Shear-wave splitting beneath Yunnan area of Southwest China显示文摘Systematic analyses of seismic data recorded by the Yunnan regional seismograph network reveal significant crustal and upper mantle anisotropy.Splitting of the S phase of local earthquakes and teleseismic SKS,PKS,and SKKS phases indicates time-delays from 1.60 ms/km to 2.30 ms/km in the crust, and from 0.55 s to 1.65 s in the upper mantle which corresponds to an anisotropic layer with a thickness about between 55-165 km.The polarization orientations of fast shear waves in the crust are complicated with a predominantly north-south direction, and the mantle anisotropy has a nearly west-east direction. Our results show different deformation styles and mechanisms exist between the crust and upper mantle.Yutao Shi Yuan Gao Youjin Su Qiong Wang 2012Earthquake Science2012,25,1:46
Crust-mantle coupling in North China:Preliminary analysis from seismic anisotropy显示文摘Data from the CASN(Capital Area Seismograph Network),NSNC(National Seismograph Network of China),and IRIS(Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology) are compared with data from a temporary North China Seismic Array to obtain the background orientation of the horizontal crustal principal compressive stress at NE 95.1°±15.4° in North China.Data are corrected for disturbances of faults and irregular tectonics, and are used to constrain the fast SKS polarization at NE 110.2°±15.8° in North China.Individual station analyses suggests that there is consistently more than 10° difference between the polarizations of fast shear-wave in the crust and those of fast SKS phases.Azimuthally anisotropic phase velocities of Rayleigh waves at different periods also indicate an orientation change for fast velocity with depth. It suggests the crust-mantle coupling in North China follows neither the simple decoupling model nor the strong coupling model.Instead,it is possibly some inhomogeneous combination of two models or some gradual-change model of physical characteristics. This study shows that anisotropy in the crust and mantle could be multiply characterized more correctly and crust-mantle coupling could be analyzed further,if increasing near-field shear-wave splitting data that indicate crustal anisotropy, combined with the azimuthal anisotropy of Rayleigh waves, besides the result of SKS splitting travelling through lithosphere and surface GPS measurements.GAO Yuan WU Jing YI GuiXi SHI YuTao 2010Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,31:34
Shear-wave splitting in the crust:Regional compressive stress from polarizations of fast shear-waves显示文摘When propagating through anisotropic rocks in the crust,shear-waves split into faster and slower components with almost orthogonal polarizations. For nearly vertical propagation the polarization of fast shear-wave(PFS)is parallel to both the strike of the cracks and the direction of maximum horizontal stress, therefore it is possible to use PFS to study stress in the crust. This study discusses several examples in which PFS is applied to deduce the compressive stress in North China,Longmenshan fault zone of east edge of Tibetan plateau and Yunnan zone of southeast edge of Tibetan plateau, also discusses temporal variations of PFS orientations of 1999 Xiuyan earthquake sequences of northeastern China. The results are consistent to those of other independent traditional stress measurements. There is a bridge between crustal PFS and the crustal principal compressive stress although there are many unclear disturbance sources. This study suggests the PFS results could be used to deduce regional and in situ principal compressive stress in the crust only if there are enough seismic stations and enough data.At least,PFS is a useful choice in the zone where there are a large number of dense seismic stations.Yuan Gao Yutao Shi Jing Wu Lingxue Tai 2012Earthquake Science2012,25,1:20
A rupture blank zone in middle south part of Longmenshan Faults: Effect after Lushan M_s7.0 earthquake of 20 April 2013 in Sichuan, China显示文摘On April 20, 2013, the Lushan Ms7.0 earthquake struck at the southern part of the Longmenshan fault in the eastern Tibetan Plateau, China. The shear-wave splitting in the crust indicates a connection between the direction of the principal crustal compressive stress and the fault orientation in the Longmenshan fault zone. Our relocation analysis of the aftershocks of the Lushan earthquake shows a gap between the location of the rupture zone of the Lushan Ms7.0 earthquake and that of the rupture zone of the Wenchuan Ms8.0 earthquake. We believe that stress levels in the crust at the rupture gap and its vicinity should be monitored in the immediate future. We suggest using controlled source borehole measurements for this purpose.GAO Yuan WANG Qiong ZHAO Bo SHI YuTao 2014Science China Earth Sciences2014,57,9:18
Seismic relocation, focal mechanism and crustal seismic anisotropy associated with the 2010 Yushu M_S7.1 earthquake and its aftershocks显示文摘The 2010 Yushu MS7.1 earthquake occurred in Ganzi-Yushu fault, which is the south boundary of Bayan Har block. In this study,by using double difference algorithm, the locations of mainshock(33.13°N,96.59°E,focal depth 10.22 km)and more than 600 aftershocks were obtained. The focal mechanisms of the mainshock and some aftershocks with MS>3.5 were estimated by jointly using broadband velocity waveforms from Global Seismic Network(GSN)and Qinghai Seismic Network as well. The focal mechanisms and relocation show that the strike of the fault plane is about 125°(WNW-ESE),and the mainshock is left-laterally strike-slip.The parameters of shear-wave splitting were obtained at seismic stations of YUS and L6304 by systematic analysis method of shear-wave splitting(SAM)method.Based on the parameters of shear-wave splitting and focal mechanism, the characteristics of stress field in seismic source zone were analyzed. The directions of polarization at stations YUS and L6304 are different. It is concluded that after the mainshock and the MS6.3 aftershock on April 14,the stress-field was changed.Bo Zhao Yutao Shi Yuan Gao 2012Earthquake Science2012,25,1:13
Relocation of aftershocks of the Wenchuan M_S8.0 earthquake and its implication to seismotectonics显示文摘From 14:28 (GMT+8) on May 12th,2008,the origin time of MS8.0 Wenchuan earthquake,to December 31th,2008,more than 10 000 aftershocks (M≥2.0) had been recorded by the seismic networks in Sichuan and surrounding areas.Using double difference algorithm, the main shock and more than 7 000 aftershocks were relocated. The aftershocks distribute about 350 km long. The depths of aftershocks are mainly between 10 km and 20 km.The average depth of aftershocks is about 13 km after relocation. In the southwest, the distribution of aftershocks is along the back-range fault, the central-range fault and the front-range fault of Longmenshan faults. In the middle, the distribution of aftershocks is along the central-range fault. In the north, aftershocks are relocated along the Qingchuan-Pingwu fault.Relocations suggest that the back-range fault mainly induced and controlled the aftershock occurrence in the northern section of aftershocks sequence. The MS8.0 main shock is between central-range and front-range of Longmenshan faults and is near the shear plane of the fault bottom. From the depth distribution of aftershock sequence,it suggests that these three faults show imbricate thrust structure.Bo Zhao Yutao Shi Yuan Gao 2011Earthquake Science2011,24,1:12
Crustal thickness and v_P/v_S ratio in Shanxi Graben, China显示文摘Shanxi Graben is in the middle part of the North China Craton, from south to north. With the teleseismic data recorded by Regional Seismograph Networks and the temporary ZBnet-W Seismic Array around east part of Shanxi Graben, we measured the crustal thickness and vP/vSratio beneath each station using the H-j stack of receiver functions. The observed crustal thickness shows obvious lateral variation, increasing gradually from east to west in the Shanxi Graben. Beneath the Shanxi Graben the crust is relatively thicker than both sides of the south and the north. In addition, the vP/vSratio in the north of study zone is higher than that in the south. The highest vP/vSratio exists in the crust of the Xinding basin and the Datong basin. Our study also suggests that high velocity ratio might result from the strong activities of the magmation and volcanism.Yutao Shi Yuan Gao Honglin Jing 2014Earthquake Science2014,27,6:4
Preliminary seismic anisotropy in the upper crust of the south segment of Xiaojiang faults and its tectonic implications显示文摘The Xiaojiang faults, striking north-tosouth(NS),and the Honghe faults, striking north-to-west(NW),are first-order block boundaries that intersect to form a concentrated stress zone at an acute angle in the southern part of the Sichuan-Yunnan rhombic block(SYB).It is also a crucial zone for material escaping from the Tibetan Plateau(TP)due to the collision between the Indian Plate and the Eurasian Plate. In December 2017,the Institute of Earthquake Forecasting of the China Earthquake Administration(CEA)deployed a linear temporary seismic broadband array, the Honghe-Xiaojiang temporary Seismic Array(HX Array),across first-order block boundaries in the southern SYB.By using the waveform data of small earthquakes recorded by stations in the HX Array across Xiaojiang faults from 2017 to 2019,and by permanent seismic stations of the China National Earthquake Networks from 2012 to 2019,this paper adopts the systematic analysis method of shear-wave splitting(SWS),SAM method,to obtain preliminary results for seismic anisotropy in the upper crust. The study area can be divided into two subzones according to the spatial distribution of the directions of polarization of the fast shear-wave(PFS)at the stations:the northern zone(zone A,where the HX Array is located)and the southern zone(zone B,to the south of the HX Array). The results show that the directions of the PFS at stations in zone A were highly consistent, dominant in the NE direction, correlated with the in-situ principal compressive stress, and were seemingly unaffected by the Xiaojiang faults. The directions of the PFS as recorded at stations in zone B were more complicated, and were dominant in the NS direction parallel to that of the regional principal compressive stress. This suggests the joint influence of complex tectonics and regional stress in this narrow wedge area.By referring to the azimuthal anisotropy derived from seismic ambient noise in the southeast margin of the TP,the NS direction of the PFS in the middle and lower crust, and its EW direction in the upper mantle, this paper concludes that azimuthal anisotropy in the upper crust differed from that in the lower crust in the south segment of Xiaojiang faults,at least beneath the observation area, and azimuthal anisotropy in the crust was different from that in the upper mantle. The results support the pattern of deformation of ductile flow in the lower crust, and the decoupling between the upper and lower crusts as well as that between the crust and the mantle in the study area. The crustal directions of the PFS appeared to be independent of the Xiaojiang faults, suggesting that the influence of the South China block on the SYB passed through the Xiaojiang faults to the Yimen region. The results of this study indicate that anisotropic studies based on data on the dense temporary seismic array can yield clearer tectonic information, and reveal the complex spatial distribution of stress and deformation in the upper crust of the south segment of Xiaojiang faults.Ying Li Yuan Gao Yutao Shi Peng Wu 2021Earthquake Science2021,34,1:3
The ANIP1-OsWRKY62 module regulates both basal defense and Pi9-mediated immunity against Magnaporthe oryzae in rice显示文摘During effector-triggered immunity(ETI)against the devastating rice blast pathogen Magnaporthe oryzae,Pi9 functions as an intracellular resistance protein sensing the pathogen-secreted effector AvrPi9 in rice.Importantly, the underlying recognition mechanism(s)between Pi9 and AvrPi9 remains elusive. In this study,We identified a rice ubiquitin-like domain-containing protein(UDP),AVRPI9-INTERACTING PROTEIN 1(ANP1),which is directly targeted by AvrPi9 and also binds to Pi9 in plants.Phenotypic analysis of anip1 mu-tants and plants overexpressing ANIP1 revealed that ANIP1 negatively modulates rice basal defense against M.oryzae.ANiP1 undergoes 26S proteasome-mediated degradation, which can be blocked by both AvrPi9 and Pi9.Moreover,ANIP1 physically associates with the rice WRKY transcription factor OsWRKY62,which also interacts with AvrPi9 and Pi9 in plants. In the absence of Pi9,ANIP1 negatively regulates OsWRKY62 abundance, which can be promoted by AvrPi9.Accordingly,knocking out of OsWRKY62 in a non-Pi9 back-ground decreased immunity against M.oryzae.However,we also observed that OsWRKY62 plays negative roles in defense against a compatible M.oryzae strain in Pi9-harboring rice.Pi9 binds to ANiP1 and OsWRKY62 to form a complex, which may help to keep Pi9 in an inactive state and weaken rice immunity.Furthermore, using competitive binding assays,we showed that AvrPi9 promotes Pi9 dissociation from ANiP1,which could be an important step toward ETI activation.Taken together, our results reveal an immune strategy whereby a UDP-WRKY module, targeted by a fungal effector, modulates rice immunity in distinct ways in the presence or absence of the corresponding resistance protein.Xuetao Shi Yehui Xiong Kai Zhang Yinshan Zhang Junqi Zhang Lili Zhang Yutao Xiao Guo-Liang Wang Wende Liu 2023Molecular Plant2023,16,4:3
Quasi-waveform seismic tomography of crustal structures in the capital circle region of China显示文摘Seismic tomography is one of the main tools to explore the interior of the earth. In this study, the quasi-waveform seismic tomographic method is used for the first time to reveal the crustal structures in the capital region of China.3-D highresolution V_P,V_S and the Poisson’s ratio models are generated by inverting 29839 direct P-and 29972 direct S-wave traveltimes selected from 3231 local earthquakes. The results reveal strong crustal heterogeneities. The velocity anomalies at shallow depths are well consistent with surface geologic structures. The relatively low-velocity anomaly layer in the middle crust may be the result of multiple phases of tectonic activity.Earthquakes generally occurred on the boundaries of high-and low-velocity and Poisson’s ratio anomalies. There are obvious low-velocity anomalies below the hypocenters of the Tangshan earthquake and the historical Sanhe-Pinggu earthquake, implying the existence of fluids. The similar velocity structures around the hypocenters of the two earthquakes indicate that the occurrences of the two earthquakes may be related to the same mechanism. The highresolution velocity models provide important observational constraints on the small-scale heterogeneities and dynamic mechanism of the crust in the capital region of China.Xueyuan HUANG Dinghui YANG Ping TONG Yuan GAO Yutao SHI Hao WU 2021Science China Earth Sciences2021,64,1:2

Receiver function structures beneath the Haiyuan fault on the northeastern margin of the Tibetan plateau显示文摘We performed a receiver function analysis on teleseismic data recorded along two dense seismic profiles and from 4 broadband regional seismic stations across the northeastern Tibetan plateau. The crustal thickness and vP/vS ratio were measured by the H-κdomain search algorithm. The Moho discontinuity across the Haiyuan arc fault zone was also revealed by common conversion point(CCP)imaging. Our study results show that the crustal thickness and the vP/vS ratio were 42–56 km and 1.60–1.88,respectively.The crustal thickening on the northeastern margin indicates that the crust is shortening or that there was a superimposition of crusts during the collision of the Tibetan plateau with Eurasian block. Our results suggest that Haiyuan fault likely resulted from the interactions of high temperature and pressure conditions during the collision of the Indian and Asian continents. The Moho beneath the Haiyuan tectonic region exhibits an obvious offset and a vague discontinuity according to CCP imaging. This study suggests that the Haiyuan arc fault zone is a trans-crustal fault that cuts through the Moho in the northeastern Tibetan Plateau. Moreover, there are indications of strong deformation in the intensive crustal extrusion from the interior of the Tibetan Plateau to its northeastern margin.Yutao Shi Yuan Gao Laiyu Lu 2021Earthquake Science2021,34,4:1
Electro-chemo-mechanical analysis of the effect of bending deformation on the interface of flexible solid-state battery显示文摘Flexible solid-state battery has several unique characteristics including high flexibility, easy portability, and high safety, which may have broad application prospects in new technology products such as rollup displays, power implantable medical devices, and wearable equipments. The interfacial mechanical and electrochemical problems caused by bending deformation, resulting in the battery damage and failure, are particularly interesting.Herein,a fully coupled electro-chemo-mechanical model is developed based on the actual solid-state battery structure.Concentration-dependent material parameters,stress-dependent diffusion, and potential shift are considered.According to four bending forms(k=8/mm,0/mm,-8/mm,and free),the results show that the negative curvature bending is beneficial to reducing the plastic strain during charging/discharging,while the positive curvature is detrimental. However, with respect to the electrochemical performance, the negative curvature bending creates a negative potential shift, which causes the battery to reach the cut-off voltage earlier and results in capacity loss. These results enlighten us that suitable electrode materials and charging strategy can be tailored to reduce plastic deformation and improve battery capacity for different forms of battery bending.Yutao SHI Chengjun XU Bingbing CHEN Jianqiu ZHOU Rui CAI 2023Applied Mathematics and Mechanics(English Edition)2023,44,2:1
Interaction between neutrophil extracellular traps and cardiomyocytes contributes to atrial fibrillation progression显示文摘Atrial fibrillation(AF)is a frequent arrhythmia associated with cardiovascular morbidity and mortality.Neutrophil extracellular traps(NETs)are DNA fragments with cytoplasm proteins released from neutrophils, which are involved in various cardiovascular diseases. To elucidate the role of NETs in AF,we investigated the effect of NETs on AF progression and the secretion of NETs in AF.Results showed that:NETs induced the autophagic apoptosis of cardiomyocytes, and NETs also led to mitochondrial injury by promoting mitochondrial depolarization and ROS production.Ongoing tachy-pacing led to the structural loss of cardiomyocytes and provided potent stimuli to induce NETs secretion from neutrophils. In the meanwhile, increased Ang II in AF facilitated NETs formation through the upregulation of AKT phosphorylation, while it could not directly initiate NETosis as the autophagy was not induced. In vivo,DNase I was administrated to abrogate NETs formation, and AF-related fibrosis was ameliorated as expected.Correspondingly, the duration of the induced AF was reduced. Our study addresses the formation mechanism of NETs in AF and demonstrates the lethal effects of NETs on cardiomyocytes through the induction of mitochondrial injury and autophagic cell death, which comprehensively describes the positive feedback comprised of NETs and stimuli secreted by cardiomyocytes that sustains the progression of AF and AF related fibrosis.Li He Ruiqi Liu Honghua Yue Xiaoxin Zhang Xiaohui Pan Yutao Sun Jun Shi Guonian Zhu Chaoyi Qin Yingqiang Guo 2023Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2023,8,8:1
A novel FGFR1 inhibitor CYY292 suppresses tumor progression, invasion, and metastasis of glioblastoma by inhibiting the Akt/GSK3β/snail signaling axis显示文摘Glioblastoma(GBM)is a malignant brain tumor that grows quickly, spreads widely, and is resistant to treatment.Fibroblast growth factor receptor(FGFR)1 is a receptor tyrosine kinase that regulates cellular processes, including proliferation, survival, migration, and dif-ferentiation.FGFR1 was predominantly expressed in GBM tissues, and FGFR1 expression was negatively correlated with overall survival. We rationally designed a novel small molecule CYY292,which exhibited a strong affinity for the FGFR1 protein in GBM cell lines in vitro.CYY292 also exerted an effect on the conserved Ser777 residue of FGFR1.CYY292 dose-depen-dently inhibited cell proliferation,epithelial-mesenchymal transition, stemness, invasion, and migration in vitro by specifically targeting the FGFR1/AKT/Snail pathways in GBM cells, and this effect was prevented by pharmacological inhibitors and critical gene knockdown. In vivo experiments revealed that CYY292 inhibited U87MG tumor growth more effectively than AZD4547.CYY292 also efficiently reduced GBM cell proliferation and increased survival in orthotopic GBM models. This study further elucidates the function of FGFR1 in the GBM and reveals the effect of CYY292,which targets FGFR1,on downstream signaling pathways directly reducing GBM cell growth, invasion, and metastasis and thus impairing the recruitment, activation, and function of immune cells.Yanran Bi Ruiling Zheng Jiahao Hu Ruiqing Shi Junfeng Shi Yutao Wang Peng Wang Wenyi Jiang Gyudong Kim Zhiguo Liu Xiaokun Li Li Lin 2024Genes & Diseases2024,11,1:0
Key issues in water sealing performance of underground oil storage caverns: Advances and perspectives显示文摘Water sealing performance is important for underground water-sealed oil storage(UWSOS).The key issues concerning water sealing performance mainly include the permeability of fractured rock mass(FRM),water-sealed safety(WSS),water curtain performance, and prediction and control of water inflow. This paper reviews the progress of above four key issues on water sealing performances.First, the permeability of an FRM is the basis of water sealing performance, and several commonly used permeability test methods and spatial variation characteristics of permeability are outlined.Second, the current water sealing criteria are compared, and the evaluation methods of WSS are summarized.Third, the design parameters and efficiency evaluation of water curtain systems(WCSs)are introduced. The water inflow of oil storage caverns(OSCs)can reflect the water sealing effect, and the prediction methods and control measures of water inflow are also summarized. Finally, the advantages and disadvantages of the current research are discussed, and the potential research directions are pointed out, such as optimization of water sealing criteria and FRM model, quantitative evaluation of WCS efficiency, accurate prediction of water inflow, and improvement of grouting technology.Yutao Li Bin Zhang Lei Wang Yiguo Xue Hanxun Wang Lei Shi Zhenhua Peng Junyan Li 2023Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2023,15,10:0
On Shear Wave Splitting in the Zhangjiakou-Bohai Sea Seismic Belt显示文摘The Zhangjiakou-Bohai Sea seismic belt is an important seismic zone in North China. The direction of principal compressive stress is near EW in this region. According to digital seismic data from the Capital Region from September 2005 to September 2010,and using the SAM method, the spatial distribution of the crust anisotropy characteristics are studied and discussed in the middle-eastern part of the Zhangjiakou-Bohai Sea seismic belt. The principal polarization direction, which is near EW direction,is obvious in the middleeastern Zhangjiakou-Bohai Sea seismic belt. The spatial distribution of polarization direction crossing the Zhangjiakou-Bohai Sea seismic belt shows that there is little difference among the Yanshan uplift area, inside of the seismic zone and North China basin, and the principal polarization direction is near EW.Sun Jin Shi Yutao Zhao Bo Gao Yuan 2014Earthquake Research in China2014,28,2:0
Shear-wave Splitting of Aftershocks of the M_S 5.7 Jiujiang-Ruichang Earthquake显示文摘Shear wave splitting is studied based on the digital waveforms of three seismic stations DJS, SZD and WUJ, which were set up after the Jiujiang-Ruichang MS5.7 earthquake of November 26, 2005 around the epicenter area. The result shows that the time delays of slow shear waves of the DJS station, which is not far from the epicenter and where the distribution of faults is complex near the station, are relatively larger and the polarization directions of fast shear waves are not concentrated; the predominant polarization direction of fast shear waves of WUJ station, with single fault distributed nearby, has a difference of 35° to the strike of the fault and is inconsistent with the direction of regional principal compressive stress. The predominant polarization direction of fast shear waves of SZD station with no faults nearby is in accordance with regional principal compressive stress. There is no obvious regular relationshipship between the delay time and the focal depth.Tang Lanrong Shi Yutao Zeng Xinfu Zheng Bin Zhao Bo Lv Jian 2013Earthquake Research in China2013,27,1:0
Effects of in-situZrB_2 nanoparticles and scandium on microstructure and mechanical property of 7N01 aluminum alloy显示文摘In this study, the in-situ synthesized ZrB_(2) nanoparticles and rare earth Sc were introduced to enhance the strength and ductility of 7N01 aluminum alloy, via the generation of high-melting and uniform nanodispersoids. The microstructure and mechanical property evolution of the prepared composites and the interaction between ZrB_(2) and Sc were studied in detail. The microstructure investigation shows that the introduction of rare earth scandium(Sc) can promote the distribution of ZrB_(2) nanoparticles, by improving their wettability to the Al melt. Meanwhile, the addition of rare earth Sc also modifies the coarse Al Zn Mg Mn Fe precipitated phases, refines the matrix grains and generates high-melting Al_3(Sc,Zr)/Al_3Sc nanodispersoids. Tensile tests of the composites show that with the combinatorial introduction of ZrB_(2) and Sc, the strength and ductility of the composites are improved simultaneously compared with the corresponding 7N01 alloy, ZrB_(2) /7N01 composite and Sc/7N01 alloy. And the optimum contents of ZrB_(2) and Sc are 3 wt% and 0.2 wt% in this study. The yield strength, ultimate strength and elongation of(3 wt% ZrB_(2) +0.2 wt% Sc)/7N01 composite are 477 MPa, 506 MPa and 9.8%, increased about 18.1%, 12.2%and 38% compared to 7N01 alloy. Furthermore, the cooperation strengthening mechanisms of ZrB_(2) and Sc are also discussed.Xizhou Kai Yuhui Wang Ruikun Chen Yanjie Peng Anjun Shi Ran Tao Xiangfeng Liang Guirong Li Gang Chen Xiaojing Xu Yutao Zhao 2024Journal of Rare Earths2024,42,3:0
