| 1 | Effect of Nimesulide on proliferation and apoptosis of human hepatoma SMMC-7721 cells显示文摘AIM: Cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) has been suggested to beassociated with carcinogenesis. We sought to investigatethe effect of the selective COX-2 inhibitor, Nimesulide onproliferation and apoptosis of SMMC-7721 human hepatomacells.METHODS: This study was carried out on the culture ofhepatic carcinoma SMMC-7721 cell line. Variousconcentrations of Nimesulide (0、200 μmol/L、300 μmol/L、400μmol/L) were added and incubated. Cell proliferation wasdetected with MTT colorimetric assay, cell apoptosis byelectron microscopy, flow cytometry and TUNEL.RESULTS: Nimesulide could significantly inhibit SMMC-7721cells proliferation dose-dependent and in a dependentmanner compared with that of the control group. Theduration lowest inhibition rate produced by Nimesulide inSMMC-7721 cells was 19.06 %, the highest inhibition ratewas 58.49 %. After incubation with Nimesulide for 72 h, themost highest apoptosis rate and apoptosis index of SMMC-7721 cells comparing with those of the control were 21. 20 %+1.62% vs2.24% +0.26% and21.23+ 1.78 vs2.01+0.23(p<0.05).CONCLUSION: The selective COX-2 inhibitor, Nimesulide caninhibit the proliferation of SMMC-7721 cells and increaseapoptssis rate and apoptosis index of SMMC-7721 cells. | 2 | Dual-targeting and microenvironment-responsive micelles as a gene delivery system to improve the sensitivity of glioma to radiotherapy显示文摘Dbait is a small double-stranded DNA molecule that has been utilized as a radiosensitizer to enhance the sensitivity of glioma to radiotherapy(RT). However, there is no effective drug delivery system to effectively overcome the blood–brain barrier(BBB). The aim of this study was to develop a gene delivery system by using the BBB and glioma dual-targeting and microenvironment-responsive micelles(ch-Kn(s-s)R8-An) to deliver Dbait into glioma for RT. Angiopep-2 can target the low-density lipoprotein receptor-related protein-1(LRP1) that is overexpressed on brain capillary endothelial cells(BCECs) and glioma cells. In particular, due to upregulated matrix metalloproteinase 2(MMP-2) in the tumor microenvironment, we utilized MMP-2-responsive peptides as the enzymatically degradable linkers to conjugate angiopep-2. The results showed that ch-Kn(s-s)R8-An micelles maintained a reasonable size(80–160 nm) with a moderate distribution and a decreased mean diameter from the cross-linking as well as exhibited low critical micelle concentration(CMC) with positive surface charge, ranging from 15 to40 mV. The ch-K5(s-s)R8-An/pEGFP showed high gene transfection efficiency in vitro, improved uptake in glioma cells and good biocompatibility in vitro and in vivo. In addition, the combination of ch-K5(s-s)R8-An/Dbait with RT significantly inhibited the growth of U251 cells in vitro. | 3 | First mass measurement of short-lived nuclides at HIRFL-CSR显示文摘Recent commissioning of the HIRFL-CSR has demonstrated its ability to perform direct mass measurement for short-lived nuclides. Projectile fragments produced by the 78Kr ions at 481.88 MeV/u were separated with the new radioactive beam line in Lanzhou (RIBLL2), and injected into and stored in the experimental storage ring (CSRe). By operating the CSRe as an isochronous mass spectrometry, a typical mass resolution around 2.0×10?5 has been achieved. The masses for 63Ge, 65As and 67Se were measured for the first time. The measured masses are compared with theoretical predictions and the location of the proton drip-line for As isotopes is discussed. | 5 | Prediction of 10-year Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease Risk among Adults Aged 40-79 Years in China:a Nationally Representative Survey显示文摘Objective To establish the distribution of 10-year atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease(ASCVD) risk among Chinese adults.Methods We estimated the 10-year ASCVD risk by applying the 2013 American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association pooled cohort equations(PCEs) to the data obtained from the 2010 China Chronic Disease and Risk Factor Surveillance that involved 61,541 participants(representing 520,158,652 Chinese adults) aged 40-79 years.We also compared the ASCVD risk with the 10-year ischemic cardiovascular disease(ICVD) risk,which was calculated using the simplified scoring tables recommended by the Chinese Guidelines for Prevention of Cardiovascular Diseases(Chinese model).Results Based on the PCEs,the average 10-year ASCVD risk among adults without self-reported stroke or myocardial infraction was 12.5%.Approximately 247 million(47.4%) and 107 million(20.6%) adults had ≥ 7.5% and > 20% 10-year ASCVD risks,respectively.The 10-year ASCVD risk > 20% was higher among men,less educated individuals,smokers,drinkers,and physically inactive individuals than among their counterparts.Overall,29.0% of adults categorized using the Chinese model were overclassified with the PCEs.Conclusion Our results define the distribution of 10-year ASCVD risk among Chinese adults.The 10-year ASCVD risk predicted by the PCEs was higher than the ICVD risk predicted by the Chinese model. | ZHANG Mei JIANG Yong WANG Li Min LI Yi Chong HUANG Zheng Jing LI Jian Hong ZHOU Mai Geng ZHAO Wen Hua 无 | 2017 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2017,30,4: | 7 |
| 6 | The Cellular Toxicity of PM_(2.5) Emitted from Coal Combustion in Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cells显示文摘Objective To explore the relationship between different components of fine particulate matter(PM_(2.5))emitted from coal combustion and their cytotoxic effect in the vascular endothelial cells.Methods Coal-fired PM_(2.5) was sampled using a fixed-source dilution channel and flow sampler.The sample components were analyzed by ion chromatography and inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy(ICP-AES).The PM_(2.5) suspension was extracted using an ultrasonic water-bath method and then human umbilical vein endothelial cells(EA.hy926)were treated with various concentrations of the PM_(2.5) suspension.Cell proliferation,oxidative DNA damage,and global DNA methylation levels were used to measure the cellular toxicity of PM_(2.5) emitted from coal combustion.Results Compared to other types of coal-fired PM_(2.5) preparations,the PM_(2.5) suspension from Yinchuan coal had the highest cytotoxicity.PM_(2.5) suspension from Datong coal had the highest toxic effect while that from Yinchuan coal had the lowest.Exposure to coal-fired PM_(2.5) from Jingxi coal resulted in lower8-hydroxy-2'-deoxyguanosine(8-OHd G)levels.At the same dose,PM_(2.5) emitted from coal combustion could produce more severe DNA impairment compared to that produced by carbon black.Cell survival rate was negatively correlated with chloride and potassium ions content.The 5-methylcytosine(5-m C)level was positively correlated with Mn and negatively correlated with Zn levels.The 8-OHd G%level was positively correlated with both Mn and Fe.Conclusion PM_(2.5) emitted from coal combustion can decrease cell viability,increase global DNA methylation,and cause oxidative DNA damage in EA.hy926 cells.Metal components may be important factors that influence cellular toxicity. | WANG Fei Fei GENG Chun Mei HAO Wei Dong ZHAO Yong Dong LI Qin WANG Hong Mei QIAN Yan | 2016 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2016,29,2: | 5 |
| 7 | Diffusion mechanism simulation of cloud manufacturing complex network based on cooperative game theory显示文摘Cloud manufacturing is a specific implementation form of the 'Internet + manufacturing' strategy. Why and how to develop cloud manufacturing platform(CMP), however, remains the key concern of both platform operators and users. A microscopic model is proposed to investigate advantages and diffusion forces of CMP through exploration of its diffusion process and mechanism. Specifically, a three-stage basic evolution process of CMP is innovatively proposed. Then, based on this basic process, a more complex CMP evolution model has been established in virtue of complex network theory, with five diffusion forces identified. Thereafter, simulations on CMP diffusion have been conducted. The results indicate that, CMP possesses better resource utilization,user satisfaction, and enterprise utility. Results of simulation on impacts of different diffusion forces show that both the time required for CMP to reach an equilibrium state and the final network size are affected simultaneously by the five diffusion forces. | 8 | Prognostic value of clinicopathological characteristics in patients with pancreatic cancer显示文摘Background:The purpose of this study was to analyze me effects of all clinical characteristics on the overall survival time,in order to provide a basis for determining the prognostic factor of patients with pancreatic cancer.Methods:A total of 103 pancreatic cancer patients were admitted to the Department of Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy of the Ruijin Hospital,Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine,between January 2002 and December 2012.There were 68 men and 35 women;the median age was 62 years.Diagnoses of pancreatic cancer in all patients were confirmed by histopathology,cytology,or clinical diagnosis.The Kaplan-Meier method was performed to calculate the overall survival rate.The log-rank method was used to examine the univariate analysis.The Cox regression model was performed for multivariate analysis.Results:The median survival time was 293 days,the 1-,2-,and 3-year survival rates were 27.18%,5.83%,and 1.94%,respectively.Cox regression analysis revealed that age(P=0.015),Karnofsky performance status(PS)(P=0.002),surgical types(P<0.001),and platelet counts(P<0.001) were independent prognostic factors affecting the overall survival of patients with pancreatic cancer.Conclusions:Pancreatic cancer had a poor prognosis,the general physical condition,age,the availability of radical surgery,and platelet counts were factors influencing the overall survival of patients with pancreatic cancer. | Mei Geng Haoping Xu Ruobing Ren Qing Qu Chengfang Shangguan Junwei Wu Jinsong Jiang Hao Li Weiguo Cao | 2015 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2015,27,5: | 4 |

| 10 | Vegetable and Fruit Consumption among Chinese Adults and Associated Factors: A Nationally Representative Study of 170,847 Adults显示文摘Objective This study examined vegetable and fruit(VF) consumption rate and its associated factors among Chinese adults.Methods Nationally representative data from the 2013 China Chronic Disease Surveillance survey were used. Dietary intake data, including VF consumption during the last 12 months, were collected. All analyses were weighted to obtain nationally representative estimates. Associations between VF consumption and other factors(e.g., meal frequency and physical activity) were examined through logistic regression analysis.Results The average fruit consumption was 102.3 g/day(95% CI: 97.0‐107.6) and the average vegetable consumption was 350.6 g/day(95% CI: 339.3‐361.8). Over half(53.2%, 95% CI: 50.9‐55.4) of Chinese adults met the VF consumption of 400 g/day recommended by the World Health Organization(WHO). Rural residents had a higher prevalence of low VF consumption rate than urban residents[49.20%(95% CI: 46.2%‐52.2%) vs. 44.0%(95% CI: 41.7%‐46.3%) P < 0.01]. Old age(OR = 1.01, 95% CI:1.00‐1.01), low educational level, low income, minority ethnicity(OR = 1.41, 95% CI: 1.15‐1.74),underweight(OR = 1.17, 95% CI: 1.03‐1.33), single marital status(OR = 1.20, 95% CI: 1.08‐1.33), low health literacy, irregular breakfast(OR = 1.20, 95% CI: 1.04‐1.38) or lunch(OR = 1.58, 95% CI: 1.26‐1.99)habits, and no leisure‐time physical activity were associated with low VF consumption.Conclusion Only half of Chinese adults met the VF consumption recommended by the WHO. Low socio‐economic status, irregular diet, and poor health literacy were likely associated with low VF consumption. | 13 | Learning hyperspectral images from RGB images via a coarse-to-fine CNN显示文摘Hyperspectral remote sensing is well-known for its extraordinary spectral distinguishability to discriminate different materials.However,the cost of hyperspectral image(HSI)acquisition is much higher compared to traditional RGB imaging.In addition,spatial and temporal resolutions are sacrificed to obtain very high spectral resolution owing to the limitations of sensor technologies.Therefore,in this paper,HSIs are reconstructed using easily acquired RGB images and a convolutional neural network(CNN).As a result,high spatial and temporal resolution RGB images can be inherited to HSIs.Specifically,a two-stage CNN,referred to as the spectral super-resolution network(SSR-Net),is designed to learn the transformation model between RGB images and HSIs from training data,including a band prediction network(BP-Net)to estimate hyperspectral bands from RGB images and a refinement network(RF-Net)to further reduce spectral distortion in the band prediction step.As a result,the learned joint features in the proposed SSR-Net can directly predict HSIs from their corresponding scenes in RGB images without prior knowledge.Experimental results obtained on several benchmark datasets demonstrate that the proposed SSR-Net outperforms several state-of-the-art methods by ensuring higher quality in HSI reconstruction,and significantly improves the performance of traditional RGB images in classification. | Shaohui MEI Yunhao GENG Junhui HOU Qian DU | 2022 | Science China(Information Sciences)2022,65,5: | 3 |
| 14 | Decomposition of mixed rare earth concentrate by NaOH roasting and kinetics of hydrochloric acid leaching process显示文摘A new clean extraction technology for the decomposition of Bayan Obo mixed rare earth concentrate by NaOH roasting is proposed.The process mainly includes NaOH roasting to decompose rare earth concentrate and HCl leaching roasted ore.The effects of roasting temperature,roasting time,NaOH addition amount on the extraction of rare earth and factors such as HCl concentration,liquid-solid ratio,leaching temperature and leaching time on the dissolution kinetics of roasted ore were studied.The experimental results show that when the roasting temperature is 550℃and the roasting time is 60 min,the mass ratio of NaOH:rare earth concentrate is 0.60:1,the concentration of HCl is 6.0 mol/L,the ratio of liquid to solid(L/S)6.0:1.0,and the leaching temperature 90℃,leaching time 45 min,stirring speed 200 r/min,and the extraction of rare earth can reach 92.5%.The relevant experimental data show that the process of HCl leaching roasted ore conforms to the shrinking core model,but the control mechanism of the che mical reaction process is different when the leaching temperature is different.When the leaching temperature is between 40 and 70℃,the chemical reaction process is controlled by the diffusion of the product through the residual layer of the inert material.The average surface activation energy of the rare earth element is E_a=9.96 kJ/mol.When the leaching temperature is 75-90℃,the chemical reaction process is controlled by the interface transfer across the product layer(product layer interface mass transfer)and diffusion.The average surface activation energy of rare earth elements is E_a=41.65 kJ/mol.The results of this study have certain significance for the green extraction of mixed rare earth ore. | Mei Li Jianfei Li Dongliang Zhang Kai Gao Huihui Wang Wei Xu Jinlong Geng Xiaoyan Zhang Xiufen Ma | 2020 | Journal of Rare Earths2020,38,9: | 2 |

| 18 | Teicoplanin combined with conventional vancomycin therapy for the treatment of pulmonary methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus epidermidis infections显示文摘BACKGROUND Vancomycin and teicoplanin are both antibiotics that have significant antimicrobial effects on Gram-positive cocci.AIM To explore the value of teicoplanin combined with conventional(vancomycin only)anti-infective therapy for the treatment of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus epidermidis pulmonary infections.METHODS A total of 86 patients with methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus or methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus epidermidis pulmonary infections,treated in our hospital between January 2018 and February 2020,were assigned to the study and control groups using a random number table method,with 43 patients in each group.The control group received conventional treatment(vancomycin),and the study group received both teicoplanin and conventional treatment.The following indicators were assessed in both groups:the time required for symptom relief,treatment effectiveness,serum levels of inflammatory factors(procalcitonin,interleukin-1β,tumor necrosis factor-α,C-reactive protein),clinical pulmonary infection scores before and after treatment,and the incidence of adverse reactions.RESULTS Patients in the study group were observed to have faster cough and expectoration resolution,white blood cell count normalization,body temperature normalization,and rales disappearance than patients in the control group(all P<0.05);the total rate of effectiveness was 93.02%in the study group,higher than the 76.74%in the control group(P<0.05).The pre-treatment serum levels of procalcitonin,interleukin-1β,tumor necrosis factor-α,and C-reactive protein as well as the clinical pulmonary infection scores were similar among the patients in both groups.However,the post-treatment serum levels of procalcitonin,interleukin-1β,tumor necrosis factor-α,and C-reactive protein as well as the clinical pulmonary infection scores were significantly lower in the study group than in the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the groups.CONCLUSION Compared with conventional(vancomycin only)therapy,teicoplanin and vancomycin combination therapy for patients with pulmonary methicillinresistant Staphylococcus aureus and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus epidermidis infections can improve patient clinical symptoms,modulate serum inflammatory factor levels,and improve treatment efficacy,without increasing the risk of adverse reactions. | Wei Wu Min Liu Jia-Jing Geng Mei Wang | 2021 | World Journal of Clinical Cases2021,9,34: | 2 |
