| 1 | Isolation and characterization of H7N9 viruses from live poultry markets--Implication of the source of current H7N9 infection in humans显示文摘On March 31, 2013, the National Health and Family Planning Commission announced that human infections with a previously undescribed influenza A (H7N9) virus had occurred in Shanghai and Anhui Province, China. To investigate the possible origins of the H7N9 viruses causing these human infections, we collected 970 samples, including drinking water, soil, and cloacal and tracheal swabs of poultry from live poultry markets and poultry farms in Shanghai and Anhui Province. Twenty samples were positive for the H7N9 influenza virus. Notably, all 20 viruses were isolated from samples collected from live poultry markets in Shanghai. Phylogenetic analyses showed that the six internal genes of these novel human H7N9 viruses were derived from avian H9N2 viruses, but the ancestor of their HA and NA genes is uncertain. When we examined the phylogenetic relationship between the H7N9 isolates from live poultry markets and the viruses that caused the human infections, we found that they shared high homology across all eight gene segments. We thus identified the direct avian origin of the H7N9 influenza viruses that caused the human infections. Importantly, we observed that the H7N9 viruses isolated from humans had acquired critical mutations that made them more 'human-like'. | 3 | Differentiation of human adipose-derived stem cells into neuron-like cells by Radix Angelicae Sinensis显示文摘Human adipose tissues are an ideal source of stem cells.It is important to find inducers that can safely and effectively differentiate stem cells into functional neurons for clinical use.In this study,we investigate the use of Radix Angelicae Sinensis as an inducer of neuronal differentiation.Primary human adipose-derived stem cells were obtained from adult subcutaneous fatty tissue,then pre-induced with 10%Radix Angelicae Sinensis injection for 24 hours,and incubated in serum-free Dulbecco’s modified Eagle’s medium/Nutrient Mixture F-12 containing 40%Radix Angelicae Sinensis to induce its differentiation into neuron-like cells.Butylated hydroxyanisole,a common inducer for neuronal differentiation,was used as the control.After human adipose-derived stem cells differentiated into neuron-like cells under the induction of Radix Angelicae Sinensis for 24 hours,the positive expression of neuron-specific enolase was lower than that of the butylated hydroxyanisole-induced group,and the expression of glial fibrillary acidic protein was negative.After they were induced for 48 hours,the positive expression of neuron specific enolase in human adipose-derived stem cells was significantly higher than that of the butylated hydroxyanisole-induced group.Our experimental findings indicate that Radix Angelicae Sinensis can induce human adipose-derived stem cell differentiation into neuron-like cells and produce less cytotoxicity. | Qiaozhi Wang Lile Zhou Yong Guo Guangyi Liu Jiyan Cheng Hong Yu | 2013 | Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,35: | 3 |
| 4 | Observation of a bi-critical point between antiferromagnetic and superconducting phases in pressurized single crystal Ca0.73La0.27FeAs2显示文摘One of the most strikingly universal features of the high-temperature superconductors is that the superconducting phase emerges in the close proximity of the antiferromagnetic phase, and the interplay between these two phases poses a long-standing challenge. It is commonly believed that, as the antiferromagnetic transition temperature is continuously suppressed to zero, there appears a quantum critical point, around which the existence of antiferromagnetic fluctuation is responsible for the development of the superconductivity. In contrast to this scenario, we report the observation of a bi-critical point identified at 2.88 GPa and 26.02 K in the pressurized high-quality single crystal Ca_(0.73)La_(0.27)FeAs_2 by complementary in-situ high pressure measurements. | 5 | Boosting pH-Universal Hydrogen Evolution of Molybdenum Disulfide Particles by Interfacial Engineering显示文摘The design of high-efficiency non-noble and earth-abundant electrocatalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)is highly paramount for water splitting and renewable energy systems.Molybdenum disulfide(MoS_(2))with abundant edge sites can be utilized as a promising alternative,but its catalytic activity is greatly related to the pH values,especially in an alkaline environment due to the extremely high energy barriers for water adsorption and dissociation steps.Here we report an exceptionally efficient and stable electrocatalyst to improve the sluggish HER process of layered MoS_(2)particles in different pH electrolytes,especially in base.The electrocatalyst is constructed by in situ growing selenium-doped MoS_(2)(Se-MoS_(2))nanoparticles on three-dimensional cobalt nickel diselenide(mCo_(0.2)Ni_(0.8)Se_(2))nanostructured arrays.Due to the large number of active edge sites of Se-MoS_(2)particles exposed at the surface,robust electrical conductivity and large surface area of mCo_(0.2)Ni_(0.8)Se_(2)support,and strong interfacial interactions between Se-MoS_(2)and mCo_(0.2)Ni_(0.8)Se_(2),this hybrid catalyst shows very outstanding catalytic HER properties featured by low overpotentials of 30 and 122 mV at 10 and 100 mA/cm^(2)with good operational stability in base,respectively,which outperforms most of inexpensive catalysts consisting of layered MoS_(2),transition metal selenides and sulfides,and it performs as well as noble Pt catalysts.Meanwhile,this electrocatalyst is also very active in neutral and acidic electrolytes,requiring low overpotentials of 93 and 94 mV at 10 mA/cm^(2),respectively,demonstrating its superb pH universality as a HER electrocatalyst with excellent catalytic durability.This study provides a straightforward strategy to construct an efficient non-noble electrocatalyst for driving the HER kinetics in different electrolytes. | Liling Liao Lun Yang Gang Zhao Haiqing Zhou Fengming Cai Yi Li Xiuzhang Wang Fang Yu | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Chemistry2021,39,2: | 2 |

| 14 | Interleukin-13 promotes cellular senescence through inducing mitochondrial dysfunction in IgG4-related sialadenitis显示文摘Immunoglobulin G4-related sialadenitis(IgG4-RS)is an immune-mediated fibro-inflammatory disease and the pathogenesis is still not fully understood.The aim of this study was to explore the role and mechanism of interleukin-13(IL-13)in the cellular senescence during the progress of IgG4-RS.We found that the expression of IL-13 and IL-13 receptorα1(IL-13Rα1)as well as the number of senescent cells were significantly higher in the submandibular glands(SMGs)of IgG4-RS patients.IL-13 directly induced senescence as shown by the elevated activity of senescence-associatedβ-galactosidase(SA-β-gal),the decreased cell proliferation,and the upregulation of senescence markers(p53 and p16)and senescence-associated secretory phenotype(SASP)factors(IL-1βand IL-6)in SMG-C6 cells.Mechanistically,IL-13 increased the level of phosphorylated signal transducer and activator of transcription 6(p-STAT6)and mitochondrial-reactive oxygen species(mt ROS),while decreased the mitochondrial membrane potential,ATP level,and the expression and activity of superoxide dismutase 2(SOD2).Notably,the IL-13-induced cellular senescence and mitochondrial dysfunction could be inhibited by pretreatment with either STAT6 inhibitor AS1517499 or mitochondria-targeted ROS scavenger Mito TEMPO.Moreover,IL-13 increased the interaction between p-STAT6 and c AMP-response element binding protein(CREB)-binding protein(CBP)and decreased the transcriptional activity of CREB on SOD2.Taken together,our findings revealed a critical role of IL-13 in the induction of salivary gland epithelial cell senescence through the elevated mitochondrial oxidative stress in a STAT6–CREB–SOD2-dependent pathway in IgG4-RS. | Mengqi Zhu Sainan Min Xiangdi Mao Yuan Zhou Yan Zhang Wei Li Li Li Liling Wu Xin Cong Guangyan Yu | 2022 | International Journal of Oral Science2022,14,3: | 1 |

| 16 | Pore Structure of Cement Pastes Blended with Volcanic Rock显示文摘The pore parameters of cement pastes blended with volcanic rock at the curing age of 1, 28 and 90 d were determined by a mercury intrusion porosimetry. The pore structure of the pastes was characterized through the analysis of porosity, average pore diameter, the most probable pore aperture, pore size distribution, as well as total pore volume. For the improvement of mechanical property and durability of cement-based material, the correlation of the formed pore structure with hydration time and replacement level of volcanic rock for cement was revealed. The results indicate that volcanic rock can diminish porosity and reduce pore size in cement paste when curing time prolongs, which is particularly prominent with replacement level of less than 20% in late period. The more harmful pores(i.e., capillary pore) are gradually transformed into harmless pore(i.e., gel pores or micropore), even fully filled and disappeared when hydration products increase. The pore structure of the cement paste is thus refined. | 17 | Pyk2 suppresses contextual fear memory in an autophosphorylation-independent manner显示文摘Clustered protocadherins(Pcdhs)are a large family of cadherin-like cell adhesion proteins that are central for neurite selfavoidance and neuronal connectivity in the brain.Their downstream nonreceptor tyrosine kinase Pyk2(proline-rich tyrosine kinase 2,also known as Ptk2b,Cakb,Raftk,Fak2,and Cadtk)is predominantly expressed in the hippocampus.We constructed Pyk2-null mouse lines and found that these mutant mice showed enhancement in contextual fear memory,without significant change in auditory-cued and spatial-referenced learning and memory.In addition,by preparing Y402F mutant mice,we observed that Pyk2 suppressed contextual fear memory in an autophosphorylation-independent manner.Moreover,using high-throughput RNA sequencing,we found that immediate early genes,such as Npas4,cFos,Zif268/Egr1,Arc,and Nr4a1,were enhanced in Pyk2-null mice.We further showed that Pyk2 disruption affected pyramidal neuronal complexity and spine dynamics.Thus,we demonstrated that Pyk2 is a novel fear memory suppressor molecule and Pyk2-null mice provide a model for understanding fearrelated disorders.These findings have interesting implications regarding dysregulation of the Pcdh–Pyk2 axis in neuropsychiatric disorders. | Jin Zheng Lun Suo Yuxiao Zhou Liling Jia Jingwei Li Yanping Kuang Donghong Cui Xuehong Zhang Qiang Wu | 2021 | Journal of Molecular Cell Biology2021,13,11: | 0 |
| 18 | No evidence of superconductivity in a compressed sample prepared from lutetium foil and H_(2)/N_(2) gas mixture显示文摘A material described as lutetium–hydrogen–nitrogen(Lu-H-N in short)was recently claimed to have“near-ambient superconductivity”[Dasenbrock-Gammon et al.,Nature 615,244–250(2023)].If this result could be reproduced by other teams,it would be a major scientific breakthrough.Here,we report our results of transport and structure measurements on a material prepared using the same method as reported by Dasenbrock-Gammon et al.Our x-ray diffraction measurements indicate that the obtained sample contains three substances:the facecentered-cubic(FCC)-1 phase(Fm-3m)with lattice parameter a=5.03Å,the FCC-2 phase(Fm-3m)with a lattice parameter a=4.755Å,and Lu metal.The two FCC phases are identical to the those reported in the so-called near-ambient superconductor.However,we find from our resistance measurements in the temperature range from 300 K down to 4 K and the pressure range 0.9–3.4 GPa and our magnetic susceptibility measurements in the pressure range 0.8–3.3 GPa and the temperature range down to 100 K that the samples show no evidence of superconductivity.We also use a laser heating technique to heat a sample to 1800 XC and find no superconductivity in the produced dark blue material below 6.5 GPa.In addition,both samples remain dark blue in color in the pressure range investigated. | Shu Cai Jing Guo Haiyun Shu Liuxiang Yang Pengyu Wang Yazhou Zhou Jinyu Zhao Jinyu Han Qi Wu Wenge Yang Tao Xiang Ho-kwang Mao Liling Sun | 2023 | Matter and Radiation at Extremes2023,8,4: | 0 |
