| 1 | Microstructure evolution of a hypereutectic Nb–Ti–Si–Cr–Al–Hf alloy processed by directional solidification显示文摘In this work, the Nb–14Si–24Ti–10Cr–2Al–2Hf–0.1Y alloy(at.%) was processed by the liquid–metal-cooled directional solidification(DS) at 1750 C with withdrawal rates of 1.2, 6,18 mm/min and post heat treatment(HT) at 1450 C for 10 h. The microstructures of the directionally solidified and heat treated samples were investigated. The results show that the microstructure of directionally solidified alloy mainly consists of petaloid Nbss+ Nb5Si3eutectics and Ti-rich Nbss+ Nb5Si3+ Cr2Nb eutectics. With the increase of withdrawal rate, the primary Nb5Si3is eliminated, Nbss+ Nb5Si3eutectic cells turn round and connected with the microstructure refinement and Nbss+ Nb5Si3+ Cr2Nb eutectics turn to a river-like morphology. After heat treatment,Nbss+ Nb5Si3+ Cr2Nb eutectics disappeared and petaloid Nbss+ Nb5Si3eutectics turn to a specific fiber-mesh structure gradually, which is promoted by higher withdrawal rates. | 2 | Short-term link quality prediction using nonparametric time series analysis显示文摘Wireless link quality prediction(LQP) is the foundation for proactive operations and is therefore a key technique in alleviating network performance degradation. However, accurate LQP is difficult because of the dynamic nature of wireless environments. A recent study found that fluctuations in intermediate quality links often show dynamics on a sub-second granularity, making the task even more challenging. In order to leverage the intermediate links, as well as fine-tune upper-layer protocols, we propose to use nonparametric modeling in nonlinear time series analysis that predicts short-term link quality online. Unlike existing studies,we do not define any new experimental or hypothetical models, or train models using a set of training data.Functional-coefficient autoregression is employed to predict the link dynamics at high time resolutions. We apply our approach and a local linear regression-based LQP(a typical parametric modeling approach) to both NS-2 simulation and empirical packet traces. | 3 | Improving the Unconfined Compressive Strength of Red Clay by Combining Biopolymers with Fibers显示文摘To explore an environmentally friendly improvement measure for red clay,the function and mechanism of xanthan gum biopolymer and polypropylene fibers on the strength properties of red clay were investigated by unconfined compressive strength and scanning electron microscopy tests.The test results demonstrated that the contents and curing ages of xanthan gum had significant influences on the unconfined compressive strength of red clay.Compared with untreated soil,1.5%xanthan gum content was the optimal ratio in which the strength increment was between 41.52 kPa and 64.73 kPa.On the other hand,the strength of xanthan gum-treated red clay increased,whereas the ductility decreased with the increase in curing ages,indicating that the xanthan gum-treated red clay started to gradually consolidate after 3 days of curing and stiffness significantly improved between 7 and 28 days of curing.The results also showed that the synergistic consolidation effects of the xanthan gum–polypropylene fibers could not only effectively enhance the strength of red clay but also reduce the brittle failure phenomenon.The strengths of soil treated with 2.0%xanthan gum-polypropylene fibers were 1.9–2.41 and 1.12–1.47 times than that of red clay and 1.5%xanthan gum-treated clay,respectively.The results of study provide the related methods and experiences for the field of ecological soil treatment. | Zhiyu Weng Lina Wang Qiang Liu Xuemin Pan Yonghao Xu Jing Li | 2021 | Journal of Renewable Materials2021,9,8: | 2 |

| 6 | A field-deployable method for single and multiplex detection of DNA or RNA from pathogens using Cas12 and Cas13显示文摘For some Cas nucleases,trans-cleavage activity triggered by CRISPR/Cas-mediated cis-cleavage upon target nucleic acid recognition has been explored for diagnostic detection.Portable single and multiplex nucleic acid-based detection is needed for crop pathogen management in agriculture.Here,we harnessed and characterized RfxCas13d as an additional CRISPR/Cas nucleic acid detection tool.We systematically characterized AsCas12a,LbCas12a,LwaCas13a,and RfxCas13d combined with isothermal amplification to develop a CRISPR/Cas nucleic acid-based tool for single or multiplex pathogen detection.Our data indicated that sufficient detection sensitivity was achieved with just a few copies of DNA/RNA targets as input.Using this tool,we successfully detected DNA from Fusarium graminearum and Fusarium verticillioides and RNA from rice black-streaked dwarf virus in crude extracts prepared in the field.Our method,from sample preparation to result readout,could be rapidly and easily deployed in the field.This system could be extended to other crop pathogens,including those that currently lack a detection method and have metabolite profiles that make detection challenging.This nucleic acid detection system could also be used for single-nucleotide polymorphism genotyping,transgene detection,and qualitative detection of gene expression in the field. | Lina Li Canxing Duan Jianfeng Weng Xiantao Qi Changlin Liu Xinhai Li Jinjie Zhu Chuanxiao Xie | 2022 | Science China(Life Sciences)2022,65,7: | 1 |

| 9 | Insight of unresolved complex mixtures of saturated hydrocarbons in heavy oil via GC×GC-TOFMS analysis显示文摘The saturated hydrocarbon fraction of a heavily biodegraded crude oil from Liaohe oilfield was analyzed by using comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography coupled with time-of-flight mass spectrometry (GC×GC-TOFMS). The 'humps', which was termed as unresolved complex mixtures (UCMs) in conventional gas chromatographic analysis, was separated for identification of the individual compound. Main compounds of UCMs were identified according to the combined information of characteristics of GC×GC chromatogram and time-of-flight mass spectra. It's found that UCMs are mainly composed of great number of ring compounds with extremely low concentration. The ring compounds are separated according to their boiling point diversity in the first dimension column, then to their polarity or ring number variety in the second dimension column. In the sample there are two groups of UCMs, i.e., the first group compounds with boiling point lower that of C24 and the second group compounds with boiling point higher than that of C24. The first group of UCMs mainly consists of monocyclic, bicyclic and tricyclic ring compounds. The first group of UCMs is mainly composed of saturated hydrocarbons, in which the percentage of ring compounds with signal-to-noise ratio above 100 is about 75% of the total quantity of saturated hydrocarbon, while its mass is over 80% of the total saturated hydrocarbon. The second group of UCMs is mainly composed of tetracyclic and pentacyclic ring compounds, in which the percentage of UCM compounds with signal-to-noise ratio over 100 is about 17% of the total quantity of saturated hydrocarbon, and its mass is about 0.5% of the total saturated hydrocarbon. | 10 | The Drug-carrier Interactions, Release Behaviors and Cell Responses of Hydroxyapaptite Containing Several Chinese Medicines显示文摘The present work shows drug-carrier interactions, release behaviors and cell responses of hydroxyapatite (HA) containing salvianolic acid B (Sal B), astragalus polysaccharide (APS), and naringin. X-ray diffraction (XRD) showed that the crystallinity and crystal size of HA decreased significantly when Sal B was added (p<0.05). Transmission electron microscope (TEM) confirmed that the nano-acicular crystals of HA containing Sal B were the most fine among all specimens. It was conjectured that Sal B preferentially adsorbed on the positively charged surface of HA crystals to inhibit their growth. In vitro release of HA containing Chinese medicines followed the first-order equation. The drug-carrier affinity between HA and Sal B might have prolonged the release of Sal B. The proliferation and differentiation of osteoblasts were promoted by Chinese medicines containing HA in the time and dosage dependent manner. The osteoblasts displayed a polygonal morphology with cell-cell junctions in all cases.
