1World’s first spaceflight on-orbit demonstration of a flexible solar array system based on shape memory polymer composites显示文摘With a 10%reversible compressive strain in more than 10 deformation cycles,the shape memory polymer composites(SMPCs)could be used for deployable structure and releasing mechanism.In this paper,without traditional electro-explosive devices or motors/controllers,the deployable SMPC flexible solar array system(SMPC-FSAS)is studied,developed,ground-based tested,and finally on-orbit validated.The epoxy-based SMPC is used for the rolling-out variable-stiffness beams as a structural frame as well as an actuator for the flexible blanket solar array.The releasing mechanism is primarily made of the cyanate-based SMPC,which has a high locking stiffness to withstand 50 g gravitational acceleration and a large unlocking displacement of 10 mm.The systematical mechanical and thermal qualification tests of the SMPC-FSAS flight hardware were performed,including sinusoidal sweeping vibration,shocking,acceleration,thermal equilibrium,thermal vacuum cycling,and thermal cycling test.The locking function of the SMPC releasing mechanisms was in normal when launching aboard the SJ20 Geostationary Satellite on 27 Dec.,2019.The SMPC-FSAS flight hardware successfully unlocked and deployed on 5 Jan.,2020 on geostationary orbit.The triggering signal of limit switches returned to ground at the 139 s upon heating,which indicated the successful unlocking function of SMPC releasing mechanisms.A pair of epoxy-based SMPC rolled variable-stiffness tubes,which clapped the flexible blanket solar array,slowly deployed and finally approached an approximate 100%shape recovery ratio within 60 s upon heating.The study and on-orbit successful validation of the SMPC-FSAS flight hardware could accelerate the related study and associated productions to be used for the next-generation releasing mechanisms as well as space deployable structures,such as new releasing mechanisms with low-shocking,testability and reusability,and ultra-large space deployable solar arrays.LAN Xin LIU LiWu ZHANG FengHua LIU ZhengXian WANG LinLin LI QiFeng PENG Fan HAO SiDa DAI WenXu WAN Xue TANG Yong WANG Mian HAO YanYan YANG Yang YANG Cheng LIU YanJu LENG JinSong 2020Science China(Technological Sciences)2020,63,8:7
2Adding-Point Strategy for Reduced-Order Hypersonic Aerothermodynamics Modeling Based on Fuzzy Clustering显示文摘Reduced order models-ROMs) based on the snapshots on the CFD high-fidelity simulations have been paid great attention recently due to their capability of capturing the features of the complex geometries and flow configurations. To improve the efficiency and precision of the ROMs, it is indispensable to add extra sampling points to the initial snapshots, since the number of sampling points to achieve an adequately accurate ROM is generally unknown in prior, but a large number of initial sampling points reduces the parsimony of the ROMs. A fuzzy-clustering-based adding-point strategy is proposed and the fuzzy clustering acts an indicator of the region in which the precision of ROMs is relatively low. The proposed method is applied to construct the ROMs for the benchmark mathematical examples and a numerical example of hypersonic aerothermodynamics prediction for a typical control surface. 3Dynamic Stability Analysis of Linear Time-varying Systems via an Extended Modal Identification Approach显示文摘The problem of linear time-varying(LTV) system modal analysis is considered based on time-dependent state space representations, as classical modal analysis of linear time-invariant systems and current LTV system modal analysis under the ‘‘frozen-time'' assumption are not able to determine the dynamic stability of LTV systems.Time-dependent state space representations of LTV systems are first introduced, and the corresponding modal analysis theories are subsequently presented via a stabilitypreserving state transformation. The time-varying modes of LTV systems are extended in terms of uniqueness, and are further interpreted to determine the system's stability. An extended modal identification is proposed to estimate the time-varying modes, consisting of the estimation of the state transition matrix via a subspace-based method and the extraction of the time-varying modes by the QR decomposition. The proposed approach is numerically validated by three numerical cases, and is experimentally validated by a coupled moving-mass simply supported beam experimental case. 4Progress and challenges of prelithiation technology for lithium-ion battery显示文摘Prelithiation technology is widely considered a feasible route to raise the energy density and elongate the cycle life of lithium-ion batteries.The principle of prelithiation is to introduce extra active Li ions in the battery so that the lithium loss during the first charge and long-term cycling can be compensated.Such an effect does not need to change the major electrode material or battery structure and is compatible with the majority of current lithium-ion battery production lines.At this stage,various prelithiation methods have been reported,some of which are already in the pilot-scale production stage.But there is still no definitive development roadmap for prelithiation.In this review,we first introduce the influence of prelithiation on electrochemical performance from a theoretical point of view and then compare the pros and cons of different prelithiation methods in different battery manufacturing stages.Finally,we discuss the challenges and future development trends of prelithiation.We aim to build up a bridge between academic research and industrial application.Some engineering problems in the promotion of prelithiation technique are extensively discussed,including not only the implementation of prelithiation but also some collateral issues on battery designing and management.Zhenyu Huang Zhe Deng Yun Zhong Mingkang Xu Sida Li Xueting Liu Yu Zhou Kai Huang Yue Shen Yunhui Huang 2022Carbon Energy2022,4,6:1
5Laser-induced fluorescence:Progress and prospective for in vivo cancer diagnosis显示文摘Cancer diagnosis and treatment are of great interest due to the high death rate of cancer.To improve the cure rates of cancer,a diagnostic tool which can detect and treat cancer at initial stages is great needed.Laser-induced fluorescence(LIF) is an adequate analytical technique with advantages of high sensitivity,low sample consumption,short testing time,and suitable for in situ testing.Therefore,it has become one of the most widely used spectroscopic methods for cancer in vivo diagnosis in recent years.This review mainly focuses on the applications of in vivo LIF to distinguish premalignant,malignant from normal tissues in a variety of organ systems,such as lung breast,colon,cervix,esophagus,and bronchus.The potential influence factors for cancer diagnostics and the subsequent suitability of the method to different applications are well discussed.Meanwhile,the technical merits and weaknesses of the LIF technology for cancer diagnosis are also evaluated.Furthermore,different exogenous fluorophores,endogenous fluorophores,and fluorophores synthesized in the tissue are compared on their active principle and effect contrast.The technical potentials of LIF for further development and future applications are also presented as well in this review.LIU Wei ZHANG XiaoHe LIU KunPing ZHANG SiDa DUAN YiXiang 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,18:1
6Study on the detection method of holes in composite insulator rods显示文摘The holes in composite insulator rods are a type of quality defects.However,not all holes can be identified by the dye penetration test according to existing standards and some holes can cause abnormal heating of the composite insulator during operation.Micro‐computed tomography is used to study the structure of these holes.Based on the pore structure,the holes are classified as dependent or independent.The dependent hole is formed by several interconnected adjacent pores and the overlong equivalent penetration path makes it cannot be effectively identified by the standard dye penetration test.Considering the structure of the dependent hole,ethanol gas was used to increase the effectiveness of the dye penetration test.The experimental results show that the detection rate of dependent holes is approximately 80%as the ethanol concentration is close to saturation,and the porosity can be inferred based on the number of penetration points.Sida Zhang Li Cheng Yunfan Liu Ruijin Liao Tingting Wang Huan Huang 2021High Voltage2021,6,5:1
7An improved mixed total least squares method for strain inversion from distance changes显示文摘Based on the deficiency of the traditional total least squares method(TLS) in the field of geodetic inversion, the mixed error characteristics of the errors in variables(EIV) model were analyzed by considering the distance azimuth measurement error in strain inversion from distance changes, which resulted in the improved mixed total least squares method(IMTLS) with generalized mixed EIV model. Finally, three comparison schemes of strain inversion from distance changes using measured data were implemented to test the proposed method. 9Health Emergency and Disaster Risk Management (Health-EDRM) in Remote Ethnic Minority Areas of Rural China:The Case of a Flood-Prone Village in Sichuan显示文摘Remote,rural ethnic-minority communities face greater disaster-related public health risks due to their lack of resources and limited access to health care.The Ethnic Minority Health Project(EMHP) was initiated in 2009 to work with remote,disaster-prone ethnic-minority villages that live in extreme poverty.One of the project's aims is to develop and evaluate bottom-up health risk reduction efforts in emergency and disaster risk management(HealthEDRM).This article shares project updates and describes field intervention results from the Yi ethnic community of Hongyan village in China's Sichuan Province,an area that experiences recurrent floods.It was found that 64% of the village respondents had never considered any form of disaster preparation,even with the recurrent flood risks.Health intervention participants showed sustained knowledge retention and were nine times more likely to know the correct composition of oral rehydration solution(ORS) after the intervention.Participants also retained the improved knowledge on ORS and disaster preparedness kit ownership12 months after the intervention.Emily Ying Yang Chan Chunlan Guo Poyi Lee Sida Liu Carman Ka Man Mark 2017International Journal of Disaster Risk Science2017,8,2:1
10An Innovative State-of-charge Estimation Method of Lithium-ion Battery Based on 5th-order Cubature Kalman Filter显示文摘The lithium-ion batteries have drawn much attention as the major energy storage system.However,the battery state estimation still suffers from inaccuracy under dynamic operational conditions,with the unstable environmental noise influencing the robustness of estimation.This paper presents a 5th-order cubature Kalman filter with improvements on adaptivity for real-time state-of-charge estimation.The second-order equivalent circuit model is developed for describing the characteristics of battery,and parameter identification is carried out according to particle swarm optimization.The developed method is validated in stable and dynamic conditions,and simulation results show a satisfactory consistency with the experimental results.The maximum estimation error under static conditions is less than 3%and the maximum error under dynamic conditions is 5%.Numerical analysis indicates that the method has better convergence and robustness than the traditional method under the disturbances of initial error,which demonstrates the potential for EV applications in harsh environments.The proposed method shows application potential for both online estimations and cloud-computing system,indicating its diverse application prospect in electric vehicles.Huang Yi Shichun Yang Sida Zhou Xinan Zhou Xiaoyu Yan Xinhua Liu 2021Automotive Innovation2021,4,4:1
11Mineralogical characteristics,metallurgical properties and phase structure evolution of Ca-rich hematite sintering显示文摘In order to study the sintering characteristics of Ca-rich iron ore,chemical analysis,laser diffraction,scanning electron microscopy,XRD-Rietveld method,and micro-sintering were used to analyze the mineralogical properties and sintering pot tests were used to study the sintering behavior.In addition,a grey correlation mathematical model was used to calculate and compare the comprehensive sintering performance under different calcium-rich iron ore contents.The results demonstrate that the Ca-rich iron ore has coarse grain size and strong self-fusing characteristics with Ca element in the form of calcite(CaCO_(3)) and the liquid phase produced by the self-fusing of the calcium-rich iron ore is well crystallized.Its application with a 20wt%content in sintering improves sinter productivity,reduces fuel consumption,enhances reduction index,and improves gas permeability in blast furnace by 0.45 t/(m^(2)·h),6.11 kg/t,6.17%,and 65.39 kPa·℃,respectively.The Ca-rich iron ore sintering can improve the calorific value of sintering flue gas compared with magnetite sintering,which is conducive to recovering heat for secondary use.As the content of the Ca-rich iron ore increases,sinter agglomeration shifts from localized liquid-phase bonding to a combination of localized liquid-phase bonding and iron oxide crystal connection.Based on an examination of the greater weight value of productivity with grey correlation analysis,the Ca-rich iron ore is beneficial for the comprehensive index of sintering in the range of 0-20wt%content.Therefore,it may be used in sintering with magnetite concentrates as the major ore species.Lele Niu Zhengjian Liu Jianliang Zhang Dawei Lan Sida Li Zhen Li Yaozu Wang 2023International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2023,30,2:0
12Formaldehyde Free Renewable Thermosetting Foam Based on Biomass Tannin with a Lignin Additive显示文摘This study presents easily prepared free formaldehyde bio-based foam based on a prepared thermosetting resin comprising tannin–lignin–furfuryl alcohol-glyoxal(TLFG)via mechanical stirring in presence of ether as a foaming agent.The foam was developed through a co-polycondensation reaction of glyoxal and furfuryl alcohol with condensed tannin and lignin,which is a forest-derived product.Investigation using scanning electron microscopy(SEM)showed more closed-cell structure without cracks and collapse in the TLFG foam,with a higher apparent density with respect to tannin–furanic–formaldehyde(TFF)foam.Differential scanning calorimetry(DSC),dynamic thermomechanical analysis(DTMA),and thermogravimetric analysis(TGA)investigations revealed that the curing process of TLFG foam proceeds easily even at a lower temperature.Additionally,it acquired higher heat resistance than TFF foam.Moreover,TLFG has a more robust chemical network structure,which contributes efficiently to the mechanical strength and a lower pulverization degree compared with TFF-derived foam.Fourier transform infrared spectrometry(FTIR)and electrospray ionization mass spectrometry(ESI-MS)proved that the cross-inking reactions between tannin,lignin,furfuryl alcohol,and glyoxal have been proceeded efficiently.Bowen Liu Yunxia Zhou Hisham Essawy Shang Feng Xuehui Li Jingjing Liao Xiaojian Zhou Jun Zhang Sida Xie 2022Journal of Renewable Materials2022,10,11:0
13Light quality regulates plant biomass and fruit quality through a photoreceptor-dependent HY5-LHC/CYCB module in tomato显示文摘Increasing photosynthesis and light capture offers possibilities for improving crop yield and provides a sustainable way to meet the increasing global demand for food.However,the poor light transmittance of transparent plastic films and shade avoidance at high planting density seriously reduce photosynthesis and alter fruit quality in vegetable crops,and therefore it is important to investigate the mechanisms of light signaling regulation of photosynthesis and metabolism in tomato(Solanum lycopersicum).Here,a combination of red,blue,and white(R1W1B0.5)light promoted the accumulation of chlorophyll,carotenoid,and anthocyanin,and enhanced photosynthesis and electron transport rates by increasing the density of active reaction centers and the expression of the genes LIGHT-HARVESTING COMPLEX B(SlLHCB)and A(SlLHCA),resulting in increased plant biomass.In addition,R1W1B0.5 light induced carotenoid accumulation and fruit ripening by decreasing the expression of LYCOPENEβ-CYCLASE(SlCYCB).Disruption of SlCYCB largely induced fruit lycopene accumulation,and reduced chlorophyll content and photosynthesis in leaves under red,blue,and white light.Molecular studies showed that ELONGATED HYPOCOTYL 5(SlHY5)directly activated SlCYCB,SlLHCB,and SlLHCA expression to enhance chlorophyll accumulation and photosynthesis.Furthermore,R1W1B0.5 light-induced chlorophyll accumulation,photosynthesis,and SlHY5 expression were largely decreased in the slphyb1cry1 mutant.Collectively,R1W1B0.5 light noticeably promoted photosynthesis,biomass,and fruit quality through the photoreceptor(SlPHYB1 and SlCRY1)-SlHY5-SlLHCA/B/SlCYCB module in tomato.Thus,the manipulation of light environments in protected agriculture is a crucial tool to regulate the two vital agronomic traits related to crop production efficiency and fruit nutritional quality in tomato.Jiarong Yan Juan Liu Shengdie Yang Chenghao Jiang Yanan Liu Nan Zhang Xin Sun Ying Zhang Kangyou Zhu Yinxia Peng Xin Bu Xiujie Wang Golam Jalal Ahammed Sida Meng Changhua Tan Yufeng Liu Zhouping Sun Mingfang Qi Feng Wang Tianlai Li 2023Horticulture Research2023,10,12:0
14Long-Term and Immediate Impacts of Health Emergency and Disaster Risk Management(Health-EDRM) Education Interventions in a Rural Chinese Earthquake-Prone Transitional Village显示文摘Ma'an Qiao Village, a Dai and Yi ethnic minority-based community in Sichuan Province, China sustained complete infrastructure devastation during the 2008 Panzhihua earthquake. Health emergency and disaster risk management(Health-EDRM) education intervention programs were implemented in 2010 and 2011. This serial cross-sectional survey study aimed to examine the immediate and long-term impacts of the Health-EDRM interventions in this remote rural community. The findings demonstrate knowledge improvement in areas of water and sanitation, food and nutrition, and disaster preparedness immediately after the Health-EDRM education interventions. Temporal stability of knowledge retention was observed in household hygiene and waste management and smoking beliefs in 2018, 7 years after the interventions.Other important findings include knowledge uptake pattern differences of oral rehydration solution(ORS) between earthquake-prone and flood-prone communities. Usage of Internet and mobile technology for accessing disaster-related information was found to be independent of gender and income. Overall, this study demonstrated the knowledge improvement through Health-EDRM education interventions in a remote rural community. Promoting behavioral changes through interventions to raise awareness has the potential to reduce health risks in transitional post-disaster settings. 15Gp78 regulates PMP22 and causes ER stress and autophagy in EV71-VP1-overexpressing mouse Schwann cells显示文摘Background:During Enterovirus type 71(EV71)infection,the structural viral protein 1(VP1)activates endoplasmic reticulum(ER)stress associated with peripheral myelin protein 22(PMP22)accumulation and induces autophagy.However,the specific mechanism behind this process remains elusive.Methods:In this research,we used the VP1-overexpressing mouse Schwann cells(SCs)models co-transfected with a PMP22 silencing or Autocrine motility factor receptor(AMFR/gp78)overexpressing vector to explore the regulation of gp78 on PMP22 and its relationship with autophagy and apoptosis.Results:The activity of gp78 could be influenced by EV71-VP1,leading to a decrease in the ubiquitination and degradation of PMP22,resulting in PMP22 accumulation in ER.In VP1-overexpressing mouse SCs,all three ER stress sensors,including pancreatic endoplasmic reticulum kinase(PERK),activating transcription factor 6(ATF6)and inositol-requiring enzyme 1(IRE1)and the related downstream signals(C/EBP-homologous protein(CHOP)and Caspase 12)were activated,as well as the ER-resident chaperone Glucose-regulated protein 78(GRP78).In addition,VP1 upregulated the autophagy marker Microtubule-associated protein 1 light chain 3 beta(LC3B),while PMP22 silencing or gp78 overexpression reversed the phenomenon.Meanwhile,PMP22 silencing or gp78 overexpression increased proliferation of EV71-VP1-transfected mouse SCs.Conclusion:Gp78 could regulate PMP22 accumulation through ubiquitination degradation and cause ER stress and autophagy in EV71-VP1-overexpressing mouse SCs.Therefore,the gp78/PMP22/ER stress axis might emerge as a promising therapeutic target for myelin and neuronal damage induced by EV71 infection.DANPING ZHU GUANGMING LIU KUAN FENG SUYUN LI DANDAN HU SIDA YANG PEIQING LI 2024BIOCELL2024,48,4:0
16Machine learning-based prognostic and metastasis models of kidney cancer显示文摘Background:Kidney cancer originates from the urinary tubule epithelial system of the renal parenchyma,accounting for 20% of all urinary system tumors.Approximately 70% of cases are localized at diagnosis,and 30%are metastatic.Most localized kidney cancers can be cured by surgery,but most metastatic patients relapse after surgery and eventually die of kidney cancer.Therefore,accurately predicting patient survival and identifying high-risk metastatic patients will effectively guide interventions and improve prognosis.Methods:This study used the data of 12,394 kidney cancer patients from the surveillance,epidemiology,and end results database to construct a research cohort related to kidney cancer survival and metastasis.Eight machine learning models(including support vector machines,logistic regression,decision tree,random forest,XGBoost,AdaBoost,K-nearest neighbors,and multilayer perceptron)were developed to predict the survival and metastasis of kidney cancer and six evaluation indicators(accuracy,precision,sensitivity,specificity,F1 score,and area under the receiver operating characteristic[AUROC])were used to verify,evaluate,and optimize the models.Results:Among the eight machine learning models,Logistic Regression has the highest AUROC in both prediction scenarios.For 3-year survival prediction,the Logistic Regression model had an accuracy of 0.684,a sensitivity of 0.702,a specificity of 0.670,a precision of 0.686,an F1 score of 0.683,and an AUROC of 0.741.For tumor metastasis prediction,the Logistic Regression model had an accuracy of 0.800,a sensitivity of 0.540,a specificity of 0.830,a precision of 0.769,an F1 score of 0.772,and an AUROC of 0.804.Conclusion:In this study,we selected appropriate variables from both statistical and clinical significance and developed and compared eight machine learning models for predicting 3-year survival and metastasis of kidney cancer.The prediction results and evaluation results demonstrated that our model could provide decision support for early intervention for kidney cancer patients.Yuxiang Zhang Na Hong Sida Huang Jie Wu Jianwei Gao Zheng Xu Fubo Zhang Shaohui Ma Ye Liu Peiyuan Sun Yanping Tang Chun Liu Jianzhong Shou Meng Chen 2022Cancer Innovation2022,1,2:0
