| 1 | Size effect in the Al3Sc dispersoid-mediated precipitation and mechanical/electrical properties of Al-Mg-Si-Sc alloys显示文摘A significant size effect is found in the Al3 Sc dispersoid-mediated precipitation in an Al-Mg-Si-Sc alloy.When the Al3 Sc dispersoid size smaller than about 40 nm,β ' precipitates nucleate directly on the coherent dispersoids and grow by sacrificing the latter.While the dispersoid size greater than^40 nm,Q' and U2 phases are additionally produced that nucleate on the dislocations induced by the semi-/incoherent dispersoids.Mechanical and electrical properties are highly sensitive to the Al3 Sc dispersoid-tuned precipitation.The co-precipitation of β',Q' and U2 phases leads to an obvious improvement in hardness and simultaneously in electrical conductivity. | Ruihong Wang Shengyu Jiang Bao'an Chen Zhixiang Zhu | 2020 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,54,22: | 5 |
| 2 | Distinct immune signatures discriminate between asymptomatic and presymptomatic SARS-CoV-2^(pos)subjects显示文摘Increasing numbers of SARS-CoV-2-positive(SARS-CoV-2^(pos))subjects are detected at silent SARS-CoV-2 infection stage(SSIS).Yet,SSIS represents a poorly examined time-window wherein unknown immunity patterns may contribute to the fate determination towards persistently asymptomatic or overt disease.Here,we retrieved blood samples from 19 asymptomatic and 12 presymptomatic SARS-COV-2^(pos)subjects,47 age/gender-matched patients with mild or moderate COVID-19 and 27 normal subjects,and interrogated them with combined assays of 44-plex CyTOF,RNA-seq and Olink.Notably,both asymptomatic and presymptomatic subjects exhibited numerous readily detectable immunological alterations,while certain parameters including more severely decreased frequencies of CD107a^(low)classical monocytes,intermediate monocytes,non-classical monocytes and CD62L^(hi)CD8^(+)Tnaive cells,reduced plasma STC1 level but an increased frequency of CD4^(+)NKT cells combined to distinguish the latter.Intercorrelation analyses revealed a particular presymptomatic immunotype mainly manifesting as monocytic overactivation and differentiation blockage,a likely lymphocyte exhaustion and immunosuppression,yielding mechanistic insights into SSIS fate determination,which could potentially improve 5ARS-CoV-2 management. | Shanhe Yu Caixia Di Shijun Chen Mingquan Guo Jiayang Yan Zhaoqin Zhu Li Liu Ruixue Feng Yinyin Xie Ruihong Zhang Juan Chen Mengxi Wang Dong Wei Hai Fang Tong Yin Jinyan Huang Saijuan Chen Hongzhou Lu Jiang Zhu Jieming Qu | 2021 | Cell Research2021,31,11: | 4 |
| 3 | Microstructure and mechanical properties of Mg-14Li-1Al-0.3La alloys produced by two-pass extrusion显示文摘The microstructure of as-cast and extruded Mg-14 Li-1 Al-(0, 0.3) La alloys was examined with XRD,OM, SEM, and EDS. The mechanical properties of the extruded specimens with and without La were compared. The results show that La addition has an obvious effect on the microstructure of the as-cast LA141 alloy by reducing the average grain size from 600 to 220 μm. β-Li and LiMgAl_2 phases are observed in both alloys, and long-rod-shaped Al_2 La phase is also observed in the La containing alloy. After extrusion, Al_2 La phases are short-rod-shaped and distribute evenly in the alloy. | 4 | Anaerobic digestion of food wastes for biogas production显示文摘Five types of food wastes were investigated as feedstock for a potential centralized anaerobic digester system in the area of Sacramento,California to produce biogas energy.The wastes were from a soup processing plant,a cafeteria,a commercial kitchen,a fish farm,and grease trap collection service.Digestibilities of the food wastes,individually and in mixtures,were conducted at mesophilic(35℃)and thermophilic(50℃)temperatures and at two food to microorganism ratios(F/M)of 0.5 and 1.0,for 28 days.A continuously fed mesophilic single-stage anaerobic digester was evaluated using a mixture of the five food wastes at organic loading rates of 0.5 to 1.0 g VS/L/d.In the batch digestion tests,fish and grease trap wastes required longer time to complete the digestion and had higher biogas yields than the other wastes.The continuously-fed digester required the addition of sodium hydroxide to maintain pH at proper levels in the digester.Alkalinity of about 2,500 mg CaCO3/L and pH above 7 was maintained by adding 0.2 g NaOH/g VS.The results of this study indicated that it was necessary to use the chemicals,such as NaOH,to control the pH of the single-stage anaerobic digester treating the food waste.For commercial applications,the cost of chemicals and proper management of additional salts in the digester effluent need to be carefully considered. | Xiguang Chen Rowena TRomano Ruihong Zhang | 2010 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2010,3,4: | 3 |
