3Progress and recent trend in MILD combustion显示文摘Moderate or intense low oxygen dilution(MILD)combustion plays a significant role in the mitigation of combustion-generated pollutants and greenhouse gases whilst meeting thermal efficiency needs.However,due to the lack of the fundamental knowledge on this combustion,there is a misconception that MILD combustion should be established by high preheating of the air,which has limited its application.Our research and development on this combustion has been performed for several years. 7Down-regulation of Hsp90 could change cell cycle distribution and increase drug sensitivity of tumor cells显示文摘:AIM To construct Hsp90 antisense RNAeukaryotic expression vector, transfect it intoSGC7901 and SGC7901/VCR of MDR-type humangastric cancer cell lines, HCC7402 of humanhepatic cancer and Eel09 of human esophagealcancer cell lines, and to study the cell cycledistribution of the gene transected cells andtheir response to chemotherapeutic drugs.METHODS A I .03kb cDNA sequence of Hsp90Pwas obtained from the primary plasmid phHsp90by EcoR 1 and BamH I nuclease digestion andwas cloned to the EcoR 1 and BamH 1 site ofthe pcDNA by T4DNA ligase and an antisenseorientation of Hsp900 expression vector wasconstructed. The constructs were transfectedwith lipofectamine and positive clones wereselected with G418. The expression of RNA wasdetermined with dot blotting and RNaseprotection assay, and the expression of Hsp90protein determined with Western blot. Cell cycledistribution of the transfectants was analyzedwith flow cytometry, and the drug sensitivity ofthe transfectants to adriamycin (ADR ),vincrinstine (VCR ), mitomycin (MMC ) andcyclophosphamide (CTX ) with MTT andintracellular drug concentration of thetransfectants was determined with flowcytometry.RESULTS In EcoR 1 and BamH I restrictionanalysis, the size and the direction of the clonedsequence of Hsp900 remained what had beendesigned and the gene constructs were namedpcDNA-Hsp90. AH^SGC7901, AH^SGC7901/ VCR,AH-HCC7402 and AH-Eel09 cell clones allexpressed Hsp90 anti--sense RNA. Theexpression of Hsp90 was down--regulated in AHSGC7901, AH--SGC7901/ VCR, AH-HCC7402 andAH--Eel09 cell clones. Cell cycle distribution waschanged differently. In AH-SGC7901/ VCR andAH-Ec109 cells, G, phase cells were increased; Sphase and G, phase cells were decreased ascompared with their parental cell lines. In AHSGC7901 cell, G, phase cells were decreased, Qphase cells increased and S phase cells were notchanged, and in AH-HCC7402 cells G,, S and qphase cells remained unchanged as comparedwith their parental cell lines. The sensitivity ofAH--SGC7901, AH--SGC7901/ VCR, AH-HCC7402 andAH-Ec109 to chemotherapeutic drugs, thesensitivity ot AH--SGC7901/ VCR to ADR, VCR,MMC and CTX the sensitivity of AH-HCC7402 toADR and VCR, and the sensitivity of Eel09 toADR, VCR and CTX all increased as comparedwith their parental cell lines. 8Zircon SHRIMP U-Pb dating of granites from Dulan and the chronological framework of the North Qaidam UHP belt, NW China显示文摘Zircon SHRIMP dating of granites from Dulan,east segment of North Qaidam UHP belt shows that they are 406.6±3.5 Ma for Yematan-E,407.3±4.3 and 397±6 Ma for Balijiehatan-W,404.5±4.0 and 397.0±3.7 Ma for Shuiwenzhan-N,380.5±5.0 Ma for Shuiwenzhan-S,382.5±3.6 and 372.5±2.8 Ma for Chachagongma.These granites from Dulan represent the products of the third and fourth periods of Paleozoic magmatism in North Qaidam.Geochemically,the granitoids with metalumious to weak peratuminous are quartz diorite,granodiorite,and granite in composition and mainly belong to calc-alkaline series,a few samples to calc or alkali-calc series.The third period of granites is a rock association of granodiorite+granite,with initial 87Sr/86Sr ratios from 0.7082 to 0.7110 and T2DM model ages from 1.41–1.90 Ga;and the fourth period of granites is a rock association of quartz diorite+granodiorite+granite,with initial 87Sr/86Sr ratios from 0.7072 to 0.7091 and T2DM model ages from 1.07–1.38 Ga.Therefore,the third period of granites has higher initial 87Sr/86Sr ratios and T2DM model ages.On the contrary,the fourth period of granites has Nd(t)values from 0.6 to-3.0,higher than that of the third granite with Nd(t)values-3.2 to-9.3.Thus,the data comparison indicates that the third granites may derive from Paleo-proterzoic continental crust with mantle material whereas the fourth granites may derive from the Meso-proterzoic basalt crust with continental material.Combined with regional geology,we thought that the third granites were formed relative to plate exhumation and the fourth granites to delamination of the lithospheric mantle.WU CaiLai GAO YuanHong LI ZhaoLi LEI Min QIN HaiPeng LI MinZe LIU ChunHua Ronald B FROST Paul T ROBINSON Joseph L WOODEN 2014Science China Earth Sciences2014,57,12:21

10Permian–Triassic Conodonts from Dajiang(Guizhou, South China) and Their Implication for the Age of Microbialite Deposition in the Aftermath of the End-Permian Mass Extinction显示文摘The widespread microbialites deposition that followed the End-Permian mass extinction in the Tethyan realm have been intensively studied because of the evidence they provide on the nature of this crisis and its aftermath. However, the age of the microbialite event remains controversial. New conodont collection across the Permian–Triassic(P–T) transition from Dajiang(Guizhou Province, South China) in this study enable us to discriminate four conodont zones, in ascending order, they are: Hindeodus parvus zone, Isarcicella lobata zone, Isarcicella isarcica zone and Hindeodus sosioensis zone. The age of microbialite in the P–T transition at the Dajiang Section is considered to be within the Hindeodus parvus zone and thus to clearly post-date the main extinction crisis. Reviewing the age of onset of microbialites throughout the Tethyan regions reveals two different ages: a Hindeodus changxingensis zone age is dominant in south-western and westernmost Tethys, whilst most other regions show microbialite deposition began in the Hindeodus parvus zone. 12Design of TRIP Steel With High Welding and Galvanizing Performance in Light of Thermodynamics and Kinetics显示文摘A new type of transformation induced plasticity (TRIP) steel with not only high strength and high ductility but also superior welding and galvanizing properties was designed and developed recently. Low carbon and low silicon content were preliminarily selected with the aim of meeting the requirements of superior quality in both welding and galvanizing. Phosphorus was chosen as one of the alloying elements, because it could reduce carbon activity in cementite and increase the stability of austenite. In addition, the possibility of phosphorus segregating at grain boundary was also discussed by thermodynamics as well as kinetics. Phase diagram was estimated at high temperature and the composition of the steel was then selected in the hyperperitectic range to avoid problems, which might occur in sheet steel continuous casting. Phase diagram in the inter-critical temperature was estimated for the steel to obtain the starting temperature of fast cooling. For understanding the minimum rate of fast cooling, pearlite growth kinetics was calculated with self-developed diffusion coefficients of elements in grain boundary. 14Monitoring the impact of climate change and human activities on grassland vegetation dynamics in the northeastern Qinghai-Tibet Plateau of China during 2000–2015显示文摘Climate change and human activities can influence vegetation net primary productivity(NPP), a key component of natural ecosystems. The Qinghai-Tibet Plateau of China, in spite of its significant natural and cultural values, is one of the most susceptible regions to climate change and human disturbances in the world. To assess the impact of climate change and human activities on vegetation dynamics in the grassland ecosystems of the northeastern Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, we applied a time-series trend analysis to normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI) datasets from 2000 to 2015 and compared these spatiotemporal variations with trends in climatic variables over the same time period. The constrained ordination approach(redundancy analysis) was used to determine which climatic variables or human-related factors mostly influenced the variation of NDVI. Furthermore, in order to determine whether current conservation measures and programs are effective in ecological protection and reconstruction, we divided the northeastern Qinghai-Tibet Plateau into two parts: the Three-River Headwater conservation area(TRH zone) in the south and the non-conservation area(NTRH zone) in the north. The results indicated an overall(73.32%) increasing trend of vegetation NPP in grasslands throughout the study area. During the period 2000–2015, NDVI in the TRH and NTRH zones increased at the rates of 0.0015/a and 0.0020/a, respectively. Specifically, precipitation accounted for 9.2% of the total variation in NDVI, while temperature accounted for 13.4%. In addition, variation in vegetation NPP of grasslands responded not only to long-and short-term changes in climate, as conceptualized in non-equilibrium theory, but also to the impact of human activities and their associated perturbations. The redundancy analysis successfully separated the relative contributions of climate change and human activities, of which village population and agricultural gross domestic product were the two most important contributors to the NDVI changes, explaining 17.8% and 17.1% of the total variation of NDVI(with the total contribution >30.0%), respectively. The total contribution percentages of climate change and human activities to the NDVI variation were 27.5% and 34.9%, respectively, in the northeastern Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. 16Developing a bacteriophage cocktail for biocontrol of potato bacterial wilt显示文摘Bacterial wilt is a devastating disease of potato and can cause an 80% production loss. To control wilt using bacteriophage therapy, we isolated and characterized twelve lytic bacteriophages from different water sources in Kenya and China. Based on the lytic curves of the phages with the pathogen Ralstonia solanacearum, one optimal bacteriophage cocktail, P1, containing six phage isolations was formulated and used for studying wilt prevention and treatment efficiency in potato plants growing in pots. The preliminary tests showed that the phage cocktail was very effective in preventing potato bacterial wilt by injection of the phages into the plants or decontamination of sterilized soil spiked with R. solanacearum. Eighty percent of potato plants could be protected from the bacterial wilt(caused by R. solanacearum reference strain GIM1.74 and field isolates), and the P1 cocktail could kill 98% of live bacteria spiked in the sterilized soil at one week after spraying.However, the treatment efficiencies of P1 depended on the timing of application of the phages, the susceptibility of the plants to the bacterial wilt, as well as the virulence of the bacteria infected,suggesting that it is important to apply the phage therapy as soon as possible once there are early signs of the bacterial wilt. 19The magnetic properties of Serbian loess and its environmental significance显示文摘This paper reports a loess-paleosol sequence located in the Danube River basin,Serbia,which formed at least since the latest part of the early Pleistocene,and before the paleomagnetic B/M boundary.Various magnetic parameters of the Serbian V-L1-V-S4 loess-paleosol sequence have been measured and analyzed in the Titel Loess Plateau.These parameters show a very similar magnetic behavior compared with that of the Chinese loess.There is a general positive relationship between magnetic susceptibility() and pedogenesis.The main contributors to are the magnetic grains of SP(superparamagnetic) and SD(single domain) magnetic domains,while MD(multi domain) contributes only a small percentage.The difference in between loess and paleosol mainly is caused by pedogenesis.The very fine magnetic minerals increase gradually with increasing soil development(from loess to soil),and they lead to higher.The thermomagnetic curves show thatmagnetic minerals in the loess layers are magnetite and maghemite,both providing a major contribution to.In contrast the paleosol layers mainly are composed of magnetite,with almost no or a very small amount of maghemite,as implied by a reversible thermomagnetic behavior.This indicates that pedogenic conditions during V-S3 and V-S4 strong soil development have resulted in maghemite that is no longer stable,and has been resolved or converted to other stable phase minerals.This likely indicates that soil moisture during V-S3 and V-S4 development exceeded a critical condition of maghemite stability.LIU XiuMing LIU Zhi Lü Bin MARKOVI S B CHEN JiaSheng GUO Hui MA MingMing ZHAO GuoYong FENG Hua 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,3:7
20Pathogenesis of hepatocarcinogenesis in non-cirrhotic nonalcoholic fatty liver disease:Potential mechanistic pathways显示文摘Although hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) primarily arises in the background of liver cirrhosis,the development of HCC in nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD) without cirrhosis is increasingly recognized. The pathogenesis of NAFLD associated non-cirrhotic HCC is distinct from that of cirrhotic HCC because the metabolic syndrome(MS) along with obesity and insulin resistance(IR) underlie several unique mechanisms that promote tumorigenesis. IR associated with MS,NAFLD,and type 2 diabetes mellitus lead to the release of multiple pro-inflammatory cytokines,including tumor necrosis factor alpha,interleukin-6,leptin and resistin,as well as decreased amounts of adiponectin. These processes favor the development of hepatic steatosis and inflammation within the liver,which precede HCC development.
