| 2 | The role of light in regulating seed dormancy and germination^FA显示文摘Seed dormancy is an adaptive trait in plants. Breaking seed dormancy determines the timing of ger-mination and is, thereby essential for ensuring plant sur-vival and agricultural production. Seed dormancy and the subsequent germination are controlled by both internal cues (mainly hormones) and environmental signals. In the past few years, the roles of plant hormones in regulating seed dormancy and germination have been uncovered. However, we are only beginning to understand how light signaling pathways modulate seed dormancy and inter-action with endogenous hormones. | 3 | PIF1 and RVE1 form a transcriptional feedback loop to control light-mediated seed germination in Arabidopsis^FA显示文摘The phytochrome B (phyB) photoreceptor plays a major role that inputs light signals to regulate seed dormancy and germination. PHYTOCHROME-INTERACTING FACTOR1 (PIF1) is a key transcription factor repressing phyB-mediated seed germination, while REVEILLE1 (RVE1) factor functions as a curial regulator in controlling both seed dormancy and ger-mination. However, the relationship between the PIF1-and RVE1-modulated signaling pathways remains mostly unknown. Here, we find that PIF1 physically interacts with RVE1. Genetic analysis indicates that RVE1 inhibition on seed germination requires PIF1;re-ciprocally, the repressive effect of PIF1 is partially de-pendent on RVE1. Strikingly, PIF1 and RVE1 directly bind to the promoter and activate the expression of each other. Furthermore, PIF1 and RVE1 coordinately regulate the transcription of many downstream genes involved in abscisic acid and gibberellin pathways. Moreover, PIF1 enhances the DNA-binding ability and transcriptional repression activity of RVE1 in regulating GIBBERELLIN 3-OXIDASE2, and RVE1 promotes PIF1's DNA-binding ability in modulating ABSCISIC ACID-INSENSITIVE3 expression. | 5 | The Evening Complex and the Chromatin-Remodeling Factor PICKLE Coordinately Control Seed Dormancy by Directly Repressing DOG1 in Arabidopsis显示文摘Primary seed dormancy is acquired during seed development and maturation,which is important for plant fitness and survival.DELAY OF GERMINATION1(DOG1)plays a critical role in inducing seed dormancy.DOG1 expression increases rapidly during seed development,but the precise mechanism underlying this process remains elusive.In this study,we showed that mutants with a loss or reduced function of the chromatin-remodeling factor PICKLE(PKL)exhibit increased seed dormancy.PKL associates with DOG1 chromatin and inhibits its transcription.We found that PKL physically interacts with LUX ARRHYTHMO(LUX),a member of the evening complex(EC)of the circadian clock.Furthermore,LUX directly binds to a specific coding sequence of DOG1,and DOG1 acts genetically downstream of PKL and LUX.Mutations in either LUX or EARLY FLOWERING3(ELF3)encoding another member of the EC led to increased DOG1 expression and enhanced seed dormancy.Surprisingly,these phenotypes were abolished when the parent plants were grown under continuous light.In addition,we observed that loss of function of either PKL or LUX decreased H3K27me3 levels at the DOG1 locus.Taken together,our study reveals a regulatory mechanism in which EC proteins coordinate with PKL to transmit circadian signals for directly regulating DOG1 expression and seed dormancy during seed development. | Ping Zha Shuangrong Liu Yang Li Tingting Ma Liwen Yang Yanjun Jing Rongcheng Lin | 2020 | Plant Communications2020,1,2: | 3 |
| 6 | MYB106 is a negative regulator and a substrate for CRL3^(BPM) E3 ligase in regulating flowering time in Arabidopsis thaliana显示文摘Flowering time is crucial for successful reproduction in plants, the onset and progression of which are strictly controlled. However, flowering time is a complex and environmentally responsive history trait and the underlying mechanisms still need to be fully characterized. Post-translational regulation of the activities of transcription factors(TFs) is a dynamic and essential mechanism for plant growth and development. CRL3 BPME3 ligase is a CULLIN3-based E3 ligase involved in orchestrating protein stability via the ubiquitin proteasome pathway. Our study shows that the mutation of MYB106 induced early flowering phenotype while over-expression of MYB106 delayed Arabidopsis flowering. Transcriptome analysis of myb106 mutants reveals 257 differentially expressed genes between wild type and myb106-1 mutants, including Flowering Locus T(FT) which is related to flowering time. Moreover, in vitro electrophoretic mobility shift assays(EMSA), in vivo chromatin immunoprecipitation quantitative polymerase chain reaction(ChIP-q PCR) assays and dual luciferase assays demonstrate that MYB106 directly binds to the promoter of FT to suppress its expression. Furthermore, we confirm that MYB106 interacts with BPM proteins which are further identified by CRL3 BPME3 ligases as the substrate. | 8 | Screening,identification and antagonistic effect of antagonistic bacteria JTFM1001 against aflatoxin contamination in corn显示文摘Aflatoxin is a strong carcinogenic and toxic fungal toxin produced by Aspergillus flavus and other Aspergillus species,and can seriously threaten the health of consumers,thus becoming a global concern.Corn,as an important oil and economic crop,is highly susceptible contaminated by aflatoxin.In this study,antagonistic bacteria with strong inhibitory effect on aflatoxin were screened to provide support for the treatment aflatoxin contamination control in corn.Ten strains which have strong antagonistic effects against A.flavus were isolated from healthy corn from different corn producing areas in China.Among them,the antagonistic bacteria JTFM1001 through corn kernels in vivo and field experiment,the inhibition effect of aflatoxin contamination reached above 70%and 55%,respectively.And the strain was identified as Bacillus subtilis based on its morphological,physiological and biochemical characteristics and phylogenetic analysis of 16S rDNA.In addition,our data showed that it can colonize in the rhizosphere and survive for a long time,forming the dominant flora,with broad application prospect.Finally,we were surprised to find that the antibacterial metabolites secreted by the antagonistic bacteria was one of the mechanisms of its inhibition of A.flavus and aflatoxin.This will provide us with new ideas and perspectives on the effective prevention and control of aflatoxin contamination in corn and corn oil. | Jing Zhang Yu Wang Zhaolin Du Dasong Lin Lili Huo Li Qin Wei Wang Liwen Qiang Yanpo Yao Yi An | 2021 | Oil Crop Science2021,6,1: | 2 |
| 9 | A Matrilineal Genetic Legacy from the Last Glacial Maximum Confers Susceptibility to Schizophrenia in Han Chinese显示文摘Mitochondrial dysfunction has been widely reported in schizophrenia patients.To dissect the matrilineal structure of Han Chinese with or without schizophrenia and to decipher the maternal influence and evolutionary history of schizophrenia,a total of 1212 schizophrenia patients and 1005 matched healthy controls,all of Han Chinese origin,were recruited in Hunan Province,China.We classified haplogroup for each individual based on mitochondrial DNA(mtDNA) sequence variations and compared the haplogroup distribution pattern between cases and controls.Haplogroup B5 a presented a higher frequency in cases than in controls(P = 0.02,OR = 1.67,95%CI =[1.09,2.56]),and this result could be confirmed by permutation analysis.Age estimation of haplogroup B5 a in cases revealed a much younger age than that of controls,which was coincident with the Northern Hemisphere deglaciation at the end of the Last Glacial Maximum.Analysis of complete mtDNA in five patients belonging to haplogroup B5 a showed that this background effect might be caused by haplogroupdefining variants m.8584G>A and m.l0398A>G.Our results showed that matrilineal risk factor for schizophrenia had an ancient origin and might acquire a predisposing effect on schizophrenia due to the environment change and/or orchestration with other nuclear genetic factors appeared recently in human evolutionary history. | Wen Zhang Jinsong Tang A-Mei Zhang Min-Sheng Peng Hai-Bing Xie Liwen Tan Lin Xu Ya-Ping Zhang Xiaogang Chen Yong-Gang Yao | 2014 | Journal of Genetics and Genomics2014,41,7: | 2 |

| 14 | Boosting K-ion kinetics by interfacial polarization induced by amorphous MoO_(3-x)for MoSe_(2)/MoO_(3-x)@rGO composites显示文摘Promoting interfacial reaction kinetics is highly desirable for achieving high-performances of anode material in alkali-ion batteries.Herein,flower-like MoSe_(2)/MoO_(3-x)@r GO composites are fabricated by a facile solvothermal method involving a thermal-treatment at 800°C.When evaluated as an anode material for potassium ion batteries,MoSe_(2)/MoO_(3-x)@r GO delivers 248.2 m A h g^(-1)after 50 cycles at 0.2 A g^(-1) with a capacity retention of 84.6%and 182.9 m A h g^(-1)after 150 cycles at 1.0 A g^(-1) with a capacity retention of almost 61.2%,superior to those of bare MoSe_(2)or MoSe_(2)@r GO composites.Analysis from electrochemical measurements,the amorphous MoO_(3-x)containing oxygen vacancies could not only effectively buffer the self-aggregation of MoSe_(2)nanosheets but also provides lots of accessible active sites for potassium ion storage.Additionally,the open channels in the amorphous MoO_(3-x) phase lead to easier ion hopping and smaller diffusion barriers.Furthermore,the built-in electric field at the interface would be beneficial for electron transfer and K-ion migration across the hetero-junction interface.Moreover,larger dielectric polarization induced by the high relative permittivity of amorphous MoO_(3-x) would reduce charge transfer resistance and enhance K-ion migration across electric double-layer.Our work provides new insight into the enhanced performance of anode material coated by an amorphous layer with large relative permittivity. | Jiangshao Yang Liwen Liu Daoyi Wang Jianming Tao Yanming Yang Jiaxin Li Yingbin Lin Zhigao Huang | 2022 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,20: | 1 |

| 19 | Magnetically Recoverable PEI/Titanate@Fe_3O_4 Photocatalysts: Fabrication and Photocatalytic Properties显示文摘The magnetically separable ternary polyetherimide/titanate@Fe_3 O_4(PTF) photocatalysts of special heterostructure between magnetite(Fe_3 O_4) microspheres and titanates nanosheets modified by polyetherimide(PEI) were successfully fabricated via a simple facile hydrothermal deposition method. The as-prepared photocatalysts were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, Transmission electron microscopy and UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy etc. The results showed that the as-fabricated material had a structure of Fe_3 O_4 microspheres coated with titanates nanosheets modified by PEI. The special interfacial contact between 3 D microsphere and 2 D nanosheets in the nanoarchitectures was formed via electrostatic attraction. Furthermore, the resulted photocatalysts were tested by degradation reaction of methylene blue under visible light irradiation and demonstrated an enhanced performance than the pure Fe_3 O_4 microspheres, and the photocatalytic activity enhanced with the molar ratio of Fe_3 O_4 microspheres and modified titanate gradually, which was attributed to the expansion of the surface area and the different electrostatic contact between the Fe_3 O_4 microspheres and titanate nanosheets.
