1Implementation of Efficient B2G and V2G in Practical Cases显示文摘In this paper, building to grid(B2G) and vehicle to grid(V2G) have been defined with clear and practical understanding. Both of them are new generation technologies which are the essential part of smart city living and crowd energy clustering. Firstly, an in-detailed overview has been provided with an introduction to B2G and V2G followed by a historical overview and theoretical analysis in respect to smart city planning. Next, a review is conducted on current and previous smart living research, which deals with B2G and V2G. Efficient B2G and V2G implementations in practical cases then have been discussed. 8Real-Time Control System Adopted to Energy Storage for Smart Grid Low Wind Applications:A Part of Distributed Renewables in Smart City显示文摘In this paper,extensive efforts have been undertaken to design and develop a control system,which is incorporated with an energy storage device that can store energy from low-voltage renewable sources.The developed device acts as a storage element,which can be used to charge small-scale batteries,cellular devices,and other applications in remote places where the grid connection is not available.The circuit is developed using a case-by-case analysis.In order to solve the low output voltage problem,a bipolar junction transistor-metal oxide semiconductor field-effect transistor(BJT-MOSFET)based switch control technology with the Arduino microcontroller has been implemented.The developed control system is extremely efficient in charging batteries through a supercapacitor for low-voltage sources.In this research,a small-scale 200-W portable vertical axis wind turbine is used at a wind speed of 3 m/s.The result shows the efficiency of the proposed system as compared with the conventional systems.The proposed system can be an important tool of the latest distributed energy generation technology which is an important part of a smart city.Lastly,the limitations and future scopes of the development of the control device are discussed for the future barrier.An important future scope identified is to integrate the Internet of Things based mobile interface for remote monitoring for any kind of pandemic situation like COVID-19.Now,it is high time to get our smart city concept aligned with the post COVID pandemic situation and get us prepared smartly for similar future occurrences.MD Shahrukh Adnan Khan Yoong Choon Chang Md Ashraful Kabir Muhammad Izuan Fahmi Bin Romli Chockalingam Aravind Vaithilingam Jakir Hosain 2021Journal of Electronic Science and Technology2021,19,4:0
9Reliable iris localization using integral projection function and 2D-shape properties显示文摘Iris recognition technology recognizes a human based on his/her iris pattern.However,the accuracy of the iris recognition technology depends on accurate iris localization.Localizing a pupil region in the presence of other low-intensity regions,such as hairs,eyebrows,and eyelashes,is a challenging task.This study proposes an iris localization technique that includes a localizing pupillary boundary in a sub-image by using an integral projection function and two-dimensional shape properties(e.g.,area,geometry,and circularity).The limbic boundary is localized using gradients and an error distance transform,and the boundary is regularized with active contours.Experimental results obtained from public databases show the superiority of the proposed technique over contemporary methods.Farmanullah Jan Imran Usman Shahrukh Agha 2012Chinese Optics Letters2012,10,11:0

11Therapy-related myeloid neoplasms - what have we learned so far?显示文摘Therapy-related myeloid neoplasms are neoplastic processes arising as a result of chemotherapy, radiation therapy, or a combination of these modalities given for a primary condition. The disease biology varies based on the etiology and treatment modalities patients receive for their primary condition. Topoisomerase Ⅱ inhibitor therapy results in balanced translocations. Alkylating agents, characteristically, give rise to more complex karyotypes and mutations in p53. Other etiologies include radiation therapy, high-dose chemotherapy with autologous stem cell transplantation and telomere dysfunction. Poor-risk cytogenetic abnormalities are more prevalent than they are in de novo leukemias and the prognosis of these patients is uniformly dismal. Outcome varies according to cytogenetic risk group. Treatment recommendations should be based on performance status and karyotype. 12Approach for Grid Connected PV Management:Advance Solar Prediction and Enhancement of Voltage Stability Margin Using FACTS Device显示文摘The uncertainty in solar energy is different from conventional,dispatchable generation fuels and difficult to incorporate into the standard system operating procedures.In the first part of this work,the machine learning algorithm is used to train models based on solar irradiance data and different meteorological weather information to predict the solar irradiance for different cities to validate the forecasting model.Again,the intermittent and inertialess nature of photovoltaic(PV)systems can produce significant power oscillations that can cause significant problems with dynamic stability of the power system and also limit the penetration capacity of PV into the grid.In the second part,it is shown that the residue-based power oscillation damping(POD)controller obviously improves the inter-area oscillation damping.The validity and effectiveness of the proposed controller are demonstrated on the three-machine two-area test system that combines the conventional synchronous generator and flexible alternating current transmission systems(FACTS)device using simulations.This report overall puts an in-depth analysis with regard to the challenges of solar resources with integrating,planning,operating,and particularly the stability of the rest of the power grid,including existing generation resources,customer requirements,and the transmission system itself that will lead to an improved decision making in resource allocations and grid stability.Md.Masum Howlader Mohammad Rokonuzzaman Md Tanbhir Hoq Aziz Un Nur Ibn Saif MD Shahrukh Adnan Khan Mahfuj Howlader 2020Journal of Electronic Science and Technology2020,18,4:0
13Reduced bit low power VLSI architectures for motion estimation显示文摘Low power and real time very large scale integration(VLSI) architectures of motion estimation(ME) algorithms for mobile devices and applications are presented.The power reduction is achieved by devising a novel correction recovery mechanism based on algorithms which allow the use of reduced bit sum of absolute difference(RBSAD) metric for calculating matching error and conversion to full resolution sum of absolute difference(SAD) metric whenever necessary.Parallel and pipelined architectures for high throughput of full search ME corresponding to both the full resolution SAD and the generalized RBSAD algorithm are synthesized using Xilinx Synthesis Tools(XST),where the ME designs based on reduced bit(RB) algorithms demonstrate the reduction in power consumption up to 45% and/or the reduction in area up to 38%.Shahrukh Agha Shahid Khan Shahzad Malik Raja Riaz 2013Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2013,24,3:0
14Options and Opportunities for Energy Management in Malaysian Grid Systems-Putrajaya as a Case Study显示文摘This paper presents an opportunity for energy management with an integrated photovoltaic and wind farm for the energy and economic aspects of the commercial area located in Putrajaya. The energy economy accession conforming to the wind speed, temperature, solar irradiation, and energy consumption on a daily basis is taken into consideration. Design analysis is done through the industry standard numerical tool. From the result analysis, the recommended ratio of renewable share minimizing stress to the electric grid is proposed. According to the solutions obtained from the numerical design tool, photovoltaic is recommended to be more energy efficient and economically viable in comparison of the fully crowded wind farm.
