| 1 | Can intraluminal devices prevent or reduce colorectal anastomotic leakage:A review显示文摘Colorectal anastomotic leakage is a serious complication of colorectal surgery, leading to high morbidity and mortality rates. In recent decades, many strategies aimed at lowering the incidence of anastomotic leakage have been examined. The focus of this review will be on mechanical aids protecting the colonic anastomosis against leakage. A literature search was performed using MEDLINE, EMBASE, and The Cochrane Collaborative library for all papers related to prevention of anastomotic leakage by placement of a device in the colon. Devices were categorised as decompression devices, intracolonic devices, and biodegradable devices. A decompression device functions by keeping the anal sphincter open, thereby lowering the intraluminal pressure and lowering the pressure on the anastomosis. Intracolonic devices do not prevent the formation of dehiscence. However, they prevent the faecal load from contacting the anastomotic site, thereby preventing leakage of faeces into the peritoneal cavity. | 2 | Connect & Drive:design and evaluation of cooperative adaptive cruise control for congestion reduction显示文摘Road throughput can be increased by driving at small inter-vehicle time gaps.The amplification of velocity disturbances in upstream direction,however,poses limitations to the minimum feasible time gap.This effect is covered by the notion of string stability.String-stable behavior is thus considered an essential requirement for the design of automatic distance control systems,which are needed to allow for safe driving at time gaps well below 1 s.Using wireless inter-vehicle communications to provide real-time information of the preceding vehicle,in addition to the information obtained by common Adaptive Cruise Control(ACC) sensors,appears to significantly decrease the feasible time gap,which is shown by practical experiments with a test fleet consisting of six passenger vehicles.The large-scale deployment of this system,known as Cooperative ACC(CACC),however,poses challenges with respect to the reliability of the wireless communication system.A solution for this scalability problem can be found in decreasing the transmission power and/or beaconing rate,or adapting the communications protocol.Although the main CACC objective is to increase road throughput,the first commercial application of CACC is foreseen to be in truck platooning,since short distance following is expected to yield significant fuel savings in this case. | Jeroen PLOEG Alex F.A.SERRARENS Geert J.HEIJENK | 2011 | Journal of Modern Transportation2011，19，3： | 9 |
| 3 | Emerging pollutants in the environment:A challenge for water resource management显示文摘A significant number of emerging pollutants(EPs)resulting from point and diffuse pollution is present in the aquatic environment.These are chemicals that are not commonly monitored but have the potential to enter the environment and cause adverse ecological and human health effects.According to the NORMAN network,at least 700 substances categorized into 20 classes,have been identified in the European aquatic environment.In light of their potential impact action is urgently required.In this study,we present a concept that shows the current state of art and challenges for monitoring programs,fate and risk assessment tools and requirements for policies with respect to emerging pollutants as a base for sustainable water resource management.Currently,methods for sampling and analysis are not harmonized,being typically focused on certain EP classes.For a number of known highly hazardous EPs detection limits are too high to allow proper risk assessment.For other EPs such as microplastics method development is in its infancy.Advanced ultra-sensitive instrumental techniques should be used for quantitative determination of prioritized EPs in water,suspended matter,soil and biota.Data on EPs'and their metabolites'properties that determine their fate in the environment are often not available.National surveys on water quality often use different parameters for water quality assessment and often do not include EPs.A harmonized monitoring of surface and groundwater is not yet achieved and urgently required.Specific component integrated into models assessing the fate of EPs in a multi compartment environmental approach are missing and must be developed.The main goal of risk assessment is the overall protection of ecological communities in the aquatic environment and human health.New methods for assessing the cumulative risks from combined exposures to several stressors,including mixtures of EPs in a multi-scale approach are required.A combination of regulations and management measures with respect to use/emissions of EPs into the environment,as well as to their occurrence in the environment are fundamental to reach an efficient water resource management. | Violette Geissen Hans Mol Erwin Klumpp Günter Umlauf Marti Nadal Martine van der Ploeg Sjoerd E.A.T.M.van de Zee Coen J.Ritsema | 2015 | International Soil and Water Conservation Research2015，3，1： | 3 |
