| 2 | Mode-locked 2.8-μm fluoride fiber laser:from soliton to breathing pulse显示文摘The mode-locked fluoride fiber laser(MLFFL)is an exciting platform for directly generating ultrashort pulses in the mid-infrared(mid-IR).However,owing to difficulty in managing the dispersion in fluoride fiber lasers,MLFFLs are restricted to the soliton regime,hindering pulse-energy scaling.We overcame the problem of dispersion management by utilizing the huge normal dispersion generated near the absorption edge of an infrared-bandgap semiconductor and promoted MLFFL from soliton to breathing-pulse mode-locking.In the breathing-pulse regime,the accumulated nonlinear phase shift can be significantly reduced in the cavity,and the pulse-energy-limitation effect is mitigated.The breathing-pulse MLFFL directly produced a pulse energy of 9.3 nJ and pulse duration of 215 fs,with a record peak power of 43.3 kW at 2.8μm.Our work paves the way for the pulse-energy and peak-power scaling of mid-IR fluoride fiber lasers,enabling a wide range of applications. | Zhipeng Qin Guoqiang Xie Hongan Gu Ting Hai Peng Yuan Jingui Ma Liejia Qian | 2019 | Advanced Photonics2019,1,6: | 9 |
| 3 | Effects of organic acids on Cd adsorption and desorption by two anthropic soils显示文摘The objective of this experiment was to study the effects of malic, tartaric, oxalic, and citric acid on the adsorption and desorption characteristics of Cd by two typical anthropic soils (lou soil and irrigation-silted soil) in North-west China. Cadmium adsorption and desorption were studied under a range of temperatures (25℃, 30℃, 35℃, 40℃), organic acid concentrations (0.5-5.0 mmol·L-1), and pH values (2-8). The results showed that the Cd adsorption capacity of the lou soil was significantly greater than that of the irrigation-silted soil. Generally, Cd adsorption increased as the temperature increased. In the presence of NaNO3, the adsorption of Cd was endothermic with △H values of 31.365 kJ·mo1-1 for lou soil and 28.278 kJ·mol-1 for irrigation-silted soil. The endothermic reaction indicated that H bonds were the main driving force for Cd adsorption in both soils. However, different concentrations of organic acids showed various influences on the two soils. In the presence of citric acid, chemical adsorption and van der Waals interactions were the main driving forces for Cd adsorption rather than H bonds. Although the types of organic acids and soil properties were different, the effects of the organic acids on the adsorption and desorption of Cd were similar in the two soils. The adsorption percentage of Cd generally decreased as organic acid concentrations increased. In contrast, the adsorption percentage increased as the pH of the initial solution increased. The exception was that adsorption percentage of Cd increased slightly as oxalic acid concentrations increased. | 4 | 2.8 μm all-fiber Q-switched and mode-locked lasers with black phosphorus显示文摘In past years, rare-earth-doped fluoride fiber lasers(FFLs) have developed rapidly in the mid-infrared(mid-IR)region. However, due to the lack of fiber optic devices and challenge of fluoride fiber splicing, most mid-IR FFLs have been demonstrated with free-space optic elements, limiting the advantages of all-fiber lasers for flexible delivery, stability, and compactness. Here, we report, to the best of our knowledge, the first pulsed all-fiber FFL in the mid-IR region. By taking advantage of the integration of black phosphorus flake, stable Q-switched and mode-locked pulses were obtained at 2.8 μm wavelength. | 6 | A numerical study on salinity stratification at the Oujiang River Estuary, China显示文摘The Oujiang River Estuary(ORE)is a macrotidal estuary with drastic variation of river discharge and large tidal range.Numerical simulations based on the unstructured grid,Finite-Volume,primitive equation Community Ocean Model(FVCOM)are conducted to investigate the intratidal and intertidal variations of salinity with an extremely upstream river boundary and large computational domain.The dynamic equation of potential energy anomaly is adopted to evaluate the stratification and mixing processes from model results.Meanwhile,the stability of estuarine stratification on different timescales and its spatial variation are studied using estuarine Richardson number and stratification parameter.The critical values of tidal range and river discharge that determine the stratification state are obtained.The critical values exhibit distinct spatial difference.The north branch of the ORE exhibits well-mixed conditions when the tidal range exceeds 3.8,4.0 and 4.6m at upper inlet,middle segment and the river mouth,respectively.When river discharge is below 280 m^3/s or exceeds 510 m^3/s,the upper part of the north branch is well-mixed sustainably.Near the river mouth,river discharge of 280 m^3/s is a rough critical value that separates well-mixed and stratified states.It is also concluded that periodic stratification exists in the North Channel.The lower estuary appears to be partially stratified at early ebb or early flood tide,and well-mixed in other tidal stages.The stratification only develops during early ebb in the upper segment.The enhancement of stratification is mainly caused by longitudinal advection and lateral velocity shear,while turbulent mixing and longitudinal tidal strain are the main factors of stratification attenuation. | Yichun Li Jingui Liu | 2019 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2019,38,11: | 4 |
| 7 | Chronic fatigue syndrome treated by the traditional Chinese proce-dure abdominal tuina:a randomized controlled clinical trial显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effect of the traditional Chinese procedure abdominal Tuina(AT) on chronic fatigue syndrome(CFS).METHODS: This randomized, single assessor-blinded clinical trial was carried out from May 2014 to April 2015. Eighty participants in the trial were divided randomly into two groups: experimental group and control. The experimental group(40 cases) was treated by AT and the control group(40 cases) by acupuncture. Each treatment was conducted once a day, 5 d for one course, at an interval of 2 d between each course. The whole treatment course lasted for 4 weeks. To ascertain the effect of AT and acupuncture, Fatigue Scale-14(FS-14), Self-rating Anxiety Scale(SAS) and Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression(HAMD) scores were used before and after treatment. Patients were followed up for3 months after treatment.RESULTS: After treatment for 4 weeks, 77 patients(39 cases in the experimental group and 38 cases in the control group) completed the trial. The FS-14,SAS and HAMD scores decreased(P < 0.05) significantly compared with those before treatment in both groups. The FS-14 and HAMD(P < 0.05) scores in the experimental group were much lower than those in the control group. The difference in SAS scores between the two groups was not significant.In the final follow-up, CFS in two cases in the experimental group and three in the control group recurred, but the difference was not significant.
