1Putative hAPN receptor binding sites in SARS_CoV spike protein显示文摘AIM:To obtain the information of ligand-receptor binding between thd S protein of SARS_CoV and CD13, identify the possible interacting domains or motifs related to binding sites, and provide clues for studying the functions of SARS proteins and designing anti-SARS drugs and vaccines. METHODS: On the basis of comparative genomics, the homology search, phylogenetic analyses, and multi-sequence alignment were used to predict CD13 related interacting domains and binding sites sites in the S protein of SARS_CoV. Molecular modeling and docking simulation methods were employed to address the interaction feature between CD13 and S protein of SARS_CoV in validating the bioinformatics predictions. RESULTS:Possible binding sites in the SARS_CoV S protein to CD13 have been mapped out by using bioinformatics analysis tools. The binding for one protein-protein interaction pair (D757-R761 motif of the SARS_CoV S protein to P585-A653 domain of CD13) has been simulated by molecular modeling and docking simulation methods. CONCLUSION:CD13 may be a possible receptor of the SARS_CoV S protein which may be associated with the SARS infection. 2Identification of probable genomic packaging signal sequence from SARS—CoV genome by bioinformatics analysis显示文摘AIM:To predict the probable genomic packaging signal of SARS-CoV by bioinformatics analysis. The derived packaging signal may be used to design antisense RNA and RNA interfere (RANi) drugs treating SARS. methods: Based on the studies about the genomic packaging signals of MHV and BCoV, especially the information about primary and secondary structures, the putative genomic packaging signal of SARS_CoV were analyzed by using bioinformatic tools. Multi-alignment for the genomic sequences was performed among SARS-CoV,MHV,BCoV, PEDV and HCoV 229E. Secondary structures of RNA sequences were also predicted for the identification fo the possible genomic packaging signals. Meanwhile, the N and M proteins of all five viruses were analyzed to study the evolutionary relationship with genomic packaging signals. RESULTS: The putative genomic packaging signal of SARS-CoV locates at the 3′ end of ORF1b near that of MHV and BCoV, where is the most variable region of this gene. The RNA secondary structure of SARS-CoV genomic packaging signal is very similar to that of MHV and BCoV. The same result was also obtained in studying the genomic packaging signals of PEDV and HCoV 229E. Further more, the genomic sequence multi-alignment indicated that the locations of packaging signals of SARS-CoV, PEDV, and HCoV overlaped each other. It seems that the mutation rate of packaging signal sequences is much higher than the N protein, while only subtle variations for the M protein. CONCLUSIONS: The probable genomic packaging signal of SARS-CoV is analogous to that of MHV and BCoV, with the corresponding secondary RNA structure locating at the similar region of ORF1b. 3Design and analysis of extended depth of focus metalenses for achromatic computational imaging显示文摘Metasurface optics have demonstrated vast potential for implementing traditional optical components in an ultracompact and lightweight form factor.Metasurfaces,however,suffer from severe chromatic aberrations,posing serious limitations on their practical use.Eixisting approaches for circumventing this involving dispersion engineering are limited to small apertures and often entail multiple scatterers per unit cell with small feature sizes.Here,we prescnt an alternative technique to mitigatc chromatic aberration and demonstrate high-quality,full-color imaging using extended depth of focus(EDOF)metalenses and computational reconstruction.Previous EDOF metalenses have relied on cubic phase masks,where the image quality suffers from asymmetric artefacts.Here we demonstrate the use of rotationally symmetric masks,including logarithmic-aspherical,and shifted axicon masks,to mitigate this problem.Our work will inspire further development in achromatic metalenses beyond dispersion engineering and hybrid optical-digital metasurface systems.LUOCHENG HUANA JAMES WHITEHEAD SHANE COLBURN ARKA MAJUMDAR 2020Photonics Research2020,8,10:5

7Approaching 19%efficiency and stable binary polymer solar cells enabled by a solidification strategy of solvent additive显示文摘Additives play a crucial role in enhancing the photovoltaic performance of polymer solar cells(PSCs).However,the typical additives used to optimize blend morphology of PSCs are still high boiling-point solvents,while their trace residues may reduce device stability.Herein,an effective strategy of“solidification of solvent additive(SSA)”has been developed to convert additive from liquid to solid,by introducing a covalent bond into low-cost solvent diphenyl sulfide(DPS)to synthesize solid dibenzothiophene(DBT)in one-step,which achieves optimized morphology thus promoting efficiency and device stability.Owing to the fine planarity and volatilization of DBT,the DBT-processed films achieve ordered molecular crystallinity and suitable phase separation compared to the additive-free or DPS-treated ones.Importantly,the DBT-processed device also possesses improved light absorption,enhanced charge transport,and thus a champion efficiency of 17.9%is achieved in the PM6:Y6-based PSCs with an excellent additive component tolerance,reproducibility,and stability.Additionally,the DBT-processed PM6:L8-BO-based PSCs are further fabricated to study the universality of SSA strategy,offering an impressive efficiency approaching19%as one of the highest values in binary PSCs.In conclusion,this article developed a promising strategy named SSA to boost efficiency and improve stability of PSCs.Manjun Xiao Longfei Liu Yongdie Meng Baobing Fan Wenyan Su Conggui Jin Luocheng Liao Fan Yi Chao Xu Rui Zhang Alex K.-Y.Jen Wei Ma Qunping Fan 2023Science China Chemistry2023,66,5:1

10Synthesis of Al_2OC Compound by Carbothermal Reduction Process with Boron Oxide Additive显示文摘The synthesis method of Al2 OC by adding B2O3 was studied to modulate the traditional synthesis process. The mixtures of active carbon,alumina and boron oxide with different carbon contents were heated at 1 700 ℃ for 2 h in flowing argon atmosphere to get the Al2 OC product.The results indicate that the addition of B2O3 promotes the formation of Al2 OC,which is dependent on the addition of B2O3,and the Al2 OC content in the products increases with the increase of carbon. 11A General Framework for Intelligent IoT Data Acquisition and Sharing in an Untrusted Environment Based on Blockchain显示文摘Traditional Io T systems suffer from high equipment management costs and difficulty in trustworthy data sharing caused by centralization.Blockchain provides a feasible research direction to solve these problems. The main challenge at this stage is to integrate the blockchain from the resourceconstrained Io T devices and ensure the data of Io T system is credible. We provide a general framework for intelligent Io T data acquisition and sharing in an untrusted environment based on the blockchain, where gateways become Oracles. A distributed Oracle network based on Byzantine Fault Tolerant algorithm is used to provide trusted data for the blockchain to make intelligent Io T data trustworthy. An aggregation contract is deployed to collect data from various Oracle and share the credible data to all on-chain users. We also propose a gateway data aggregation scheme based on the REST API event publishing/subscribing mechanism which uses SQL to achieve flexible data aggregation. 12Fast extended depth of focus meta-optics for varifocal functionality显示文摘Extended depth of focus(EDOF)optics can enable lower complexity optical imaging systems when compared to active focusing solutions.With existing EDOF optics,however,it is difficult to achieve high resolution and high collection efficiency simultaneously.The subwavelength spacing of scatterers in a meta-optic enables the engineering of very steep phase gradients;thus,meta-optics can achieve both a large physical aperture and a high numerical aperture.Here,we demonstrate a fast(f/1.75)EDOF meta-optic operating at visible wavelengths,with an aperture of 2 mm and focal range from 3.5 mm to 14.5 mm(286 diopters to 69 diopters),which is a 250×elongation of the depth of focus relative to a standard lens.Depth-independent performance is shown by imaging at a range of finite conjugates,with a minimum spatial resolution of∼9.84μm(50.8 cycles/mm).We also demonstrate operation of a directly integrated EDOF meta-optic camera module to evaluate imaging at multiple object distances,a functionality which would otherwise require a varifocal lens.James E.M.Whitehead Alan Zhan Shane Colburn Luocheng Huang Arka Majumdar 2022Photonics Research2022,10,3:0
