1Measurements of human vision contrast sensitivity to opposite colors using a cathode ray tube display显示文摘The contrast definitions of opposite colors red-green and blue-yellow, which have been described in the CIELAB and YC r C b color spaces, respectively, and a method to accurately control chroma and color differences on a cathode ray tube screen are presented according to the color display characteristics of cathode ray tubes. Using target gratings on a cathode ray tube screen, measurements of human vision contrast sensitivity to red-green and blue-yellow colors for 10 spatial frequencies (0.41, 0.82, 1.23, 1.97, 3.08, 3.79, 4.93, 7.04, 9.86 and 16.43 cpd) were carried out in 11 young observers in a dark environment. 2Cobalt single atom site catalysts with ultrahigh metal loading for enhanced aerobic oxidation of ethylbenzene显示文摘The oxidation of hydrocarbons to produce high value-added compounds(ketones or alcohols)using oxygen in air as the only oxidant is an efficient synthetic strategy from both environmental and economic views.Herein,we successfully synthesized cobalt single atom site catalysts(Co SACs)with high metal loading of 23.58 wt.%supported on carbon nitride(CN),which showed excellent catalytic properties for oxidation of ethylbenzene in air.Moreover,Co SACs show a much higher turn-over frequency(19.6 h^(−1))than other reported non-noble catalysts under the same condition.Comparatively,the as-obtained nanosized or homogenous Co catalysts are inert to this reaction.Co SACs also exhibit high selectivity(97%)and stability(unchanged after five runs)in this reaction.DFT calculations reveal that Co SACs show a low energy barrier in the first elementary step and a high resistance to water,which result in the robust catalytic performance for this reaction.Yu Xiong Wenming Sun Yunhu Han Pingyu Xin Xusheng Zheng Wensheng Yan Juncai Dong Jian Zhang Dingsheng Wang Yadong Li 2021Nano Research2021,14,7:20
3Spatial distribution of atmospheric water vapor and its relationship with precipitation in ,summer over the Tibetan Plateau显示文摘By using the observed monthly mean temperature and humidity datasets of 14 radiosonde stations and monthly mean precipitation data of 83 surface stations from 1979 to 2008 over the Tibetan Plateau(TP),the relationship between the atmospheric water vapor(WV) and precipitation in summer and the precipitation conversion efficiency(PEC) over the TP are analyzed.The results are obtained as follows.(1) The summer WV decreases with increasing altitude,with the largest value area observed in the northeastern part of the TP,and the second largest value area in the southeastern part of the TP,while the northwestern part is the lowest value area.The summer precipitation decreases from southeast to northwest.(2) The summer WV presents two main patterns based on the EOF analysis:the whole region consistent-type and the north-south opposite-type.The north-south opposite-type of the summer WV is similar to the first EOF mode of the summer precipitation and both of their zero lines are located to the north of the Tanggula Mountains.(3) The summer precipitation is more(less) in the southern(northern) TP in the years with the distribution of deficient summer WV in the north while abundant in the south,and vice versa.(4) The PEC over the TP is between 3% and 38% and it has significant spatial difference in summer,which is obviously bigger in the southern TP than that in the northern TP.ZHOU Shunwu WU Ping WANG Chuanhui HAN Juncai 2012Journal of Geographical Sciences2012,22,5:15
4Screening beneficial bacteriostatic lactic acid bacteria in the intestine and studies of bacteriostatic substances显示文摘Lactic acid bacteria(LAB)are a representative probiotic.As the dominant flora in the human intestinal tract,LAB can regulate the balance of human intestinal flora and improve host health.The purpose of this study was to isolate and screen LAB that are well suited to the intestinal characteristics of the Chinese population,with excellent probiotics and high antibacterial activity.After 16S ribosomal RNA(rRNA)homology and phylogenetic tree analysis,potential probiotics were tested for their antibacterial activity,resistance to artificial gastrointestinal fluid and drugs,surface hydrophobicity,and safety.Three strains of LAB with acid resistance,bile salt resistance,epithelial cell adhesion,and no multidrug resistance were selected:Lactobacillus salivarius,Leuconostoc lactis,and Lactobacillus paracasei.Analysis of the antibacterial active substances in the three strains and their fermentation broths revealed that the main antibacterial substances of L.lactis were organic acids,whereas those of L.salivarius and L.paracasei were organic acids and bacteriocins with broad-spectrum antibacterial activity.These three strains of probiotic LAB with high antibacterial activity were identified as bacterial resources that could potentially be used to develop probiotic preparations for the prevention and treatment of intestinal diseases caused by intestinal pathogens.Zhijing LIU Cong XU Ran TIAN Wan WANG Jiage MA Liya GU Fei LIU Zhanmei JIANG Juncai HOU 2021Journal of Zhejiang University-Science B(Biomedicine & Biotechnology)2021,22,7:10

9Engineering the Coordination Sphere of Isolated Active Sites to Explore the Intrinsic Activity in Single-Atom Catalysts显示文摘Reducing the dimensions of metallic nanoparticles to isolated,single atom has attracted considerable attention in heterogeneous catalysis,because it significantly improves atomic utilization and often leads to distinct catalytic performance.Through extensive research,it has been recognized that the local coordination environment of single atoms has an important influence on their electronic structures and catalytic behaviors.In this review,we summarize a series of representative systems of single-atom catalysts,discussing their preparation,characterization,and structure-property relationship,with an emphasis on the correlation between the coordination spheres of isolated reactive centers and their intrinsic catalytic activities.We also share our perspectives on the current challenges and future research promises in the development of single-atom catalysis.With this article,we aim to highlight the possibility of finely tuning the catalytic performances by engineering the coordination spheres of single-atom sites and provide new insights into the further development for this emerging research field.Xin Wu Huabin Zhang Shouwei Zuo Juncai Dong Yang Li Jian Zhang Yu Han 2021Nano-Micro Letters2021,13,9:4
10Tunable oxygen vacancy concentration in vanadium oxide as mass-produced cathode for aqueous zinc-ion batteries显示文摘Oxygen vacancy(Vö)is important in the modification of electrode for rechargeable batteries.However,due to the scarcity of suitable preparation strategy with controllable Vöincorporation,the impact of Vöconcentration on the electrochemical performances remains unclear.Thus,in this work,Vö-V_(2)O_(5)-PEDOT(VöVP)with tunable Vöconcentration is achieved via a spontaneous polymerization strategy,with the capability of mass-production.The introduction of poly(2,3-dihydrothieno-1,4-dioxin)(PEDOT)not only leads to the formation of Vöin V_(2)O_(5),but it also results in a larger interlayer spacing.The as-prepared Vö-V_(2)O_(5)-PEDOT-20.3%with Vöconcentration of 20.3%(denoted as VöVP-20)is able to exhibit high capacity of 449 mAh·g^(−1) at current density of 0.2 A·g^(−1),with excellent cyclic performance of 94.3% after 6,000 cycles.It is shown in the theoretical calculations that excessive Vöin V_(2)O_(5) will lead to an increase in the band gap,which inhibits the electrochemical kinetics and charge conductivity.This is further demonstrated in the experimental results as the electrochemical performance starts to decline when Vöconcentration increases beyond 20.3%.Thus,based on this work,scalable fabrication of high-performance electrode with tunable Vöconcentration can be achieved with the proposed strategy.Yehong Du Xinyu Wang Juncai Sun 2021Nano Research2021,14,3:4
11PtNi-W/C with Atomically Dispersed Tungsten Sites Toward Boosted ORR in Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell Devices显示文摘The performance of proton exchange membrane fuel cells is heavily dependent on the microstructure of electrode catalyst especially at low catalyst loadings.This work shows a hybrid electrocatalyst consisting of PtNi-W alloy nanocrystals loaded on carbon surface with atomically dispersed W sites by a two-step straightforward method.Single-atomic W can be found on the carbon surface,which can form protonic acid sites and establish an extended proton transport network at the catalyst surface.When implemented in membrane electrode assembly as cathode at ultra-low loading of 0.05 mgPt cm^(−2),the peak power density of the cell is enhanced by 64.4%compared to that with the commercial Pt/C catalyst.The theoretical calculation suggests that the single-atomic W possesses a favorable energetics toward the formation of*OOH whereby the intermediates can be efficiently converted and further reduced to water,revealing a interfacial cascade catalysis facilitated by the single-atomic W.This work highlights a novel functional hybrid electrocatalyst design from the atomic level that enables to solve the bottle-neck issues at device level.Huawei Wang Jialong Gao Changli Chen Wei Zhao Zihou Zhang Dong Li Ying Chen Chenyue Wang Cheng Zhu Xiaoxing Ke Jiajing Pei Juncai Dong Qi Chen Haibo Jin Maorong Chai Yujing Li 2023Nano-Micro Letters2023,15,9:3
12MgNet: A unified framework of multigrid and convolutional neural network显示文摘We develop a unified model, known as MgNet, that simultaneously recovers some convolutional neural networks (CNN) for image classification and multigrid (MG) methods for solving discretized partial differential equations (PDEs). This model is based on close connections that we have observed and uncovered between the CNN and MG methodologies. For example, pooling operation and feature extraction in CNN correspond directly to restriction operation and iterative smoothers in MG, respectively. As the solution space is often the dual of the data space in PDEs, the analogous concept of feature space and data space (which are dual to each other) is introduced in CNN. With such connections and new concept in the unified model, the function of various convolution operations and pooling used in CNN can be better understood. As a result, modified CNN models (with fewer weights and hyperparameters) are developed that exhibit competitive and sometimes better performance in comparison with existing CNN models when applied to both CIFAR-10 and CIFAR-100 data sets.Juncai He Jinchao Xu 2019Science China Mathematics2019,62,7:2
13Mechanism of lithium insertion into NiSi_2 anode material for lithium ion batteries显示文摘As a promising high capacity anode material for lithium ion batteries, the lithium insertion performance and possible insertion mechanism of binary alloy of NiSi2 were discussed. The initial lithium insertion of crystal NiSi2 can reach up to 600 mAh·g-1, but large irreversible capacity occurrs simultaneously for serious structure transformation and the irreversible phase forms. XRD and XPS were employed to detect the crystal structure and composition changes produced by lithium insertion. The lithium insertion-extraction behavior of NiSi2 electrode is similar to that of silicon after the first discharge. 15RELU DEEP NEURAL NETWORKS AND LINEAR FINITE ELEMENTS显示文摘In this paper,we investigate the relationship between deep neural net works(DNN)with rectified linear unit(ReLU)function as the activation function and continuous piecewise linear(CPWL)functions,especially CPWL functions from the simplicial linear finite element method(FEM).We first consider the special case of FEM.By exploring the DNN representation of its nodal basis functions,we present a ReLU DNN representation of CPWL in FEM.We theoretically establish that at least 2 hidden layers are needed in a ReLU DNN to represent any linear finite element functions inΩ■R^2 when d≥2.Consequently,for d=2,3 which are often encountered in scientific and engineering computing,the minimal number of two hidden layers are necessary and sufficient for any CPWL function to be represented by a ReLU DNN.Then we include a detailed account on how a general CPWL in R^d can be represented by a ReLU DNN with at most[log2(d+1)]|hidden layers and we also give an estimation of the number of neurons in DNN that are needed in such a represe ntation.Furthermore,using the relationship bet ween DNN and FEM,we theoretically argue that a special class of DNN models with low bit-width are still expected to have an adequate representation power in applications.Finally,as a proof of concept,we present some numerical results for using ReLU DNNs to solve a two point boundary problem to demonstrate the potential of applying DNN for numerical solution of partial differential equations.Juncai He Lin Li Jinchao Xu Chunyue Zheng 2020Journal of Computational Mathematics2020,38,3:2

17Classification of ripening stages of bananas based on support vector machine显示文摘Non-destructive quality detection and automatic grading are important in fruit industry.The traditional way divides bananas into 7-level ripening stages based on color.This study investigated the changes of peel color at three positions of banana fingers,i.e.stalk,middle and tip.A support vector machine method was used to classify the ripening stages by color value L*,a*and b*as input data.The ripening stages were classified by 10-fold cross validation method of support vector machines with radial basis function kernel and linear function kernel.The results showed that the color change of middle position of banana finger adequately reflected the changes in banana ripening stages.a*value continuously increased from ripening stage 1 to ripening stage 7,L*and b*values increased from ripening stage 1 to ripening stage 5,and then decreased from ripening stage 5 to ripening stage 7.It was difficult to recognize the ripening stages using L*,a*and b*values individually.The accuracy of classification using support vector machine based on radial basis function kernel reached 96.5%,which was higher than that for linear function kernel.This research can provide a reference for automatic classification of banana ripening stages.Hou Juncai Hu Yaohua Hou Lixia Guo Kangquan Takaaki Satake 2015International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2015,8,6:2

19Surface stability and conductivity of a high Cr and Ni austenitic stainless steel plates for PEMFC显示文摘In order to use stainless steel as bipolar plate for PEMFC, electrochemical behavior of a high Cr and Ni austenitic stainless steel was studied in the solutions containing different concentration of H2SO4 and 2 mg·L-1 F-, and interfacial contact resistance was measured after corrosion tests. The experimental results show that the passive current density lowers with decreasing the concentration of H2SO4. The interfacial contact resistance between carbon paper and passive film formed in the simulated PEMFC environment is higher than the goal of bipolar plate for PEMFC. 20Efficient production of pronuclear embryos in breeding and nonbreeding season for generating transgenic sheep overexpressing TLR4显示文摘Background: Brucella is a zoonotic Gram-negative pathogen that causes abortion and infertility in ruminants and humans. TLR4 is the receptor for LPS which can recognize Brucella and initiate antigen-presenting cell activities that affect both innate and adaptive immunity. Consequently, transgenic sheep over-expressing TLR4 are an suitable model to investigate the effects of TLR4 on preventing Brucellosis. In this study, we generated transgenic sheep overexpressing TLR4 and aimed to evaluate the effects of different seasons(breeding and non-breeding season) on superovulation and the imported exogenous gene on growth.Results: In total of 43 donor ewes and 166 recipient ewes in breeding season, 37 donor ewes and 144 recipient ewes in non-breeding season were selected for super-ovulation and injected embryo transfer to generate transgenic sheep.Our results indicated the no. of embryos recovered of donors and the rate of pronuclear embryos did not show any significant difference between breeding and non-breeding seasons(P > 0.05). The positive rate of exogenous TLR4 tested were 21.21 % and 22.58 % in breeding and non-breeding season by Southern blot. The expression level of TLR4 in the transgenic sheep was 1.5 times higher than in the non-transgenic group(P < 0.05). The lambs overexpressing TLR4 had similar growth performance with non-transgenic lambs, and the blood physiological parameters of transgenic and non-transgenic were both in the normal range and did not show any difference.Conclusions: Here we establish an efficient platform for the production of transgenic sheep by the microinjection of pronuclear embryos during the whole year.
