)product,the European Space Agency’s Earth Observation Envelope Programme(GlobAlbedo),the Quality Assurance for Essential Climate Variables(QA4ECV)project,the Gap-filled Snow-free Bidirectional Reflectance Distribution Function(BRDF)parameters product(MCD43GF),and the Satellite Application Facility on Climate Monitoring(CM SAF)Albedo dataset from the AVHRR data(CLARA-SAL)against the Chinese Ecosystem Research Network(CERN)measurements at different spatiotemporal scales over China from 2005 to 2015.The results show that LSA estimated by GLASS agrees well with the CERN measurements on a continental scale.The GLASS product is characterized by a correlation coefficient of 0.80,a root-mean-square error of 0.09,and a mean absolute error of 0.06.The consistency between GLASS,GlobAlbedo,and CLARA-SAL is slightly lower over the regions with high aerosol optical depth(AOD)(e.g.Sichuan Basin,northern China)and high cloud cover compared with that in regions with lower AOD and low cloud cover.The estimation errors are related to varying atmospheric and surface conditions and increase with increasing AOD and cloud cover and decreasing enhanced vegetation index.Therefore,algorithms under complex atmospheric and surface conditions(e.g.high AOD,sparse vegetation)should be optimized to improve the accuracy of LSA products. | Yunbo Lu Lunche Wang Bo Hu Ming Zhang Wenmin Qin Jiaojiao Zhou Minghui Tao | 2021 | International Journal of Digital Earth2021,14,11: | 0 |
| 13 | A metal ions-mediated natural small molecules carrier-free injectable hydrogel achieving laser-mediated photo-Fenton-like anticancer therapy by synergy apoptosis/cuproptosis/anti-inflammation显示文摘Tumor microenvironment (TME) plays an important role in the tumorigenesis, proliferation, invasion and metastasis. Thereby developing synergistic anticancer strategies with multiple mechanisms are urgent. Copper is widely used in the treatment of tumor chemodynamic therapy (CDT) due to its excellent laser-mediated photo- Fenton-like reaction. Additionally, copper can induce cell death through cuproptosis, which is a new modality different from the known death mechanisms and has great promise in tumor treatment. Herein, we report a natural small molecules carrier-free injectable hydrogel (NCTD Gel) consisted of Cu2+-mediated self-assembled glycyrrhizic acid (GA) and norcantharidin (NCTD), which are mainly governed by coordination and hydrogen bonds. Under 808 nm laser irradiation, NCTD Gel can produce reactive oxygen species (ROS), consume glutathione (GSH) and overcome hypoxia in TME, leading to synergistically regulate TME via apoptosis, cuproptosis and anti-inflammation. In addition, NCTD Gel’s CDT display high selectivity and good biocompatibility as it relies on the weak acidity and H2O2 overexpression of TME. Notably, NCTD Gel’s components are originated from clinical agents and its preparation process is easy, green and economical, without any excipients.
