5New insights into the interplay between long non-coding RNAs and RNA-binding proteins in cancer显示文摘With the development of proteomics and epigenetics,a large number of RNA-binding proteins(RBPs)have been discovered in recent years,and the inter-action between long non-coding RNAs(lncRNAs)and RBPs has also received increasing attention.It is extremely important to conduct in-depth research on the lncRNA-RBP interaction network,especially in the context of its role in the occurrence and development of cancer.Increasing evidence has demonstrated that lncRNA-RBP interactions play a vital role in cancer progression;there-fore,targeting these interactions could provide new insights for cancer drug discovery.In this review,we discussed how lncRNAs can interact with RBPs to regulate their localization,modification,stability,and activity and discussed the effects of RBPs on the stability,transport,transcription,and localization of lncRNAs.Moreover,we explored the regulation and influence of these inter-actions on lncRNAs,RBPs,and downstream pathways that are related to can-cer development,such as N6-methyladenosine(m6A)modification of lncRNAs.In addition,we discussed how the lncRNA-RBP interaction network regulates cancer cell phenotypes,such as proliferation,apoptosis,metastasis,drug resis-tance,immunity,tumor environment,and metabolism.Furthermore,we sum-marized the therapeutic strategies that target the lncRNA-RBP interaction net-work.Although these treatments are still in the experimental stage and various theories and processes are still being studied,we believe that these strategiesmay provide new ideas for cancer treatment.Zi-Ting Yao Yan-Ming Yang Miao-Miao Sun Yan He Long Liao Kui-Sheng Chen Bin Li 2022Cancer Communications2022,42,2:13
6DEHP exposure destroys blood-testis barrier (BTB) integrity of immature testes through excessive ROS-mediated autophagy显示文摘Di-(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate(DEHP),is known to impair testicular functions and reproduction.However,its effects on immature testis Blood-testis barrier(BTB)and the underlying mechanisms remain obscure.We constructed a rat model to investigate the roles of autophagy in BTB toxicity induced by DEHP.SpragueeDawley rats were developmentally exposed to 0,250 and 500 mg/kg DEHP via intragastric administration from postnatal day(PND)1 to PND 35.Testicular morphology,expressions of BTB junction proteins and autophagy related proteins were detected.In addition,expressions of oxidative stress markers were also analyzed.Our results demonstrated that developmental DEHP exposure induced decreasing organ coefficients of immature testes and severe testicular damage in histomorphology.The expressions of junctional proteins were down-regulated significantly after DEHP treatment.Intriguingly,DEHP simultaneously increased the number of autophagosomes and the levels of autophagy marker LC3-II and p62,suggesting that the accumulated autophagosomes resulted from impaired autophagy degradation.Moreover,the expressions of HO-1 and SOD levels remarkably decreased after DEHP exposure.Vitamins E and C could alleviate the DEHP-induced oxidative stress,reverse the autophagy defect and restore the BTB impairment.Taken together,DEHP exposure destroys immature testis blood-testis barrier(BTB)integrity through excessive ROSmediated autophagy.W.E.I.Yi Tang Xiang-Liang Zhou Yu Liu Bin Shen Lian-Ju Long Chun-lan L.I.N.Tao H.E.Da-wei W.U.Sheng-de W.E.I.Guang-hui 2018Genes & Diseases2018,5,3:11
7The enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP显示文摘In this paper we present the enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP. eXTP is a space science mission designed to study fundamental physics under extreme conditions of density, gravity and magnetism. The mission aims at determining the equation of state of matter at supra-nuclear density, measuring effects of QED, and understanding the dynamics of matter in strong-field gravity. In addition to investigating fundamental physics, eXTP will be a very powerful observatory for astrophysics that will provide observations of unprecedented quality on a variety of galactic and extragalactic objects. 10A case study of development and application of a streamlined control and response modeling system for PM_(2.5)attainment assessment in China显示文摘This article describes the development and application of a streamlined air control and response modeling system with a novel response surface modeling-linear coupled fitting method and a new module to provide streamlined model data for PM_(2.5) attainment assessment in China.This method is capable of significantly reducing the dimensions required to establish a response surface model,as well as capturing more realistic response of PM_(2.5) to emission changes with a limited number of model simulations.The newly developed module establishes a data link between the system and the Software for Model Attainment Test—Community Edition(SMAT-CE),and has the ability to rapidly provide model responses to emission control scenarios for SMAT-CE using a simple interface.The performance of this streamlined system is demonstrated through a case study of the Yangtze River Delta(YRD) in China.Our results show that this system is capable of reproducing the Community Multi-Scale Air Quality(CMAQ) model simulation results with maximum mean normalized error < 3.5%.It is also demonstrated that primary emissions make a major contribution to ambient levels of PM_(2.5) in January and August(e.g.,more than50%contributed by primary emissions in Shanghai),and Shanghai needs to have regional emission control both locally and in its neighboring provinces to meet China's annual PM_(2.5)National Ambient Air Quality Standard.The streamlined system provides a real-time control/response assessment to identify the contributions of major emission sources to ambient PM_(2.5)(and potentially O_3 as well) and streamline air quality data for SMAT-CE to perform attainment assessments.Shicheng Long Yun Zhu Carey Jang Che-Jen Lin Shuxiao Wang Bin Zhao Jian Gao Shuang Deng Junping Xie Xuezhen Qiu 2016Journal of Environmental Sciences2016,28,3:9
11On the designing principles and optimization approaches of bio-inspired self-organized network: a survey显示文摘A plethora of studies on self-organization has been carried out in broad areas including chemistry, biology, astronomy, medical science, telecommunications, etc., in both academia and industry. Following the studies on swarm intelligence observed in social species, the artificial self-organized systems are expected to exhibit some intelligent features (e.g., flexibility, robustness, decentralized control, self-evolution, etc.) that may have made social species so successful in the biosphere. In this paper, the application of swarm intelligence in communications networks will be studied, and we survey different aspects of bio-inspired mechanisms and examine various algorithms that have been proposed to improve the performance of artificial systems. Some fundamental self-organized networking (SON) mechanisms, designing principles and optimization approaches for artificial systems will then be investigated, followed by some well-known bio-inspired algorithms (e.g., cooperation, division of labor, distributed network synchronization, load balancing, etc.) as well as their applications to the maintenance/operation/optimization of artificial systems being analyzed. Besides, some new emerging technologies, such as the Self-X capabilities and cognitive machine-to-machine (M2M) optimization for the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) Long Term Evolution (LTE)/LTE-Advanced systems, are also surveyed. 12Effects of SLCO1 Bl and GATM gene variants on rosuvastatin-induced myopathy are unrelated to high plasma exposure of rosuvastatin and its metabolites显示文摘Myotoxicity is a sign ificant factor contributi ng to the poor adhere nee and reduced effective ness in the treatme nt of statins. Gen etic variations and high drug plasma exposure are considered as critique causes for statin-induced myopathy (SIM). This study aims to explore the sequential influences of rosuvastatin (RST) pharmacokinetic and myopathy-related single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) on the plasma exposure to RST and its metabolites: rosuvastatin lactone (RSTL) and /V-desmethyl rosuvastatin (DM-RST), and further on RST-induced myopathy. A total of 758 Chinese patients with coronary artery disease were enrolled and followed up SIM incidents for 2 years. The plasma concentrations of RST and its metabolites were determined through a validated ultra-performanee liquid chromatography mass spectrometry method. Nine SNPs in six genes were genotyped by using the Sequenom MassArray iPlex platform. Results revealed that ABCG2 rs2231142 variations were highly associated with the plasma concentrations of RST, RSTL, and DM-RST (Pad)<0.01, FDR < 0.05). CYP2C9 rs1057910 significantly affected the DM-RST concentration (Padj <0.01, FDR < 0.05). SLCO1B1 rs4149056 variant allele was significantly associated with high SIM risk (OR: 1.741, 95% Cl: 1.180-2.568, P = 0.0052, FDR = 0.0468). Glycine amidinotransferase (GATM) rs9806699 was marginally associated with SIM incidents (OR: 0.617, 95% Cl: 0.406-0.939, P = 0.0240, FDR = 0.0960). The plasma concentrations of RST and its metabolites were not significantly different between the SIM (n = 51) and control groups (n=707)(all P > 0.05). 13Numerical investigation of turbulent flow coherent structures in annular jet pumps using the LES method显示文摘Annular jet pumps that are used in hydraulic machinery have a very simple structure but very complex internal flow fields. Large eddy simulations were used to study the coherent structures in the turbulent flows in annular jet pumps with various area ratios,m. The distribution, movement and evolution of the coherent structure in the annular jet pumps are described based on vorticity,pressure and Q criteria. All the criteria demonstrate that the vortexes are mainly distributed in the recirculation region and in the mixing and the boundary layers, which have large velocity gradients. The various characteristics of the coherent structures are shown by the different criteria with the vorticity criterion describing the distribution, movement and evolution of the vortexes,the pressure criterion describing the movement and the Q criterion describing the vortex movement and evolution. The vorticity variation in the spanwise direction is larger than the variation in the streamwise direction; however, the streamwise vortex is the main mechanism driving the entrainment of the secondary flow and the mixing. The annular jet pump with m=3.33 had a higher vortex shedding frequency(about 1000 Hz) than that with m=1.72(313–417 Hz). The azimuthal instability is the main reason for the generation of the streamwise vortex from the spanwise vortex. 14A review of cavitation in tip-leakage flow and its control显示文摘The tip-leakage vortex(TLV)cavitation is a challenging issue for a variety of axial hydraulic turbines and pumps from both technical and scientific viewpoints.The flow characteristics of the TLV cavitation were widely studied in the past decades,but the knowledge about the tip-leakage cavitating flow is still limited.The present paper reviews the progresses in the researches of the TLV cavitation,including the numerical methods for the TLV cavitation,the flow characteristics of the TLV,the influences of the TLV cavitation on the local flow field and the control strategies of the TLV cavitation.It is indicated that the non-condensable gas may play an important role in the development of the TLV cavitation,and this fact should be considered during a careful simulation of the TLV cavitation.It is also suggested that the development of the TLV cavitation will significantly influence the distributions of the vorticity and the turbulence kinetic energy.Due to the complexity of the TLV cavitation,it is still an open question how to suppress the TLV cavitation in a simple but effective way.Finally,based on these understandings,some advanced topics for the future work are suggested to further promote the study of the TLV cavitation,for a deeper knowledge about the TLV cavitation.Huai-yu Cheng Bin Ji Xin-ping Long Wen-xin Huai Mohamed Farhat 2021Journal of Hydrodynamics2021,33,2:8

16Dietary supplementation of Lonicera macranthoides leaf powder improves amino acid profiles in serum and longissimus thoracis muscle of growing-finishing pigs显示文摘A 60-days feeding trial was conducted to determine the effect of dietary supplementation of Lonicera macranthoides leaf(LML) on growth performance, meat quality, and free amino acid profiles in growingfinishing pigs. L. macranthoides leaves were harvested, air-dried and milled to powder. A total of 288 crossbred barrows(Large White x Landrace) with an average initial BW of 54.0 ± 3.4 kg were randomly allocated to 3 treatment groups and fed either a basal diet or a diet supplemented with 0.5% or 1.0% LML powder. Results showed that diet supplemented with LML powder did not affect average daily feed intake(ADFI) and feed: gain ratio(P> 0.05) in growing-finishing pigs. Moreover, diet supplemented with LML powder showed no significant effects on carcass traits(P > 0.05) including dressing percentage,backfat thickness and loin muscle area, and meat quality traits(P > 0.05) including meat color, intramuscular fat and cooking loss. However, diet supplemented with LML powder significantly improved free amino acid profiles in serum and longissimus thoracis muscle in growing-finishing pigs. Most importantly, dietary LML powder increased total free amino acids content(P < 0.001) and essential free amino acid content(P < 0.001) in longissimus thoracis muscle. 18Insight-HXMT:China's First X-Ray Astronomical Satellite显示文摘The Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope(HXMT) satellite is the first X-ray astronomical satellite in China. Utilizing the 'direct demodulation image reconstruction method', HXMT will perform broad band(1-250 keV) survey of large sky areas in scanning mode, which can result in source detection characterized with high sensitivity and spatial resolution. Point observation is another key working mode of HXMT, and is specified for observations of galactic bright sources like X-Ray Binary(XRB) and others. Additionally, HXMT also has a powerful capability developed for monitoring gamma-ray bursts, which is quite unique in the world due to its energy coverage of 200 keV-3 MeV and largest detection area. The HXMT satellite was launched by a Long March 4 B(LM-4 B) rocket from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center on June 15, 2017. 19A draft sequence of the rice (Oryza sativa ssp. indica) genome显示文摘The sequence of the rice genome holds fundamental information for its biology, including physiology, genetics, development, and evolution, as well as information on many beneficial phenotypes of economic significance. Using a 'whole genome shotgun' approach, we have pro-duced a draft rice genome sequence of Oryza sativa ssp. in-dica, the major crop rice subspecies in China and many other regions of Asia. The draft genome sequence is constructed from over 4.3 million successful sequencing traces with an accumulative total length of 2214.9 Mb. The initial assembly of the non-redundant sequences reached 409.76 Mb in length, based on 3.30 million successful sequencing traces with a total length of 1797.4 Mb from an indica variant cultivar 93-11, giving an estimated coverage of 95.29% of the rice genome with an average base accuracy of higher than 99%. 20Prediction of the precessing vortex core in the Francis-99 draft tube under off-design conditions by using Liutex/Rortex method显示文摘The turbulent flow in the draft tube of a Francis turbine is very complicated while working under off-design conditions. Although the off-design conditions were widely studied, the vortex core line in the draft tube of a Francis turbine with splitter blades is not well understood, especially the vortex rope property. This letter presents a prediction of the behavior of the vortex rope in the draft tube of the Francis-99 turbine obtained by the computational fluid dynamics (CFD), where the Liutex/Rortex method, as the most recent vortex definition, is applied to analyze the periodical precession of the vortex rope in the draft tube cone. The advantage of this Liutex/Rortex method is shown by its enhanced ability to represent the vortex rope structurewith the vortex-core lines. Furthermore, since it seems to be very hard to define a sharp boundary surface for the whole vortex structure, it is advantageousfocusing only on the vortex core line,by which different vortex structures can be clearly differentiated.
