1Synthesis and properties of p(NIPA-co-NVP)/clay hydrogels by radiation polymerization显示文摘In this study,hydrogels of P(NIPA-co-NVP)/clay were synthesized byγ-ray radiation.Different thermo-sensitive hydrogels were made under different experimental conditions such as dose,monomer ratio,and con- tent of clay.X-ray diffraction shows that the layer distance between Na-clays is changed from 1.6 to 2.7 nm because Na-clay pieces can be intercalated or exfoliated by HTMAB,and that between P(NIPA-co-NVP)/clay pieces is 3.4 nm. The swelling property tests show that the LCST of P(NIPA-co-NVP) is higher than PNIPA.With the increase of NVP content,LCST is higher.As the ratio of NIPA/NVP is 95/5,hydrogel shows the best swelling property and LCST is 37℃.LCST of P(NIPA-co-NVP)/clay hydrogel is not changed,but the strength and swelling properties are better.SONG Hongyan YANG Mingcheng ZHU Chengshen HE Suqin GAO Ya 2007Nuclear Science and Techniques2007,18,1:4
2Low-overpotential selective reduction of CO2 to ethanol on electrodeposited CuxAuy nanowire arrays显示文摘Direct electrochemical reduction of CO2 to multicarbon products is highly desirable, yet challenging. Here, we present a potentiostatic pulse-electrodeposition of high-aspect-ratio CuxAuy nanowire arrays (NWAs) as high-performance electrocatalysts for the CO2 reduction reaction (CO2RR). The surface electronic structure related to the Cu:Au ratio in the CuxAuy NWAs could be facilely modulated by controlling the electrodeposition potential and the as-fabricated CuxAuy NWAs could be directly used as the catalytic electrode for the CO2RR. The morphology of the high-aspect-ratio nanowire array significantly lowers the onset potential of the alcohol formation due to the diffusion-induced enhancement of the local pH and CO concentration near the nanowire surface. Besides, the properly adjusted surface electronic structure of the CuxAuy NWA enables the adsorption of CO and facilitates the subsequent CO reduction to ethanol via the C-C coupling pathway. Owing to the synergistic effect of morphology and electronic structure, the optimized CuxAuy NWA selectively reduces CO2 to ethanol at low potentials of -0.5——0.7 V vs. RHE with a highest Faradaic efficiency of 48%. 3Swelling and thermal properties of porous PNIPAM/PEG hydrogels prepared by radiation polymerization显示文摘In this study,a series of porous intelligent hydrogels were synthesized by radiation exhibiting the lower critical solution temperature(LCST) and fast response involving a combination of A’-isopropyl acrylamideas monomer, polyethylene glycol(PEG) as pore-forming agent and N,N-methylene-bis-acrylamide as crosslinking agent.The hydrogels were analyzed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,and the influence of radiation doses on their swelling and thermal behaviors were studied.Their surface morphologies were examined by scanning electron microscopy.The results showed that PEG molecules only acted as pore-forming agent in the cross-linked polymerization.Their swelling ratios reduced with increasing radiation doses.The LCST was around 37℃,and varied little with the radiation doses.The frozen water content of PNIPAM/PEG6000 hydrogel reduced with increasing the radiation dose,and was greater than that of PN1PAM hydrogel at 15 kGy.Hydrogel macropores were prepared by PEG agent,and the hydrogels without PEG had a dense surface.The porous hydrogels are expected to be applied in the field of artificial intelligence material.LI Zhihui LIU Wentao LI Zhongyuan YANG Mingcheng GAO Xujing CUI Haitao HE Suqin ZHU Chengshen 2013Nuclear Science and Techniques2013,24,2:3

7Radiation synthesis and characterization of polyacrylic acid hydrogels显示文摘The pH-sensitive polyacrylic acid (PAA) hydrogels were synthesized by gamma-ray irradiation at an am- bient temperature. The influences of dose, monomer concentration, cross-linking agent content, pH, and ionic strength on the swelling ratio (SR) of the PAA hydrogels were investigated in detail. The results show that the SR of the hy- drogel decreases with an increase in the dose, monomer concentration, and cross-linking agent content. In alkaline so- lution, the SR of the hydrogels is much higher than that in acid solution. Also, the ionic strength can influence the SR of the hydrogels. 13Pathogenic analysis of coxsackievirus A10 in rhesus macaques显示文摘Coxsackievirus A10(CV-A10)is one of the etiological agents associated with hand,foot and mouth disease(HFMD)and also causes a variety of illnesses in humans,including pneumonia,and myocarditis.Different people,particularly young children,may have different immunological responses to infection.Current CV-A10 infection animal models provide only a rudimentary understanding of the pathogenesis and effects of this virus.The characteristics of CV-A10 infection,replication,and shedding in humans remain unknown.In this study,rhesus macaques were infected by CV-A10 via respiratory or digestive route to mimic the HFMD in humans.The clinical symptoms,viral shedding,inflammatory response and pathologic changes were investigated in acute infection(1–11 day post infection)and recovery period(12–180 day post infection).All infected rhesus macaques during acute infection showed obvious viremia and clinical symptoms which were comparable to those observed in humans.Substantial inflammatory pathological damages were observed in multi-organs,including the lung,heart,liver,and kidney.During the acute period,all rhesus macaques displayed clinical signs,viral shedding,normalization of serum cytokines,and increased serum neutralizing antibodies,whereas inflammatory factors caused some animals to develop severe hyperglycemia during the recovery period.In addition,there were no significant differences between respiratory and digestive tract infected animals.Overall,all data presented suggest that the rhesus macaques provide the first non-human primate animal model for investigating CV-A10 pathophysiology and assessing the development of potential human therapies.Suqin Duan Fengmei Yang Yanyan Li Yuan Zhao Li Shi Meng Qin Quan Liu Weihua Jin Junbin Wang Lixiong Chen Wei Zhang Yongjie Li Ying Zhang Jingjing Zhang Shaohui Ma Zhanlong He Qihan Li 2022Virologica Sinica2022,37,4:1

16Sexual competition and kin recognition co-shape the traits of neighboring dioecious Diospyros morrisiana seedlings显示文摘Plants respond differently to the identity of their neighbors,such as their sex and kinship,showing plasticity in their traits.However,how the functional traits of dioecious trees are shaped by the recognition of neighbors with different sex and kinship remains unknown.In this study,we set up an experiment with different kin/nonkin and inter/intrasexual combinations for a dioecious tree species,Diospyros morrisiana.The results showed that plants grew better with nonkin and intrasexual neighbors than with kin and intersexual neighbors.Kin combinations had significantly shorter root length in the resource-overlapping zone than nonkin combinations,suggesting that kin tended to reduce competition by adjusting their root distribution,especially among female siblings.Our study suggested that the seedling growth of D.morrisiana was affected by both the relatedness and sexual identity of neighboring plants.Further analysis by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry showed that the root exudate composition of female seedlings differed from that of male seedlings.Root exudates may play important roles in sex competition in dioecious plants.This study indicates that sex-specific competition and kin recognition interact and co-shape the traits of D.morrisiana seedlings,while intrasexual and nonkin neighbors facilitate the growth of seedlings.Our study implies that kin-and sex-related interactions depend on different mechanisms,kin selection,and niche partitioning,respectively.These results are critical for understanding how species coexist and how traits are shaped in nature.Yulin He Han Xu Hanlun Liu Meiling Luo Chengjin Chu Suqin Fang 2021Horticulture Research2021,8,1:0
