| 1 | Blockage of transforming growth factor β receptors prevents progression of pig serum-induced rat liver fibrosis显示文摘AIM: To test the hypothesis that introduction of antisense TβR Ⅰ and TβR Ⅱ eukaryotic expressing plasmids into a rat model of immunologically induced liver fibrosis might block the action of TGF-β1 and halt the progression of liver fibrosis. METHODS: RT-Nest-PCR and gene recombination techniques were used to construct rat antisense TβR Ⅰ and TβR Ⅱ recombinant plasmids which could be expressed in eukaryotic cells. The recombinant plasmids and empty vector (pcDNA3) were encapsulated by glycosyl-poly-L-lysine and then transducted into rats of pig serum-induced liver fibrosis model. Expression of exogenously transfected gene was assessed by Northern blot, and hepatic expressions of TβR Ⅰ and TβR Ⅱ were evaluated by RT-PCR and Western blot.We also performed ELISA for serum TGF-β1, hydroxyproline of hepatic tissues, immunohistochemistry for collagen types Ⅰ and Ⅲ, and VG staining for pathological study of the liver tissues. RESULTS: The exogenous antisense TβR Ⅰ and TβR Ⅱ plasmids could be well expressed in vivo, and block mRNA and protein expression of TβR Ⅰ and TβR Ⅱ in the fibrotic liver at the level of mRNA respectively. These exogenous plasmid expressions reduced the level of TGF-β1 (antisense TβR Ⅰ group 23.998+3.045 ng/mL, antisense TβR Ⅱ group 23.156+3.131 ng/mL, disease control group 32.960+3.789 ng/mL; F-=-38.19, 36.73, P<0.01). Compared with disease control group, the contents of hepatic hydroxyproline (antisense TβR Ⅰ group 0.169+0.015 mg/g liver, antisense TβR Ⅱ group 0.167+0.009 mg/g liver, disease control group 0.296+0.026 mg/g liver; F=14.39, 15.48, P<0.01) and the deposition of collagen types Ⅰ and Ⅲ decreased in the two antisense treatment groups(antisense TβR Ⅰ group, collagen type Ⅰ 669.90+50.67, collagen type Ⅲ 657.29+49.48; antisense TβR Ⅱ group, collagen type Ⅰ 650.26+51.51, collagen type Ⅲ 661.58+55.28; disease control group, collagen type I 1209.44+116.60, collagen type Ⅲ 1175.14+121.44; F=15.48 to 74.89, P<0.01). Their expression also improved the pathologic classification of liver fibrosis models (compared with disease control group, X^2=17.14, 17.24, P<0.01). No difference was found in the level of TGF-β1, the contents of hepatic hydroxyproline and collagen types Ⅰ and Ⅲ and pathologic grade between pcDNA3 control group and disease control group or between the two antisense treatment groups (F=0.11 to1.06, X^2=0.13 to 0.16, P>0.05). | 3 | Discharge Characteristics of Long SF6 Gas Gap with and Without Insulator in GIS Under VFTO and LI显示文摘Gas insulator switchgears(GISs),widely used in electric power systems for decades,have many advantages due to their compactness,minimal environmental impact,and long maintenance cycles.However,very fast transient overvoltage(VFTO)increases caused by a rise in voltage levels can lead to GIS insulation failures.In this paper,a generating system of VFTO and standard lightning impulse(LI)is established.The insulation characteristics of SF6 gas with and without insulators under VFTO and standard LI are investigated.Experimental results show that the 50%breakdown voltages of the inhomogeneous electric field rod-plane gap under positive VFTO and standard LI are higher than that under negative VFTO and standard LI.The research shows that the 50%breakdown voltage under VFTO could be lower than that under standard LI at 0.5 MPa for the negative polarity.Moreover,the polarity effect of the insulator without defect is different from that with defect.Similarly,the breakdown voltage of the defective insulator under VFTO could be lower than that under standard LI by 8%.The flashover channel under VFTO is seen as more than that under standard LI.Based on the analysis of discharge images and experimental results,it is concluded that the polarity effect is related to the distortion effect of ion clusters formed by SF6 on the electric field.Additionally,the steepness and front time of impulse plays an important role in the initiation and further development of discharge on insulator surface.Finally,the research shows that different discharge characteristics between VFTO and standard LI may be caused by different wave fronts and oscillation on the tails of the impulses. | Tao Wen Qiaogen Zhang Jingtan Ma Can Guo Haoyang You Yifan Qin Yu Yin Weidong Shi Weijiang Chen | 2015 | CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems2015,1,3: | 17 |
| 4 | Characteristics of Long Air Gap Discharge Current Subjected to Switching Impulse显示文摘Measuring the pre-breakdown current of long sparks in air is important for investigating the discharge mechanism.Since the breakdown of long air gaps is conducted by a series of streamer-leader processes,the corresponding current signals cover a bandwidth of 0 to more than 20 MHz.Measurement accuracy of the current from the high voltage side is affected by the displacement current and impulse electromagnetic interference.In this paper,a coaxial current sensor with a DC bandwidth of 74.45 MHz is developed.A displacement current-restrained electrode structure is proposed to reduce the equivalent capacitance between the current sensor and the ground over 30 times.Combined with the digital optical fiber synchronous acquisition unit,a current measurement system for long air gap discharge is established.For the purpose of the UHV system’s external insulation optimization design,the discharge current waveform of a 6 m rod-plane air gap under positive switching impulse voltage with 250µs and 1000µs time to crest is obtained.Discharge images and stressed voltage are combined to analyze the continuous feature of a current waveform under critical time to crest impulse and discontinuous feature under long front duration impulse.For the purposes of a lightning protection study,the current waveform of a 10 m rod-plane air gap is subjected to negative switching impulse.Finally,the pulse characteristics of the current corresponding to the single channel and branching stepped negative leader are discussed. | Yishi Yue Hengxin He Weijiang Chen Junjia He Chuanqi Wu Xiangen Zhao Feng Huo | 2015 | CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems2015,1,3: | 13 |
| 5 | Knockdown of OsHox33, a member of the class III homeodomain-leucine zipper gene family, accelerates leaf senescence in rice显示文摘The class III homeodomain-leucine zipper(HD-Zip III)gene family plays important roles in plant growth and development,including regulation of apical embryo patterning,embryonic shoot meristem formation,leaf polarity,vascular development,and meristem function,with a particularly crucial function in leaf development.Although HD-Zip III members are highly conserved in land plants,previous studies,such as genetic analyses based on multiple mutants in Arabidopsis and other plants,suggest that various HD-Zip III family genes have evolved with distinct functions and pleiotropic effects on plant growth and development.In this study,we analyzed a HD-Zip III member,OsHox33,and demonstrated that it plays an important role in age-dependent leaf senescence in rice.We constructed two specific RNAi vectors derived from the 5′-end region and 3′-UTR of OsHox33 to knockdown its expression.Transgenic plants harboring either RNAi construct displayed similar phenotypes of precocious leaf senescence symptoms,suggesting that knockdown of OsHox33 accelerates leaf senescence in rice.pOsHox33::GUS fusion expression and RT-PCR revealed that OsHox33 is highly expressed in young organs,especially in young meristems such as shoot apical meristems,intercalary meristems,and young callus.In addition,real-time PCR indicated that OsHox33 was more highly expressed in young leaves than in old leaves.To further investigate OsHox33 function,we analyzed chloroplast ultrastructure in different-aged leaves of RNAi plants,and found that OsHox33 knockdown accelerated chloroplast degradation,which is consistent with RNAi phenotypes.Finally,real-time PCR studies showed that OsHox33 can regulate the expression of GS1 and GS2,two senescence-associated genes.Taken together,the work presented here provides new insights into the function of HD-Zip III members in plants. | LUAN WeiJiang SHEN Ao JIN ZhiPing SONG SuSheng LI ZhengLong SHA AiHua | 2013 | Science China(Life Sciences)2013,56,12: | 13 |
| 6 | Performance and mechanism of Cr(Ⅵ)removal by zero-valent iron loaded onto expanded graphite显示文摘Zero-valent iron(ZⅥ) was loaded on expanded graphite(EG) to produce a composite material(EG-ZⅥ) for efficient removal of hexavalent chromium(Cr(Ⅵ)). EG and EG-ZⅥ were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM),Fourier-transform infrared(FTIR) spectroscopy and Brunauer–Emmett–Teller(BET) analysis. EG-ZⅥ had a high specific surface area and contained sub-micron sized particles of zero-valent iron. Batch experiments were employed to evaluate the Cr(Ⅵ) removal performance. The results showed that the Cr(Ⅵ) removal rate was 98.80% for EG-ZⅥ,which was higher than that for both EG(10.00%) and ZⅥ(29.80%). Furthermore, the removal rate of Cr(Ⅵ) by EG-ZⅥ showed little dependence on solution p H within a p H range of 1–9.Even at pH 11, a Cr(Ⅵ) removal rate of 62.44% was obtained after reaction for 1 hr. EG-ZⅥ could enhance the removal of Cr(Ⅵ) via chemical reduction and physical adsorption,respectively. | 7 | Laboratory tests and numerical simulations of brittle marble and squeezing schist at Jinping II hydropower station,China显示文摘Four 16.7 km-long tunnels with diameters ranging from 12.4 to 14.6 m are now under construction at Jinping II hydropower station along the Yalong River.The tunnels pass through Triassic rocks below Jinping Mountain.The tunnels are characterized with high overburden,long alignment and complex geological conditions.Brittle failure in marble and squeezing in schist are the primary problems in tunnelling.This paper introduces the studies of laboratory tests on Jinping II marble as well as numerical prediction of excavation damaged zone (EDZ) of tunnel section in brittle marble and determination of reinforced concrete lining thickness for restraining time-dependent deformation in the schist tunnel section.Laboratory tests indicate that Jinping II marble presents a complex brittle-ductile-plastic transition behavior of post-peak response with increasing confining pressure.Such behavior can be described numerically with the Hoek-Brown model.The EDZ was calibrated and predicted using both fast Lagrangian analysis of continua (FLAC) and particle flow code (PFC).The predicted result of EDZ in sections with different qualities of rock mass under various overburden pressures is quite helpful in understanding EDZ characterization and support design.A power-law creep model was used to support the lining design,especially in determining the lining thickness.Field convergence measurement data over 19 months were used to calibrate the creep model properties,followed by a sensibility analysis of reinforced concrete lining thickness that was launched to present the maximum lining compressive stress. | Chunsheng Zhang,Weijiang Chu,Ning Liu,Yongsheng Zhu,Jing Hou East China Investigation and Design Institute,China Hydropower Engineering Consulting Group Co.,Hangzhou,310014,China | 2011 | Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2011,3,1: | 10 |
| 8 | Surveillance of Noise Exposure Level in the Manufacturing Industry—China,2020显示文摘Introduction:Occupational noise exposure is a widespread issue in the manufacturing industry in China.Since 2019,the National Surveillance System for Occupational Hazards in the workplace was established to understand different occupational hazards,especially occupational noise,in workplaces in China.Methods:Both environmental and individual noise exposure levels were measured for 19,378 enterprises according to the Work Plan for Surveillance of Occupational Hazards in the Workplace(2020)issued by National Health Commission of the People’s Republic of China.Median and interquartile range(IQR)were calculated to describe the distribution of the noise exposure level by industry classification,enterprise-scale,and ownership type of the enterprise.Results:Overall,25.14%of the individual noise exposure samples exceeded the Chinese national standard among the selected enterprises.The overall median of environmental noise exposure level was 82.8 dB(A)in selected enterprises,while the median of individual noise exposure level was 81.3 dB(A).The individual noise exposure level in the manufacture of metal products,manufacture of motor vehicles,minisized enterprises,collective enterprises and private enterprises was relatively high.Conclusion:Occupational noise is still one of the occupational hazards that cannot be ignored in the manufacturing industry,especially in mini-sized and private enterprises.The risk of noise exposure in the target industry is still high and will pose a threat to the health of workers. | Jinnan Zheng Siyu Zhang Hongfei Wang Yue Yu Weijiang Hu | 2021 | China CDC weekly2021,3,43: | 9 |
| 9 | Research and application of UHV power transmission in China显示文摘The power demand increases rapidly in China;however,the areas of huge power demands are of long distance from most areas of abundant energy resource in the country.Therefore,China put in great effort to develop ultrahigh voltage(UHV)power transmission systems to optimise its energy allocation.This includes(i)systematically developing key technologies such as overvoltage suppression,external insulation design,and electromagnetic environment control,and(ii)developing key equipment such as UHV alternative current(UHVAC)transformers,circuit breakers,and series compensated equipment,and UHV direct current(UHVDC)converter transformers,smoothing reactors,converter valves,and DC transmission control and protection systems.Eight AC UHV projects and 11 DC UHV projects have been built in China,which play an important role in the optimal allocation of energy.Plus there are one more UHVAC and three more UHVDC transmission projects in construction,while UHVAC gas-insulated lines will be applied in the UHVAC line crossover the Yangtze River and the±1100 kV UHVDC power transmission technology is in development.Here,the development and application of UHV power transmission technologies in China are described,some main challenges the UHV projects encountered are discussed,and experiences obtained from the operation of UHV systems are introduced.It is concluded that China obtained mature experience in developing,constructing,and operating UHV systems and successfully realised long-distance,large-capacity power transmission,and the UHV power transmission technology has become an important measure for energy allocation in large areas. | Yinbiao Shu Weijiang Chen | 2018 | High Voltage2018,3,1: | 8 |
| 10 | Synthesis of Enriched 10B Boric Acid of Nuclear Grade显示文摘An economic and effective method of preparing enriched 10B boric acid was established by chemical reactionof enriched 10BF3 and CaCO3. A process of boron trifluoride reacting with water was investigated under certainconditions. Calcium carbonate was selected to counteract hydrofluoric acid followed on. Some key operation factorswere investigated, such as temperature, reaction time and the ratio of CaCO3 to 10BF3. The results showed that the yieldof enriched 10B boric acid could reach 97. 2% and the purity was up to 94. 1% under the following conditions: the temperaturewas 50-60,℃, the reaction time was 28 h and the ratio of CaCO3 to 10BF3 was 4. | 11 | A pair of light signaling factors FHY3 and FAR1 regulates plant immunity by modulating chlorophyll biosynthesis显示文摘Light and chloroplast function is known to affect the plant immune response; however, the underlying mechanism remains elusive. We previously demonstrated that two light signaling factors, FAR-RED ELONGATED HYPOCOTYL 3(FHY3)and FAR-RED IMPAIRED RESPONSE 1(FAR1), regulate chlorophyll biosynthesis and seedling growth via controlling HEMB1 expression in Arabidopsis thaliana. In this study, we reveal that FHY3 and FAR1 are involved in modulating plant immunity. We showed that the fhy3 far1 double null mutant displayed high levels of reactive oxygen species and salicylic acid(SA) and increased resistance to Pseudomonas syringae pathogen infection. Microarray analysis revealed that a large proportion of pathogen-related genes, particularly genes encoding nucleotide-binding and leucine-rich repeat domain resistant proteins, are highly induced in fhy3 far1. Genetic studies indicated that the defects of fhy3 far1 can be largely rescued by reducing SA signaling or blocking SA accumulation, and by overexpression of HEMB1, which encodes a 5-aminolevulinic acid dehydratase in the chlorophyll biosynthetic pathway.Furthermore, we found that transgenic plants with reduced expression of HEMB1 exhibit a phenotype similar to fhy3 far1.Taken together, this study demonstrates an important role of FHY3 and FAR1 in regulating plant immunity, through integrating chlorophyll biosynthesis and the SA signaling pathway. | Wanqing Wang Weijiang Tang Tingting Ma De Niu Jing Bo Jin Haiyang Wang Rongcheng Lin | 2016 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2016,58,1: | 8 |

| 16 | Xuefuzhuyu decoction for hyperlipidemia: a systematic review and Meta-analysis of randomized clinical trails显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Xuefuzhuyu decoction for hyperlipidemia.METHODS:Randomized clinical trials on hyperlipidemia treated by Xuefuzhuyu decoction,either alone or with Western Medicine,were searched in electronic databases.Databases searched were:MEDLINE,Allied and Complementary Medicine Database,EMBASE,The Cochrane Library 2013(Issue4),China National Knowledge Infrastructure Database,Chinese Biomedical Literature Database,and Wanfang Database up to 2 May,2013.Study selection,data extraction,quality assessment,and data analysis were conducted according to the Cochranestandards.RESULTS:Six randomized clinical trials involving748 patients(373 patients in the treatment group,375 patients in the control group)were included in the analysis.The studies were of low methodological quality.Meta-analysis indicated that the effect of Xuefuzhuyu decoction on hyperlipidemia was better than that in the control group[n=748,OR=5.07,95%CI(3.40,7.58),P<0.01].Weighted mean differencesin total cholesterol,low-densitylipoprotein cholesterol,triglycerides,and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol were﹣0.79,﹣0.74,﹣0.44,0.16,respectively,and Meta-analysis revealed that the treatment group was better than the control group with 95%CI(﹣1.21,﹣0.36),(﹣0.94,﹣0.55),(﹣0.77,﹣0.11),(0.04,0.27),respectively(all P<0.05).Some adverse events in evaluated studies wererecorded.CONCLUSION:Xuefuzhuyu decoction may be effective for treating hyperlipidemia.The studies we analyzed were of low methodological quality,which indicates that the above findings should be considered cautiously.Therefore,more strictly designed large-scale randomized clinical trials are needed to evaluate the efficacy of Xuefuzhuyu decoction in hyperlipidemia. | Jiangquan Liao Jiaxing Tian Tengfei Li Weijiang Song Weihan Zhao Jinhang Du | 2014 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2014,34,4: | 5 |
| 17 | Interaction between temperature and photoperiod in regulation of flowering time in rice显示文摘Photoperiod and temperature are two pivotal regulatory factors of plant flowering.The floral transition of plants depends on accurate measurement of changes in photoperiod and temperature.The flowering time of rice(Oryza sativa) as a facultative short-day(SD) plant is delayed under long-day(LD) and/or low temperature conditions.To elucidate the regulatory functions of photoperiod and temperature on flowering time in rice,we systematically analyzed the expression and regulation of several key genes(Hd3a,RFT1,Ehd1,Ghd7,RID1/Ehd2/OsId1,Se5) involved in the photoperiodic flowering regulatory pathway under different temperature and photoperiod treatments using a photoperiod-insensitive mutant and wild type plants.Our results indicate that the Ehd1-Hd3a/RFT1 pathway is common to and conserved in both the photoperiodic and temperature flowering regulatory pathways.Expression of Ehd1,Hd3a and RFT1 is dramatically reduced at low temperature(23°C),suggesting that suppression of Ehd1,Hd3a and RFT1 transcription is an essential cause of delayed flowering under low temperature condition.Under LD condition,Ghd7 mRNA levels are promoted at low temperature(23°C) compared with normal temperature condition(28°C),suggesting low temperature and LD treatment have a synergistic role in the expression of Ghd7.Therefore,upregulation of Ghd7 might be a crucial cause of delayed flowering under low temperature condition.We also analyzed Hd1 regulatory relationships in the photoperiodic flowering pathway,and found that Hd1 can negatively regulate Ehd1 transcription under LD condition.In addition,Hd1 can also positively regulate Ghd7 transcription under LD condition,suggesting that the heading-date of rice under LD condition is also regulated by the Hd1-Ghd7-Ehd1-RFT1 pathway. | SONG YuanLi GAO ZhiChao LUAN WeiJiang | 2012 | Science China(Life Sciences)2012,55,3: | 5 |
| 18 | Extensive profiling of the expressions of tRNAs and tRNA-derived fragments(tRFs)reveals the complexities of tRNA and tRF populations in plants显示文摘Evidence is emerging that t RNA-derived fragments(t RFs)are regulatory molecules.Studies of t RFs in plants have been based on conventional small RNA sequencing,and focused on profiling of t RF-5 and t RF-3 species.A more comprehensive and quantitative analysis of the entire t RF population is highly necessary.Here,we employ t RNA-seq and YAMAT-seq,and develop a bioinformatics tool to comprehensively profile the expressions of t RNAs and t RFs in plants.We show that in Arabidopsis,approximately half of t RNA genes are extremely weakly expressed,accounting for only 1%of total t RNA abundance,while~12%of t RNA genes contribute to~80%of t RNA abundance.Our t RNA sequencings in various plants reveal that t RNA expression profiles exhibit a cross-species conserved pattern.By characterizing the composition of a highly heterogeneous t RF population,we show that t RNA halves and previously unnoticed 10–16-nt tiny t RFs represent substantial portions.The highly accumulated 13-nt and 16-nt tiny t RFs in Arabidopsis indicate that tiny t RFs are not random t RNA degradation products.Finally,we provide a user-friendly database for displaying the dynamic spatiotemporal expressions of t RNAs and t RFs in the model plants Arabidopsis and rice. | Xuan Ma Chunyan Liu Xiaocong Kong Jing Liu Siju Zhang Shanshan Liang Weijiang Luan Xiaofeng Cao | 2021 | Science China(Life Sciences)2021,64,4: | 5 |
