| 9 | Earthquake vulnerability disaster in the Lembang district of West Bandung Regency, Indonesia显示文摘This research is concerned with an analysis of the level of vulnerability for an earthquake disaster in Lembang district,an area in West Java that includes the Bandung basin and has a high potential for earthquake disaster.The Lembang district is close to the active Lembang fault whose movement can cause earthquakes of magnitude 7 on the Richter scale(Tempo Interaktif,May 11,2010).The research method used to assess the level of vulnerability is essentially a descriptive approach.The data analysis is based on calculating an earthquake disaster risk index(EDRI),which is in turn based on assessment of the region's social,physical and economic vulnerabilities.The vulnerability level for earthquake disaster in the Lembang is ranked as medium category.The social vulnerability of the population is the major contributing factor given the high population density and growth rate for the region.The physical characteristics of the district,which includes mild temperatures and attractive scenery,make many people want to stay in and visit Lembang.The construction quality of buildings is so bad that they are not designed to withstand earthquakes,so improvement of building infrastructure is an alternative to reducing the various physical vulnerabilities. | Fahmi Arif Kurnianto Fahrudi Ahwan Ikhsan Bejo Apriyanto Elan Artono Nurdin | 2019 | Earthquake Science2019,32,1: | 0 |
| 10 | Antibiotic resistance profile and RAPD analysis of Campylobacter jejuni isolated from vegetables farms and retail markets显示文摘Objective:To investigate antibiotic resistance profile and characterize Campylobacter jejuni(C.jejuni) isolates using random amplified polymorphic DNA(RAPD) analysis.Methods:Ninety eight C.jejuni isolates from farms and retail outlets were screened against 10 antibiotics commonly used clinically and agriculturally by using disk diffusion method.RAPD analysis was done to characterize 98 C.jejuni isolates.Results:Fifty-one percent of the isolates had multiple antibiotic resistance index 0.2 and below.This indicated that the isolates in the vegetables were not from the high risk environment or extensive farming practices.C.jejuni isolates found resistant towards penicillin G(93%),vancomycin(86%),ampicillin(35%),erythromycin(28%),gentamycin(4%),amikacin(3%),enrofloxacin(1%),norfloxacin(1%) and no resistance towards ciprofloxacin.RAPD clustering analysis showed that the contamination of C.jejuni in vegetables was likely due to cross contamination at retail markets.Conclusions:C.jejuni contamination in vegetables at retail markets was due to cross contamination.Current finding proved that C.jejuni in small scale vegetables production was less expose towards antibiotic abuse. | John Yew Huat Tang Mohd Ikhsan Khalid Syazana Aimi Che Abdullah Abu-Bakar Son Radu | 2016 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine2016,6,1: | 0 |
