1Anisotropic coding metamaterials and their powerful manipulation of differently polarized terahertz waves显示文摘Metamaterials based on effective media can be used to produce a number of unusual physical properties(for example,negative refraction and invisibility cloaking)because they can be tailored with effective medium parameters that do not occur in nature.Recently,the use of coding metamaterials has been suggested for the control of electromagnetic waves through the design of coding sequences using digital elements‘0’and‘1,'which possess opposite phase responses.Here we propose the concept of an anisotropic coding metamaterial in which the coding behaviors in different directions are dependent on the polarization status of the electromagnetic waves.We experimentally demonstrate an ultrathin and flexible polarization-controlled anisotropic coding metasurface that functions in the terahertz regime using specially designed coding elements.By encoding the elements with elaborately designed coding sequences(both 1-bit and 2-bit sequences),the x-and y-polarized waves can be anomalously reflected or independently diffused in three dimensions.The simulated far-field scattering patterns and near-field distributions are presented to illustrate the dual-functional performance of the encoded metasurface,and the results are consistent with the measured results.We further demonstrate the ability of the anisotropic coding metasurfaces to generate a beam splitter and realize simultaneous anomalous reflections and polarization conversions,thus providing powerful control of differently polarized electromagnetic waves.The proposed method enables versatile beam behaviors under orthogonal polarizations using a single metasurface and has the potential for use in the development of interesting terahertz devices.Shuo Liu Tie Jun Cui Quan Xu Di Bao Liangliang Du Xiang Wan Wen Xuan Tang Chunmei Ouyang Xiao Yang Zhou Hao Yuan Hui Feng Ma Wei Xiang Jiang Jiaguang Han Weili Zhang Qiang Cheng 2016Light(Science & Applications)2016,5,1:36

3Effects of L-3-n-butylphthalide on caspase-3 and nuclear factor kappa-B expression in primary basal forebrain and hippocampal cultures after beta-amyloid peptide 1-42 treatment显示文摘BACKGROUND:L-3-n-butylphthalide(L-NBP) can inhibit phosphorylation of tau protein and reduce the neurotoxicity of beta-amyloid peptide 1-42(Aβ_(1-42)). OBJECTIVE:To observe the neuroprotective effects of L-NBP on caspase-3 and nuclear factor kappa-B(NF-κB) expression in a rat model of Alzheimer's disease. DESIGN,TIME AND SETTING:A cell experiment was performed at the Central Laboratory of Provincial Hospital affiliated to Shandong University between January 2008 and August 2008. MATERIALS:L-NBP(purity>98%) was provided by Shijiazhuang Pharma Group NBP Pharmaceutical Company Limited.Aβ_(1-42),3-[4,5-dimethylthiazolo-2]-2,5 iphenyltetrazolium bromide(MTT),and rabbit anti-Caspase-3 polyclonal antibody were provided by Cell Signaling, USA;goat anti-choactase and rabbit anti-NF-κB antibodies were provided by Santa Cruz,USA. METHODS:Primary cultures were generated from rat basal forebrain and hippocampal neurons at 17 or 19 days of gestation.The cells were assigned into five groups:the control group,the Aβ_(1-42) group(2μmol/ L),the Aβ_(1-42) + 0.1μmol/L L-NBP group,the Aβ_(1-42)+ 1μmol/L L-NBP group,and the Aβ_(1-42)+ 10μmol/L L-NBP group.The neurons were treated with Aβ_(1-42)(2μmol/L) alone or in combination with L-NBP(0.1,1,10μmol/L) for 48 hours.Cells in the control group were incubated in PBS. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:Morphologic changes were evaluated using inverted microscopy, viability using the MTT method,and the changes in caspase-3 and NF-κB expression using Western blot. RESULTS:Induction with Aβ_(1-42) for 48 hours caused cell death and soma atrophy,and increased caspase-3 and NF-κB expression(P<0.05).L-NBP blocked these changes in cell morphology, decreased caspase-3 and NF-κB expression(P<0.05),and improved cell viability,especially at the high dose(P<0.05). 7High open-circuit voltage solution-processed organic solar cells based on a star-shaped small molecule end-capped with a new rhodanine derivative显示文摘A new star-shaped small molecule named TCNR3TTPA,with a triphenylamine(TPA)unit as the central building block and2-(1,1-dicyanomethylene)-3-octyl rhodanine(CNR)as the end-capped group,has been designed and synthesized.TCNR3TTPA showed a deep highest occupied molecular orbital(HOMO)energy level( 5.60 e V)and broad absorption.The solution-processed bulk heterojunction(BHJ)solar cells based on TCNR3TTPA:PC61BM(1:1,w/w)exhibited a high open-circuit voltage(Voc)of 0.99 V,a short-circuit current density(Jsc)of 5.76 m A/cm2,and a power conversion efficiency(PCE)of 2.50%under the illumination of AM 1.5 G,100 m W/cm2.The high Voc is ascribed to the strong electron-with-drawing ability of the end-capped 2-(1,1-dicyanomethylene)-3-octyl rhodanine group.These results demonstrated that the Voc of small-molecule organic solar cells could be increased by introducing a strong electron-withdrawing end-capped block,and that this is an effective strategy to design high-performance small molecules for organic solar cells.Yuanhang Zhou Weichao Chen Zhengkun Du Dangqiang Zhu Dan Ouyang Liangliang Han Renqiang Yang 2015Science China Chemistry2015,58,2:0

10Identification of positive cofactor 4 as a diagnostic and prognostic biomarker associated with immune infiltration in hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘Background and aims:Human positive cofactor 4(PC4)is associated with the development and therapeutic resistance of several malignancies.However,the role of PC4 in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)remains obscure.Methods:The expression status of PC4 was explored in Gene Expression Omnibus and The Cancer Genome Atlas datasets.Subsequently,the prognostic and diagnostic significance of PC4 in HCC patients was analyzed.Functional enrichment analyses were conducted to explore biological functions and potential mechanisms.The CIBERSORT algorithm was used for immune infiltration analysis.The risk signature was constructed by LASSO-Cox regression and was validated with the International Cancer Genome Consortium dataset.Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction was used to verify the expression levels of all genes.Tumor Immune Dysfunction and Exclusion analysis evaluated immunotherapy response.Finally,using online databases,PC4-related competing endogenous RNA networks were constructed.Results:PC4 levels were significantly upregulated in HCC and positively correlated with the pathological grade and clinical stage.The PC4-high expression group showed worse prognosis.In addition,PC4 could distinguish between tumor and normal tissues with an area under the curve of 0.965.The PC4 level was associated with immune checkpoints and immune cell infiltration.In the training and validation sets,the eight-gene risk signature strongly correlated with HCC patient prognosis.Tumor Immune Dysfunction and Exclusion analysis showed that patients in both the PC4-low and low-risk groups were more likely to benefit from immunotherapy.Finally,an lncRNA/microRNA-101-3p/PC4 network was constructed.Conclusion:We confirmed PC4 as a diagnostic and prognostic biomarker in HCC patients.We also developed and validated an eight-gene risk signature,which will help in clinical decision-making.The competing endogenous RNA network could help explore the regulatory mechanisms of PC4 in HCC.Liangliang Bai Guan Liu Gang Dou Xiaojun He Chenyu Gong Hongbin Zhang Kai Tan Xilin Du 2023iLIVER2023,2,4:0
