1Application of a novel backwashing process in upflow biological aerated filter显示文摘To improve the efficiency of backwashing in upflow biological aerated filter (BAF), a novel backwashing process named air-water siphon backwashing (AWSB) was proposed and applied on laboratory scale. The effects of backwashing on turbidity and suspended solid (SS) in backwashing efluent using this new backwashing process were compared with those of traditional backwashing process, namely air-water backwashing (AWB). In AWB, the turbidity of backwashing efluent maintained 100 NUT when consumed 60 min and 10.5 L water. However, in AWSB, it declined to 44 NUT, consumed 40 min, and 7 L water. The COD removal of BAF after backwashing was also analyzed. The average removal rate of COD in the reactor backwashed by AWB and AWSB was 89.34% and 90.91%, respectively. Compared with AWB, the backwashing interval had been prolonged 35%. The volume of backwashing water in that AWSB was only 66.7% of that in AWB. The results demonstrated that AWSB required less water and took shorter backwashing time relative to AWB to achieve the same turbidity of backwashing efluent, and AWSB was more effective in removing fouling than that of AWB. 2Physico-chemical characterization and source tracking of black carbon at a suburban site in Beijing显示文摘Particles from ambient air and combustion sources including vehicle emission, coal combustion and biomass burning were collected and chemically pretreated with the purpose of obtaining isolated BC(black carbon) samples. TEM(transmission electron microscopy)results indicate that BC from combustion sources shows various patterns, and airborne BC appears spherical and about 50 nm in diameter with a homogeneous surface and turbostratic structure. The BET(Barrett–Emmett–Teller) results suggest that the surface areas of these BC particles fall in the range of 3–23 m2/g, with a total pore volume of 0.03–0.05 cm3/g and a mean pore diameter of 7–53 nm. The nitrogen adsorption–desorption isotherms are indicative of the accumulation mode and uniform pore size. O2-TPO(temperature programmed oxidation)profiles suggest that the airborne BC oxidation could be classified as the oxidation of amorphous carbon, which falls in the range of 406–490°C with peaks at 418, 423 and 475°C,respectively. 3The pinhole SPECT for animal model of bone metastasis with SPC-A-1BM human pulmonary adenocarcinoma bone metastasis cell line显示文摘The study was to investigate the role of pinhole single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT), the human pulmonary adenocarcinoma bone-seeking metastasis cell line SPC-A-1BM was used.These cells form typical osteolytic bone metastases when inoculated into the arterial circulation of NIH-Beige-Nude-XD (BNX) mice via the left ventricle.In order to evaluate the irradiation impact of ^(99m)Tc-MDP versus X-ray on cells growth,we used six groups of SPC-A-1BM cells in our imaging scheme and irradiated by various doses of ^(99m)Tc-MDP (37,74,111, 370,740 MBq) and X-ray(40 kV,2 mA,6 s) respectively.The cell's number of each group was well recorded in different exposure time(4,8,12,24,48,72,96 hours).After that,SPC-A-1BM cells(1×106) were inoculated into the mice via left ventricle.We compared the results obtained with those different doses of ^(99m)Tc-MDP using pinhole SPECT and conventional X-ray skeletal surveys.The data show that the cell-survival number of 111 MBq group has insignificant difference with that of X-ray and the dose is adequate to have an ideal image.Besides,it is important that the chromosome of the cells in the group of 111 MBq showed no irradiation-related damages in our test.These results implied that ^(99m)Tc-MDP pinhole SPECT may provide another way other than conventional X-ray skeletal surveys in detecting bone metastasis of pulmonary adenocarcinoma in BNX mice.GAO Xiuli YANG Shunfang YU Yongli SHI Meiping ZHAO Lanxiang YE Jianding LU Jianying 2008Nuclear Science and Techniques2008,19,5:1

7Morphogenesis of Chinese Water Chestnut Pistil and Pollen Tube during Germination显示文摘With the forms of pistil stigma of ' Guiti 2' Chinese water chestnut cultivar during the pollination as the object of observation,we reveal the pollination process of Chinese water chestnut from the microscopic point of view,to provide reference for Chinese water chestnut crossbreeding.
