1A novel bioremediation strategy for petroleum hydrocarbon pollutants using salt tolerant Corynebacterium variabile HRJ4 and biochar显示文摘The present work aimed to develop a novel strategy to bioremediate the petroleum hydrocarbon contaminants in the environment.Salt tolerant bacterium was isolated from Dagang oilfield,China and identified as Corynebacterium variabile HRJ4 based on 16 S r RNA gene sequence analysis.The bacterium had a high salt tolerant capability and biochar was developed as carrier for the bacterium.The bacteria with biochar were most effective in degradation of n-alkanes(C16,C18,C19,C26,C28) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(NAP,PYR) mixture.The result demonstrated that immobilization of C.variabile HRJ4 with biochar showed higher degradation of total petroleum hydrocarbons(THPs) up to 78.9%after 7-day of incubation as compared to the free leaving bacteria.The approach of this study will be helpful in clean-up of petroleum-contamination in the environments through bioremediation process using eco-friendly and cost effective materials like biochar.Hairong Zhang Jingchun Tang Lin Wang Juncheng Liu Ranjit Gajanan Gurav Kejing Sun 2016Journal of Environmental Sciences2016,28,9:25
2Current situation and trend of marine data buoy and monitoring network technology of China显示文摘Marine data buoy can provide a long-term, continuous, real-time, reliable data of ocean observation in a variety of complex marine environment. It is one of the most reliable, most effective and important means of ocean monitoring technology. In this paper, the classification, main theory and technology system of marine data buoy are summarized. The typical technological breakthrough of the development of marine data buoy in recent years is summarized. 5Prognostic assessment of apoptotic gene polymorphisms in non-small cell lung cancer in Chinese显示文摘Apoptosis plays a key role in inhibiting tumor growth, progression and resistance to anti-tumor therapy. We hypothesized that genetic variants in apoptotic genes may affect the prognosis of lung cancer. To test this hypothesis, we selected 38 potentially functional single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) from 12 genes (BAX, BCL2, BID, CASP3, CASP6, CASP7, CASP8, CASP9, CASP10, FAS, FASLG and MCL1) involved in apoptosis to assess their prognostic significance in lung cancer in a Chinese case cohort with 568 non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients. Thirty-five SNPs passing quality control underwent association analyses, 11 of which were shown to be significantly associated with NSCLC survival (P<0.05). After Cox stepwise regression analyses, 3 SNPs were independently associated with the outcome of NSCLC (BID rs8190315: P=0.003; CASP9 rs4645981: P=0.007 and FAS rs1800682: P=0.016). A favorable survival of NSCLC was significantly associated with the genotypes of BID rs8190315 AG/GG (adjusted HR=0.65, 95% CI: 0.49-0.88), CASP9 rs4645981 AA (HR=0.22, 95% CI: 0.07-0.69) and FAS rs1800682 GG (adjusted HR=0.67, 95% CI: 0.46-0.97). Time-dependent receptor operation curve (ROC) analysis revealed that the area under curve (AUC) at year 5 was significantly increased from 0.762 to 0.819 after adding the risk score of these 3 SNPs to the clinical risk score. The remaining 32 SNPs were not significantly associated with NSCLC prognosis after adjustment for these 3 SNPs. 7Serum semaphorin 4C as a diagnostic biomarker in breast cancer:A multicenter retrospective study显示文摘Background:To date,there is no approved blood-based biomarker for breast cancer detection.Herein,we aimed to assess semaphorin 4C(SEMA4C),a pivotal protein involved in breast cancer progression,as a serum diagnostic biomarker.Methods:We included 6,213 consecutive inpatients from Tongji Hospital,Qilu Hospital,and Hubei Cancer Hospital.Training cohort and two validation cohorts were introduced for diagnostic exploration and validation.A pan-cancer cohort was used to independently explore the diagnostic potential of SEMA4C among solid tumors.Breast cancer patients who underwent mass excision prior to modified radical mastectomy were also analyzed.We hypothesized that increased pretreatment serum SEMA4C levels,measured using optimized in-house enzymelinked immunosorbent assay kits,could detect breast cancer.The endpoints were diagnostic performance,including area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC),sensitivity,and specificity.Post-surgery pathological diagnosis was the reference standard and breast cancer staging followed the TNM classification.There was no restriction on disease stage for eligibilities.Results:We included 2667 inpatients with breast lesions,2378 patients with other solid tumors,and 1168 healthy participants.Specifically,118 patients with breast cancer were diagnosed with stage 0(5.71%),620 with stage I(30.00%),966 with stage II(46.73%),217 with stage III(10.50%),and 8 with stage IV(0.39%).Patients with breast cancer had significantly higher serum SEMA4C levels than benign breast tumor patients and normal controls(P<0.001).Elevated serum SEMA4C levels had AUC of 0.920(95%confidence interval[CI]:0.900–0.941)and 0.932(95%CI:0.911–0.953)for breast cancer detection in the two validation cohorts.The AUCs for detecting early-stage breast cancer(n=366)and ductal carcinoma in situ(n=85)were 0.931(95%CI:0.916–0.946)and 0.879(95%CI:0.832–0.925),respectively.Serum SEMA4C levels significantly decreased after surgery,and the reduction was more striking after modified radical mastectomy,compared with mass excision(P<0.001).The positive rate of enhanced serum SEMA4C levels was 84.77%for breast cancer and below 20.75%for the other 14 solid tumors.Conclusions:Serum SEMA4C demonstrated promising potential as a candidate biomarker for breast cancer diagnosis.However,validation in prospective settings and by other study groups is warranted.Ya Wang Long Qiao Jie Yang Xiong Li Yaqi Duan Jiahao Liu Shaoqi Chen Huayi Li Dan Liu Tian Fang Jingjing Ma Xiaoting Li Fei Ye Junxiang Wan Juncheng Wei Qin Xu Ensong Guo Ping Jin Mingfu Wu Lin Zhang Yun Xia Yaqun Wu Jun Shao Yaojun Feng Qing Zhang Zongyuan Yang Gang Chen Qinghua Zhang Xingrui Li Shixuan Wang Junbo Hu Xiaoyun Wang Mona P.Tan Kazuaki Takabe Beihua Kong Qifeng Yang Ding Ma Qinglei Gao 2021Cancer Communications2021,41,12:3

10Role of surface warming in the northward shift of tropical cyclone tracks over the South China Sea in November显示文摘Tropical cyclones(TCs) formed in the Northwest Pacific Ocean(NWP) can cross the South China Sea(SCS)sometimes. It is found that the TC tracks in the SCS in November are shifted to the north after 1980 compared with those before 1980. Both data analyses and numerical simulations show that the surface warming in the SCS may contribute to this more northward shift. 11Ultrabroadband and multiband infrared/terahertz photodetectors with high sensitivity显示文摘Broadband response is pursued in both infrared(IR)and terahertz(THz)detection technologies,which find their applications in both terrestrial and astronomical realms.Herein,we report an ultrabroadband and multiband IR/THz detector based on blocked-impurity-band detecting principle.The detectors are prepared by implanting phosphorus into germanium(Ge:P),where photoresponses with a P impurity band,a self-interstitial defect band,and a vacancy-P(V-P)pair defect band are realized simultaneously.The response spectra of the detectors show ultrabroad and dual response bands in a range of 3-28μm(IR band)and 40-165μm(THz band),respectively.Additionally,a tiny mid-IR(MIR)band within 3-4.2μm is embedded in the IR band.The THz band arises from the P impurity band,whereas the IR and the MIR bands are ascribed to the two defect bands.At150 m V and 4.5 K,the peak detectivities of the three bands are obtained as 2.9×10^(12) Jones(at 3.9μm),6.8×10^(12) Jones(at 16.3μm),and 9.9×10^(12) Jones(at 116.5μm),respectively.The impressive coverage andsensitivity of the detectors are promising for applications in IR and THz detection technologies.JIAQI ZHU HE ZHU MENGJUAN LIU YAO WANG HANLUN XU NASIR ALI HUIYONG DENG ZHIYONG TAN JUNCHENG CAO NING DAI HUIZHEN WU 2021Photonics Research2021,9,11:2

13Structure and Properties of PLA Composite Enhanced with Biomass Fillers from Herbaceous Plants显示文摘PLA composites containing biomass fillers from the three herbaceous plants such as reed,wheat stalk,and coco-nut fiber with length and diameter at the scale of several millimeters were prepared without using additives.The reinforcement effect on the properties of PLA/biomass filler composites is investigated.The research results show that the PLA/biomass filler composites exhibit good stiffness,flexural strength,and impact toughness.Among the three kinds of biomass fillers,reed reinforced PLA composites show optimal mechanical properties.When filled with 40%–50%reed,the flexural moduli of the composites are over 7000 MPa.Flexural strength retains at the same level of pure PLA.The notch impact strength reaches to 4.50±0.73 kJ/m^(2),which is 2.06 times higher than that of pure PLA.Furthermore,the introduction of biomass fillers increases the crystallization ability of PLA and does not increase the water absorption of the composites.This research demonstrated that PLA composites prepared with biomass fillers from the herbaceous plants(namely herb plastic composites,HPCs)is a material with good comprehensive mechanical properties while retaining the intrinsic particularity of biological sources.Haining Na Juncheng Huang Hongguang Xu Fei Liu Liangke Xie Baoqing Zhu Jiuchen Wang Jin Zhu 2023Journal of Renewable Materials2023,11,2:2

15Spatiotemporal Changes of Vegetation Cover in Response to Climate Change on the Tibetan Plateau显示文摘The Tibetan Plateau is one of the most important ecological barriers in China. Resolving the internal relations and dynamics ruling the association between regional vegetation and climate change is important to understand and protect the regional ecosystems. Based on vegetation, temperature and precipitation data of the Tibetan Plateau from 2001 to 2010, we analyze the spatial and temporal variations of vegetation cover over the past 10 years and discuss the vegetation response to climate change using empirical orthogonal function and singular value decomposition.
