Geological characteristics and tectonic signifcance of unconformities in Mesoproterozoic successions in the northern margin of the North China Block显示文摘Several stratigraphic breaks and unconformities exist in the Mesoproterozoic successions in the northern margin of the North China Block.Geologic characters and spatial distributions of fve of these unconformities, which have resulted from different geological processes, have been studied. The unconformity beneath the Dahongyu Formation is interpreted as a breakup unconformity, representing the time of transition from continental rift to passive continental margin. The unconformities beneath the Gaoyuzhuang and the Yangzhuang formations are considered to be the consequence of regional eustatic fuctuations, leading to the exposure of highlands in passive margins during low sea-level stands and transgressive deposition on coastal regions during high sea-level stands. The unconformity atop the Tieling Formation might be caused by uplift due to contractional deformation in a back-arc setting, whereas the uplift after the deposition of the Xiamaling Formation might be attributed to a continental collision event. It is assumed that the occurrences of these unconformities in the Mesoproterozoic successions in the northern margin of the North China Block had a close bearing on the assemblage and breakup of the Columbia and Rodinia supercontinents.Yongqiang Qu Jianguo Pan Shouxian Ma Zhiping Lei Lin Li Guoli Wu 2014Geoscience Frontiers2014,5,1:7
Atomic process of oxidative etching in monolayer molybdenum disulfide显示文摘The microscopic process of oxidative etching of two-dimensional molybdenum disulfide(2D MoS_2) at an atomic scale is investigated using a correlative transmission electron microscope(TEM)-etching study.MoS_2 flakes on graphene TEM grids are precisely tracked and characterized by TEM before and after the oxidative etching. This allows us to determine the structural change with an atomic resolution on the edges of the domains, of well-oriented triangular pits and along the grain boundaries. We observe that the etching mostly starts from the open edges, grain boundaries and pre-existing atomic defects.A zigzag Mo edge is assigned as the dominant termination of the triangular pits, and profound terraces and grooves are observed on the etched edges. Based on the statistical TEM analysis, we reveal possible routes for the kinetics of the oxidative etching in 2D MoS_2, which should also be applicable for other 2D transition metal dichalcogenide materials like MoSe_2 and WS_2.Danhui Lv Hulian Wang Dancheng Zhu Jie Lin Guoli Yin Fang Lin Ze Zhang ChuanhongJin 2017Science Bulletin2017,62,12:7

AURKB and MAPK involvement in the regulation of the early stages of mouse zygote development显示文摘Aurora kinases have become a hot topic for research as they have been found to play an important role in various stages of mitotic cell division and to participate in malignant conversions of tumors. The participation of Aurora kinases in the regulation of oocyte meiosis has been recently reported, but their participation in mammalian early embryonic development remained unclear. The object of our study was to establish the spatio-temporal expression pattern of Aurora kinase B (AURKB) in mouse zygotes during the first cleavage, to reveal its functions in the early development of mouse zygotes, and to define the involvement of AURKB in mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling. Our results showed that in mouse zygotes AURKB expression increased in G1 phase and peaked in M phase. AURKB protein distribution was found to be in association with nuclei and distributed throughout the cytoplasm in a cell cycle-dependent manner. Functional disruption of AURKB resulted in abnormal division phenotypes or mitotic impairments. U0126, a specific mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase (MEK) inhibitor, caused significantly altered morphologies of early embryos together with a decrease in protein expression and kinase activity of AURKB. Our results indicated that the activity of AURKB was required for regulating multiple stages of mitotic progression in the early development of mouse zygotes and was correlated with the activation of the MAPK pathway.XU Lin LIU Tong HAN Feng ZONG ZhiHong WANG GuoLi YU BingZhi ZHANG Jie 2012Science China(Life Sciences)2012,55,1:2

Double Plasma Molecular Adsorption System with Sequential Low-dose Plasma Exchange in Patients with Hepatitis B Virus-related Acute-on-chronic Liver Failure:A Prospective Study显示文摘Background and Aims:To investigate the safety and efficacy of double plasma molecular adsorption system(DPMAS)with sequential low-dose plasma exchange(LPE)in treating early hepatitis B virus-related acute-on-chronic liver failure(HBV-ACLF).Methods:Clinical data of patients with HBVACLF were prospectively collected, including patients in a DPMAS with sequential LPE(DPMAS+LPE)group and those in a standard medical treatment(SMT)group. The primary endpoint was death or liver transplantation(LT)at 12 weeks of follow-up.Propensity-score matching was performed to control the effects of confounding factors on prognosis between the two groups. Results:After 2 weeks, total bilirubin, alanine aminotransferase, blood urea nitrogen levels, and Chinese Group on the Study of Severe Hepatitis B score, were significantly lower in the DPMAS+LPE group than those in the SMT group(p<0.05).After 4 weeks, laboratory parameters of the two groups were similar. The cumulative survival rate of the DPMAS+LPE group was significantly higher than that of the SMT group at 4 weeks(97.9%vs.85.4%,p=0.027),but not at 12 weeks(85.4%vs.83.3%,p=0.687).Cytokine levels were significantly lower in 12-week survival group than in the death-or-LT group(p<0.05).Functional enrichment analysis showed that downregulated cytokines were mainly involved in positive regulation of proliferation and activation of lymphocytes and monocytes, regulation of immune effect response, regulation of endotoxin response, and glial cell proliferation. Conclusion:DPMAS+LPE significantly improved the 4-week cumulative survival rate, and ameliorated the inflammatory response in patients.DPMAS+LPE may be a promising modality for patients with early HBV-ACLF.Lu Wang Wenxiong Xu Shu Zhu Guoli Lin Jing Lai Yufeng Zhang Ying Liu Lihua Zheng Qiumin Luo Zhiliang Gao Chan Xie Liang Peng 2023Journal of Clinical and Translational Hepatology2023,11,4:1
The effects of the thermal state of overriding continental plate on subduction dynamics: Two-dimensional thermal-mechanical modeling显示文摘The dynamic process of ocean-continent subduction depends on not only the properties of the subducting oceanic plate, but also the characteristics and state of the overriding continental plate.Numerical models conducted to date have mostly focused on the oceanic lithosphere in this regard;research on the properties of overriding continental lithosphere remains relatively limited, especially the influence of its thermal state on subduction dynamics. Here we explored the performance of continental lithosphere with different thermal states during the subduction process using two-dimensional thermal-mechanical modeling and systematically investigated the effects of the thermal state of overriding continental plate, the age of subducting oceanic plate, and relative convergence rate on subduction dynamics.Modeling results show that:(1)When the geothermal gradient of continental crust is low(between 10 and 15℃km^-1),the oceanic plate first subducts at a low angle. As subduction continues, the slab dip gradually increases and the slab begins to retreat rapidly driven by its negative buoyancy, opening an ocean basin ranging from 600 to 1100 km in width. This leads to the decoupling between the overriding continental plate and oceanic plate. As the trench retreat continues, the horizontal deviatoric stress inside the overriding continental crust alternates between being positive and negative in a local area.Thinning of the overriding lithosphere mainly occurs at the region adjacent to the subduction zone, where the surface experiences significant subsidence.(2)When the geothermal gradient of continental crust is higher(greater than 15℃km-1),oceanic plate retreat causes the overriding continental plate to be strongly stretched. In this case, the trench retreat distance decreases and the width of the ocean basin also reduces by between 100 and 1000 km.The horizontal deviatoric stress inside the whole overriding continental crust first manifests as compression and then changes into extension, which causes the surface to first uplift and then slowly subside.(3)Increasing the age of oceanic lithosphere accelerates trench retreat and promotes overriding plate thinning.(4)An advancing overriding continental plate slows down trench retreat. In cases where the geothermal gradient of continental crust is greater than 17.5℃km-1,the hot continental crust experiences gravitational collapse and is overthrusted onto oceanic lithosphere, resulting in slow trench retreat. We analyzed the subduction process of the western Paleo-Pacific Plate in the Early Cretaceous based on our modeling results and discussed its possible control on the tectonic evolution of the rift basins in east Asia.We suggest that the development of a wide rift basin system on the Amurian Superterrane in the Early Cretaceous was likely related to slow trench retreat and the collapse of the hot crust, and the formation of a series of passive rift basins in the North China Craton was likely caused by the relatively cold thermal state of the lithosphere and the rapid retreat of the Paleo-Pacific Plate.Jiaxuan TANG Lin CHEN Qingren MENG Guoli WU 2020Science China Earth Sciences2020,63,10:1
Recent research progress of master mold manufacturing by nanoimprint technique for the novel microoptics devices显示文摘The consumer demand for emerging technologies such as augmented reality(AR),autopilot, and three-dimensional(3D)internet has rapidly promoted the application of novel optical display devices in innovative industries. However, the micro/nanomanufacturing of high-resolution optical display devices is the primary issue restricting their development. The manufacturing technology of micro/nanostructures,methods of display mechanisms, display materials, and mass production of display devices are major technical obstacles. To comprehensively understand the latest state-of-the-art and trigger new technological breakthroughs, this study reviews the recent research progress of master molds produced using nanoimprint technology for new optical devices, particularly AR glasses,new-generation light-emitting diode car lighting, and naked-eye 3D display mechanisms, and their manufacturing techniques of master molds. The focus is on the relationships among the manufacturing process, microstructure, and display of a new optical device.Nanoimprint master molds are reviewed for the manufacturing and application of new optical devices, and the challenges and prospects of the new optical device diffraction grating nanoimprint technology are discussed.Yuhang LIU Jianjun LIN Zuohuan HU Guoli GAO Bingyang WANG Liuyi WANG Zhiyuan PAN Jianfei JIA Qinwei YIN Dengji GUO Xujin WANG 2022Frontiers of Materials Science2022,16,3:0
Feasibility and physics potential of detecting ^(8)B solar neutrinos at JUNO显示文摘The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory(JUNO)features a 20 kt multi-purpose underground liquid scintillator sphere as its main detector. Some of JUNO's features make it an excellent location for^8B solar neutrino measurements, such as its low-energy threshold, high energy resolution compared with water Cherenkov detectors, and much larger target mass compared with previous liquid scintillator detectors. In this paper,we present a comprehensive assessment of JUNO's potential for detecting^8B solar neutrinos via the neutrino-electron elastic scattering process.A reduced 2 MeV threshold for the recoil electron energy is found to be achievable, assuming that the intrinsic radioactive background^(238)U and^(232)Th in the liquid scintillator can be controlled to 10^(-17)g/g.With ten years of data acquisition, approximately 60,000 signal and 30,000 background events are expected. This large sample will enable an examination of the distortion of the recoil electron spectrum that is dominated by the neutrino flavor transformation in the dense solar matter, which will shed new light on the inconsistency between the measured electron spectra and the predictions of the standard three-flavor neutrino oscillation framework.IfDelta m^(2)_(21)=4.8times10^(-5);(7.5times10^(-5))eV^(2),JUNO can provide evidence of neutrino oscillation in the Earth at approximately the 3sigma(2sigma)level by measuring the non-zero signal rate variation with respect to the solar zenith angle. Moreover,JUNO can simultaneously measureDelta m^2_(21)using^8B solar neutrinos to a precision of 20% or better, depending on the central value, and to sub-percent precision using reactor antineutrinos.A comparison of these two measurements from the same detector will help understand the current mild inconsistency between the value of Delta m^2_(21)reported by solar neutrino experiments and the KamLAND experiment.Angel Abusleme Thomas Adam Shakeel Ahmad Sebastiano Aiello Muhammad Akram Nawab Ali Fengpeng An Guangpeng An Qi An Giuseppe Andronico Nikolay Anfimov Vito Antonelli Tatiana Antoshkina Burin 10The haplotype-resolved T2T reference genome highlights structural variation underlying agronomic traits of melon显示文摘Melon(Cucumis melo L.)is an important vegetable crop that has an extensive history of cultivation. However, the genome of wild and semi-wild melon types that can be used for the analysis of agronomic traits is not yet available. Here we report a chromosome-level T2T genome assembly for 821(C.melo ssp.agrestis var.acidulus),a semi-wild melon with two haplotypes of∼373 Mb and∼364 Mb,respectively.Comparative genome analysis discovered a significant number of structural variants(SVs)between melo(C.melo ssp.melo)and agrestis(C.melo ssp.agrestis)genomes, including a copy number variation located in the ToLCNDV resistance locus on chromosome 11.Genome-wide association studies detected a significant signal associated with climacteric ripening and identified one candidate gene CM_ac12g14720.1(CmABA2),encoding a cytoplasmic short chain dehydrogenase/reductase,which controls the biosynthesis of abscisic acid. This study provides valuable genetic resources for future research on melon breeding.Guoli Li Lingli Tang Yuhua He Yongyang Xu Abdelhafid Bendahmane Jordi Garcia-Mas Tao Lin Guangwei Zhao 2023Horticulture Research2023,10,10:0
dBrms1 Acts as a Positive Regulator of Notch Signaling in Drosophila Wing显示文摘The highly conserved Notch signaling is precisely regulated at different steps in a series of developmental events. However, little is known about the regulation of Notch receptor at transcriptional level. Here, we demonstrate that dBrms1 is involved in regulating Notch signaling in Drosophila wing. We show that knockdown of dBrms1 by RNA interference(RNAi) in wing disc suppresses the expression of Notch signaling target genes wingless(wg), cut and Enhancer of split m8 [E(spl)m8]. Consistently, the levels of Wg and Cut are reduced in the dBrms1 mutant clones. Importantly, loss of dBrms1 leads to significant reduction of Notch proteins. Furthermore, depletion of dBrms1 results in apparent downregulation of Notch transcription in the wing disc. Moreover, we find that dBrms1 is functionally conserved with human Breast cancer metastasis suppressor 1 like(hBRMS1L) in the modulation of Notch signaling. Taken together, our data provide important insights into the biological function of dBrms1 in regulating Notch signaling.Qinghai Zhang Yan Zhang Longfei Wu Yongfei Yang Xue Li Lei Gao Xiaomeng Hou Yihui Wu Guoli Hou Zhouhua Li Xinhua Lin 2014Journal of Genetics and Genomics2014,41,6:0
Efficacy and safety of direct-acting antiviral agent regimens in a real-world cohort of adult Chinese patients with chronic hepatitis C virus infection显示文摘Background and aims:To investigate the safety and efficacy of direct-acting antiviral(DAA)regimens in a cohort of Chinese patients with chronic hepatitis C virus(HCV)infection. Methods:A total of 222 adult Chinese patients were enrolled and treated via DAA regimens in accor-dance with HCV management guidelines.Treatment responses were evaluated 4 weeks after treatment,at the end of treatment(EOT)and 12 weeks post-treatment.Virological responses, biochemical re-sponses,model for end-stage liver disease(MELD)and Child-Pugh(CP)scores were recorded. Results:A total of 218 patients(98.2%)achieved sustained virological response 12 weeks post-treatment and 4 patients relapsed. The combined number of rapid virological responses for all six regimens was 170/222(76.6%),and 221/222(99.6%)had achieved virological responses by the end of treatment. In decompensated cirrhosis patients the baseline mean CP score was 6.8±1.3 and the mean MELD score was 10.1±3.3.Compared with the mean CP score at baseline, the mean score is significantly lower at the end of treatment(5.7±1.3)and 12 weeks post-treatment(5.6±1.0).Estimated glomerular filtration rates did not differ significantly from baseline during the treatment or 12 weeks post-treatment.The incidence of adverse events in patients with chronic hepatitis C and compensated cirrhosis was 42/172(24.4%),and in patients with decompensated cirrhosis it was 8/22(36.4%).The most frequently reported adverse events were elevated indirect bilirubin, fatigue and rash. There were no cases of serious adverse events, death or treatment discontinuation because of adverse events. Conclusion:DAA regimens were highly effective and well tolerated irrespective of HCV genotype, cirrhosis, liver or kidney transplantation, hepatocellular carcinoma,HCV/hepatitis B virus co-infection,or renal failure.Jinyuan Wei Yongyu Mei Jianping Li Jing Yuan Xiaohua Yang Zhen Xu Guoli Lin Juan Zhang Zhixin Zhao Xiaohong Zhang 2020Liver Research2020,4,2:0
