| 2 | 稀土元素La在MnCoGe体系中的掺杂效应显示文摘MnCoGe是MM′X型马氏体相变材料体系中最具代表性的研究对象之一.由于其结构相变温度高于自身的磁有序温度,研究者采用了各种调控方法来降低结构相变温度以实现磁共结构耦合.但是,针对稀土元素在这类体系中的掺杂效应较少被报道.因此,本文研究了Mn_(1-x)La_(x)CoGe (x=0, 0.01, 0.02, 0.03, 0.05)系列化合物的结构与磁性. | 8 | A facile and green synthetic approach toward fabrication of starch-stabilized magnetite nanoparticles显示文摘A facile and green synthetic approach for fabrication of starch-stabilized magnetite nanoparticles was implemented at moderate temperature. This synthesis involved the use of iron salts, potato starch,sodium hydroxide and deionized water as iron precursors, stabilizer, reducing agent and solvent respectively. The nanoparticles(NPs) were characterized by UV-vis, PXRD, HR-TEM, FESEM, EDX, VSM and FT-IR spectroscopy. The ultrasonic assisted co-precipitation technique provides well formation of highly distributed starch/Fe_3O_4-NPs. Based on UV–vis analysis, the sample showed the characteristic of surface plasmon resonance in the presence of Fe_3O_4-NPs. The PXRD pattern depicted the characteristic of the cubic lattice structure of Fe_3O_4-NPs. HR-TEM analysis showed the good dispersion of NPs with a mean diameter and standard deviation of 10.68 4.207 nm. The d spacing measured from the lattice images were found to be around 0.30 nm and 0.52 nm attributed to the Fe3O4 and starch, respectively. FESEM analysis confirmed the formation of spherical starch/Fe_3O_4-NPs with the emission of elements of C, O and Fe by EDX analysis. The magnetic properties illustrated by VSM analysis indicated that the as synthesized sample has a saturation magnetization and coercivity of 5.30 emu/g and 22.898 G respectively.Additionally, the FTIR analysis confirmed the binding of starch with Fe_3O_4-NPs. | 14 | Chicken Eggshell as an Innovative Bioflocculant in Harvesting Biofloc for Aquaculture Wastewater Treatment显示文摘Implementation of biofloc technology(BFT)system in aquaculture industry shows high productivity,low feed conversion ratio,and an optimum culture environment.This study was divided into two phases.The first phase involved maintaining the water quality using the optimum carbon-to-nitrogen ratio by manipulating pH in culture water.The second phase examined the performance of harvesting biofloc(remaining phytoplankton and suspended solids in the system)using chicken eggshell powder(CESP).This study showed that pH 7 to 8 were the best biofloc performance with high removal percentage of ammonia(>99%)with a remaining ammonia concentration of 0.016 mg L^(−1)and 0.018 mg L^(−1),respectively.The second phase of this study was performed to determine the optimal formulation and conditions of using CESP as a bio-flocculant in harvesting excess biofloc.The use of eggshell showed a higher harvesting efficiency of more than 80%under the following treatment conditions:0.25 g L^(−1)of eggshell dosage;with rapid and slow mixing rates of 150 and 30 rpm,respectively;30 min of settling time;settling velocity of 0.39 mm s^(−1)and pH of 6 to 7.Therefore,the results indicated that biofloc would be the best green technology approach for sustainable aquaculture wastewater and the CESP is an organic matrix that environmental-friendly bio-coagulant for biofloc harvesting. | Hajjar Hartini Wan Jusoh Nor Azman Kasan Hidayah Manan Nurfarahana Mohd Nasir Fareza Hanis Mohd Yunos Sofiah Hamzah Ahmad Jusoh | 2023 | Journal of Renewable Materials2023,11,5: | 0 |
| 15 | Temperature variability caused by internal tides in the coastal waters of east coast of Peninsular Malaysia显示文摘The effects of tidal currents(i.e., barotropic and internal tides) are important in the biogeochemistry of a coastal shelf sea. The high-frequency of currents and near-bottom temperatures collected in three consecutive southwest monsoon seasons(May, June, July and August of 2013 until 2015) is presented to reveal the role of the tidal currents to the temperature variability in the coastal shelf sea of the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia(ECPM),south of the South China Sea(SCS). The results of a spectral density and harmonic analysis demonstrate that the near-bottom temperature variability and the tidal currents are influenced by diurnal(O_1 and K_1) and semidiurnal(M_2) tidal currents. The spectral density of residual currents(detided data) at 5, 10 and 16 m depth also shows significant peaks at the diurnal tidal frequency(K_1) and small peaks at the semidiurnal tidal frequency(M_2)indicating the existence of internal tides. The result of the horizontal kinetic energy(HKE) shows a strong intermittent energy of internal tides in the ECPM with the strongest energy is found at 16 m depth during a sporadic cooling event in June and July. A high horizontal cross-shore heat flux(16 m) also indicates strong intrusions of cooler water into the ECPM in June and July. During the short duration of cold pulse water observed in June and July, a cross-wavelet analysis also reveals the strong relationship between the near-bottom temperatures and the internal tidal currents at the diurnal tidal frequency. The intrusion of this cooler water is probably related to the monsoon-induced upwelling in June. It is loosely interpreted that the interaction between the strong barotropic tides and the steep slope in the central basin of the SCS under the stratified condition in southwest monsoon has generated these internal tides. Whistleblowing can be an effective fraud detection mechanism if a person decided to whistleblow on the wrongdoings of other employees. In reality, however, individuals who are aware of unlawful activity of his or her peer group members would face a challenging dilemma if the company or organizations they are working with do not have a sound whistleblowing policy to ensure the confidentiality of whistleblower. Knowing the factors that could influence their whistleblowing judgement and intention would be an interesting topic to be studied. The present study attempts to discuss on factors which would influence whistleblowing intention on staffs from selected public sector organizations in Malaysia. These factors include three individual level factors of ethical ideology (idealism and relativism), personality traits (conscientiousness, openness to experience, extraversion, agreeableness, neuroticism), and whistleblowing judgment, all with regards to peer reporting. | 19 | Rheological and MECHANICAL Performance of Asphalt Binders and Mixtures Incorporating CaCO3 and LLDPE显示文摘This study was conducted to assess the performance of modified asphalt binders and engineering properties of mixtures prepared with incorporation 3 vol%and 6 vol%of calcium carbonate(CaCO3),linear low-density polyethylene(LLDPE),and combinations of CaCO3 and LLDPE.The rheological properties of control and modified asphalt binders were evaluated using a series of testing such as rotational viscometer(RV),multiple stress creep recovery(MSCR)and bending beam rheometer(BBR)tests.Meanwhile,four-point beam fatigue test,the dynamic modulus(E*)test and tensile strength ratio(TSR)test were conducted to assess the engineering properties of asphalt mixtures.Based on the findings,the RV and MSCR test result shows that all modified asphalt binders have improved performance in comparison to the neat asphalt binders in terms of higher viscosity and improved permanent deformation resistance.A higher amount of CaCO3 and LLDPE have led modified asphalt binders to better recovery percentage,except the asphalt binders modified using a combination of CaCO3 and LLDPE.However,the inclusion of LLDPE into asphalt binder has lowered the thermal cracking resistance.The incorporation of CaCO3 in asphalt mixtures was found beneficial,especially in improving the ability to resist fatigue cracking of asphalt mixture.In contrast,asphalt mixtures show better moisture sensitivity through the addition of LLDPE.The addition of LLDPE has significantly enhanced the indirect tensile strength values and tensile strength ratio of asphalt mixtures. | Mohd Rosli Mohd Hasan Zhanping You Mohd Khairul Idham Mohd Satar Muhammad Naqiuddin Mohd Warid Nurul Hidayah Mohd Kamaruddin Sharvin Poovaneshvaran | 2019 | Organic Polymer Material Research2019,1,1: | 0 |
