Clinical characteristics of novel coronavirus cases in tertiary hospitals in Hubei Province显示文摘Background:The 2019 novel coronavirus(2019-nCoV)causing an outbreak of pneumonia in Wuhan,Hubei province of China was isolated in January 2020.This study aims to investigate its epidemiologic history, and analyze the clinical characteristics, treatment regimens, and prognosis of patients infected with 2019-nCoV during this outbreak. Methods:Clinical data from 1372019-nCoV-infected patients admitted to the respiratory departments of nine tertiary hospitals in Hubei province from December 30,2019 to January 24,2020 were retrospectively collected, including general status, clinical manifestations, laboratory test results, imaging characteristics, and treatment regimens. Results:None of the 137 patients(61 males,76 females, aged 20-83 years, median age 57 years)had a definite history of exposure to Huanan Seafood Wholesale Market.Major initial symptoms included fever(112/137,81.8%),coughing(66/137,48.2%),and muscle pain or fatigue(44/137,32.1%),with other, less typical initial symptoms observed at low frequency, including heart palpitations, diarrhea, and headache.Nearly 80%of the patients had normal or decreased white blood cell counts, and 72.3%(99/137)had lymphocytopenia.Lung involvement was present in all cases, with most chest computed tomography scans showing lesions in multiple lung lobes, some of which were dense;ground-glass opacity co-existed with consolidation shadows or cord-like shadows.Given the lack of effective drugs, treatment focused on symptomatic and respiratory support.Immunoglobulin G was delivered to some critically ill patients according to their conditions.Systemic corticosteroid treatment did not show significant benefits.Notably, early respiratory support facilitated disease recovery and improved prognosis. The risk of death was primarily associated with age, underlying chronic diseases, and median interval from the appearance of initial symptoms to dyspnea. Conclusions:The majority of patients with 2019-nCoV pneumonia present with fever as the first symptom, and most of them still showed typical manifestations of viral pneumonia on chest imaging.Middle-aged and elderly patients with underlying comorbidities are susceptible to respiratory failure and may have a poorer prognosis.Kui Liu Yuan-Yuan Fang Yan Deng Wei Liu Mei-Fang Wang Jing-Ping Ma Wei Xiao Ying-Nan Wang Min-Hua Zhong Cheng-Hong Li Guang-Cai Li Hui-Guo Liu 2020Chinese Medical Journal2020,,9:100
Effects of different resuscitation fluid on severe acute pancreatitis显示文摘AIM: To compare effects of different resuscitation fluid on microcirculation, inflammation, intestinal barrier and clinical results in severe acute pancreatitis (SAP). METHODS: One hundred and twenty patients with SAP were enrolled at the Pancreatic Disease Institute between January 2007 and March 2010. The patients were randomly treated with normal saline (NS group), combination of normal saline and hydroxyethyl starch (HES) (SH group), combination of normal saline, hydroxyethyl starch and glutamine (SHG group) in resuscitation. The ratio of normal saline to HES in the SH and SHG groups was 3:1. The glutamine (20% glutamine dipeptide, 100 mL/d) was supplemented into the resuscitation liquid in the SHG group. Complications and outcomes including respiratory and abdominal infection, sepsis, abdominal hemorrhage, intra-abdominal hypertension, abdominal compartment syndrome (ACS), renal failure, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS), operation intervention, length of intensive care unit stay, length of hospital stay, and mortality at 60 d were compared. Moreover, blood oxygen saturation (SpO 2 ), gastric intramucosal pH value (pHi), intra-abdominal pressure (IAP), inflammation cytokines, urine lactulose/mannitol (L/M) ratio, and serum endotoxin were investigated to evaluate the inflammatory reaction and gut barrier. RESULTS: Compared to the NS group, patients in the SH and SHG groups accessed the endpoint more quickly (3.9 ± 0.23 d and 4.1 ± 0.21 d vs 5.8 ± 0.25 d, P < 0.05) with less fluid volume (67.26 ± 28.53 mL/kg/d, 61.79 ± 27.61 mL/kg per day vs 85.23 ± 21.27 mL/kg per day, P < 0.05). Compared to the NS group, incidence of renal dysfunction, ARDS, MODS and ACS in the SH and SHG groups was obviously lower. Furthermore, incidence of respiratory and abdominal infection was significantly decreased in the SH and SHG groups, while no significant difference in sepsis was seen. Moreover, less operation time was needed in the SH and SHG group than the NS group, but the difference was not significant. The mortality did not differ significantly among these groups. Blood SpO 2 and gastric mucosal pHi in the SH and SHG groups increased more quickly than in the NS group, while IAP was significantly decreased in the SH and SHG group. Moreover, the serum tumor necrosis factor-α, interleukin-8 and C-reactive protein levels in the SH and SHG groups were obviously lower than in the NS group at each time point. Furthermore, urine L/M ratio and serum endotoxin were significantly lower in the SH group and further decreased in the SHG group.CONCLUSION: Results indicated that combination of normal saline, HES and glutamine are more efficient in resuscitation of SAP by relieving inflammation and sustaining the intestinal barrier.Gang Zhao Jun-Gang Zhang He-Shui Wu Jin Tao Qi Qin Shi-Chang Deng Yang Liu Lin Liu Bo Wang Kui Tian Xiang Li Shuai Zhu Chun-You Wang 2013World Journal of Gastroenterology2013,19,13:56

Shenling Baizhu Powder (参苓白术散) Ameliorates Pi (Spleen)-Deficiency-Induced Functional Diarrhea in Rats显示文摘Objective To explore the mechanism of Pi(Spleen)-deficiency-induced functional diarrhea(FD)model rats treated by Shenling Baizhu Powder(参苓白术散,SBP).Methods Thirty male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into 5 groups including control,model,low-,medium-,and high-dose SBP groups(SBPLDG,SBPMDG,SBPHDG),6 rats in each group,respectively.Pi-deficiency-induced FD rats model was developed through Radix et Rhizoma Rhei gavage for 7 days. After modeling, the rats were treated with 3 doses of SBP[0.93,1.86,and 3.72 g/(kg·d)],and the rats in the control and model groups were given pure water for 7 days. The diarrhea index was calculated. On the 7th and 14th days, the traveled distance of rat was measured by the open field test.Serum D-xylose content was determined by the phloroglucinol method and interleukin(IL)-10 and IL-17 levels were measured using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay kit.The content of Treg cells was determined by flow cytometry. Results Compared with the control group, the diarrhea index and IL-17 level in the model group were significantly higher and the total exercise distance and D-xylose content significantly decreased(P>0.05).The expression of IL-10 in the SBPHDG group was significantly up-regulated,and serum D-xylose level and Treg cells increased significantly compared with the model group(P>0.05).Conclusion High-dose SBP exhibited ameliorating effects against Pi-deficiency induced FD,which might be attributed to its modulations on intestinal absorption function as well as adaptive immunity in mesenteric lymph nodes of rat.XIAO Yi ZHANG Kui ZHU Si-yu DENG Xiang-liang CHEN Xiao-yin FU Nan-lin CHEN Jia 2021Chinese Journal of Integrative Medicine2021,27,3:10
CD147-spike protein is a novel route for SARS-CoV-2 infection to host cells显示文摘In face of the everlasting battle toward COVID-19 and the rapid evolution of SARS-CoV-2,no specific and effective drugs for treating this disease have been reported until today.Angiotensin-converting enzyme 2(ACE2),a receptor of SARS-CoV-2,mediates the virus infection by binding to spike protein.Although ACE2 is expressed in the lung, kidney, and intestine, its expressing levels are rather low, especially in the lung.Considering the great infectivity of COVID-19,we speculate that SARS-CoV-2 may depend on other routes to facilitate its infection. Here,we first discover an interaction between host cell receptor CD147 and SARS-CoV-2 spike protein. The loss of CD147 or blocking CD147 in Vero E6 and BEAS-2B cell lines by anti-CD147 antibody,Meplazumab, inhibits SARSCoV-2 amplification.Expression of human CD147 allows virus entry into non-susceptible BHK-21 cells, which can be neutralized by CD147 extracellular fragment.Viral loads are detectable in the lungs of human CD147(hCD147)mice infected with SARS-CoV-2,but not in those of virus-infected wild type mice.Interestingly, virions are observed in lymphocytes of lung tissue from a COVID-19 patient.Human T cells with a property of ACE2 natural deficiency can be infected with SARS-CoV-2 pseudovirus in a dosedependent manner, which is specifically inhibited by Meplazumab.Furthermore,CD147 mediates virus entering host cells by endocytosis.Together, our study reveals a novel virus entry route,CD147-spike protein, which provides an important target for developing specific and effective drug against COVID-19.Ke Wang Wei Chen Zheng Zhang Yongqiang Deng Jian-Qi Lian Peng Du Ding Wei Yang Zhang Xiu-Xuan Sun Li Gong Xu Yang Lei He Lei Zhang Zhiwei Yang Jie-Jie Geng Ruo Chen Hai Zhang Bin Wang Yu-Meng Zhu Gang Nan Jian-Li Jiang Ling Li Jiao Wu Peng Lin Wan Huang Liangzhi Xie Zhao-Hui Zheng Kui Zhang Jin-Lin Miao Hong-Yong Cui Min Huang Jun Zhang Ling Fu Xiang-Min Yang Zhongpeng Zhao Shihui Sun Hongjing Gu Zhe Wang Chun-Fu Wang Yacheng Lu Ying-Ying Liu Qing-Yi Wang Huijie Bian Ping Zhu Zhi-Nan Chen 2020Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2020,5,1:9
Molecularly imprinted macroporous monolithic materials for protein recognition显示文摘Synthetic materials that can specifically recognize proteins will find wide application in many fields. In this report, bovine serum albumin was chosen as the template protein.Acrylamide and N,N'-methylenebisacrylamide were employed as the functional and cross-linker monomers, respectively.Molecularly imprinted macroporous monolithic materials that can preferentially bind the template protein in an aqueous environment were prepared by combination of molecular imprinting technique and freezing/thawing preparation method. The resulted imprinted macroporous monolithic columns were evaluated by utilizing as stationary phase in high performance liquid chromatography and solid-phase extraction materials. The experimental results indicated that the imprinted macroporous monolithic column exhibited good recognition for template protein,as compared with the control protein(hemoglobin),whereas the non-imprinted polymer(prepared under the same conditions except without addition template protein) had no selective properties.Qi Liang Deng Yan Li Li Li Hua Zhang Yu Kui Zhang 2011Chinese Chemical Letters2011,22,11:8

Coating deposition regularity depended on orientation difference in PS-PVD plasma jet显示文摘The YSZ coatings are prepared by the plasma spray-physical vapor deposition(PS-PVD)technology based on a specific experimental design. The structure, thickness and growth angle of YSZ coatings on the entire circumferential surface of the cylindrical sample are studied. The results indicated that the structure, thickness and deflection growth angle of YSZ coatings are related to the orientation of deposition location. The numerical simulation of the multiphase mixed fluid near the substrate is carried out and the deposition regularity and mechanism of YSZ coatings prepared by PS-PVD is deduced. The growth rate is related to the local characteristics of the plasma flow field, and is directly proportional to the field pressure and inversely proportional to the field velocity. The growth angle of the coating is generally affected by the flow direction of the plasma jet.Especially, the normal component of velocity vector,V_(norm),mainly affects the speed at which the coating grows vertically upwards. The tangential component of velocity vector,V_(tan),determines the degree that the coating growth direction deviates from the vertical direction. When V_(tan)≠0,the coating forms a fine column with a certain deflection angle and finally develops into an oblique columnar structure.Jie MAO Min LIU Ziqian DENG Kui WEN Changguang DENG Kun YANG Zhikun CHEN 2020Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2020,33,12:6
CD147 antibody specifically and effectively inhibits infection and cytokine storm of SARS-CoV-2 and its variants delta, alpha, beta, and gamma显示文摘SARS-CoV-2 mutations contribute to increased viral transmissibility and immune escape, compromising the effectiveness of existing vaccines and neutralizing antibodies. An in-depth investigation on COVID-19 pathogenesis is urgently needed to develop a strategy against SARS-CoV-2 variants. Here,we identified CD147 as a universal receptor for SARS-CoV-2 and its variants.Meanwhile,Meplazeumab,a humanized anti-CD147 antibody, could block cellular entry of SARS-CoV-2 and its variants-alpha,beta,gamma,and delta, with inhibition rates of 68.7,75.7,52.1,52.1,and 62.3%at 60μg/ml,respectively.Furthermore,humanized CD147 transgenic mice were susceptible to SARS-CoV-2 and its two variants, alpha and beta. When infected, these mice developed exudative alveolar pneumonia, featured by immune responses involving alveoli-infiltrated macrophages, neutrophils, and lymphocytes and activation of IL-17 signaling pathway.Mechanistically,we proposed that severe COVID-19-related cytokine storm is induced by a'spike protein-CD147-CyPA signaling axis':Infection of SARS-CoV-2 through CD147 initiated the JAK-STAT pathway, which further induced expression of cyclophilin A(CyPA);CyPA reciprocally bound to CD147 and triggered MAPK pathway.Consequently, the MAPK pathway regulated the expression of cytokines and chemokines, which promoted the development of cytokine storm.Importantly,Meplazumab could effectively inhibit viral entry and inflammation caused by SARS-CoV-2 and its variants. Therefore, our findings provided a new perspective for severe COVID-19-related pathogenesis.Furthermore, the validated universal receptor for SARS-CoV-2 and its variants can be targeted for COVID-19 treatment.Jiejie Geng Liang Chen Yufeng Yuan Ke Wang Youchun Wang Chuan Qin Guizhen Wu Ruo Chen Zheng Zhang Ding Wei Peng Du Jun Zhang Peng Lin Kui Zhang Yongqiang Deng Ke Xu Jiangning Liu Xiuxuan Sun Ting Guo Xu Yang Jiao Wu Jianli Jiang Ling Li Kun Zhang Zhe Wang Jing Zhang Qingguo Yan Hua Zhu Zhaohui Zheng Jinlin Miao Xianghui Fu Fengfan Yang Xiaochun Chen Hao Tang Yang Zhang Ying Shi Yumeng Zhu Zhuo Pei Fei Huo Xue Liang Yatao Wang Qingyi Wang Wen Xie Yirong Li Mingyan Shi Huijie Bian Ping Zhu Zhi-Nan Chen 2021Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,10:6

Geographic variations in the incidence of congenital hypothyroidism in China: a retrospective study based on 92 million newborns screened in 2013–2018显示文摘Background:Although congenital hypothyroidism(CH)has been widely studied in Western countries,CH incidence at different administrative levels in China during the past decade remains unknown. This study aimed to update the incidence and revealed the spatial pattern of CH incidence in the mainland of China, which could be helpful in the planning and implementation of preventative measures. Methods:The data used in our study were derived from 245 newborns screening centers that cover 30 provinces of the Chinese Newborn Screening Information System.Spatial auto-correlation was analyzed by Global Moran I and Getis-Ord Gi statistics at the provincial level.Kriging interpolation methods were applied to estimate a further detailed spatial distribution of CH incidence at city level throughout the mainland of China, and Kulldorff space scanning statistical methods were used to identify the spatial clusters of CH cases at the city level. Results:A total of 91,921,334 neonates were screened from 2013 to 2018 and 42,861 cases of primary CH were identified, yielding an incidence of 4.66 per 10,000 newborns screened(95%confidence interval[CI]:4.62–4.71).Neonates in central(risk ratio[RR]=0.84,95%CI:0.82–0.85)and western districts(RR=0.71,95%CI:0.69–0.73)had lower probability of CH cases compared with the eastern region. The CH incidence indicated a moderate positive global spatial autocorrelation(Global Moran I value=0.394,P<0.05),and the CH cases were significantly clustered in spatial distribution.A most likely city-cluster(log-likelihood ratio[LLR]=588.82,RR=2.36,P<0.01)and 25 secondary city-clusters of high incidence were scanned. The incidence of each province and each city in the mainland of China was estimated by kriging interpolation, revealing the most affected province and city to be Zhejiang Province and Hangzhou city, respectively. Conclusion:This study offers an insight into the space clustering of CH incidence at provincial and city scales.Future work on environmental factors need to focus on the effects of CH occurrence.Yong-Na Yao Xue-Lian Yuan Jun Zhu Liang-Cheng Xiang Qi Li Kui Deng Xiao-Hong Li Han-Min Liu 2021Chinese Medical Journal2021,,18:4
A New Kinetic Model for Residue Hydrotreating Based on Chemical Reaction Sections显示文摘New definition of virtual molecular-group components about CH and CH2 is proposed in the paper. The new reaction, hydrogenation of CH to CH2(HDCH),can be used to represent the change of C and H in RHT.By using the lumping approach, the kinetic models about HDCH,HDS,HDN,HDCCR,HDM,HDNi and HDV reactions were established. They are key components of the new kinetic model for RHT based on reaction sections.During the construction of kinetic model,goodness-to-fit(R^2)between test data and model data was set as the target value, and the model parameters were calculated accurately. In verification test, the predicted content of H,S,N,CCR,M,Ni and V can match well with the test data.Zhang Kui Dai Lishun Nie Hong Shao Zhicai Liu Tao Deng Zhonghuo Han Wei Jia Yanzi 2020China Petroleum Processing & Petrochemical Technology2020,22,2:4
Prevalence and Years of Life Lost due to Disability from Dental Caries among Children and Adolescents in Western China,1990-2015显示文摘Objective To analyze the prevalence and years lived with disability(YLD) from dental caries among children and adolescents and the time trends over the past two decades in Sichuan province, the largest province in west China. Methods Based on the Global Burden of Disease Study 2015(GBD2015),which systematically assessed the epidemiological characteristics of major diseases and their transitions by country and region from 1990 to 2015,we extracted the estimated results for China. We then used the Bayesian meta-regression method to estimate the sex-and age-specific prevalences and YLDs from dental caries among children and adolescents under 15 years old in Sichuan province and compared them with global and national indicators for the same period. Results In 2015,there were almost 6 million cases of dental caries in children and adolescents(aged<15 years) in Sichuan province, accounting for 6% of the total cases in China. For children under 5 years, the prevalence of deciduous caries was 55.9%,and the YLDs value was 10.8 per 100,000,while it was 24.3% and 5.1 per 100,000 respectively among 5- to 14-year-olds;for those aged 5 to 14 years, the prevalence of permanent caries was 21.5%,and the YLDs value was 11.5 per 100,000.From 1990 to 2015,the prevalence of dental caries for children under 5 years increased substantially,by 16.2%,and the YLDs increased by 8.7%.Among those aged 5 to 14 years, the prevalence increased and the YLDs decreased. Conclusion Dental caries remains a huge health burden in Western China. In contrast to the global and national data, the trend has increased rapidly over the past 25 years in this region. This work provides suggestions for the prevention and control for oral health in China with the policy of two-child.WANG Zhuo DENG Ying LIU Shi Wei HE Jun JI Kui ZENG Xin Ying YANG Shu Juan XU Xin Yin LUO Yu ZHOU Mai Geng ZHANG Jian Xin 2017Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2017,30,10:3

Medical equipment provides images, physiological results or other schematics of the patients to help doctors deal with the routines. It is also the major tool to the lab assistant in the clinical teaching and studies. It becomes one of a symbol of the technological level in modern hospital. The director of the hospital should establish an effi cacious management pattern to manage the medical equipment, so that it will be operated in good condition to insure the safety of the patients. Since the maintenance is an important part of medical equipment management, it is significant that the hospital should establish a system to fit for itself. The study reviews the issues in hospital medical equipment maintenance management, the development of the maintenance management model and the characteristics, as well as the status at home and abroad. The research has been fi nished by using literature research method, questionnaire survey method and data analysis method. Then we analyze the current status of hospital medical equipment maintenance management model to fi nd the problems. Based on the authentic and effective data from the survey, we can deduce the overview about the maintenance model in Beijing. The paper discusses the advantages and the disadvantages between the different model, and it makes suggestions on the follow aspects, such as system management, quality management, personnel management, cost management, information management perspective.ZHOU Qiang DENG Wen-yan CAI Kui 2016中国医疗设备2016,31,5:3

HB-PLS:A statistical method for identifying biological process or pathway regulators by integrating Huber loss and Berhu penalty with partial least squares regression显示文摘Gene expression data features high dimensionality, multicollinearity, and non-Gaussian distribution noise, posing hurdles for identification of true regulatory genes controlling a biological process or pathway. In this study,we integrated the Huber loss function and the Berhu penalty(HB)into partial least squares(PLS)framework to deal with the high dimension and multicollinearity property of gene expression data, and developed a new method called HB-PLS regression to model the relationships between regulatory genes and pathway genes. To solve the Huber-Berhu optimization problem,an accelerated proximal gradient descent algorithm with at least 10 times faster than the general convex optimization solver(CVX),was developed.Application of HB-PLS to recognize pathway regulators of lignin biosynthesis and photosynthesis in Arabidopsis thaliana led to the identification of many known positive pathway regulators that had previously been experimentally validated. As compared to sparse partial least squares(SPLS)regression,an efficient method for variable selection and dimension reduction in handling multicollinearity,HB-PLS has higher efficacy in identifying more positive known regulators,a much higher but slightly less sensitivity/(1-specificity)in ranking the true positive known regulators to the top of the output regulatory gene lists for the two aforementioned pathways. In addition, each method could identify some unique regulators that cannot be identified by the other methods. Our results showed that the overall performance of HB-PLS slightly exceeds that of SPLS but both methods are instrumental for identifying real pathway regulators from high-throughput gene expression data, suggesting that integration of statistics, machine leaning and convex optimization can result in a method with high efficacy and is worth further exploration.Wenping Deng Kui Zhang Cheng He Sanzhen Liu Hairong Wei 2021Forestry Research2021,1,1:1
Differential regulation of triterpene biosynthesis induced by an early failure in cuticle formation in apple显示文摘Waxy apple cuticles predominantly accumulate ursane-type triterpenes, but the profile shifts with the induction of skin russeting towards lupane-type triterpenes. We previously characterised several key enzymes in the ursane-type and lupane-type triterpene pathways, but this switch in triterpene metabolism associated with loss of cuticle integrity is not fully understood. To analyse the relationship between triterpene biosynthesis and russeting,we used microscopy,RNA-sequencing and metabolite profiling during apple fruit development. We compared the skin of three genetically-close clones of‘Golden Delicious’(with waxy, partially russeted and fully russeted skin). We identified a unique molecular profile for the russet clone, including low transcript abundance of multiple cuticle-specific metabolic pathways in the early stages of fruit development.Using correlation analyses between gene transcription and metabolite concentration we found MYB transcription factors strongly associated with lupane-type triterpene biosynthesis. We showed how their transcription changed with the onset of cuticle cracking followed by russeting and that one factor,MYB66,was able to bind the promoter of the oxidosqualene cyclase OSC5,to drive the production of lupeol derivatives. These results provide insights into the breakdown of cuticle integrity leading to russet and how this drives MYB-regulated changes to triterpene biosynthesis.Luigi Falginella Christelle M.Andre Sylvain Legay Kui Lin-Wang Andrew P.Dare Cecilia Deng Ria Rebstock Blue J.Plunkett Lindy Guo Guido Cipriani Richard V.Espley 2021Horticulture Research2021,8,1:1
